Bluey and Jenny
Season one Episode nineteen: Jenny's Family
A Blue Heeler was shown in her bed as a German Shepherd about her age jumped on top of her, making her laugh with upbeat music playing. "Bluey and Jenny, (Bluey and Jenny fall out of bed while laughing) they're rarely seen without the other." Bluey and Jenny are shown to be in school wth a red heeler riding on Bluey's back, and a younger German Shepherd on Jenny's back. "Both are older sisters, (Jenny lifts her leg with Bluey gagging while laughing, Bingo just gagging, and the other German Shepherd laughing) as well as best friends forever."
Bluey and Jenny were shown to be walking through the forest with Bluey looking around in amazement. "Bluey is the truster, (Jenny is shown slashing at leaves with her sword) Jenny is the tomboy, (Bluey and Jenny find an amazing view of their town and look over it) they can make quite the pair." Bluey and Jenny are shown to be playing with Bingo and the younger German Shepherd as Jenny cuts down a bag of candy from a rope. "Also making things fun for Bingo and Chase, (All four of the kids laugh) with all the time they share."
Bluey and Jenny are shown to be decorating some kind of tree house in a backyard. "It's not imaginary, (Bluey and Jenny look out the window with Jenny giving a peace sign and Bluey leaning on the window) it's Bluey and Jenny."
Jenny and Chase were sleeping with Chase yawning as he woke up and noticed that Jenny was still fast asleep when he looked over at her bed. Since it was a school day, it was Chase's job to wake Jenny up in case she slept in. He nudged her a bit, only for Jenny to cut a fart in her sleep, one that reeked of rotten eggs and made Chase cover his nose (phhht). Chase laughed with Jenny recognizing it in an instant, waking up and knowing what Chase was doing by her bed. "School day?" Chase nodded his head yes with Jenny hopping out of her bed as she left the room with her younger brother.
Jenny and Chase went downstairs with Chase getting a whiff of the fresh air as Jenny got a look at her living room. There were beer stains on the couch, and also torn up couch cushions, and some of the pictures were shattered. There were also a couple of broken toys, one of which used to be a favorite of Chase's. Jenny knew she was responsible for some of the damage due to her anger, but she didn't feel like mourning right now, so she walked out of the dirty living room and into the kitchen.
The kitchen was thankfully much cleaner with Ida cooking breakfast for her kids, and she then noticed that her daughter and son had arrived downstairs. "Well now. Guess I didn't have to come in with the airhorn this time."
"You never did." Jenny snarked, and then she got a good look at what Ida was making, catching a particular eye on the bacon and drooling a bit when she smelt it. "Oh yeah, that's gonna be good."
Ida was glad to be pleasing her daughter, but she also had to talk to Jenny about something, looking at Chase as she continued cooking. "Chase, can you go outside for a bit sweetie? I have to speak with your sister about something."
"Okay mum." Chase was about to head outside before whispering something to Jenny, having a feeling this would mean trouble. "Good luck."
Chase then went outside as Ida started talking to Jenny, who leaned on the fridge as soon as Chase went outside, knowing that she wasn't going to like what she had to say. "Alright Jenny. I know you're not gonna like this, but I have to go to work early to get the arcade up and running for a birthday party, so Duke's gonna be driving you to school today."
"And you couldn't get Bandit to drive me?" Jenny asked with annoyance with Ida sighing as Jenny expressed her loathe for Duke. "You do realize I hate your boyfriend with every fiber of my being, right?"
"Jenny, come on."
"He doesn't respect me or Chase at all. He's a d!ckhole."
"He can be old fashioned-"
"Yeah. An old fashioned d!ckhole."
Ida knew talking to her daughter wasn't going to be easy, especially since they could rarely agree on everything nowadays. "Listen to me Jenny. I moved on from your dad, and I can tell you that Duke is a good man."
"Dad is a good man." Jenny retorted, wishing she had the ability to stay in contact with her father. "Duke can't replace him just because you want him to."
"Jenny, that's not fair." Ida was starting to lose patience with Jenny regarding her sass. "Sometimes, we need to make room in our hearts for other people."
Jenny wasn't having it, making her retort as soon as Ida finished talking and walking over to the entrance to the kitchen. "And sometimes, when we're incredibly desperate, and lonely, we choose the absolute wrong kind of people to add into our hearts; mum."
