9. Part Three: The Battle of Church (2)

Raw power without control is absolutely destruction, that's how the dragon described as an ancient being that would bring calamity over mankind. And how if a mere human held the power of the dragon itself?

Issei Hyoudou has a power that may killed a God, how suppose a mere human kill the creator of all being? The answer is a pure destruction that may destroy the very existence of "God" itself. An ability to kill the God itself is crazy enough as a mad tale and laughing stock. Ddraig or so called as Red Dragon Emperor used to be a dragon that fight for his own superiority, to surpass any strength, and dominate the very our world. Now the dragon reside in the red gauntlet which is wielded by this Issei Hyoudo. A certain unfortunate event happened and now Issei Hyoudou has to bear this responsibility, whether to bring the doom upon the world or mastering the gift and held the justice for every mankind.

"I have a sin that must be atoned, Father"

"Y-you are that filthy dragon wielder, Issei Hyoudou!" Freed Selzen, a rogue priest that went rampage to erase the existence of a devil is a faitful servant of God and misled by his own power and choosing the path of destruction. He is later discovered as the man who responsible for causing havoc in the city, allying himself with a fallen angel, a being that in fact contradict to the God teaching or a church man. The devil squad took an initiate attack before Issei' explosion caused a destruction over half of the church, confirmed they are Gremory squad and a glasses girl which resemble to Issei Hyoudou' student council chairwoman.

"Issei kun!"Rias Gremory' voice resonance clearly through the debris caused by the explosion

"Cleaning the mess of course and reshape the order on how the church as a servant of God serve the humanity in peace, not threatening the children of God and accused them for having a great gift from God. You are no different to a demon itself, Father. I know that you must hiding something. You have allied yourself with a fallen angel, hunting every devil in this town, causing havoc all over places, and you want to kill an innocent human to gain this sacred gear. Is this what you have been called as upholding the purity?"

"I am a man of revolution, you filth human. I am Freed Selzen and i will stand against the odd in the name of myself as a faithfuly servant of God to obliterate everything that may harm this fucking world! An odd being like you will endanger our very existence. The one who will claim the superiority as human and stand in the top of stage will be us and we will restore the order, not both of you filthy devil and tainted human" Freed Selzen clearly demonstrate on how the world run and the responsibility as the good servant in keeping the order.

"You sure have a big mouth, Father. Do you even know? The God that you serve faithfuly clearly has a good sense of humor, in creating you. Upholding justice? Keeping the order? You are clearly no match against a me"

"Shut your fucking mouth. I will cut your throat and i will hang your head as a dining room decoration!" The blood boiled within Freed Selzen head. Unable to control the anger, finaly he unseathe the blade and enter into battle stance. Accepting the duel, Issei likely draw his gauntlet and prepare for the next bloodbath duel. Accompanying him, her existence as a what-so-called as a mentor given him an advantage point. While Issei rely on the heavy damage with his dragon power, his mate will greet Freed Selzen gladly with close quarter fight and unmatched blade battle. On the other side, Freed Selzen and few of his company will fight to dead, other than priest, the fallen angel likely would draw their light spear that would be a great advantage to fight the devil vulnerability to a heavenly material. Accompanying the Rias Gremory squad, there is a group of devil that led by Issei' student council chairman, Shona Shitori. Confused as a unknowledgeable person, Issei would have his answer on Shona Shitory involvement later. Unable to cut into conversation and demand a question to Issei Hyoudou and his rapier wielder company, sadly, Rias Gremory will continue the battle with these fallen angel. Issei Hyoudo proudly demonstrate the power that achieved by a little rough exercise on the other day and prepare his gauntlet for his next shoot and punch.

Issei lunged forward immediatly and start to charge at his opponent, Freed Selzen straightly. While Jeanne would support Issei gladly with close quarter combat, fast paced breathtaking sword battle, giving an elegant defensive style to protect her mate from Freed Selzen henceman, and included to watch on how far Sekiryuutei mastering his own power, such an amusing observation. Issei boost his Boosted Gear immediately after charging his fist into Freed Selzen to gain the strength. Unfortunately, without a sufficient amount of power, Freed Selzen likely succesfully blocked Issei attack easily with his blade, stopping Issei' dragon punch.

