Bluey and Jenny
Season one Episode eighteen: Butterflies
A Blue Heeler was shown in her bed as a German Shepherd about her age jumped on top of her, making her laugh with upbeat music playing. "Bluey and Jenny, (Bluey and Jenny fall out of bed while laughing) they're rarely seen without the other." Bluey and Jenny are shown to be in school wth a red heeler riding on Bluey's back, and a younger German Shepherd on Jenny's back. "Both are older sisters, (Jenny lifts her leg with Bluey gagging while laughing, Bingo just gagging, and the other German Shepherd laughing) as well as best friends forever."
Bluey and Jenny were shown to be walking through the forest with Bluey looking around in amazement. "Bluey is the truster, (Jenny is shown slashing at leaves with her sword) Jenny is the tomboy, (Bluey and Jenny find an amazing view of their town and look over it) they can make quite the pair." Bluey and Jenny are shown to be playing with Bingo and the younger German Shepherd as Jenny cuts down a bag of candy from a rope. "Also making things fun for Bingo and Chase, (All four of the kids laugh) with all the time they share."
Bluey and Jenny are shown to be decorating some kind of tree house in a backyard. "It's not imaginary, (Bluey and Jenny look out the window with Jenny giving a peace sign and Bluey leaning on the window) it's Bluey and Jenny."
Judo was shown coming downstairs on a saturday morning as she noticed her mum getting ready to leave, confusing her a bit as she went over to her. She and her mother were supposed to spend the day together, so she felt it wouldn't hurt to ask what was going on. "Mum, why are you getting dressed for work? I thought you had the day off."
Wendy felt bad for leaving her kid at home, wishing she didn't have to let her down like this. "I'm sorry Judo. I got a call last minute that half of my co-workers at the orphanage caught the flu. Apparently they got it from one of the kids yesterday. I'm afraid we'll have to postpone our day together." Judo was upset about this with Wendy kissing her forehead and promising to make it up to her. "I promise that the next time I have the day off, we'll hang out."
Judo sighed and figured that she couldn't get her mum to just skip work, so she decided to just accept it. "Fine. I guess Bluey wouldn't mind having me over. Even if Jenny's there."
"Oh, I'm aware of what Jenny's like." Wendy remembered Jenny from Halloween and wasn't very fond of what she had to offer in terms of personality. "Though, I'm kind of in a rush, and your usual babysitter's on vacation, so I don't have any other options." Judo felt that wasn't SO bad. At least she'd get to see Bluey outside of school again.
Bandit was setting up a swing for Bluey, Jenny, and Bingo with Judo coming into the backyard and asking what he was doing. "What're you doing Bluey's dad?"
"Oh, hey Judo." Bandit greeted Judo, finishing the swing as Bluey put some wrist sticking thing around his tail, making him snicker as he rubbed Bluey's head. "Bluey. (Looks at Judo) I'm making this swing for the kids. Apparently they're gonna play something called, Butterflies. Not sure what it's about."
Judo took notice to Jenny, having never been particularly fond of her, if their last interaction was any indication. "Jenny."
"Judo." Jenny looked at Bluey with great annoyance in her eyes. "Bluey, if your friend goes out of line I'm kicking her ss."
"It's not like I even planned on coming over today." Judo crossed her arms as she walked past Bluey. "My mum had to go to work on her day off because one of the orphans was an idiot and got some of the other workers sick. And if it weren't for my deadbeat dad, I'd still be at home playing video games."
"What's a deadbeat?" Bingo asked Bluey, not quite sure what deadbeat referred to and being curious about what it was.
"From what I know, it's someone who either doesn't contribute to the family, or abandons the family all together." Bluey explained, and then Judo started to get angry.
Judo wasn't about to discuss her family life and didn't want Bingo asking questions, so she put her foot down right there. "And in this case, it's not your business."
Bingo saw Judo's glare and backed up a bit with Bandit assuring her that this wouldn't escalate into a fight while he was home. "Well don't think about fighting about it, cause I'm not having any violence while I'm in charge. That means you too Jenny." Jenny gave Judo a death stare before giving Bandit a thumbs up, which led to him sighing as he walked off. "I'm gonna go do the laundry now. Have fun kids." Bandit went inside to get the clothes with Judo blowing a raspberry at Jenny, who punched her in the face with Bluey and Bingo breaking them up.
