Chapter 23

In the Royal Avenue, Ash and Lillie are looking around the area as they see a big pink garden and some Pokemon showing off in front of some sort of stadium. Ash says, "This place sure is something if you ask me."

"I know." Lillie says, but then she notices Golly and Gladion in front of the stadium. "Hmph. Why do I do this..." Gladion says.

"Every time something brings us down, we end up coming right back here again..." Golly says.

"Yeah...Come on, Null. Let's go bury our sorrow in the crowd." Gladion says as they enter the stadium.

"I wonder what is Golly and your brother doing there." Ash says.

"I don't know as well, but let's go check out that stadium." Lillie says as they also enter the place.

Once they enter the place, they greet Gladion and Golly, Lillie asks, "Brother? What are you doing here?"

Gladion says, "Let's say we are here for some battles for fun, since this is a place known for Battle Royal."

"Battle Royal, huh?" Ash says, just then, they hear a voice, "Glad you could make it!"

They turn around and see the person, who says, "I'm here today, yeah, to spread the word, oh yeah, about Battle Royal! They call me...the Masked Royal! Woo!"

Lillie asks, "Professor Kukui? What's up with this outfit?"

"Who is this Professor Kukui? I am the Masked Royal. Don't get it wrong." Professor Kukui says, and it causes the four of them to sweat drop.

"I'm here to teach you, oh yeah, about the battle format passed down in Alola for generations... The Pokémon Battle Royal. Woo!"

Ash sighs, "The way he talks, is he treating us as idiots or something?"

Golly says, "Somehow I have to agree with you."

""But, Royal, what's the Battle Royal?" you might ask. Four Trainers! Four Trainers, yeah, each pick three Pokémon, yeah, for one big Pokémon battle, oh yeah! When one Trainer's team can't battle anymore, yeah, the Battle Royal ends! Whichever Trainer has taken out the most Pokémon, yeah, and has the most Pokémon left will emerge the winner. Woo!"

Lillie says, "Now he tries to change the way he talks so that we don't recognize him..."

Ash says, "Yeah..."

"First, just give it a shot! Pick your Pokémon, and let's do this!"

"Dude! It's the Masked Royal! I wanna battle! I wanna battle!" Just then, they hear Hau calling out, and Professor Kukui just nods.

"You there! Come join in the fun!" Kukui says to Gladion, who just nods.

"I'll be in the mix, too, yeah. And now we have our foursome. Woo!" The Professor says. "Discovery! New experiences! Adventure! It's all yours if you want it! It's time for a Pokémon Battle Royal! Ready...fight!"

Then they all head to the stadium, as they hear the announcement. "We're in the Battle Royal Dome, the arena for Battle Royals. The dome is packed and filled with excitement! Now here come the contenders!"

"In the green corner, Ash Ketchum sent out his Pikachu!" Ash waves to the crowd and Pikachu is doing the same.

"In the yellow corner, Hau sent out Dartrix!" Hau also gives out his laid back smile with his Dartrix.

"In the red corner, Pro Wrestler The Royal sent out Incineroar!" Professor Kukui sends out the Pokemon and gives a nod.

"And in the blue corner, Gladion sent out Umbreon!" As the Pokemon appears, the battle royal starts now.

"Dartrix, let's give them a Razor Leaf!" The Pokemon nods as it manages to hit all three Pokemon at the same time.

"Not bad, Pikachu, use Quick Attack on Dartrix." "You too, Umbreon, Dark Pulse on Dartrix." Both Pokemon are attacking the bird Pokemon, and Kukui says, "I see you are going for trainer Hau first. Then if that's the case, I will help out Hau with the Flamethrower on Pikachu."

"Dodge it!" Ash yells as Pikachu manages to dodge the attack. Hau also tries for the Shadow Sneak on Pikachu, but Gladion says, "Go in front of Pikachu and use Protect."

As the attack manages to be shielded, Ash turns to Gladion and says, "Thanks, Gladion."

"Don't get it wrong, I am doing this for my sister." Gladion says as Ash nods. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt on Incineroar."

Pikachu fires the attack and it hits on the Incineroar, but Kukui is unfazed as he says, "Now I think it is enough for playing games."

Just then, he places a Z Crystal on the Z Ring as it starts to do a dance, he says, "Malicious Moonsault!"

Incineroar strikes a series of synchronized poses with its Trainer to build Z-Power. Its body then becomes surrounded in yellow-orange fire and it jumps into the air, landing chest-first onto the three Pokemon and causing a big explosion.

