Chapter 25

Ash and Lillie are now at the gate that is blocked off by a trainer. "Ho, that's a Firium Z! Congratulations on clearing Kiawe's trial! In that case."

She opens the barricade and they can see Route 8 after getting past the tunnel. "Captain Mallow's trial is up ahead. Go along Route 8 and you'll find it: Lush Jungle!"

"Oh, so it is going to be a Grass Type Trial next." Lillie says.

"Yeah." Ash says as they finally reach the Route 8, but much to their surprise, they see Aurora and Lusamine talking on the road. "Mom? Is that you?" Ash asks, and both woman turn around and Aurora says, "Ah, you two are here. How did your trials go?"

Ash says, "We got the Firium Z and the Ride Pager for Charizard. We are heading to the Lush Jungle for our Grass Type trial."

"I see." Lusamine says. "Sounds like my baby girl is also doing a great job."

"Mom, stop it, it is embarrassing." Lillie says.

"But what are you doing here?" Ash asks, but then he notices the car that has the Aether Foundation. "Oh...you were here to check out the Pokemon leaving in Aether Foundation?"

Lusamine says, "You can say so. How about we come inside and we can talk about it?"

Both Ash and Lillie nod as they get inside the car, and they see that some staff members are healing a Stufful. "What is wrong with this Pokemon?"

Rotom says, "Stufful, the Flailing Pokémon. A Normal and Fighting type. Although it's adorable, it doesn't like being touched by strangers, and it will flail around dangerously in response."

Aurora says, "As you can see, this Stufful was injured when we found it, so we take it here so that it can have a treatment."

"But if you think of it, it is so cute." Lillie says with a squeal. Ash says, "I know..."

After they decide to leave the Stufful resting, Lusamine says, "We also have some other things to do with our brother. So that is why we are also here."

"Wait, I have an uncle? How come I didn't know about this?" Lillie asks, and then they hear a voice, "Because of your mother's evil self, she doesn't want to talk about me I assume."

Ash freezes as he sees the man in front of him, and Pikachu is also sparkling with electricity after seeing the man in front of them.

"You..." Ash says while taking a step back, and Aurora says, "Ash, Lillie. This is Lusamine's brother, he is a scientist named Colress."

Lusamine says, "Indeed, his theme of his research is: "Bringing out the potential of Pokemon.""

Colress says, "Well, I guess I have met your son before, Aurora."

"I know...you are an evil scientist that had control my Pikachu for Team Plasma. How did you get out of prison anyway?" Ash asks in anger, and this causes the others to get surprised.

"I admit that my methods in the past might be wrong, but I have no intention of siding with Team Plasma for the matter. As for the get out of prison thing, let's say that I served my time and I was out." Colress says.

"Wait, so you were once evil?" Lillie asks, as she can't believe that her uncle is a person who would work with an evil team. Lusamine sighs and says, "Once, but believe me, Colress is a changed person and he has been helping us a lot."

"Of course. What brings out the power of Pokemon is...I believe that is - the bond they share with their Trainers. That is what you taught me back in the Unova Region." Colress says.

Ash is still wary of him and Colress continues, "And thus my attention is drawn to Trainers like yourself...Trainers bound to their Pokemon through the power of the Z-Ring!"

He turns around and wonders, "Z power...is it the true potential that I seek? Does it surpass the Mega Ring?"

"I am not sure about that." Aurora says, "And Ash, I know your worries, but trust me, Colress is not going to harm anyone of us."

"If you say so..." Ash says as he lowers his guard with Pikachu. "So what are you guys doing here?"

Lusamine says, "It is about my husband...or, Lillie's father."

This causes Lillie to get surprised, and she asks, "Wait, you found father?"

"Apparently, he has lost his memories, so that is why Colress and I decide to talk about this." Lusamine says with a frown, "We already have two people who have lost their memories, so we are trying to work on a machine to see if we can help you recover."

"I see...but where is Father? Why can't we met him yet?" Lillie asks, and Aurora says, "He is staying in a place known as Poke Pelago. It is a place where we can have a lot of fun with Pokemon. I asked him to stay there and help taking care of the islands, and he agrees to it. He is sad that he couldn't remember anything about Lillie and Gladion, but he said that he will try remembering if he plays with Pokemon well enough."

