AN: So MKH is on the mend after having to admonish him at LENGTH about not trying to clean or fill cat litter boxes or disassemble swing sets or take out trash or... You get the idea. I told him if he didn't stop I'd sit on him and not in a way he'd like.

As for the story... Do mechanical SGC dream of electronic Jaffa?

Don't even think about it – Episode 16

"Look, all I'm saying is—"

But Jack cut Daniel off. It was out of the question. They were coworkers. Well… sort of. Come to think of it, they really weren't coworkers anymore. Sam had made major repairs to the city infrastructure so it no longer took all five of them to effect repairs. "I don't want to hear it Danny." He told his friend firmly.

"But Jack, it doesn't matter any more. You guys aren't Air Force. You never will be. There's nothing stopping you." Daniel said emphatically because Jack had his hands over his ears and was singing loudly to block out Daniel's voice. When he put his hands down Daniel rushed in quickly with "Just ask her would you?"

"Fine. I'll ask." Jack grumbled moodily and left the room. But even if she returned his feelings what difference did it make? It wasn't like they could settle down and have kids. They were freaking robots now for crying out loud. Which was kind of sweet but didn't make up for the fact that his job wasn't in the way… now his body was.

Jack was, oddly enough, fully functional. But he had zero idea if he was because as a dude you need to release spent coolant in an efficient manner or if their creators really decided certain things were not worth giving up which put them a step ahead of the Asgard in Jack's humble opinion.

Jack was still lost in thought when Sam rounded the corner and almost crashed into him. "Easy Carter." He said putting his hands on her shoulders when she stumbled.

"Sorry Sir, I wasn't paying attention."

"Jack."

"Er… what?"

"Sam."

"Sir?"

"My name is Jack."

"Yes." Sam agreed.

Jack huffed a sigh. "Sam… you aren't my subordinate any more. If anything I follow your orders."

"Well, sort of." She agreed with dimpled smile.

"So…" He waved his hands back and forth.

Sam rolled her eyes. "Is it really that important to you Sir?"

"Yah. I think it is." Jack admitted out loud but especially to himself. Daniel was right. Even if Jack would never tell him so.

"Okay." She said softly.

"Okay." He said with a small smile, encouraged that she acquiesced. He had no idea she didn't really like calling him sir in the fist place. That in her head, he was always just Jack.

"Oh! I almost forgot. I repaired the south power station so we have at least a week's window to gate out and explore." She said excitedly.

Jack grinned. "Want to go some place tropical?"

Sam giggled. "Yes but I was thinking those ruins we came across on that mission to P74-126. Daniel said there was some writing he wanted to examine and I found a power source but then we got dragged off on another mission and it never got reassigned." She told him excitedly.

"They might have checked it by now." It had been months since they had been left on this hell hole of a planet.

"I don't think so. It wasn't on the rotation at all the last time I looked at the rosters."

"Sam, you aren't supposed to be sneaking peeks at my rosters." He admonished her with a little grin and an eye wiggle.

Sam giggled then leaned towards him. "I always peek." She said conspiratorially.

Jack swallowed.

Sam smirked a little as she gave him a once over. "I like your rosters."

Jack's mouth hung open like the crappie that supposedly weren't in his pond in the wilds of Minnesota. This was proceeding at a far quicker pace then he'd expected of the situation.

Amused at his discombobulation Sam advanced. "I think you'd like my rosters too… Sir." And Sam purred that last word in such a way that made Jack's eyes go from alarm to immediate lust.

"Sam we should really talk about this first." Jack swallowed. "I mean… our um… our rosters might not even work that way any more." He stammered out.

"Oh they definitely do… Jack." She said, her voice still that low purr and she advanced oh him again, now being close enough to reach out and touch him.

"They do?" His voice squeaked and Jack winced internally. "Wait how do you—"

Sam had taken the time he was trying to figure things out to come close enough to him to put her hands on either side of his face and claim his lips in a searing kiss. Cutting off any further protest.

When they came up for air she grinned at him. "I asked." She told him then kissed him again.

"You—" But Jack never really got further in that sentence either as certain things that usually happened when he kissed a beautiful woman he was in love with were going on. So apparently that did work as intended. Sweet.

"What?" Sam asked him.

"Nothing." He said with a grin and pulled her in for another more insistent kiss.

Things progressed rapidly at that point and soon Sam was topless and Jacks' pants were unbuttoned and his over shirt unbuttoned.

"Daniel!" Sam suddenly squeaked.

Jack tore his lips away from Sam's neck to see his best friend about to snap a photo of them. "Don't even think about it!" Jack growled at his nosey best friend and turned so the only view Daniel had was of Jack's ass.