"It seems The dragon is not worth my time"

"Hero will start from nothing" Answered Issei with full determination.

He take a breath for a while, channeling his power into his own fist before next boost. His attack remains same, but with a stronger boost and likely focused on only demolishing power, hope that his powerful fist strong enough to deliver blow that would shatter Freed Selzen defense. Jeanne would help him, but she has other works to do. Circled by Freed Selzen henchmen, she force them enter to her own pace, where a normal eye can't see the attack. Without hesitation, she draw her sword quickly and start doing her usual job, slash and slash, to paralyze them and deliver a fast and quick death upon their throat. This is how a professional paired with a newbie that might be killed by his own power. She combine a normal sword attack with a powerful jab that might cracked a man jaw, a few martial art, and taunting all of her enemies, make her a powerful frontliner. She has no opening at all with a mere priest like them, proving that she has another level from them, even with Freed Selzen. She take four of them easily as her sword stained in the red blood that spilled to the ground. While Issei fight with rogue priest continue as Issei at his peak of boost. Due to the advantage of power boost, Issei now may have a same level with Selzen, despite his lack in movement speed and technical abilities. But with a maxed out boost chanelling in his punch will resulted in a devastated impact that may knocked out anyone and maybe completely obliterating a full body of human or devil with a powerful dragon shot. Avoiding another failure, he start to think another attack that may injured Selzen badly.

'Partner'

'Ddraig? Any solution with this fight?'

'Do you need me to take the position?' Offered Ddraig.

'No, partner. If i'm not using my own power, i can't develop well with my own technique. I want to get stronger, and i'm using my own body'

'Okay, whatever you want partner. But i have a suggestion'

In the other side, Selzen mocked Sekiryuutei for his lack of battle experiences, proved by a simple attack pattern that limited to punch and punch. Before he could deliver some word to provoke Issei, suddenly his legs are cracked, something broken down there. In a second, Selzen fall into a ground.

"Gahhhhh, what just happenned?!" Yelled Freed Selzen in surprise while he greeted his own teeth, to surpress the hurt because leg fracture.

"One important note, don't underestimate your opponent. An ant alone can't take down a dragon, but the impossibility is not a zero if there are a thousand ant to disable its defense. You are disgrace to humanity, Freed Selzen" Issei prepared his last decisive blow to punish Freed Selzen crime.

"Fuck it, i won't die here! Raynare, get the fuck out and help me! I won't give you any protection from your former comrade if i die here!"

A clap of wing has descended from a night sky. Covered in a black feather, a being has descended from a sky in a manner. Black is associated with unpure matter. That is fallen angel Raynare, a beautiful being from the very first Issei encountered. Freed Selzen has a relief expression all over his face. An aid in a critical situation.

"You are that bitch!" Yelled Issei in anger. His memory are good enough to remember a strange face that used to be a beautiful, but now covered in a several scar because an event of Ddraig awakening in the earliest time.

"Am i still appealing to you, Sekiryuutei?"

"I wish you died that day!"

"I'm alive enough to see your priceless face, Issei kun. Physical wound heal over time, but death is a price that i can't afford. After all, soon i have a thing that would heal me instantly. Thanks to sister Asia Argento, you will not die in vain"

Suddenly, from the ground emerged a girl in her 15 chained to cross unconsciously. The girl clothes are torn apart, revealing her chest and stomache full with a scars. Issei' blood quickly rushed into his head and his anger dedicated to his archenemy.

"Fucking bitch, don't you dare to kill her! You people done enough to her! I will fucking kill you!"

Asia Argento was a girl that Issei and Mitsuki met yesterday, she is nun for a church though. He can't believe that she must endure all of those pain and live for nothing than the church pet. Issei had promised her to have the dinner with him and his little sister and now he can't even see her charming smile that used to be carved in her bright face. Desperate has taken over her mind. In a second, a weakling smile greet Issei angered face. Blood dripping from her mouth while her hand tried to reach his arm, she want a final hug that may be her last memory to be remembered. Issei can't bear all of those pain, anger is a fuel that consume his sanity. Vengeance is the only word in Issei mind right now.

