Chapter 16
"No, no, no!" the cloaked figure shouts in rage as he watches Bloom and Silver from his crystal ball.
"With Bloom's Dragon Fire protecting Silver, my influence is completely blocked off! The Dragon Fire is the power that created the entire Magix Dimension! It's practically unstoppable! And if she can put a protection spell over all of Alfea, it'll mean ruin to all my plans!"
The cloaked figure moves his hand over the crystal ball, changing the image from Silver's dorm to Headmistress Faragonda's office.
He smiles, "At least I still have a hold over Alfea's administration, but it won't be enough to keep Bloom from meddling with my plans."
The cloaked figure puts his hands behind his back and turns away from the crystal ball, towards a table covered with potions and powders. He picks a large, leatherbound book off of the table and flips through it.
"I may not be able to overpower the Dragon Fire, but I can disable Bloom's ability to access its might. A disenchantment potion should do the trick…"
The cloaked figure's hand glows red, and potion bottles on the table start to glow red and rise, moving on their own. They mix together in a twister of red smoke, and when the smoke clears, a singular red potion stands in the middle of the table. The cloaked figure takes the potion into his hand, and sniffs the red smoke coming from the opening.
"Yes...this will do nicely. Now, all I need is someone to deliver the potion to Bloom…"
The cloaked figure waves his hand, and from out of the ground, a giant spider crawls up as if the otherwise solid floor were made of mud.
"This summoned creature will do nicely," he chuckles, as he ties the red potion to one of the spider's legs, "now go!"
Ancrua runs into her and Silver's dorm, "You guys! I know who our mysterious messenger is!"
Silver and Bloom, who're just finishing up with the Club Fair banner, look up at her.
"Who is it, Ancrua?" Silver asks.
"Breezy! Balena's cronie!" she explains, "She wants to help, but she's too afraid of Balena. Just like I was."
"We need to show her she shouldn't be afraid to stand up to Balena," Silver tells the others.
"You're right, Silver, but we'll worry about that later. The Club Fair starts soon, and we need to be ready," Bloom counters.
Ancrua nods, "Right."
Jade pours over her textbook, the low light of a single candle glowing over her. Just then, her cell phone goes off.
"Hello-"
"Jade! Jade! The Club Fair's today! We're going to promote the Winx Club there and you should totally come!" Silver shouts excitedly.
Jade sighs, "Do I have to, Silver? Alfea's Club Fair is for...you know, Fairies."
"Don't worry about it! Just wear your disguise like you did last time. Trust me, all the Pixies and teachers will fall for it," Silver suggests.
Jade sighs, there's no way Silver will let her get out of this, "Fine."
"Woo! Can't wait, see you there, sis!" she shouts before hanging up.
Jade rolls her eyes as she puts her phone down. Dec hops onto her lap, stretching himself out on her legs.
"So, how goes you little Fairy club?" he asks.
She chuckles, "We can't recruit a single member. Even with Bloom mentoring us, we don't seem to be getting anywhere."
"Bloom? As in Bloom, queen of Domino and Eraklyon, as well as the guardian of the Dragon Fire?" Dec's piercing eyes widen, "What is she doing tutoring a group of teenagers?"
Jade shrugs, "She practically the founder of the Winx Club, of course she'd want to see its legacy continue at Alfea. Although...I don't quite understand her sometimes."
"Don't distress, my dear Witch. Bloom is one of the strongest Fairies in all of the Magix Dimension, and besides, she's there to teach Fairies, not Witches," Dec tells her, nuzzling his forehead into her stomach.
"I know, it's not that," Jade continues, "it's just that for such a strong...seasoned Fairy, she's still so naive and trusting. She's having Silver and Ancrua promote the Winx Club at Alfea's Club Fair, as if that's actually going to do anything."
Dec hops off her lap and onto the floor, "Well, naive ditz or not, Bloom is an immensely powerful Fairy. Power that could be used to your advantage...should you ever need it."
She raises an eyebrow, "What am I going to do with Fairy magic?"
He purrs, and looks leeringly at Jade, "Trust me, all power has its uses."
