Chapter 5
in the next day, Ash and Golly are training at the yard until they hear the door bell. Golly says, "I think it is your girlfriend again."
Ash blushes and says, "Aren't you too soon to say that?"
"Maybe, but you should go find her now." Ash sighs as he and Golly go to the door and greet her.
"Hey, Lillie. How are you last night?" Ash asks as Lillie smiles, "Ever since I know that my Mother's kindness hasn't disappeared...I feel my heart becoming lighter..."
"Good for you." Ash says. "So what brings you here?"
"Um...the professor said..."Hey there, Lillie! Bring me that great new Trainer. Woo!"" Lillie tries to mimic the Professor's voice as the three of them laugh in the end.
"So I'm here to show you the way to his Pokémon lab, if you'll come with me. It's, um... It's this way." Lillie says.
Aurora then comes out and says, "Ash, Golly, I forgot to give you these pocket money. Remember don't go wasting it on anything too silly. Especially you, Golly."
"Huh? What did I do?" Golly asks innocently.
"You bought a lot of clothes and we had to purchase a new cabinet for you." This causes Ash and Pikachu to burst into laughter as Golly blushes. Then Lillie and Sylveon also giggles a little and Aurora notices her.
"Oh, Lillie. It is good to see you again, where is your mother?" Aurora asks.
"Well...she is back to Kalos...but she will be contacting with Wicke to know more about what her evil version is doing..." Lillie says.
"I see. Now it is time for you to shine, Ash. Don't get far away too long." Aurora says as Ash nods. "I know. Mother."
After Aurora goes back into the room, Lillie says, "You...have a very nice mother, don't you? We should get going. I'll show you to the Pokémon Research Lab."
"Why thanks." Golly says as they all go to the lab, which is near the ocean and on the way, they capture some new Pokemon. He found a Ledyba who is very shy, but with the help of Pikachu and Sylveon, it manages to get along with the others and he joins the team. And then he spots a new Pokemon and it seems to be chasing some Rattata.
"What is that, Lillie?" Ash asks.
"That is a Yungoos, and also a heavy eater as well." Lillie says, "Kinda like you."
"Huh?" Ash blushes as Golly, Pikachu and Sylveon laugh very hard. "That is so true." Golly says.
"But how do you know about it, does that mean you start to remember what you did as Serena?" Ash asks as Lillie flinches, the three also stop laughing as they never thought of that.
"I...is it a good thing?" Lillie asks.
"Of course." Ash says, "Now you just need to remember some more."
Lillie nods and then they finally reach the lab. "I wonder why there are a lot of tall grass near the lab?" Golly asks.
"He says he can research moves better when he is so surrounded by Pokémon. Since I was not a Trainer, though, I had to rely on using Repels all the time. You do know that using Repel keeps Pokémon from attacking, right?"
"Yeah. But you are now a Pokemon and also a trainer since I am sure that I gave you all the Pokemon you used to own." Ash says.
"Yeah." Lillie says. Then she starts to switch the topic, "A-and about Nebby... Oh. I mean...Cosmog. Cosmog seems to be a very rare Pokémon. It came from far, far away. It seems to have a very strange power... It used that power to save me once when I was in danger. But some...other people want Cosmog for themselves, to use that power. That's why only the professor and Kahuna Hala and other people I can trust know about it... Can you keep a secret? Can you not tell anyone else about Nebby or what happened on that bridge? Please..."
As Nebby is shaking in her bag, Ash says, "Of course, we will help you with that."
While in the beach, Ash also captures a Slowpoke and a Wingull as they feel attached to him, then they hear the noise from the lab.
"Ahh... There they go again..." Lillie sighs.
"What again?" Ash asks.
"Oh yeah, Rockruff! Let's go! Give it everything you've got! My body is ready! Woo!" They hear the sound of Kukui inside the lab, Lillie frowns, "The Pokémon Research Lab has its own unique charm, as I think you might agree. I've actually been, um, imposing on the professor here for the past three months. I'm not much of an assistant, but it's the least I can do to pay him back for letting me stay. Maybe I'd be more help if I were a real Pokémon Trainer, too..."
"But now you are a real Pokemon Trainer, so you can help out." Golly says. And then they hear the bark of the Rockruff.
"The professor... He never stops researching moves. Not even...inside the lab itself." Then they see a rock break through the roof and falls in front of them.
"Looks like we'll have to patch the roof again..." Lillie says. "And I had just washed his lab coat and finally gotten it clean, too. Now it'll be in shreds... and I'm no good at mending clothes... so he'll just have to buy another new one..."
"We should probably go in before he does any more damage..." Ash says as they all head inside.
Inside the lab, they see that it is much like a house rather than the Lab they knew in the Kanto Region. And then Kukui notices them and he greets them. "Hey there, Ash, Golly. Thanks for getting them for me, Lillie."
"Of course. However I can be a help... I am supposed to be your assistant, right?" Lillie says with a shy tone.
"But what is actually that?" Golly asks, "We heard the large sound from outside."
"Oh, Rockruff's moves were just so stylin', and I was making good progress with my research. Say, Ash, Golly, lemme see your Pokedex for a second, yeah?"
"Sure." Ash says as they hand the Pokedexes. Kukui then asks, "So what do you think of this place? Not bad, right? But that's not why I called you here, eh?"
Just then, the lights are flickering and Rockruff feels a little scared as the others are looking around. Kukui says, "Here. It finally arrived."
"Arrived?" Ash asks.
Kukui turns to Lillie, who is confused. "What's wrong, Lillie? Don't make me do all the talking! See, there's this Pokemon inside your Pokedex called Rotom..."
"Oh, I can tell you about Rotom. It is a peculiar Pokémon, with a body made up of something like electricity. It can take up residence in machines." Lillie says.
