Chapter 9
Ash and Lillie are now at Route 2, they come across a group of Growlithe leading by an Arcanine, and it is growling at them, causing Lillie to get a little scared. "Don't worry, Lillie. If we show them who we are, they won't be able to hurt us."
Then Ash tells them about their identity, and the group are surprised as they bow at the two of them. Then one Growlithe is interested in the two of them as it wants to join in their team, Ash says, "Sure, you can join us."
After tossing the Pokeball and sends it back out again, Ash wants Lillie to try pet the dog. But Lillie is nervous and a little scared, but with the help of Snowy and Sylveon, she finally did it without hesitation and the others are happy for her.
As they continue forward, they see a Drowzee as it starts to create flashy lights, Ash says, "Everyone, cover your eyes."
The others also does the same thing except for Ash, as he already activates his Dread Plate. Lillie asks, "Ash? What's wrong?"
"That Drowzee is going to hypnotize you, don't look at the light or you'll fall asleep." Ash says.
"But why is he doing this?" Pikachu asks.
"It likes to eat your dreams as food, if you fall asleep, it can have its feast." Ash says. "But the problem is that the way is blocked, what should we do?"
Lillie says, "Leave it to me." She fires a Shadow Ball, knocking out the Drowzee. Sylveon says, "Wow...you did a great job..."
Lillie looks at her hands and she says, "I can't believe I just did that..." Then she captures the Pokemon, much to their surprise. "Why are you capturing that Pokemon?" Snowy asks.
"I also heard that if you be friends with him, he will share the dream with you. I want to do that." Lillie says as Ash smiles at her.
Then they see a rustling grass, he sees a man standing over there as he says, "You two must be new to here, right? Careful out here. Haven't you seen the way the grass shakes on Route 2?"
"We did, but never did we see the way it shakes like that." Ash says.
"That rustling grass hides a Pokemon that is dying to pounce on some easy Trainer target! But battling those feisty creatures can be worth it-they sometimes drop items after battle." The man says.
"Then we should go check it out." Lillie says as they walk over there, and they find that it is a Makuhita. Ash sends out Ledyba to battle as he demands it to use String Shot while the Makuhita uses Focus Energy.
"Use Swift." The Pokemon shoots out the stars and then it hits Makuhita. Makuhita tries to use Arm Thrust, but Ledyba dodges the attack and finishes with Mach Punch. Ash also tosses the Pokeball and captures it.
"It seems like it drops an Oran Berry." Ash says as he gives the Ledyba to eat before recalling him. As for Lillie, she is looking at the Smeargle and she dodges before her skirt is tainted by the paint.
"Pangoro, come on out." As she sends out the Pokemon, she asks it to use Arm Thrust, causing the Smeargle to faint instantly before it reaches the group. Lillie also captures the Pokemon with ease.
"Lillie, I heard a scream, are you okay?" Ash rushes to her with worry, causing her to blush. "I am fine...it was just a Smeargle trying to paint my skirt...I think because it is white..."
"Where is that Smeargle?" Ash asks, then Pangoro shows up with the Pokeball in his hand. "I see..."
As they move forward, they see a Delibird and it asks them to follow him. As they did, they are inside the Berry fields and they see a man being surrounded by two Team Skull Grunts.
"You got a lame bunch of berries...Now Team Skull's your adversaries! Takin' Berrries off your hands is just the start of our plans, yo!" The first grunt says.
"Let's get Figy with it! Watch while I Nanab me some Berries!" The other grunt replies.
"I'll share my Berries for free with any Pokemon, but you'll not have a single one from me!" The man, who seems to be the owner of the berry fields, yells back.
"So, what? I am lower than a Pokemon?! I already got self-esteem issues, man!" The first grunt says.
"Hey, stop what you are doing!" "Yeah, that wasn't nice." Ash and Lillie rush into rescue as they yell at them.
"And what are you looking at, huh?! Huh? Huh? HUH?" With each Huh, the first grunt just gets closer and closer, but Ash isn't being fazed by such tactics. Then the first grunt says, "Yo, hold up, you're-!"
"You got a bone to pick with us, homie?" The second grunt says.
"You are the ones that tried to steal Ilima's Pokemon, right? I can't believe we met again." Lillie mocks at them.
"You two may have beat us at the Marina, but you won't be so lucky if we get serious, yo!" The second grunt says.
The man says, "I appreciate your concern, children. But these Team Skull punks do nothing but talk big and act small." The berry owner says. "You carry on with your island challenge. Don't give them a moment's notice."
"Yo, we're standing right here! At least act a little bit afraid or something, y'know?!" The first grunt says.
Ash and Lillie notice a Pokemon being angry just pop out from the berries, and Ash says, "I think we should take a step back before it attacks us." Lillie nods, but the two skull grunts didn't notice the angry crab Pokemon and the second grunt says, "Yo, you tryin' to run away? We're gonna hafta take your Pokemon along with the Berries! Yo, check out how hardheaded Team Skull Grunts can be!"