"Hyoudou san, i am sorry i can't fulfill my promise to have a dinner with you and Mitsuki chan"

"No, don't say that. You are gonna be alright, Asia. She won't live enough to hurt you more than this. The three of us will have a great dinner tomorrow. So please, believe in me" As a man, tears are the last resort to express an overwhelming unhappiness, being a Sekiryuutei is a burden to Issei' heart and it is painful to see the person he has to protect dying in his very own grasp.

"No Hyoudou san, i can't. Its hurt so much. Please, just let me free"

Process of Twilight Healing removal begin right now. All of priest and my fellow fallen angel, would you care to hold them back for me? " Raynare cut their conversation off while she prepare for the last removal ritual. Raynare is cunning woman after all, she tried to kill Issei for Boosted Gear, fortunately it was failed and now she begin for another great sacred gear that will put her in advantage position. Twilight Healing is sacred gear capable to heal all the physical wound in no time if mastered. Such a powerful gift from God if anyone has a power like that, whether using it for a good cause or bad cause, a person that have an ability like that nearly invincible.

"No, No! You won't do that, i will kill you before you can do that!"

"Issei kun, anger is a good to fuel your power, use it wisely for a source of your determination. But, don't let it consume your heart, i know you will handle this easily. Jeanne is a woman of pride that encountered by Issei Hyoudou in earlier event, while she claim that she always observe Sekiryuutei growth and now she is Sekiryuutei teammate. A beautiful yet deadly is the right description for Sekiryuutei right hand. It is undiscovered why she came to him when he forced to deal with such unfortunate life. Right now, Issei' mind was cleared and now he able to resolve what his next move, aside for revenge, he want a justice. And he will do that for greater good. Issei would consult the next battle plan with his partner.

'I need plan, anything that may cleared our path to reach Asia considering there are too many enemies in front of us'

'Okay, let me see the choice we have. What we need is to use the time effectively, you want to save that Asia girl right?'

'I suggest you will cleared up the path for Jeanne'

'What?! I am not the one that will kick Raynare ass?'

'Shusshh, listen to me carefully. We have a limited time, so i want you boost for Jeanne and for yourself. Jeanne is an expert when it comes to close range fight and speed manueverability. The normal move of her is fast enough to cut anything in her path, then if you boost it to another level, then no one can surpass her blade to cut every throat'

'Hmm that is an idea that never came to my mind. But if we are focused on Raynare henceman, then we can't save Asia! We can't afford that!'

'I have told you that you lack in technical matter and i hate to say that. That is what we use Boosted Gear! You will boost your defense and your physical robustness. All we need is to charge your body to break their blockade. Let Jeanne have your back to support you and provide close quarter blade combat'

'But, there are flying fallen angel'

'Use your hand to shoot your dragon shot. Just shoot their wings and enough damage will force them to land in ground. Fallen angel notably have a quick reflexes, so you stand no chance if you forced to enter melee batttle with them. So, you will leave this unprepare fallen angel to your friend. She has enough time to slash them while you hold anything came from human melee attacker'

'Trust your friend, she has all the tricks under her sleeve'

While Issei in a deep thought, his partner understand that he will up to something. Jeanne then approach Issei and asking what happenned between him and Ddraig.

"I suppose you have few idea, Issei kun?"

"Ah, Jeanne. Yes, i do. You take care those flying creature and do the last blow with Raynare while i will hold all of priest. I will open the way and i leave the back for you okay?"

"But, will you be alright?" Jeanne concerned about Issei plan.

"Its okay, Jeanne. I am tough and i prefer brawling after all"

"Sigh, okay then. But don't be so reckless okay? I won't forgive you and them if you are hurt or something"

"Okay, we will charge at them in my count and i will shoot those flying creature as soon we open the blockade"

"Roger that" Issei prepared his last effort to save one person life. His first step becoming hero of the world.