In the end, Ash, Hau and Gladion are shocked that their Pokemon all faint in the end. "The battle is over!"

After they head back outside, Lillie and Golly meet up with them and Lillie says, "I can't believe both Brother and Ash's Pokemon were just beaten by that..."

"It's fine. At least we give it all we got." Ash says, and Gladion says, "It is not enough for me, though."

"Gladion..." Golly mutters.

"So what do you think? It's easy to have a fun time with Battle Royal. Woo! You even have a shot at beating real tough opponents this way, yeah?" Kukui says.

"You were on fire during that battle. I hope you bring that fire with you and burn up my trial." They turn around and see a tan boy standing in front of them, he is naked with only a red shorts, and he also has brown and red hair as well.

"Who are you?" Ash asks, and the boy says, "The name's Kiawe, the Fire captain. You can get to Wela Volcano Park from Route 7. I'll be waiting on the peak. If you plan to see your island challenge through to the end, climb to the top with your strongest team!"

After that, he leaves, and Professor Kukui asks, "So! Ash, Lillie, Hau. How are your trials going? I hope you and your Pokémon are working hard and havin' a blast. Woo!"

Hau asks, "But Mr. Masked Royal...How'd you even know that we're doing our trials right now? Oh! I get it! Because of our amulets, huh?"

Ash and Lillie can't believe Hau will be this dumb not to recognize Professor Kukui in front of them. Hau says, "Well, I'm having a blast! But why are you here? Why would you even wanna do a Battle Royal?"

Gladion knows that Hau is asking him, and he says, "Because Null and I have to make it on our own. And I don't ever want to forget that. Let's go, Golly. Ash and Lillie, we'll meet again someday."

Ash and Lillie nod as they see both of them leaving, Hau says, "...Wow. You're just a ray of sunshine, eh? I think you'd have a lot more fun if you just let yourself have a good time with everybody else. You can do a lot more together, too! Well, I don't know what his deal is, but I thought that battle was just plain fun! That's why I like doing Battle Royals. And my Pokémon seem to like them, too!"

After that, Ash and Lillie bid farewell to Professor Kukui and Hau, as they are at the garden. Ash notices some nectar and he says, "So this is how we get the Pink Nectar."

"Yeah, we can have a Psychic Type Oricorio now." Lillie says as she feeds the Pokemon with the nectar, after that, they also notice a store and Lillie says, "That's the Thrifty Megamart, it is a cool place to shop for some stuff."

"I see, since we are here, how about we try shopping for something?" Ash asks, and Lillie nods.

In the store, they manage to buy some more Pokeballs, and then some other stuff as well. Lillie notices the mirror and she says, "You know, I have a question to ask you, Ash."

"What is it? Lillie?" Ash asks while he is still looking for some items to buy.

"You said that I am a Giratina, right?" Lillie says and Ash looks at her with a confused face. "What about it?"

"I was thinking about the time back in the Reflection Cave, when you were somehow inside of the alternate world or something else. I was wondering if we can go there with my powers?"

Ash smiles and says, "Why do you want to go there? It is true that Giratina can open portals to the Reversal World, but that doesn't mean the Reversal World is the same as the dimension that I was stuck in."

"I see..." Lillie sighs. "I never got to ask, but what is it like in that alternate dimension?"

Ash thinks for a second and says, "Well, let's say that our personalities are actually different. For example, I was a crybaby that place, and whenever I was in a battle, I was feeling nervous."

"That sounds like the opposite of you, I wonder what is it like the opposite of me." Lillie says.

"You were good at battling and you were very arrogant, and come to think of it, it sure is the opposite of you as well." Ash says as Lillie nods. "The reason I got there is because that Mirror Ash accidentally took my Pikachu, so I want to get it back. That is when I learned about the whole Mirror World thing."

"If Mirror Ash mistook your Pikachu as his, then where was his own?" Lillie asks in confusion.

"It turns out that Team Rocket came to that world before us, and you know." Ash says, and Lillie sighs, "Those three again? But how did they get out of the Mirror World if you told me that you need to get back before sunset to prevent getting trapped in the Mirror World forever."

"I don't know, maybe the Mirror World Version of Team Rocket help them? As they are superheroes according to Mirror Serena?" Ash says as Lillie laughs a little. "I guess so..."

Here is a new chapter, and this marks the Chapter of the Battle Royal. And I also add the conversation about Lillie being a Giratina and the fact that she just remembers her memories up to episode 40, she starts to ask questions about the Mirror World. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be the Fire Trial, a trial that I have to face palm a lot of times.
