Chapter 3
On the way back to the Iki Town, Ash has been grabbing Lillie's arm while they walk, but neither of them are talking, because they are blushing at what the others are doing. Once they are there, they see Kukui waving to them. "Hey, Ash, Golly. Looks like you missed the kahuna, yeah? But you found my assistant, oh yeah!"
"Assistant? Wait, you are Professor Kukui's assistant?" Ash looks at her and then the Professor with a state of shock. "Wow, I never knew about that..."
"Looks like you already met, but just in case, this is my assistant." Professor Kukui assures them with a smile.
"Oh...um...yes! You can call me Lillie." Lillie stutters.
"And, Lillie, this is Ash and his sister Golly, they just moved here to Alola! Take good care of them!" Kukui says.
Lillie nods and says, "So...you are also one of the Professor's acquaintances? It's nice to meet you..."
Ash thinks, "Just by the way she is speaking, my heart is fluttering again...is because she was Serena?" Ash thinks that he can't just only thinking, so he decides to take this chance. "Actually, Lillie...if it is possible, can I ask you some questions?"
But before Lillie can even reply, they hear the villagers' voices, "The kahuna is back! Kahuna Hala has returned!" "Our guardian's chosen one is back!" "Only one of the strongest Pokemon users in all Alola, yeah!"
A man wearing blue shirt with a yellow coat walks towards the group, and then he says, "Have I missed something?"
"Naw, but where'd you go off to, Kahuna? I thought we were meeting here." Kukui asks.
"I am kahuna of this island, after all. Whenever there is a problem on the island, it is my duty to resolve it." Hala says. And then he turns to Lillie. "Sorry Lillie. What were you saying before? For some reason I thought I saw Tapu Koko flying about..."
"Oh, um...Yes, Kahuna Hala...Nebby was being attacked by Spearow on the Plank Bridge when Ash helped it get away...But the Bridge collapsed, and I thought both of them might fall to the bottom of the ravine...And that was when the island's guardian deity swooped in to save them." Lillie says, but then she remembers the Prism Tower scene again, and she thinks, "That scene again...why is it showing me?"
"Woo! That's something you don't hear every day." Kukui says.
"Ho! Although it is said to protect us, our Tapu Koko is a rather fickle creature. Yet our guardian was moved to save you." Hala says to Ash, who doesn't seem to be surprised. "Yeah, just because I am Arceus...the one who created those kind of Legendaries..." He thinks.
"Kukui, my boy, I think we have cause to celebrate." Hala says. "It seems I should entrust these brave and kind young children with a Pokemon on their own. We'll make a fine trainer out of them. By the way, I don't think I have your names."
"I am Ash and this is my partner Pikachu." Ash says as Pikachu waves his little paws.
"And I am Golly, I am Ash's sister." Golly says.
Hala nods, "I'm glad to meet you, children. I am Hala, the kahuna of Melemele Island. Welcome to Alola. Young Kukui and Aurora have told me of your coming. I am glad we got the chance to meet today."
"So you know our mother?" Golly asks.
"Of course, she is quite famous in the Alola Region as well." Hala then takes out three Pokeballs and says, "Now come, my Pokemon. Let;s have a look at you."
Then he sends out three Pokemon, which are the Starter Pokemon of the Alola Region. All three of them are standing in front of them as Ash and Golly are amazed.
"First is the Grass Type Pokemon Rowlet." Rowlet just turns its body around after introducing itself.
"Then the Fire-type Pokemon, Litten." Litten just jumps and then it licks its paws.
And the Water Type Pokemon Popplio." It just claps its hands and then its tail.
"Which Pokemon will you guys glad to take?" Hala asks.
Ash looks at the Pokemon and then he has its eyes on the Litten. "I think I choose this Litten." He hugs the Pokemon and says. "I think it is cool."
"And I wanted to be a Ghost Type Pokemon Master, so I want to pick Rowlet." Golly just picks the Pokemon up and says.
"I see. Only when you have both chosen each other can you truly call each other partners." Then Ash and Golly go to the respective Pokemon and then the two Starter Pokemon gets close to them, and then they gladly join them.
"So they both have accepted you as well." Hala says. "Having accepted one another, you'll surely be friends for life." Kukui replies.
Lillie says, "It is nice to meet you too, Rowlet, Litten." Unknown to them, Nebby is just crawling by and it is spotted by the two Starter Pokemon. "Oh! When did you get out again? I know that Kahuna Hala and the Professor will keep you safe from any harm, but you should still stay in the bag and out of sight. It's safer that way."
She turns to them and says, "I think you chose a wonderful Pokemon. Please take very good care of them."
"I take that as a compliment, don't worry about it. We will take care of them well." Ash says.