Judo was pretending to be a caterpillar as Bingo asked Jenny a question regarding what her dad was like. "Hey Jenny?" Jenny looked at Bingo, who hoped she wouldn't be upset with what she had to ask her. "Since your dad's not living with you anymore, does that mean he's also a deadbeat?"
"No believe it or not. My mum just won custody over my and Chase and she got a restraining order on him right after." Jenny explained, and then she expressed confusion as to why the situation was what it was. "I'm not sure why though. My dad wasn't abusive or anything, and we were still on good terms with him after we said goodbye. I wish mum would let us visit him."
Judo finished hatching with Bluey assuring Jenny that she'd talk to Ida about the situation. "I'll talk to Ida about it when she comes to pick you up. (Jenny smiles) For now, let's go and catch us a butterfly!" Bluey, Bingo, and Jenny chased after Judo, who was flapping like a butterfly while also trying to evade the three that were chasing her. Bingo was pretty easy due to being younger, but Bluey and Jenny were more of a challenge, and Jenny was clearly relentless. When Judo arrived at the clothesline to find Bandit hanging some clothes, Bluey caught her right there. "Got ya Judo."
Judo scoffed in annoyance as she denied Bluey having skill to avoid seeming less obvious. "You just got lucky. I could catch any of you just as fast."
"I wouldn't talk too big around Jenny if I were you Judo. She's really fast even for me." Bandit stated as he chuckled with a smile on his face, leaving Judo to get an idea as she looked at Jenny, who raised an eyebrow towards her in response.
Jenny was taking her turn as the butterfly with Judo talking to Bluey about why she hangs out with her all the time while she was in the caterpillar phase. "Alright Bluey, real talk here. Jenny is the most violent kid in school and also has no shame in showing how gross she can be. Why do you hang out with her all the time?"
"Maybe cause she offers more than what you just said?" Bluey asked, knowing that Judo was just one of the many who were ignorant to who Jenny was. "You're right, but when she's not being provoked or challenged to fights or anything like that, she's the most loyal friend you could ask for." Judo thought about what Bluey just told her with the Blue Heeler assuring her that she knew what she was doing. "Trust me. If I just saw Jenny as a bratty, broken girl, I would've left her long ago."
Judo had to admit that she saw Bluey's point with Jenny calling out that she was a butterfly when she noticed that Bluey and Judo weren't watching. "I'm pretty sure there were more butterfly chasers around the garden!" Bluey and Judo noticed that Bingo was gone and saw Jenny running away from her, leaving Jenny to call out to them again. "Butterfly Jenny wins so far!" Bluey and Judo nodded, chasing after Jenny who then started flapping quickly with Bingo also chasing after her, leading to Jenny jumping up onto the support beams of the patio.
Jenny was balancing on the patio beam with Judo calling out what she was doing. "Hold it! Butterflies don't balance on patios!"
"And Wendy Spitz doesn't whine about nothing like her daughter is right now." Jenny taunted playfully, and then Judo got mad and did the same with Bluey signalling her not to. As she tried to balance alongside Jenny, only to slip and fall off, leaving Bluey to catch her thanks to her quick thinking. Jenny took notice to this and jumped down to see if she was alright with Bingo also checking on her. "You okay?"
"Like you care!" Judo snapped, and then she walked inside with Jenny being confused, leaving Bluey to shrug as she went inside to talk to her.
Bingo saw that Jenny felt like she was being judged with Bluey nodding to her while smiling, knowing she'd know what to do, and Bingo just said the first thing that came to mind. "Jenny, would you like to join me in the treehouse for a dance party?" Jenny smiled and fist bumped Bingo before walking off with her to do this dance party.
Judo was sitting on Bluey's couch as Bluey sat down next to her in the hopes that she could talk to her. "You've been in somewhat of a bad mood since you got here Judo. Is there anything you wanna get off your chest?"
Judo sighed, feeling bad about being a total mood since she arrived, hoping Bluey wouldn't think less of her for it. "I'm sorry Bluey. It's just that I was planning on spending the day with my mum, but she got called in because some of her co-workers got sick." Judo thought about how she reacted to Jenny, knowing that her concern was genuine now that she thought about it. "I got really mad after that, and now here I am taking it out on you, your sister, and your best friend."
Bluey understood where Judo was coming from, but she also knew that she couldn't just say her behavior was perfect. "Look Judo, I'd be upset too if something interfered with my plans. I can at least understand that part at least. Still, that doesn't give you the right to snap at Jenny just for seeing you were okay. Though I think the mum jab had something to do with that one."
