Pressure
The chilling stare of his wife sent shivers down his back. She crossed her arms and huffed.
"Wear your damn glasses," Hermione said threateningly. "You're only going to make your eyesight worse."
Draco shook his head and crossed his own arms. He sent a vicious glare to the pair of glasses lying on their kitchen table. He didn't want them. He didn't need them. That eye doctor was wrong. How dare he say Draco Lucius Malfoy had faulty eyes. "No."
"Oh for Merlin's sake," Hermione sighed before walking to the table and picking up his glasses. "Why don't you want to wear them? There's nothing to be ashamed of. Loads of people wear glasses."
Draco opened his mouth and closed it again. Should he tell Hermione? It really was a ridiculous reason for why he didn't want to wear them. "I'd look hideous," he drawled instead, trying to make sure his wife didn't accidentally come to the realization on her own.
She did that too often for his liking.
Hermione raised a brow and searched his face. "Really? You expect me to believe that's it? I've seen you wear worse things for fun. I don't buy that shoddy excuse one bit." She took a step toward him and smiled softly. "What is it, Draco? Tell me."
Draco sighed. Hermione could always coax anything out of him; she could pressure him into talking with those brown, puppy eyes. Even if she was blurry and her brown eyes weren't visible, it still made him weak. "I don't wanna be compared to Harry," he mumbled, lips barely opening.
Hermione's brows furrowed. "Huh?"
"I don't want to be compared to Harry," Draco repeated loudly, the color red exploding on his face. "It's just. I think the newspapers and magazines will say I copied Harry. Or that I'm trying to copy his good boy image."
Hermione burst into laughter, and Draco groaned.
"See? This is why I didn't want to tell you!"
"No, no," Hermione gasped, placing the glasses on the bridge of his nose. "It's just that, well, you have such a different design than Harry does. Nobody will accuse you of copying him. Besides, don't you want to see me in a clearly?"
Draco swallowed, pushing the glasses further up his nose. "Of course," he whispered, loving the way he was able to clearly see the admiration on Hermione's face.
"Then wear them," Hermione replied, a coy smile on her face as she stepped onto her tiptoes and placed a kiss on his cheek. "Plus, you look cuter like this."
"I think you've mistaken cute for handsome," Draco whined, letting his wife drag him to their bedroom.
"Whatever you say, dear."
