Chapter 24
Ash and Lillie are now at Route 7, they are standing in front of the entrance to Wela Volcano Park, Ash says, "Well, this is the place...the Fire Trial..."
"I know." Lillie says. "I wonder what is this trial about...and Ash...I have realize something...every time I finish a trial, I feel like some of my memories are getting back..."
"Really? Then what are we waiting for? Let's go there so we can recover more of your memories." Ash says with excitement as they enter the place.
Once they enter the Wela Volcano Park, they notice that there are some Fire Type Pokemon around this place. Ash notices a Pokemon that he haven't met before, and he says, "Rotom, what is that Pokemon?"
"That is a Salandit, the Toxic Lizard Pokémon. A Poison and Fire type. Salandit lives in volcanoes and dry rocky places. They're very dangerous Pokémon that attack after releasing a sweet-smelling poisonous gas!"
"Poisonous Gas? How danger would it be?" Lillie asks as the Salandit suddenly talks to them. "Are you two trial goers?'
Ash says, "We are trial goers, and why do you ask?"
"My mother is the Totem Pokemon, if you are trial goers, I can bring you there." The Salandit says.
"Okay...thanks." Ash says with a sweat drop.
As they are moving, Ash and Lillie also capture a Cubone, Kangaskhan and a Magby on the way. Both of them are captured with the help of Salandit, who gives them the poison as Ash and Lillie defeats them with their Pokemon can capture them.
"Thank you for helping us." Ash says to the Pokemon, who nods as they continue to get to the top of the mountain, where they find Kiawe there.
"I am Kiawe. My Marowak and I are students of the ancient dances that have been passed down in Alola for generations." Kiawe says as Ash realizes that the Pokemon besides him is Marowak. "Is that Marowak an Alolan Form?"
Rotom says, "Marowak, Alola Form. A Fire and Ghost type. The bone Marowak holds is precious to it and its greatest weapon. It uses the bone as a torch to unleash its attack."
Kiawe says, "The trial of Kiawe... You will find that it is a bit different than the trials you have faced to this point, but of course, you will attempt it, right?"
"Of course we are." Lillie says, and the Salandit, Pikachu and Sylveon are sitting together to look at them having their trial.
"My trial will test your powers of observation! There will be a dance...and then another. Your task will be to find the difference between the two. Begin!"
As they see three Marowak standing on the stage and they start to dance, they do a pose in the end, and Kiawe says, "Watch carefully and memorize this dance."
As the three of them start to dance again, Ash and Lillie find out that the poses of each side of the Marowak is different from the previous one.
"What was different from the previous dance?" Kiawe asks, and Ash says, "Simple, the poses of the left one and the right one are different in the end."
Lillie says, "And I am the same with Ash as well."
Kiawe is a little stunned and he says, "B-but how?! That was truly spectacular! And to add to the spectacle... Come, Marowak!"
Just then, the two Marowak are showing their fighting stances and Ash says, "So we have to battle them. Gyarados, I choose you!" "You too, Pangoro."
As both Pokemon appears, Gyarados uses his Water attacks to defeat the first Marowak, and then Lillie has Pangoro to use the Dark Pulse as well as the Stone Edge to finish off the second Marowak.
"Marowak was so pleased by your right answer that it simply had to battle you!" Kiawe says as he recalls two Marowak and send out two more. "Onward to the second dance!"
Ash and Lillie nod as they look carefully at the second dance, this time the three Marowak are doing the same final pose. Ash says, "Do you remember it, Lillie?"
"I guess so." Lillie says. Kiawe says, "Watch carefully and memorize this dance."
But just as the second dance ends, out of nowhere, a hiker also comes up to the stage and also joins in to do the pose. "What was different from the previous dance?"
Lillie says, "Why is there a hiker coming onto the stage out of nowhere?" "Yeah...it makes us forget what the first poses was...unless the answer is the Hiker?"
"B-but how?! That was truly spectacular! And to add to the spectacle... Come, my fine Hiker!"
"Alola to you." The hiker says as he sends out two Magmar, and Ash and Lillie just roll their eyes and then they send out Crabrawler and Rockruff this time. Both Pokemon are working hard in this battle and eventually they are able to defeat the hiker's Pokemon.
"You're a fool if you dance...and a fool if you just look on..." The hiker says as he recalls his fainted Pokemon.
"My Hiker friend was so pleased by your right answer that he simply had to battle you!" Kiawe says. "Onward...to the final dance!"
This time, Ash and Lillie see that Hiker is joining the dance with the three Marowak as they do the pose together in the first turn. "You know, I am not going to say anything this time..."
"Me too." Lillie replies to Ash's comment.