"I see." Lillie frowns. "So about the memory recover...maybe we can help out somehow?"

"And please enlighten us." Colress says as Ash and Lillie tell them about the Z Crystals and how they are able to recover her memories.

"So when you got a Z Crystal, you are able to recover some of your memories..." Lusamine says, "Maybe we can use the power of the Z crystals to recover?"

"I am not sure, since we got the Firium Z, but I didn't remember anything after the Professor Sycamore's Summer Camp." Lillie says.

"Well, that is why we have to try it out." Aurora says as Colress is setting up the machine, and both Ash and Pikachu are just staring at him. Even though his mother tells him not to worry about the man in front of him, but he can't help since what happened back in Unova is not a pleasant encounter.

As they are trying with Lillie's memories, Ash decides to train some of his Pokemon, Spearow evolves into a Fearow, and Yungoos evolves into a Gumshoos. After a while, Ash goes to Lillie, who is wearing a special helmet, and he asks, "So does it work?"

Colress says, "I was just finishing the tests, we should ask Lillie if she remembers something."

Ash nods as he helps Lillie taking off the helmet, and Lillie says, "I think I remember something...Ash, I remembered how your Pikachu was able to defeat the Mega Lucario from Korrina and how you got your third badge... And then I finally remembered my dream! I wanted to partake in Showcases."

"That's right!" Ash says, "That was your dream! Anything else?"

"That was when I met Pancham and gave him my favorite sunglasses, which he is still wearing it." Lillie says with a smile. "And I remember that I had a rival named Nini, right? She tried to trade her Farfetch'd with my Pancham, but I refused."

Lillie frowns and says, "And that is all I can remember now..." This causes Ash to frown again as it was so close this time.

"I am sorry, but I think Lillie is a special case...maybe if we can find something more to amplify the machine...that will be great." Colress says, and of a sudden, Nebby is floating around the machine and Lillie yells, "No, Nebby, don't touch Uncle Colress' equipment, they are dangerous."

Nebby just tilts its head and Lillie sighs, "Just why were you out of the bag again..."

After having it get back into the bag, Lusamine says, "So that was Nebby that you told me a lot about?"

Lillie nods and says, "Before I was about to get captured by the staff members under your evil self, she saved me and brought me to Professor Kukui. I was afraid to have her out in the open since I was scared that people might target it."

"I see, I am sure that you two can take good care of it, right?" Aurora asks, and then the two of them nod in agreement. After staying for a while, the Stufful is healed and it wants to go with Ash and Lillie, much to their surprise, but the two of them agree as they capture the Pokemon.

"It's getting a little late." Lusamine looks at the dawn and she asks, "So do you have a place to stay? Or are you going to come with us to the Roadside Motel?"

"I guess we should head there, I really don't like camping too often." Lillie says.

But just as they enter the motel, they are surprised that there is one room that has been rented out nonstop as the boy and the girl paid up two YEARS worth of nights when they first got there. So they go check out and it turns out to be Golly and Gladion.

"Mom? What are you doing here?" Golly and Gladion are surprised to see their parents and Ash and Lillie, as well as Dr. Colress. Lusamine says, "So this is where you were staying after running away from my evil self?"

Gladion sighs and says, "Yeah, Golly and I have been staying here for a year, and we paid two years rent because we are not sure when you would be back."

"I see." Aurora says, "We are not mad at you, we were just renting for a night so that Ash and Lillie can get their Grassium Z tomorrow."

Gladion says, "So you also beat the Fire Trial?" Lillie nods and says, "What do you think about it?"

Gladion smiles and says, "That is very good, seems like you are getting stronger as well."

Then Lusamine also tells Gladion about his uncle Colress, and the fact that Mohn is still alive, both Golly and Gladion are shocked to hear the news, and then they decide to have a long talk this night in the motel.

Here is a new chapter, and Ash and Lillie get to meet Dr. Colress, the former scientist of Team Plasma. Even though this story is based on games, but before this the story will be based on anime, so you can see why Ash doesn't trust Dr. Colress like his mother. And Lillie remembered her memory as Serena up until XY episode 50. Which means that once she get the Grassium Z, she will remember some of the biggest memories in her life. I hope you like this chapter and the next one will be the trial.