"Charge now!" Issei commanded his teammate to charge the attack, like a mad bull he comes forward and push anything he can with his boosted body.

"Here they come" A few of priest barricade themselves to block Issei attack and prevent them from interrupting Raynare sacred gear extraction. Unfortunately, the strong barricade won't hold enough Issei' mad bull charging. They are mostly taking blow from physical contact with Issei body and forced to retreat. Without slowing his pace, Issei then use his gauntlet to aim the unprepared fallen angel which is too focused on Issei suicidal move.

'Remember to shoot the wings only, Partner! Watchout for the recoil!'

'Yes!'

''Dragon Shot!" Issei quickly draw his gauntlet and start firing at them. Three fallen angel were shot down by the powerful red beam laser. The fallen angel yelled in pain, try to recover from the shot while planning to step back, avoiding to be charged by the raging bull. In one second, they are surprised by the unseen attack and receive a fatal blow in their knees, paralyzing them temporary. It was Jeanne reaper dance attack. They are gasping in terror and refuse to believe it was a mere human able to launch the attack at such a godspeed.

"What the hell just happenned?!" One of fallen angel cursing in pain while they tried to recover from paralyze effect.

"It was me all along, its nice to have my speed enhanced by mighty Sekiryuutei. No one can match my speed"

"You just a mere human! How the hell you can surpass our speed?!"

"You know, i have carried Spirit of Maiden of Orleans. You should know it"

"Y-you are Joan of Arc?!"

"Most likely, yes. I only carried her spirit and the rest i exercise and train like hell. Now, you shouldn't complain about that" Jeanne was about to deliver her last blow attack and end their suffering. Her rapier shining elegantly by the reflection of night moon.

"No, please!" The fallen angel begging for her forgiveness. Jeanne replied them with a soft smile.

"No can't do. All of you are the one who responsible for Issei kun suffering and moreover, i hate those black wing. At least, you can repaint your wing in your next life"

"No!" With her last decision blow, she lunged forward and cut their neck, decapitating them. Quick and elegant death. With her final effort, she salutes all of them with bowing like a knight manner for witnessing the Maiden of Orleans reborn.

"And thank you for triggering Issei kun dragon. Because of your doing, i am now meet my destined man in my life"

Jeanne give them quick and clean death while Issei still busy by exchanging blow with the remaining priest. She analyze his battle and commenting that at least he has an unmatched determination and of course her usual charming smile craved all over her face. Suddenly, she remembered what plan that he told before. She will be the one who receive an honor to replace Sekiryuutei work, killing the main boss.

"Issei kun, transfer your power boost to me! I will end Raynare life and avenge your revenge" Still busy with brawling competition, Issei nod slightly then he transfer the remaining power stored in his boosted gear.

Red light embraced Jeanne body, the transfer of power effect.

"I want to do this often, Issei kun. Its so warm like your hug"

"U-uh oh yeah, we should, do this sometime" Issei cheek reddening slightly.

"Okay, time to kick her ass and punish her properly" Jeanne draw her rapier from its sheath. The blood from earlier battle dripped. Every aspect within her body now enhanced, movement speed, attack speed, and physical damage, given an advantage for Jeanne. Not to mention her basic speed is unrivaled, now with enhance speed no normal sights can see the godspeed. Raynare continue while she aware of her position right now. With her fallen angel unable to help her anymore, while the priest still held by Issei brawling battle. When Raynare examine the battlefield, Issei was stood there still busy with her priest while Jeanne start to move apart from her place, frighten Raynare undirectly.

"I am embraced by light, faster than anything could see" Jeanne word terrorize Raynare mind. It is terrifying whisper that paralyze anything, Raynare have seen that. A nightmare that consume her is unbearable, she start to draw her lightning spear and try to stab everything she face.

"Come out you filthy bitch! I am used to be Angel, superior creature that created by God and i myself rebelled against God! You think that i am weak?! I am the one who will rule over you, you lowly human should know your place!"

