Chapter 11
As they are leaving the cave, they see a Pokemon that looks like a Diglett standing in front of them. Ash says, "Wait, why does this Diglett looks different from the ones I saw?"
"That is an Alolan Diglett." Lillie replies, "I have read it on the book, it-"
"Hold on, let me explain, roto." Rotom says, "Diglett, Alolan Form, Ground and Steel Type. Its head sports an altered form of whiskers made of metal. When in communication with its comrades, its whiskers wobble to and fro."
Ilima says, "Indeed, its hair is also acting as sensors so that it can sense above the ground as well."
"That's so cool." Ash says as the Diglett tells them that he is amazed at the trial challenge and he wants to join in the group. Ash of course captures it in the end.
Once they are outside of the cave, Ilima says, "As you travel around the islands of Alola, you will find captains' barricades here and there."
Ash and Lillie also notice the barricade and a person standing in front of it. Ilima continues, "These barricades help mark areas where particularly strong Pokémon can be found. Anyone can pass through them, of course, if they are escorted by a strong Trainer. Those attempting the island challenge can pass the barricades, as long as they clear the trials. Are you ready? Then behold the power of a captain!"
Ilima talks to the one who blocks the barricade, and then he moves the barricade for them to get pass. "Voila! Your world just got a little bigger."
"That's great, so where can we find the next trial?" Ash asks.
"I am the only captain here on Melemele Island, meaning my trial is the only one here. Now that you have cleared the trial, please inform our island kahuna, Hala!"
Lillie says, "Already? Then it will be great to fight a Kahuna."
Just then, they see Kukui approaching him, he waves his hands to them and then the group walk towards him. "Hey there, Ash, Lillie! Oooh, looking at the expression on Ilima's face, I'd say you cleared your first trial, yeah?"
"Of course we do." Ash and Lillie show them the Z Crystals, but Lillie doesn't have a Z Ring yet. Kukui says, "Guess I better give you a little reward...Time to learn about Z-Power. Woo!"
Then he starts to demonstrate how to use it. "Start off by selecting a compatible Z-Crystal from the Z-Crystals Pocket in your Bag, yeah! But since you have one, you don't need to worry about it yet. Then use the Z-Crystal you chose on a Pokémon! Z-Crystals are compatible with a Pokémon if it knows a move of the same type as the crystal. Have your Pokémon hold Z-Crystals, and you'll be able to use Z-Power in battles! And don't worry, you can use your Z-Crystals over and over on as many Pokémon as you want!"
"So that means I can use this Normalium Z on Pikachu because it can learn Quick Attack. Is that right?" Ash asks.
"Of course." Kukui laughs. "Just watch and learn, okay?"
Then he sends out a Rockruff and then he faces a Growlithe. He strikes the pose along with his Rockruff and he says, "If it's holding a Normalium Z and you choose a Normal-type move... you can use Z-Power! Check it out! Use Breaknect Blitz!"
Rockruff is surrounded in an orange aura and charges at the opponent with a full-speed tackle. Growlithe immediately faints.
"Amazing..." Both Ash and Lillie are speechless about the whole thing in front of them and Ilima says, "Phew! Z-Powers heap all of a Trainer's feelings onto a Pokémon, yeah, which totally wears you out! Using Z-Power once per battle is all a team can handle, yeah."
"Oh, so is that why you've been looking so ragged, Professor?" Ilima asks.
"No! It's just like I was hit with Amnesia. I forgot I had work to do in Route 3." Kukui says. But just then, Nebby pops out of the bag and then it gets excited and he flies away.
"Nebby! Where are you going?" Lillie yells, but in vain as he teleports away. "Oh no, Nebby is missing again." Lillie says with a groan.
"We have to find it before it falls into the wrong hands." Ash says. "But where could it be teleporting to?"
"I can go and have a look around the cave for you, in case it wandered that way." Ilima says.
"Great, let's split up and find it, yeah!" Kukui says as they all split up.
While rushing at Route 3, Ash and Lillie split up as they are finding Nebby, Ash looks at the cliffs and he says, "I don't think Nebby could have teleported this far..."
"Where should we find next?" Pikachu asks, but then, they hear Lillie's scream and Rotom says, "Oh no, Lillie is in trouble!"
"We have to go save her." Ash says as they rush towards Lillie, but they find that Snowy and Sylveon are attacked by three flocks of different Pokemon. One is a Spearow, one is Rufflet and one is Vullaby.
"Help! Ash!" Ash turns around and spots that Lillie is hanging on the ledge and the Spearow are pecking her hands. Ash feels rage and he yells, "What are you doing! Leave her alone! Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu fires the attack and then the Spearow leaves, but Lillie can't hold on as she is about to fall.
"No! Lillie!" Ash yells as he quickly changes into Arceus and activates the Sky Plate. Lillie also passed out after that fall before Ash saves her by putting her on the back.