Judo understood that Bluey was just trying to be fair and had a question in mind regarding Bluey's friendship with Jenny. "Can I ask you something?" Bluey tapped her ears to confirm that she was ready to listen, and Judo went ahead and asked her question. "I know you explained why you were so close with Jenny earlier, but I still don't get it. What is it that you see in her that no one else does?"
Bluey thought for a moment with Bandit coming in with a beer can as Bluey asked him a question. "Hey dad, can I borrow your telescope?"
"Sure. Just be careful with it." Bluey nodded in understanding with Bandit sitting down to relax after doing all the chores around the house. "And now, my daily beer can." Bandit opened the beer can and started chugging it down with joy and relaxation.
Bluey set up the telescope and made sure it was aimed at Jenny and Bingo in the treehouse with Jenny helping Bingo get into the rythem of a dance. Jenny was currently helping Bingo get the hang of the twirling move, as she was struggling with it, leaving Bluey to signal Judo to look intot he telescope. Judo saw Jenny helping Bingo as Bingo was starting to get better, getting excited and showing Judo that maybe Jenny wasn't as brash as everyone thought. "See? Jenny's not as bad as some people think she is. She just has this bad girl reputation to protect her brother."
Judo knew she could believe what Bluey was saying as Bluey then told her something that Jenny tells to whoever figures this out. "Don't tell anyone else though. Jenny would probably cream me if she found out I told you at all."
"I doubt she would cream you if what you said about her just now is true;" Judo admitted, but decided she wasn't gonna bust Bluey for it. "but I'll take your word for it."
Judo looked at Jenny and Bingo again with Bingo having gotten the hang of the twirling move, jumping up and down while clapping as Bluey spoke up. "Ya ready?" Judo nodded her head yes, being glad that Bluey showed her what Jenny's nice side could be about.
Jenny and Bingo were still dancing in the treehouse as Bluey came up with Judo, nodding to her as she came up and walked over to Jenny and Bingo. She walked over to them and knew that she wasn't gonna have that easy of a time if she expected forgiveness from Jenny so easily. "Hey Jenny." Jenny and Bingo stopped dancing as Judo rubbed her arm with guilt. "I'm sorry I snapped at you outside. I was mad about my plans with my mum being cancelled and I took it out on you."
Jenny looked at Bluey, who nodded her head yes with a smile, leaving Jenny to smile as she made her reply. "It's not like I wouldn't have been mad myself. And I guess I'm also...that word, about taunting you with your mum."
Judo snickered a bit at how Jenny made her apology, finding it to be weird, but also funny. "That word?"
"I'm...not used to using it seriously." Jenny admitted, and Bluey came up to them being glad that Jenny and Judo made up.
Bluey started thinking about what they could do with Bingo having an idea of her own. "Bluey, now that Jenny and Judo are getting along, what if we all played ghost butterflies with the white towels dad hung up earlier?"
"Now there's an idea. Cmon girls, let's get to work!" Bluey led Bingo, Jenny, and Judo out of the treehouse as the four of them went over to the clothesline to get the white towels for their game.
Bandit was still relaxing on the couch as he heard ghost-like noises from the girls, catching onto what they were playing and deciding to join in. He got up and started acting as if he was frightened by the idea of ghosts in the house. "Oh my. Such spooky sounds. I wonder wherever they could be coming from." Bluey and the others giggled wehn they noticed Bandit chiming in as Bandit went into the kitchen, where Jenny was hiding behind a dresser and Bandit was walking over to the kitchen while still intentionally over-acting as the sounds continued. "Oh, how frightful."
Bluey and Bingo came in from the kitchen with Judo coming onto the counter and jumping onto Bandit's face, making him start shouting and laughing as he tried to get Judo off of him with Bluey, Bingo, and Jenny charging at Bandit. "Get off me you savage ghost!" Bluey, Bingo, and Jenny barraged Bandit and pinned him to the gorund as he pretended to shout for help due to being attacked by four savage ghosts. "Ah, help me! The savage ghosts are attacking me in my own house!"
Bandit started shaking the ghosts off with Bluey and Bingo holding on tightly to Bandit's arms as he waved around them while pretending to do it in slow motion. As this was happening though, Jenny and Judo caught him with a giant butterfly net, making him fall to the ground again as everyone laughed with his shouting heard from outside. "Somebody help! The ghosts captured me!"
