Chapter 19
Ash and Lillie finally arrived at the Paniola Town, a town located in the middle of Akala Island and surrounded by ranch land and pastures for grazing. "This place looks perfect." Ash says.
"Yeah, it has the biggest ranch in the whole Alola Region." Lillie says, and then they see Hau rushing towards them.
"Hey! Ash! Lillie! Glad I ran into you..." Hau says as he is breathing heavily because of running.
"Hau? What's wrong and why are you running?" Ash asks.
"So we can see who's stronger now! My gramps must've thought I did good enough in my grand trial, 'cause he gave me a Z-Ring, too!" Hau says as he shows them the Z Ring.
"That's nice, he even gives me the Z Ring as well." Lillie says as she shows him hers.
"Having a battle in a place like Paniola Town feels like we're in a real old-fashioned Western showdown or something, right? This is so cool! Though if we're real honorable cowboys, we've gotta make sure our teams are healthy first."
Ash nods as they go to the Pokemon Center to heal up their Pokemon, after that, they go to the battlefield as they decide to battle. "Awright, Pikachu and team! Let's show this newbie what Alola's got!"
Then Hau sends out his own Pikachu, and Ash says, "A Pikachu, huh? Then I'll choose my own Pikachu as well."
As Ash's Pikachu rushes to the field, both Pikachu are having a glare down. Then Ash's start with the Quick Attack, but Hau's manages to dodge the attack with the Agility, and then it uses Electro Ball, Pikachu uses the same move to counteract it.
"Both Pokemon are in equal situation..." Lillie mutters.
"That is not going to scare me." Ash says as he asks Pikachu to use Dig, much to Hau's surprise as Pikachu goes underground, and then it lands the Super Effective move.
"No way, I didn't know a Pikachu can do that." Hau says.
"You'll be surprised." Ash smiles, "Finish it with the Thunderbolt."
After the attack hits, Hau's Pikachu is totally knocked out as he can only recall his Pokemon.
"Aww man...there is one loss for me, but I still have one more Pokemon and that is my Dartrix."
As the Pokemon appears, Ash decides to recall Dartrix and sends out Rowlet. Rowlet showcases its new move, Seed Bomb, and lands a hit on Dartrix.
"Wow, that sure is some new moves." Hau says in amazement, and then Rowlet soon strikes Dartrix with its Peck attack. Dartrix knocks Rowlet to the ground with Razor Leaf and follows up with a Leaf Blade. Dartrix pins Rowlet to a tree trunk with several blade quills.
In desperation, Ash has Rowlet use Seed Bomb, but Dartrix knocks the attack away with its Leaf Blade. Just as Dartrix goes in for a finishing Leaf Blade, Ash puts his Flyinium Z into his Z-Ring.
"Use Supersonic Skystrike!" Ash yells as Rowlet starts to fly high into the sky and lands on Dartrix, causing it to faint in the end.
"Nice! How'd you come up with that kind of battle plan? You gotta tell me!" Hau says, "And you need to tell me how do you get the Flyinium Z as well."
"Well, there is a trial in the Ten Carat Hill back in the Melemele Island, we have help with your Grandfather to set it up." Ash says, and Hau is totally surprised.
"Ma-a-an, that was some kinda battle! Our Pokémon all look like they had a blast, too!" Hau says. "Right then. Here. I'll share my bit of good luck with you, Ash!"
Just then, he gives him some sort of medicine and Ash asks, "What is this?"
"This is a Dire Hit, when giving it to your Pokemon, it boosts their critical hits for some time." Hau says. "You know how the Totem Pokémon are all, like, surrounded by some aura of power? If you use a Dire Hit on your Pokémon and manage to land a critical hit, that aura won't mean a thing!"
"I guess so." Ash says as he puts it back into his backpack. Hau says, "You know, Pokémon battles are just, like, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. But you're only really a loser if you don't have any fun while you're at it. Right? Anyway, I'm heading off to Paniola Ranch!"
After Hau leaves, Lillie is searching about the news of the Paniola Ranch, and she says, "Look Ash, there are some Moomoo Milk products in the Ranch, such as Ice Cream and Cheese Cake! How about we go try it out?"
Ash and Pikachu have stars in their eyes after hearing about what is there, as they really want to go and try it out.
Once they get to the ranch, they have to battle some trainers who are blocking their path to go to the place. They also see a lot of Tauros, Lillipup, Mudbray and even Miltank around the ranch.