"And here is a lovely gift from me to help make it special, cousin." Then Kukui give each of them a Pokedex. Ash's is red and Golly's is pink. "A Pokedex is a real high-tech kinda tool, yeah, that can automatically record facts about any Pokemon that you meet. Your new partner Litten and Rowlet are already registered, oh yeah, so check it out."
Then he also takes out two books and then gives them each one. "And these are the Trainer Passports that I had put together for you. Now why don't you go introduce your new friends to your mother?" Kukui asks.
"You're right, we should go find her." Golly says.
Once they are leaving the town, they see a boy rushing to Ash and says, "Hey! You and me! Let's have a Pokemon battle!"
"Dahahaha! Where's the fire, boy?" Hala says. "And what kind of a Pokemon battle would that be where you don't even give a name first, eh?"
"Fair enough." The boy says. "I am Hau, and this is my partner Rowlet." As he shows them, Ash says, "So you have a Rowlet as well."
"Your Litten and Pikachu are really cool, too." Hau says as he puts his arms back of his head. "Yeah, so let's battle. And I couldn't wait for you to find your way to Iki Town, so I've been all over looking for you!"
"Um...I don't really like to see Pokemon battles where Pokemon can get hurt...but I'll watch for you." Lillie says.
"Oh yeah, your first battle here in Alola already, just have your Pokemon dish out some moves and see who wins. Woo!" Kukui says.
Hala says, "I appreciate you being willing to take on my grandson here. I expect a no-holds-barred battle from the both of you."
"Sure." Ash says as he sends out Litten to battle. Hau sends out the Rowlet as Hala becomes the referee. Litten uses the Ember to Rowlet, causing it to be burned, but it uses Leafage to counter back. In the end, Rowlet is defeated with the Scratch.
"Hoo-ee! That gave me chicken skin! Ash, right? Your Litten was awesome! Now that settles it! I am going all out tomorrow!"
"Tomorrow? Is something going to happen tomorrow?" Golly asks in confusion, but all of them are interrupted by Ash's pocket, which is glowing. "What the?" Ash takes out the Sparkling Stone and Hala widens his eyes. "Huh? Ash, would you be so kind as to give me a look at that sparkling stone you have there?"
"Sure." Ash gives it to Hala and then he says, "Could it be?!"
Hau also notices it and says, "Tutu...isn't that..."
"You were rescued by Tapu Koko at the bridge-isn't that what I heard, Ash?" Hala asks.
"Yeah." Ash says. "And then it dropped the stone..."
"So it even deigned to give you a stone... Perhaps you are here in Alola, Ash, because this is where you are meant to be. Allow me to borrow this stone for a while. Fret not! I'll return it to you tomorrow evening." Hala says. "It would seem that you have the makings of a fine trainer. You must do us the honor of joining in our festival tomorrow."
"Sure." Ash says as Kukui says, "But first, I'll make sure you get back home safe today, though, Ash, Golly. Lillie, you should come with us as well. Wouldn't want to go losing you twice in one day. You or that precious Pokemon of yours."
"Yes...I will keep an eye on..." Lillie says as Nebby pops out of the bag again. "Oh, you! Would you not try to escape the very moment that you were told not to wander off?" This causes everyone to laugh a little.
At the same time, Aurora is having a cup of tea at the beach, until she notices a shadow looming over her. She looks up and finds that a helicopter is approaching, she knows far too well about the mark on the helicopter.
But the one who goes out of the helicopter is no other than Serena's mother, Grace. Aurora smiles and says, "Why Lusamine. It is great to see you again."
Then Grace glows and she changes into a blonde haired woman which looks similar to Lillie. This is Lusamine Aether, the boss of the Aether Foundation, as well as the Giratina in disguise. She is a close friend of Aurora Delia Ketchum, due to the fact that they are both Legendary Pokemon who have their own children, and the fact that they are influential figures across the world as well.
"It sure is nice to see you again, Delia, or should I call you Aurora?" The two of them laugh a while, and they share a sisterly hug. "But surely, what brings you here to my house?" Aurora asks.
"I heard that you manage to bring Ash and Golly here to this region, so I decide to come visit and then go to the Aether Foundation to check out my daughter Lillie, or Serena in your boy's eyes." Lusamine smiles.
"I see, but Ash and Golly are not home now, since Professor Kukui has taken them to meet the Kahuna Hala." Aurora says. "Do you want to have some tea while we are waiting?"
"I don't see why not." Lusamine says as she follows Aurora into the house.
And Ash and Golly get the new Pokemon each. And this journey with be Ash and Lillie alone. In the next chapter, Serena's mother will come for a visit and then Lillie is going to have some shock.