There is no response from her enemy, while the extraction continue. It just a matter of time before she beheaded by Jeanne sharpest rapier. Raynare losing her focus, on the other hand, Jeanne toying Raynare' mind happily.

"Just do it, Jeanne! We are not losing Asia life in here!" Issei growing unpatienly while he just finished with the last priest that have been knocked out. There are several bruishes and wounded cut in his left arm and chest, but apparently he was fine, thanks to enhancement effect of Boosted Gear, granting physical robustness to the greater level.

"Sigh, okay. As you wish, Sekiryuutei"

Without preparation to deffend herself, a shining blade pierce Raynare belly in a deep matter. Jeanne just revealed her blade out of nowhere where Raynare even can't see. Blood spurting from her belly and injured her badly. The unfortune fallen angel falling to the ground while trying to suppress her wound, preventing for a more blood loss. Jeanne then approach Asia which lying unconsciously but still breathing, another good sign.

"Guhh! I-i can't be defeated!" Raynare whimper loudly, coughing some red fresh blood from her mouth.

"This is why you can never win against an odd, Raynare" Suddenly the dragon boy Issei Hyoudou approach her in mocking manner.

"Y-you fucking dragon wielder! I have should kill you soon as i know you have that fucking power!"

"Sigh, you never admit your loss, aren't you? Well, you are right that i am dangerous walking machine with carrying dragon spirit inside me, you are totally correct about that" Raynare eyes show sign of disgust while hearing his lecture.

"But, it would be my responsibility to carry this heavy burden. Boosted Gear indeed is a double edged sword, a gift and disaster. In the right hand, a nice formula can be created and bring the order back where it should be, by my own fist and my teammate aid. You see, when i saw your face from the first time, i think that you are the first girl that i considered as a masterpiece and perfectly God creation"

Another woman in the site quickly approach Issei and cling to his arm while pouting and show a bit jealousy. Issei replied her with a weak smile and continue his final word.

"I thought that if you are not out of the track, i shall take you for my newly comrade in arms. I know that you are capable to handle anything with ease. But, for now it is too late. I am sorry" Issei left her to Jeanne to handle. Jeanne know how to deliver last painless death.

"You know what he said"

"N-no, please no!" Jeanne draw her sword and in a knight manner, she end Raynare life without a blink, in a second. Jeanne salute her before she move out and left what remain of Raynare body. She approach Issei slowly, know that she won't disturb Issei with a fact that Asia in dying state.

"Issei kun" She stroke his hair, trying to comfort him

"Jeanne, thank you for bring me this far. I couldn't repay anything that you have given to me, if only i can repay with a something"

"No, Issei kun. In fact, i am feel so lucky to have you as my apprentice. You have my sword to take care your back and i always be there. Just promise me one thing" She hugged him tightly while Issei unable to resist, and openly welcome her comfortable hug.

"Be my light over the darkness night, be my guide over the thousand labyrinth, be my hope over my despair"

"If you said so, then its my honor to have you to watch my back, Jeanne" They at it for a 5 minutes before a footstep interrupt their romantic time. Jeanne refuse to let go her hand. A group of devil coming at them with a speechless expression. They are witnessing an amount of lifeless body inside the church included Raynare headless body. Rias Gremory, the leader of what so called as Occult Research Club gestured her body to lower their guard as a friendly act. There in a cross, there is a girl crucified with several wounds and it seems that she is lifeless already. While in front of that girl, there are a girl and boy kneeling at her, and mourning for their loss. Rias Gremory, without hostility aura approach them and demand a question for all what happenned before.

"Issei kun? Can you just explain us what really happenned before?" Issei turn his head toward Rias Gremory and slowly stand up from his kneeling posititon, forcing Jeanne to let go her embracing hand.

"Sigh, we fought these bastard to save that fellow of mine. We investigate an odd within the town and led us to this church. Apparently, the one who responsible for this calamity was a group of rogue priest and fallen angel, trying to rebel against the church itself and sporadically kill all of the devil and sacred gear wielder, while they do that such bizarre action in the name of their God. Crazy enough to put an innocent people in danger" Issei explained what really happenned detailed. Jeanne then approach Issei side and meet the devil group officially. In manner of knight, she introduce herself.

