Chapter 21
In the next day, Ash, Lillie and Lusamine are standing in front of Gladion and Golly, Ash says, "So you two are continuing spying for Team Skull?"
Golly says, "We should, since we have to know what they are planning or else another one of Team Flare accident is going to happen."
Gladion nods and says, "I am sorry, mother. But we have to do this."
"I understand." Lusamine says as they bid farewell to the two. Lusamine says, "And I assume that both of you are going to challenge the Water Trial?"
"We are." Ash says, and then they also bid farewell to her as they leave. On the road, Ash and Lillie notice a Pokemon as Ash has never seen it before. "What is that Pokemon, Rotom?"
"Leave it to me." Rotom says, "Fomantis, the Sickle Grass Pokémon. A Grass type. Fomantis sleep with their leaves spread to gather sunlight for photosynthesis."
"I don't think it is a good idea to wake them up, how about we just leave?" Lillie asks with a scared tone, and Ash quickly tosses a Quick Ball and captures one of them without making any sound.
After that, they also train some Pokemon, and they manage to evolve Lillipup into a Herdier after battling some Pikipek in the wild.
When they arrive at the Brooklet Hill, they see a blue haired girl standing in front of them. She says, "Hello. I'm Lana. I serve as the captain of Brooklet Hill. You look like an able-bodied Trainer. Could I ask for your help with something?"
"Uh...sure?" Ash and Lillie are confused, and Lana says, "Then follow me. This way, please."
As they walk through the bridge, they already see Lana up ahead, and they see some Surskit floating around, and Lillie uses Rowlet in order to capture it, and much to her surprise, Rowlet evolves and it learns Razor Leaf. Rotom says, "Dartrix, the Blade Quill Pokémon. A Grass and Flying type. It throws its darts, which are very sharp feathers, at enemies. Quite image-conscious, it's always preening."
After that, Lillie captures the Surskit as they finally find Lana at one of the ponds. "See? Do you see that there?"
They notice some bubbles in the pond, and Ash asks, "What is that?"
"Look at that vigorous splashing! I wouldn't be surprised to find a fearsome Pokémon is the one causing it all..." Lana says.
"Fearsome?" Lillie says as she is a little scared. "So, brave trial-goer, I would like to ask you to investigate that splashing there and find out what exactly is causing it. I won't ask you to swim out there, of course. I have a lovely gift for you instead."
She suddenly asks for their Ride Pager, and she presses some buttons and she says, "There, now you can use Lapras to surf on waters."
"So Lapras is our third Riding Pokemon..." Ash says as they try it out, instead of wearing riding outfits, they are wearing life vests that looks like riding outfits, and they are now riding on Lapras.
"If you climb atop Lapras there, you will be able to travel over bodies of water. That's right. You'll even be able to reach those splashes and see what is going on there."
As they go to the splash, they notice that it is just a work of Wishiwashi, so Ash sends out Pikachu and says, "Use Thunderbolt on that Pokemon!"
Pikachu nods and it fires the attack, causing the Wishiwashi to swim away, much to their confusion.
"I simply can't suppress the curiosity welling up within me... That's why I would appreciate it if you would investigate those splashes in the water." Lana says. "Oh my... So it was Wishiwashi kicking up all that water? Even a little Wishiwashi can make such big waves..."
Just then, they hear more splashes and Lana says, "Oh me. What is that? I can hear wild splashing from over there... It sounds even larger than what we just saw. Is it a Pokémon? Is it a person? I suppose we had better go check."
Then Lana also rides her own Lapras as she goes ahead, as for Ash and Lillie, they are now walking on the road as they notice more Pokemon that they haven't seen it before. "Dewpider, the Water Bubble Pokémon. A Water and Bug type. Dewpider come out of the water, looking for food. They create water bubbles to breathe and to protect their soft heads."
"Another Water and Bug Type Pokemon...I wonder what will Misty think after seeing this Pokemon..." Ash says as he asks Dartrix to battle it again, and in the end, they manage to capture it.
And then they also notice a Paras along with a Pokemon they haven't seen it before. "What is that Pokemon?" Lillie asks. Rotom says, "Morelull, the Illuminating Pokémon. A Grass and Fairy type. Morelull can send out glowing spores that put its opponents to sleep. Then it drains their energy using its foot-like roots."
"That sounds a little horrifying." Ash says, then he has Litten to battle against those two Pokemon. In the end, Litten also evolves into a Torracat as it learns Double Kick to knock out both Pokemon, enabling Ash to capture them.
"Torracat, the Fire Cat Pokémon. A Fire type, and the evolved form of Litten. When Torracat spits fire, the fiery bell at its throat makes a high-pitched ringing sound."
"Look! There it is... Ah... I'm sorry. What was your name?" Lana says, and Ash and Lillie introduce themselves.
"Of course! Ash! Lillie! They are lovely names. Just lovely. Now look over there. Do you see that? Whatever is kicking up such lovely splashes must be rather big... A strapping young Swimmer, perhaps? Or an amazing Pokémon specimen?"
They notice another splash of water again, and this time Lillie wants to battle whoever is in the water, and this time it is a Dewpider. She uses Oricorio to use Revelation Dance on the Pokemon, causing it to rush away easily.