"It is also a Ghost Type Pokemon as well." Golly says with a smile.
"Yeah, and to put that crazy skill of Rotom's to work...It's the next generation of Pokedexes, but it's only complete once Rotom has gone into this body specially developed for it! A whole new way for people and Pokemon to communicate. Woo! And there's only a few of these beauties out in the world so far." Kukui explains. "And now if I power up your Pokedex with the parts that I just got in..."
Just then, the Rotom start flying around, surprising everyone in the room. Golly says, "Wow, Rotoms! And there are two of them!"
Kukui yells in the air, "Hey now! Sorry 'bout that, Rotom. Guess I surprised you? Here, I powered up your favorite dexes."
Just then, they fly into the Pokedexes and then they start to talk. "Language setting is done...User Ash/Golly, Alola."
"Alola to you as well." Ash and Golly say.
Kukui says, "Rotom, Give Ash and Golly here a helping hand, yeah?"
The Red one says, "Of course, we have equipped with a lot of things so we can help our trainer."
"That is awesome." Ash says.
"Awesome...information error...information error." The Purple one says.
Kukui laughs, "He means that you two are very good."
Red one says, "Awesome means good, which means that Rotom is good." As they float around, they all laugh for a while. Kukui says, "From what I can tell, yeah. It looks like Rotom has taken a liking to you."
"And this will help how exactly?" Lillie asks the Professor, and both Ash and Golly are also confused.
"Ash and Golly haven't been here in Alola too long yet. So I decided to give them the special Rotom Dexes to help them navigate around."
And then the Rotom start to take pictures of Pikachu and Rockruff, as well as the Sylveon. Ash asks, "What are you doing?"
"We have also equipped with the self-learning capability, so we can fully understand everything." Purple Rotom says.
"And for example. Pikachu: The Mouse Pokemon: Electric Type. It raises its tail to sense its surroundings. If you pull on its tail, it will bite." Rotom tries to pull on its tail, but then Pikachu just shocks him. "It doesn't bite, it will shoot out electricity!" Then it falls down on the floor as they are sweat dropping.
Kukui says, "Well, you can see where you are heading just by looking at Rotom, since there is a town map inside it."
"I see." Golly says. Just then, Hau walks into the lab and he says, "A-lo-la! The salty breeze sang to me and brought me here to you!"
"Good to see you again, Hau." Ash says, and then Hau notices a ladder.
"Whoa-ho-ho! Is that a loft?! That's awesome!" Hau tries to rush to the place, but Lillie quickly stops him and says, "No, it's not! It's private! The professor has been kind enough to let me use it..."
"If you see a person or a Pokemon who needs help, you just help them...Right, Ash?" Kukui asks.
"Of course, I do." Ash says. "And that is why you are letting Lillie stay up there in the loft?"
"Yeah. So Rotom, take care of those two, will you?"
The Rotom say in union, "Roger that, Roto."
"So that's the Rotom Dex, eh? It's kinda cute." Hau says.
"All right, there are some important things you need to know about the island challenge." Kukui says as they all gather to listen. "The island challenge is your chance to become the strongest Trainer around—the island challenge champion. Woo! It's a great adventure for you and your Pokémon to go on together!"
"There are four main islands that make up Alola, and a kahuna for each one of them. If you wish to be recognized by the kahunas as worthy, it's said you must clear seven trials." Lillie says.
"Seven, huh? Not like the normal eight I see..." Ash says.
"Ash, I want you and Pikachu to get out there and give it a shot. You were able to fully use your Pokemon moves in battle. I think you must have a talent for drawing out Pokémon's strengths, yeah."
"Then I am going to do it." Ash says.
"Oh yeah! As someone who's dedicated my life to studying Pokémon moves, I really want to see you out there meeting all kinds of Pokémon on your island challenge!" Kukui says. "Here! Everybody on the island challenge gets one of these island challenge amulets."
As they all get the amulets and then attached it to the bag, Hau says, "Now you have one as well. I got one from my gramps."
"All right then, Ash! you too, Hau! Get a move on!"
"OK." Ash says, then Golly asks, "By the way, shouldn't we go to the Trainers School?"
"Oh? The Trainer's School? You've gotta learn the basics of being a Pokémon Trainer through Pokémon battling. It's a long road to becoming the island challenge champion, and the Trainers' School is the first step!"
Ash says, "Actually, we are just going to deliver some things there to the Principal Samson Oak." Ash says. "Since we already have a lot of experience with the basics."
Golly says, 'What about you, Hau?"
"I'm good. I just wanna play with my Pokémon! I mean, uh, train with them. Right!"
"The island challenge... So this is how the people of Alola connect with the world around them." Lillie says.
Ash asks, "Professor, if it is possible, I want to have a joint account with Lillie, and I want to bring her with me along with my journey, is that okay?"
"Eh?" Lillie is blushing as Ash requests it, Kukui says, "Of course. I will help you with that, besides, I know that you two can take care of each other very well."
The two of them are blushing madly and Lillie says, "I...I don't want to be your burden, Ash..."
"You won't be, and besides, we already did it once, right? It is just that this time it is only the two of us and without Clemont and Bonnie." Ash says.
"Yeah..." Lillie says. Hau asks, "Who are Clemont and Bonnie?"
Golly says, "They are Ash's travel companions in the Kalos Region. Clemont is also an Electric Type specialist who has a gym in the Lumiose City."
"Wow...that is so amazing." Hau says.
After Kukui finishes the stuff, they all bid farewell as they go out of the lab, Lillie also prepared her stuff in her bag along with Nebby as they go together for now.
And now the journey is about to begin. Ash and Golly got the Rotom Pokedex, and the next chapter will be trainer's school and Pokemon Center. And for the Pokedex entry, I will put in the next chapter.