"This place sure is amazing." Ash says as a farmer notices them. "Oh! You've got to be a trial-goer, right? Well, you've got a good sense of timing!"
"Timing?" Ash and Lillie ask in confusion as the farmer says, "The trial captain is already here, so come on."
As they follow the farmer, they see Mallow who is juicing some milk from the Miltank. Ash and Lillie greet the trial captain and she says, "Thanks for stopping by! The Moomoo Milk from Paniola Ranch is the best. It's so rich and creamy when you use it in white sauce and other things... Mmm! The taste can't even be described!"
"I know, that is why we are here, we want to try out their ice cream and cheese cakes." Lillie says.
"If that's the case, how about I treat you guys? Don't worry, it's on me." Mallow says.
"Are you sure? I mean, we could pay it on our own..." Ash says.
"No need to worry, though in exchange, I want to hear about how you two are together." This causes them to blush as they can only sigh.
When they are sitting at the table while watching the Pokemon playing, Ash tells her about how Lillie lose some of her memories as she suffered from a plane crash, and it causes her to be sorry for the girl, and they also tell her about their plan in the Akala Island, as to set up the Island Festival in the Royale Avenue and the Konikoni City. Mallow says, "I have seen those festivals, I can't believe that you two are the ones under the masks."
"Yeah, and sometimes we need to go back to the Melemele Island so we can continue to host the festival, it is tiring but fun." Ash says as he continues to eat ice cream.
"Well, I can tell since I am also a Trial Captain." Mallow smiles. Then she decides to teach them how to have their own Moomoo Milk, as they have them capture a Miltank in the ranch and let them juice the milk.
"This sure is a great experience." Ash says after recalling the Miltank.
"I know." Mallow says. "Oh, by the way! Since I was lucky enough to run into you here, I'll do you a little favor. Do you have a Ride Pager?"
Ash and Lillie are confused as Mallow takes the device and press some buttons. "There, just press B and you'll see."
Ash presses the button, and suddenly, both of them are now in their clothes, and in front of them is not the usual Tauros, but a Stoutland. "A Stoutland? What can it use?"
"See, Stoutland can sniff out items for you that are buried in the dirt where you can't even see them! When you're riding Stoutland, pressing the B Button to use that Stoutland Search is what it's all about! Get up there and try it! There's all kinds of stuff laying around waiting for you to find it!"
Ash and Lillie decide to try it out, as they manage to sniff out some Super Repels and the Soda Pops on the ground. "Wow, their noses are amazing." Lillie says.
"Yeah. It sure is cool to find some hidden items on the ground." Ash says.
Mallow says, "It sure is. If you go all the way down Route 5, you'll come out on Brooklet Hill. My friend Lana is up there, so say hi to her for me if you see her!"
"Lana? So she is the trial captain that we need to face next?" Lillie asks, but Mallow has already rushes off as she bids farewell to them. "I guess we won't be able to know that until we get to this Brooklet Hill."
"Yeah." Ash says as they change their outfits back to normal and sends Stoutland back to the Ride Pager. "But we managed to have some milk on our own, how about we try making something out of it for dinner?"
"That will be nice." Lillie smiles. "So what are you planning?"
"Maybe something that is good to eat?" Ash says as Lillie laughs, and then they decide to go back to the Pokemon Center in the Paniola Town.
Somewhere in Route 5, Golly arrives at the tent, and a boy is waiting for her and he asks, "What takes you so long?"
Golly says, "I got back to the Melemele Island for some training, my brother recently set up something called the Island Festival, so I think it is a good way to train my Pokemon."
The boy nods and Golly continues, "And by the way, when are you going to leave Team Skull? What if your sister sees you like that?"
"She will understand why I joined them, but trust me, I don't call myself a part of them." The boy says.
"Of course you aren't, or else I won't be falling in love with an eggy boy like you, Gladion." Golly says.
Gladion turns around as he is hiding his blush, ever since Golly faked her death from her brother, she has been close to Gladion, until something bad happened that forces him to leave Lusamine and Lillie. He looks at the Pokeball and says, "Don't worry, I will free you from the helmet no matter what."
Here is a new chapter, and Gladion is about to make an appearance in the next chapter, how would Lillie react when she sees her brother? And not only that, Ash and Lillie also get a new Pokemon Riding pager, which is the Stoutland that acts as an Item Finder. I hope you like this chapter.