Ida was surprised to hear Jenny say something like that to her, even if she was right about what she said. She didn't think it applied to her and Duke's relationship though, and she decided that reasoning with Jenny was the best approach. "I'm trying Jenny. And I expect you to try to get along with Duke-"
"Like I'd let the drunk, army power abusing deadbeat get within fifteen feet of me."
"...when he takes you to school today."
Jenny crossed her arms and started thinking to herself about what the best outcome would be. 'Mum's clearly trying to get a life for me and Chase that has stability and happiness. But do her efforts really matter if she's willingly dating someone that makes all three of us miserable upon sight? She doesn't even realize the damage he's causing our family!' Jenny decided that it was about time to let her mum know what she was feeling. "You want me to act like it's all fine? Well it's not! Duke doesn't treat me or Chase with respect, and until he does, I'm not giving him any satisfaction!"
Ida figured that was coming, ending the conversation then and there. "I'm gonna go get your brother. Hopefully, you'll see that this won't be the hell you consider it to be."
Ida went ouside with Jenny kicking the wall as soon as she went out to get Chase, being furious with her mum as she thought to herself about it. 'Why can't you see it mum? Duke isn't making you happy; he's just making our problems worse." Jenny knew how abusive and condescending Duke was. Why could Ida see it herself?"
Jenny was talking to Bluey on face-time when she was done getting ready for school with Bluey giving Bingo a piggyback ride to the car. "Wow, that's gotta be painful. Well just try not to let him get to you Jenny. Keep your cool and save any insults you have planned for him for when you get to school. The last thing you wanna do is cause a car crash."
Jenny wished it was that easy. Ever since she and Duke met, Jenny despised him almost immediately. She expressed her reluctance as Chase came in with his backpack. "Let's hope I can pull it off. It should be easy, so long as he doesn't look at me weird. Or tries to give me army tips when I don't want them."
Bluey was in the car as she put her seatbelt on and finished up her call with Jenny. "Just stay in your happy place, maybe use Chase as a vessel for your distraction. Whatever vessel means. Anyway, I gotta go, you know how my parents don't like me using this in the car. Something about car sickness? See you at school!"
Jenny waved goodbye to Jenny as Chase handed her the keys to the car and tried to cheer her up. "It's not like you're driving with him alone Jenny. I'll be there to make sure things don't go crazy." Jenny rubbed her brother's head with a grateful smile as she and Chase left the house and looked at the car. Jenny couldn't stand to look at that noxious pile of garbage. The car was okay though. At least it looked like it functioned properly.
Duke was lying down by the car with a toolbox saw Jenny and Chase walking over to him and complained about how long they were taking. "Why do you brats always take os long to get ready?"
"We're hoping you adults will leave (Throws keys to Duke, who catches them) without us." Jenny snarked, and then Duke pointed to the ground sternly in an attempt to make Jenny and Chase go over to him, making Jenny clench her fists with noticeable rage. 'No mum. I swear he beat himself to death with that socket wrench. Repeatedly."
Jenny and Chase walked over to Duke with Jenny noticing that he was using the toolbox as a coaster. Jenny knew Duke didn't have a job yet, so she couldn't help questioning why he had one. "Since when do you fix cars?"
"I don't, but if I ever decide to get a job I might get into mechanic stuff." Duke explained, and then he brought up something about his own life. "My dad was a mechanic before I moved out. My brothers got all the attention. They were brats, just like you were."
Jenny didn't buy this, seeing that Duke was clearly wasting his life and that his sob story didn't fit with that. "You sure they didn't kick you out for being a deadbeat that crashes on people's couches rent free?"
Chase was shocked to find Jenny making that comment with Duke slapping her across the face, not at full force, but strong enough to send her back a bit. Jenny held back the tears forming inside of her and glared at Duke, who realized what he did, looking inside desperately and then looking back at Jenny as he spoke up. "Look, you were asking for that. You don't just insult someone when-"
"Don't you EVER, touch me like that again!" Jenny snapped at Duke, getting into his face as she finished what he was saying. "This will be the last time, or I'm calling the cops. Mackenzie's mum is a cop and she will backhand your ss!"
"But you hate that Mackenzie kid."
