(Hey Guys! Sorry for such a long wait on chapter 4. I just finished school and am finally able to write again. I hope that all of you have been safe and haven't gotten sick. In the review section, let me know if I should write as if they are graduates of 2020 and had to go through quarantine, and maybe even Tiktok famous at some point, or should I keep them in their junior year. Let me know. Now onto the story!)

(I do not own this series. Warning of foul language.)

Beginning of Chapter 4

Once Annabeth and I were finished our coffee, we headed towards the car. Annabeth asked if she could drive since I have no clue as to where we are going. I agree, and we head off.

"Why did you ask me to hang out with you today, Annabeth?" I asked her. I honestly had no clue as to why this girl had any interest in me.

"I find you interesting!" she said, "You're new, tall, you're fucking gorgeous."

Did she just call me of all people, gorgeous? People never call me that. Probably because I don't find myself gorgeous. I was stunned, didn't know what to say.

"You, of all people, think I'm gorgeous?" I say, "Why?"

"You put off this energy that says that you don't care about what happens. And I can also tell that you are smart, even if you think you're not. You deserve the world, more than most people."

Annabeth is the sweetest person on the planet. I cannot wait to become her friend, or maybe more.

"Anyways, where are we going? You never said where we were going to go when you got in the driver's seat."

"It's a surprise, Percy," she said, "You'll have to wait until we get there."

I texted my mom telling her that I might not make it to dinner.

A couple of hours later

We finally arrived at the place that Annabeth had said was the surprise. We drove five and a half hours to Los Angeles to see the Hollywood sign. I think she wants us to hike up there. If I had to guess anything else, I bet that she'd want us to watch the sunset.

"We're here!" Annabeth finally stated. I was excited. Not only because I made a new friend, but because we're making memories that could last a lifetime. I honestly loved the drive here, and I can't wait until Annabeth takes me to the final spot.

As I predicted, we hiked up to the Hollywood sign, or as far up as we could go. We sat there for about an hour before heading back to the car so that we'd be able to go eat. We didn't pack any food for the road trip, so you imagine how hungry we both were.

By the time we were finished eating, the sun was down, and it was late. We decided that the safest thing to do was to stay at a hotel for the night. Since my first day of school was on a Friday, for some odd reason, we were able to follow this plan.

I phoned my mom and told her the plan since I had already told her where we were. She asked me when I'd be back and then told me to have fun.

We searched up the closest hotel near us on my phone, then from there, went to a gas station to fill up on gas and to get snacks for the night ahead of us. I have never had an adventure quite like this and I'm glad that I get to enjoy it with someone I feel that I'll be able to get close too.

Once we filled the car and got our snacks, we headed to the hotel. It looked nice, so we thought that the inside would look nice too. We were wrong. Just because it looked nice on the outside, doesn't mean that the rooms are going to be nice. They smelled weird and the bedspread looked like it was thrown onto the bed. I don't think that either Annabeth or I, will ever be coming back to this hotel.

We turned on the TV to see what was on and saw that Spongebob was on, so we settled on watching that. They had a microwave in the room, so we were able to pop popcorn that we bought at the gas station. We also got Sour Patch Kids, Twizzlers, Nacho Doritos, and two bottles of our favourite soda.

After watching three episodes of Spongebob, we both felt tired and decided to go to bed. Since we didn't have anything, we had to sleep in the clothes that we wore throughout the day.

The Next Morning

Annabeth woke me up around seven-thirty so that we could get a head start on our day. We grabbed my keys, locked the door behind us and headed for the car. I could be happier leaving that disgusting hotel room.

We were on the road for about five minutes before finding somewhere to eat for breakfast. The outside look fun, and being teenagers, we decided that that was the perfect place. When we got in, they sat us down at a table and asked us what we wanted to drink.

"Chocolate milk, please," I said.

"A coffee?" Annabeth asked.

"I'll be right back with your drinks," the waiter told us.

As we looked at the menus, I noticed that they had pancakes. Now only if they could make them blue. That would be amazing.

"Here are your drinks," The waiter said, "Have you decided on what you want to eat?"

"Yes," Annabeth said, "I'll get a ham and cheese omelet with hash browns."

"Alrighty!" The waiter said, "And for you."

"Do you by any chance have blue food colouring?" I asked the waiter.

"I believe so." He replied.

"Okay," I started, "can I get pancakes dyed blue, bacon, two eggs, sunny side up, and hash browns?"

The waiter looked stunned by my order. I don't think that anybody had ordered blue pancakes before. "Yeah, for sure," He replied.

While we waited for our food, I asked Annabeth about herself. What she dreamed of being, if she ever wanted kids, and if so, how many. I honestly feel that I made a connection with someone that I have only made once. And that was with Grover.

Once we were done our food, I paid while I got Annabeth to turn on the car. I was driving home today since she drove on the way here. And then we were off on our five and a half-hour adventure.

End of Chapter 4