The three flocks are surprised to see that the Pokemon in front of them is no other than the god Arceus. They are shivering in fear as they try to retreat. But Ash grabs each Pokemon that seems to be the leader and he asks, "Care to explain why did you throw her off the track?"
"They...they trespass our territory..." The Spearow says with shiver.
"Don't hurt them, I was the one that calls for attack." Rufflet says, but Vullaby says, "No, I was the one, leave those two alone."
"Enough." Ash says with a roar. "I don't care who is the one that does it. If we trespass your home, we are sorry since we are just finding a Pokemon that is important to us. We won't be staying here longer."
After Ash changes back into his human form, he sends out Rapidash and puts Lillie on it. "Do not attack until you know their reasons."
But the three birds are still guilty, as they want to join in Ash's team as a compensation. Ash is surprised, but he agrees to let them join in the team.
After Lillie gets back up, she finds herself on a Rapidash. She notices that Ash is holding the reins as they are walking. "Ash?"
Ash hears that Lillie is awake and he stops his footing. Ash says, "Lillie, thank goodness you are okay."
"What just happened? My mind is a little blur." Lillie says as Ash helps her get off his Rapidash.
"You were attacked and you're about to fall. I was so scared, I thought I was going to lose you..." Ash says after hugging her.
"I am sorry...if I was careful enough...But I think I saw some memories..." Lillie says, causing Ash to be surprised. "I remember the time I got Fennekin as a Starter in Kalos, and how we met again in the Santalune City..."
"That's great, can you remember some more?" Ash asks with hope in his eyes. Lillie tries to close her eyes and think, she says, "I think I also taught you how to do Rhyhorn racing, right?"
"Yeah, you told me to go for a broke." Ash says. "That's great, you are starting to remember a lot."
"But I couldn't remember more after we saved Professor Sycamore from Team Rocket and how Clemont captured Chespin..."
"It is fine, that is a good start, I know you can remember some more." Ash says as they see a Delibird flying towards them. "A Delibird? What is it doing here?" Ash is confused, but then he is surprised that the Delibird gives him a Pokeball and a letter. Ash reads it and he is surprised that the letter is actually from his mother.
"My mother wrote me a letter..." Ash says as he starts to read it. After a while, Lillie says, "What does it say?"
"My mother knows that I got my first Z Crystal, she wants to congratulate me and she said that both she and Grandma are going to watch our battle against Hala."
"That's great. Anything else?" Lillie asks.
"Yeah, and she captures this Delibird for me and she asks me to take care of it and I can use it to send letters to her as well." Ash smiles as he recalls the Delibird. "But first, we still need to find where Nebby went."
Lillie gasps as she forgot about it, she says, "Maybe it is in the Melemele Meadow?"
"Let's go check it out." Ash says as they enter a small cave.
After it gets out, they are amazed to see a garden full of yellow flowers. "This is amazing..." Ash says in awe as Lillie agrees, then they see Nebby sleeping on the other side of the meadow.
"Nebby! Nebby, come back!" Lillie calls, but Nebby didn't hear her voice as it is still sleeping.
"So Nebby ran off into the meadow here..." Ash says.
"And right after it got into so much trouble on the bridge, too... What if a wild Pokémon attacks it? It doesn't have any moves it can use to battle except Teleport!" Lillie yells.
"There is only one way, we have to go past the flower fields in order to get it, but we have to be careful if we don't want to step on the beautiful flowers." Ash says.
Lillie nods as they walk slowly together, eventually, they get Nebby and picks it up.
"Oh, you! Nebby." Lillie says after waking up the Pokemon, the Pokemon just gives it a tilting. "Thank you, Ash. I couldn't have done it without you."
"No problem." Ash says as they spot a yellow bird like Pokemon. "What is that? Rotom?"
"Oricorio, Pom-Pom Style. The Dancing Pokémon. An Electric and Flying type. It creates electricity by rubbing its pom-poms together. Then it dances as it approaches its opponent before attacking." Rotom says.
"You know, I read something interesting in a book once... It seems the Pokémon called Oricorio changes appearance by feeding on the nectar from different types of flowers. It's not actually evolving but undergoing a so-called "form change." Isn't that interesting? I thought it was, anyway..." Lillie says.
"It sure is, and don't you thinking it is perfect for you because it is dancing?" Ash asks, but Lillie is confused. Ash sighs, "Oh right, you didn't have that memory yet. But I know that you like to capture Pokemon that likes dancing."
"Really?" Lillie asks and she decides to ask the Oricorio, and much to her surprise, she agrees to join her, much to her happiness.
"Since we are here, why don't we explore some more? I want to see if there are more Pokemon around here." Ash says.
"Sure." Lillie says as they decide to explore the meadow.
Here is a new chapter, and Lillie starts to remember about her past. Not only that, since in the Pokemon Sun and Moon, Kukui left Lillie back in Route 3 and she asks Player to help get Nebby back. I decide to switch things up and I hope you like it.