"Pardon me, it is a rude not to share my identity with Issei kun friend. I am Jeanne, swordswomen and i am Issei kun love interest" Jeanne properly shake Rias' hand and proclaim that she is in love with Issei Hyoudou.

"What?! Such an odd introduction from a knight like you" Rias show a hint of jealousy towards Jeanne.

"Jeanne? That rapier! I know you! You are the one who carried spirit of Maiden of Orleans. Joan of Arc! I can't believe i will meet a living legend here in our small town!" Kiba cut the conversation, claimed that he knew her from a legendary story.

"Yes, you must be Kiba Yuuto. Rias Gremory knight. Maybe someday we shall hone our skill, will you?"

"Ah, its my honor to receive that request from legendary godspeed swordwoman"

"How do you know my little junior, Jeanne?" Rias cutting in and straightforwardly asking on how Jeanne got the information on Issei kun.

"I have eyes everywhere"

"Oh. Issei kun, who is that girl?" Rias choose to ignore Jeanne existence and focused on Issei instead. She pointed the lifeless girl in the crucified form, referring to what Issei know as Asia Argento. There is small hint of sadness in Issei' face which concerned both Jeanne and Rias.

"That is friend of mine and my sister, Asia Argento. She is a fortunate nun who became a victim of these rogue priest and fallen angel. They are trying to extract Asia' sacred gear which i believe has a healing ability"

"Oh my Satan. I don't know your friend has gone rough life. An extraction of sacred gear will resulting in the death of its wielder. If this Raynare has succeed extracting her sacred gear, then she must have gone" Rias explained how the system work on sacred gear and try to comfort Issei. Issei nodded weakly before he can continue his word.

"If you, the devil has a way to revive her, then please revive her. I know that this is my selfish request, but i just want to see her smile again. She is my sister bestfriend" Issei plead his request to revive Asia Argento, and bring her back to life.

"We, the devil has a way to revive the dead human. They once will revived and shall serve her/his master. We have what we called as an Evil Piece. Evil Piece is system where the person that revived will be represented by the piece itself. King is the leader of his group or me as the master of my servant. While the other will be Queen, Knight, Rook, Bishop, and Pawn. Each other has same amount with chest piece in the human world. Right now, Gremory clan has a descendant which descend upon me. And now i have an empty space for bishop and pawn. Maybe, i can fulfill your request by revive this Asia Argento and have her to serve under my command and she will be reincarnated to a devil. Quite strange isn't? Being a former of nun then revived as devil. Do you think it is alright for Asia chan?"

Now its time for Issei to choose a wise decision for Asia future. He know that he will hate it for her to be reincarnated as a devil, but there is no other way. Such a magic to reincarnate a dead people is not exist in human world. While the dragon is also a lot to swallow, but the reality he has a real dragon inside his gauntlet. He then glance Jeanne eyes to have her opinion on this. She nod her head as acceptance.

Just revive Asia but note that, you will have the responsibility as good master for providing protection for your servant and i won't tolerate if you hurt her, okay? Other than that, i would agree to your term" Rias Gremory nodded and then prepare for the reincarnation ritual.

Issei then give his last word before he left the ruined church as well deliver his thanks to the devil squad for helping them undirectly.

"Rias san, i know that i am a selfish and rude man, but i greatly thank your acceptance for a foolish request from me as well as providing a good life for Asia future. I am deeply aplogize for my rudeness to have such blindly rejection the offerring" Issei Hyoudou show his gratitude and a manner as a man, bowing himself and trying to get better knowing all of the devil is not that bad as he think.

Enjoy the story after my deep slumber. After i re-read my own story, i spot a mistake that i have to correct. In the earlier chapter, i type that Issei has a dual gauntlet in both of his hand. Sorry, that was wrong and i didn't recognize this. As usual, write some critics and review to enhance my writing skill!