"Watch carefully and memorize this dance." Kiawe says, and this time, with Ash and Lillie's surprise, a giant Marowak and a giant lizard like thing appears in the stage.
"Mama!" The Salandit is cheering as her mother arrives, and Ash asks, "Rotom, what is that Pokemon?"
"That is a Salazzle, the Toxic Lizard Pokémon. A Poison and Fire type, and the evolved form of Salandit. Its poisonous gas contains lots of pheromones that attract male Salandit."
"What was different from the previous dance?" Kiawe asks, and Ash says, "Are those the Totem Pokemon?"
"I think they are the totem Pokemon..." Lillie says.
"B-but how?! That was truly spectacular! And to add to the spectacle... Come, Totem Pokémon!" Kiawe says, and the battle is about to begin, with Salazzle and Marowak glowing orange. Salazzle raises its Special Defense and Marowak raises its speed.
"Milotic, I choose you." Ash says as he sends out the Pokemon. "You too, Crabrawler." Lillie says as their Pokemon are now on the field.
Salazzle uses Poison Gas to make Milotic poisoned, and it uses Dragon Tail to hurt it. Milotic uses Aqua Tail to slam at the Salazzle, causing it to get backwards as it gets serious damage. As for Lillie, she has Crabrawler to use Power-Up Punch, but it just goes straight through it.
"Oh no, I forgot that Marowak is a Ghost Type now..." Lillie says as she switches them into Water moves, and CrabHammer and Bubble Beam are going great against them.
"Let's finish this up!" Ash and Lillie say in union as they both activate their Z Ring and does the wave like dance, "Use Hydro Vortex!"
The two Pokemon create giant water tornados that send them flying in the air, and eventually they just falls down as they are all fainted in the end.
"Whoa! S-spectacular! With your keen observations, you were able to see even fine differences in our dances! And you defeated the Totem Pokémon with such ease!" Kiawe says.
The Salazzle that was with Pikachu and Sylveon rush up to its mother, who manages to wake up in the end and so does Marowak. Salazzle says, "It seems like my daughter is interested in you. Can you promise me to take care of her in your journey?"
Ash and Lillie nod as Ash captures the Salandit, not only that, both the Salazzle and Marowak take out the Firium Z and give them to both Ash and Lillie.
"We got the Firium Z!" Ash and Lillie yell in union as their Pokemon also cheer for them as well.
After that, Kiawe says, "This is how you use the Fire-type Z-Power!" Kiawe starts to have his hands going higher and then shooting in front of him. Once he is finished, he turns around and recalls the Marowak. "Thank you, my dear Marowak!"
He turns back to Ash and Lillie as he says, "For when you meet a Pokémon that you would like to make your companion, take these!"
He gives them 10 Quick Balls, and Ash says, "They sure are good for capturing new Pokemon, thanks."
"What's more! You may now use the Ride Pokémon Charizard. Charizard will lend you his strength, and you will be able to go anywhere you have been in an instant."
Kiawe takes the Ride Pager from Ash as he adds the Charizard into it. Lillie says, "So we can ride on Charizard if we are going anywhere else?"
"That sounds amazing, but it is not something that I haven't do it before." Ash says, and Lillie just look at him in surprise.
"The Firium Z...you should show it to the Trial Guide outside the captain's barricade at the bottom of the mountain. It is time for us to return to our dance. The feelings of the Alolan people and our Pokémon, and the true nature of Z-Power... The answers lie in our dance! And so we must dance on!"
After bidding farewell to Kiawe, Ash turns to Lillie and says, "So? Did you remember something else?"
Lillie says with a sigh, "Calm down, Ash. It won't be that fast once we get a new Z Crystal. I mean...it should take some time before I start to remember something, and then it will also ends somehow..."
"I see." Ash frowns, "I am sorry, I was just want you to remember everything..."
"It's fine." Lillie says.
At the same time, Aurora and Lusamine are now at the Route 8's Aether Foundation building, it is a good thing that Lusamine's evil self isn't there, so they can still do some Pokemon saving.
"So what should we do with this Stufful?" Aurora asks Lusamine as they look at the Stufful who is being treated by the staff members of the Aether Foundation.
"Maybe we should have Ash and Lillie take care of them?" Lusamine asks, "Since it might be a best choice."
Aurora nods and says, "That will do, by the way, when is your brother going to come?"
"He will be here in no time..." Lusamine says as they hear a voice, "Are you talking about me?"
They turn around and see that the person standing in front of them is no other than Colress, a former member of Team Plasma, and Lusamine says, "You finally arrived, brother."
Here is a new chapter, and this time Ash and Lillie get their fifth Z Crystal. In the next chapter, they are going to meet Dr. Colress and what is going to happen?