Just as they send out Drowzee, it is suddenly hit by the Bubble attack and the Rock Smash, causing it to faint easily. Ash says, "That Pokemon is strong, what is that?"
Rotom says, "It is a Crabrawler, the Boxing Pokémon. A Fighting type. Crabrawler is always aiming to be number one. Crabrawler will guard its weak spots with its claws in battle and throw punches, looking for an opening."
The skull grunts see how their Pokemon being destroyed, he yells, "Yo, I'm feelin' mad annoyed that my team just got destroyed by a wild Pokemon..."
The second grunt says, "Yo, for real?! You best stop trying to act hard, kid! Yo! I'm so annoyed right now, homie! Let's go mess with Ilima again."
"Aww yeah, let's do it! Verdant Cavern is pretty close by anyway. And you. You better listen to what my boy says and drill into that thick skull of yours! For real! You'd better not forget, numskull!"
After they leave, the man says, "Ho! That Crabrawler there did quite a number on him."
"I guess it doesn't like to be disturbed those guys while having a feast." Ash says as the Crabrawler walks towards the group, he shows the sign of coming at him, Ash says, "You want to battle?"
The Pokemon nods and Ash asks Sylveon to help him out. Sylveon agrees and it uses the Fairy Wind, but the Crabrawler dodges it and then uses Rock Smash, but Sylveon uses the feelers to block it.
"Use Moonblast." Ash yells as Sylveon fires the pink ball and then it hits the Crabrawler, causing it to faint in the end. Ash also tosses the Pokeball and then captures the Pokemon.
"Nice work, Sylveon." Lillie cheers for her Pokemon and it wraps its feelers around both Ash and Lillie, causing them to blush. The berry owner says, "That is a nice battle indeed. Before you leave, let me give you a tip. If you're ever looking for more Berries, you won't have to look Berry hard! Wa ha ha ha!"
Ash and Lillie sweat drop at the joke he mentioned, and he continues, "Berries grow like...well, like weeds here in Alola, so feel free to pick up any you find!"
"Okay, we will find them," Then they bid farewell to the owner as they continue their journey.
When they are continuing walking, Nebby pops out of Lillie's bag and floats away. "Hey, Nebby! Where are you going?"
The two of them chase him and then they find themselves at the Hau'oli Cemetery at night time, Lillie feels kinda scared and she asks, "Where is Nebby...I am kinda scared of this place..."
"I know, Lillie. But I think we saw him floating here." Just as they are searching, they hear a cry and then they see Nebby being surrounded by a Drifloon and a Misdreavus.
"Nebby!" Ash quickly covers Lillie's mouth, but it is too late, the two Ghost Type Pokemon notice them and then they start to go after them. "Lillie, you are a Ghost Type, they can do you a lot of damage."
"Then what should we do now?" Lillie says with a sacred tone as they are coming at them. Ash says, "I'll get Nebby, you try using your moves like Shadow Ball or Shadow Claw, they can do you a lot of damage doesn't mean you can't do them a lot of damage as well."
Lillie can only nod with horror as she closes her eyes, shooting Shadow Balls aimlessly, but eventually it hits both Pokemon as they fall down. Ash also gets hit, but due to the fact that it is a Normal Type, he doesn't take any damage and he brings Nebby back.
"Nebby. I am so worried about you, please get back into the bag." Nebby can only nod as he gets back into the bag. While Ash looks at the two fainted Pokemon and says, "Well, my only Ghost Type Pokemon is Gengar, I don't mind having another ones." Then he takes out two Pokeballs and captures the two Pokemon.
"Why did you capture them? Are you sure it is fine?" Lillie asks.
"And why isn't it fine?" Ash replies.
"Misdreavus eats fear as food, while Drifloon is said to drag children to the afterlife. They are spooky..."
"Those are just stories that the Pokedex made, it won't happen to us." Ash says as they decide to quickly leave the cemetery. Once they are out, they are very tired as they book a motel. But much to their surprise, there is only one master bed.
"A Master Bed..."Lillie mutters.
"Yeah, but this is the only room left for today...we aren't able to switch rooms." Ash says.
"Um...what should we do?" Lillie turns to Ash with a blush.
"I guess that I'll use the Sleeping Bag." Ash says as he decides to open his backpack, but Lillie stops him.
"No, I'll feel bad if you sleep on the floor. Why don't we share a bed together?" Lillie blushes as she asks.
"If you are fine...then I won't mind..." Ash is also blushing with the thought of sleeping with Lillie.
"I guess we should do it..." Lillie says as the two of them change into their pajamas and also take a shower. Once they are on the bed, Ash faces towards Lillie and says, "Good night, Lillie."
"Good night, Ash..." Lillie says as they close their eyes, trying to sleep.
Here is a new chapter, and this chapter is only a Pokemon hunting chapter and the trial is going to be in the next chapter. I hope you like it.