"She helped us when Manny took Bingo's Halloween candy, she'll help with this."
Jenny got into the car with Chase comforting her as they got in as Jenny continued to hold her cheek with Duke getting into the driver's seat. Jenny was begging for Duke to not want to talk as she thought to herself about the situation. 'Please don't wanna talk, please don't wanna talk, please don't wanna talk.' Duke drove off as fast as he could, making Jenny relieved that he didn't wanna waste her time. 'Thank God.'
Chase looked through his backpack and pulled out an ice cream, smiling as he handed it to Jenny, who happily rubbed Chase's head and opened it up before Duke spoke up. "Hey! Where'd you get that ice cream!?"
"None of your bidness. Now watch the road." Jenny started eating the ice cream with Duke growling in anger as Jenny commented on his situation. "Ya know Duke, maybe if you got some anger management classes and maybe even some therapy, you wouldn't be so broken and resort to hitting your step-kids."
"Do you want me to backhand you!?" Jenny signalled Chase to give her something hard, so she handed him a toy block, which she used to smack Duke on the head. This caused Duke to go out of control for a bit before he regained his control of the car and kept driving while yelling at Jenny. "You little b!tch! I almost went on the other side of the road!"
"Go f^ck yourself!" Jenny shouted at Duke, and the two continued shouting at each other as Chase put his headphones in, turning up some rock music as he ignored the commotion.
Duke parked in front of the school with Jenny getting out at the same time he did with Chase following behind her. "And if you EVER make us go out of control like that again, I'll beat your #ss so hard that-"
Jenny kicked Duke in the nuts and made him fall over before punching him in between his eyes before walking off. "EAT SH!T AND DIE #SSHOLE!"
Jenny ran off with Chase walking up to Duke, grabbing his face and cutting a squeaky fart into his nose that hit him with a chocolate scent (phht). He then flipped Duke before he went after Jenny. "F^ck you Duke."
Chase ran off as he spotted Jenny with Bluey and Bingo as the former was listening to her talking about what happened before they got in the car. "So then I told him that it could be because he's a worthless slouch, so then he slapped me, and I bet you ten dollar bucks mum was watching from the window."
Bluey and Bingo felt horrible for what Jenny had to bare with Bluey rubbing her shoulder as she assured her things would work out. "If he ever does that in front of me, I'm not just gonna sit there and watch." Jenny hugged Bluey, who wrapped her arm around Jenny as they went inside with their siblings. "Cmon. Let's find something to take your mind off of it once we get to class. Maybe Mackenzie won't be a jerk today?" Jenny would like that, and she thought the latter could happen too, since Mackenzie hadn't been quite as annoying since Halloween.
Bluey and Jenny were eating at the same table they usually do with Rusty sitting next to Jenny as he noticed how angry she was, since she was stabbing her fried chicken with a fork. "Are you okay Jenny?" Jenny made one final stab into her chicken as she let out a long sigh, not wanting to talk about what happened earlier today. "It's just that you usually EAT your chicken rather than stab it a bunch of times."
Jenny knew Rusty was just trying to be a good friend and didn't want to lash out at him. He really was a sweet guy. It's just a shame Jenny wasn't as interested in him as he was in her. She decided it'd be best ot just keep calm in her response. "Let's just say my step-dad is an abusive f^ck and my mum is in denial."
Rusty looked at Bluey, who shrugged as she then got an idea on how to make Jenny feel better. "Ya know Jenny, we never did get around to finishingthat game we were all playing where we pretended to live in our own little town." Jenny caught onto what Bluey was getting at with Bluey being more than happy to finish her statement after seeing her look at her. "What do you say we get all of our classmates together to finish what we started?"
Jenny took a liking to that idea. Bluey really did know her better than anyone else. Then again, pretty much everyone had a blast with that game. "That'd be awesome."
"Don't need to convince me. I'm all for it." Rusty assured Bluey and Jenny, and the three of them headed off to talk the others into it. "I'll head over to Indy's table. I was watching her baby when we were last playing."
"Sounds good." Bluey alrady knew which table she was going for. "I'm going for Mackenzie's table, since he's got a major crush on me."
"Guess that leaves me with Coco's." Jenny responded, and the three headed off to convince everyone to continue their game.