"Oh my. So it was a Dewpider that was kicking up all that water? Hmm. How unfortunate. It wasn't a strapping young Swimmer after all..."
They hear another large splash and Lana says, "Oh my word! Now what is that? Even more furious splashing? It sounds as big as a Wailord. It might just be another Pokémon, but... Maybe, just maybe, we'll be lucky enough to find a spry young Swimmer floundering in the water and in need of saving! Let's go investigate it, Ash, Lillie."
As they rush towards the sound of splashing, they also notice two Poliwag as Ash and Lillie capture one of them each.
"Brooklet Hill... Within it lies the Legendary Pokémon said to be the embodiment of the sea itself... the mighty Kyogre." Lana says, and the two of them just look at her in surprise.
"Oh dear... You won't be tricked easily, Ash, Lillie." This causes them to sweat drop. "But we are near the sea. If that splashing sound is coming from the sea... then I wonder what is causing it. And now it is raining, as well. The rain will boost the power of any Water-type moves by half again... Could those splashes be caused by some Pokémon whose moves are now growing ever stronger in the falling rain?"
"I am not sure about that..." Lillie says, and then they notice a cove with a Trial gate. "So this is the place where we begin our trial?"
"Ash, Lillie... You've come all this way with me..." Lana says, "And now I declare your trial starts."
This causes them to be surprised, and Lana says, "That's right. Didn't you notice? You passed through the Captain's gate by my side. Which means that you will undergo my trial! To clear my trial, you must defeat the great Totem Pokémon known as the lord of the ocean!"
"Lord of the ocean?" Ash asks.
"That spray of water you can see there! That is where you will probably find the totem. And perhaps those Wishiwashi you battled against will also want their revenge... Defeat whatever comes at you and prove your strength to me! And remember that you cannot catch any Pokémon here unless you complete my trial. So let the trial begin!"
Ash says, "Lillie, I'll battle the Totem Pokemon first."
Lillie nods as he surfs to the Pokemon in front of them, just then, he hears a large shake and then thunder crashed over the open sea. Ash can feel Lapras is trembling and Ash says, "What is going on here..."
Just then, a giant blue whale like Pokemon jumps out of the sea, and Ash can only exclaims in shock at the sight of the Pokemon. "What the..." Ash says in shock, and Rotom says, "Unidentified! Unidentified!"
At the same time, a giant spider like Pokemon pops out from the water near Lillie, and she is also trembling in shock. Both Water Type Pokemon glow orange as they are Totem Pokemon, then they know that they have to defeat both Pokemon.
The Pokemon Ash faces uses Ice Beam, which Dartrix barely dodges, but then Dartrix uses Leaf Blade, which manages to cut some of the Pokemon's HP. The totem calls for Alomomola for help and healing, so Ash sends out Popplio for help. In the middle of the battle, Popplio evolves into Brionne and defeats Alomomola with Aqua Jet, causing Alomomola to run away.
"Brionne, the Pop Star Pokémon. A Water type. Brionne can make balloons in all sorts of colors, and performs a joyful dance when its Trainer needs cheering up."
"Time to wrap this up." Ash says as he starts to do the pose with Dartrix and uaes Supersonic Skydive. It shoots through the body as it explodes causing some white fishes to fall into the water like rain.
"Those are Wishiwashi!" Ash gasps in surprise.
As for Lillie, she asks Pikachu and Trumbeak to battle. In the middle of the battle, Araquanid calls out Dewpider for battle. Pikachu defeats the Dewpider with a Thunderbolt. But both Pokemon are trapped in Spider Web. Araquanid also heals himself with Leech Life. But using Peck, Trumbeak saves himself and Pikachu from the binding and Pikachu defeats Araquanid with All Out Pummeling.
"I...I must say that I find myself at an impasse here. All of the Wishiwashi and Araquanid that I so diligently trained up were defeated, and that is very frustrating... but of course I cannot let your completion of my trial go uncelebrated, Ash, Lillie. You were amazing, Ash, Lillie. Truly impressive. Please take these."
They notice Wishiwashi and Araquanid take out two Z Crystals, and the two of them exclaim, "We got the Waterium Z!"
"You do know what this is, don't you? Watch. This is how you use Waterium Z." Lana starts to do the dance, which her arms are swinging like waves.
"And that's not all I can offer you. Here. This is a Lana original. One of my own handmade fishing rods." Ash and Lillie all get a Fishing rod from the girl, and she says, "This is how you use my fishing rod: When you want to fish for Pokémon, look for piles of rocks in the water. Fish like to hide in the shadows there. When you see your bob dip under the water, you have a bite. But you won't for long. The Pokémon will struggle to get away, so you have to be quick. If you want to catch any of the Pokémon you fish up for your team, I recommend Dive Balls."
She also gives them Dive Balls, and Lana says, "By the way... Did you know I once reeled in a red Gyarados?"
"I somehow find that just a joke..." Ash says as they all laugh.
Here is a new chapter, and this is the Water Trial for this story, I put the Totem in Sun and Moon and Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon combined each other, but the story is going in the Sun and Moon plot. The next chapter will be fishing and Route 6.
