"So until we get down to the bottom of this, no one can know I've lost my powers," Bloom explains, as she talks to Sky over her communication bracelet.
"I'll try my best, Bloom, but how could this have happened?" Sky asks.
"That's what we're trying to figure out," she explains, as she sits on top of a bed inside Alfea's school hospital, "ever since I was hit with that potion from that monster, I haven't been able to access the Dragon Fire at all."
"Who would do something like that? At Alfea of all places?" Sky wonders aloud.
Bloom glances around the hospital to make sure no one else is around, "If I'm being honest, I think it was Silver's sister, Jade. She's a Witch, and when I asked her about becoming a Fairy, she didn't seem too enthusiastic about it. That's never a good sign."
"Of course, those Witches again! They're always causing trouble."
"But the problem is, Silver still believes there's good in her sister. I can't fault her, I'd do the same for my sister Daphne, but the difference between the two of them is that Daphne is a Fairy, and Jade is a Witch, and I don't know if that's ever going to change."
"Well, be careful around her, Bloom. We don't know what she's capable of," Sky warns her.
"Thanks Sky," Bloom smiles, "I miss you."
"I miss you too, Bloom. Talk to you soon, okay?"
She grins as the holographic image of Sky disappears, "Soon."
Silver and Ancrua get ready in their dorm for the formal dance at Red Fountain. Silver's dress matches her hair, a sleek strapless gown with sequins and a flower-shaped diamond pinned at the breast. Ancrua's dress has a high collar, deep blues and greens trailing down to the long train lined with ruffles. She takes off her glasses before she starts applying mascara in the mirror on Silver's side of the room.
"I hope Jade remembered the dance is tonight, she hasn't been responding to my texts," Silver tells Ancrua, as she brushes her hair.
"If she doesn't want to go, you can't force her, Silver," Ancrua responds.
"I know, but, forget being a Fairy, how is she supposed to be a normal girl if she doesn't go to dances and meet boys? I thought maybe that Wizard guy was her boyfriend, but no…"
Ancrua sets down her makeup, before putting her hands on her hips, "You don't need to go to dances and meet boys to be a normal girl. Maybe she's just interested in other things."
"Maybe…" Silver ponders, "but I still can't understand how someone would just bail on a dance like this."
Ancrua smiles and raises an eyebrow, "Maybe your problem is that you think too much about boys and dances. That's why your grades are so low."
"Hey! I don't have low grades, I'm just a late bloomer! I'll get my Charmix...eventually," Silver pouts, before returning to brushing her hair, "...hey, you think it would be better if I put my hair up, or kept it down?"
The cloaked figure, surrounded by red mist, twirls his hands around his crystal ball. The image of Specialists at Red Fountain preparing for the dance appear.
"A dance at Red Fountain? All the Fairies and Specialist of Magix in one place? It's the perfect opportunity to begin introducing my evil influence into their minds. And now that Bloom's magic has been disabled, nothing's stopping me!"
The cloaked figure snaps his fingers, and a thick cloud of red smoke starts to appear in front of him.
"For this, I will need to summon my most powerful monster yet, a monster immune to all good magic...the Fairies and Specialists will be powerless to stop it…and I will rule over both magical schools!"
The dance at Red Fountain is in full swing as Fairies and Specialists mingle, talking and helping themselves to snacks. Silver and Ancrua appear at the entrance, and Silver spots someone immediately.
"Michael!"
She pushes past a crowd of people in order to reach the Specialist, who smiles and waves at her.
"You finally made it! I was wondering where you were."
They embrace, and then Michael turns and greets Ancrua before asking, "Hey, where's Jade? Didn't she say she'd be here?"
"That's what we thought too, guess not-" Silver stops in the middle of her sentence when she notices someone at the entrance.
Jade stands at the front, wearing a sharp, forest green gown with a low v-neck collar, and white trimming. She has matching green gloves, and a choker with a jade gemstone secured at the center.
"That...is not the dress we recommended…" Silver mumbles in shock, unsure of how to react.
Ancrua tries to compliment her, "It's nice...it's very...her…"
Silver suddenly grabs Ancrua by her dress, "This is a disaster! Look at that dress! Sharp angles, dark colors?! Now everyone's gonna know she's a-"
"Witch!" someone shouts, pointing right at Jade.
All the Fairies and Specialists in the room draw their weapons and ready their magic spells as Jade stands somewhat timidly at the entrance of the dance.
"Uhm...I was told this dance was open invitation," she explains with an awkward smile.
Silver, Ancrua, and Michael run towards Jade, throwing themselves in front of the crowd.
"Stop! She's my sister!" Silver tells the other Fairies.
"She's a Witch! She's just here to cause trouble!" one of the Fairies accuses her.
Before Jade can respond, there's a crashing sound from the right side of the building. Everyone turns to see a gigantic dragon crashing through Red Fountain. It breathes fire, and the guests flee the fiery red flames. Fairies in the room transform, including Silver and Ancrua, and begin shooting an endless barrage of colorful spells at the monster, but their magic doesn't phase the monster one bit.
"Our magic doesn't seem to have any effect on it!" Ancrua realizes aloud, as she and Silver fly out of the way of the dragon's swiping claws.
"Don't worry ladies, I've got this!" Michael declares, as he unsheathes his green broadsword.
He charges directly at the monster, taking a superhuman leap that launches him up into the air, putting him at eye level with the enormous dragon. The other Fairies and Specialists gasp at his feat, and Silver brims with pride.
Michael lifts up his sword and prepares to strike, ready for his sword to cleave right through the terrorous monster. But the dragon's scales cause his sword to bounce right off of it, not even creating a dent in the creature. The dragon leans back, and an incredible torrent of fire begins building up in its mouth.
"Michael! Look out!"
Silver flies up just in time to push Michael out of the way as a volley of fire erupts from the dragon's mouth, searing the dance floor below. She brings Michael back to the ground and turns to Ancrua.
"Both Fairy and Specialist magic seem to have no effect! What do we do?"
The dragon let's out a monstrous roar, before swiping with its sharp claws. More of the roof of the Red Fountain ballroom collapses, and Ancrua casts a spell to catch the falling debris.
"Silver, put up a shield! I'm going to try and redirect the dragon's flame!" Jade shouts, before running towards the dragon.
"What is she doing?!" Ancrua cries out.
Silver grits her teeth, but after only a moment of hesitation, she puts her hands up, "I don't know...but I'm going to do what she says! Shield of light!"
Silver's shield grows out from her hands, expanding to cover all the broken parts of the roof and wall. Jade stands on the outer terrace, ready to face the dragon.
Ancrua turns to Silver in disbelief, "You're really going to trust her?!"
"Yes!"
Green fire appears in both of Jade's hands, and a circle of flame begins to surround her as the dragon builds up its next attack. A rush of fire releases from the creature's mouth and engulfs Jade, the red fire encircling her, swallowing her green fire whole. The fire rushes past Jade completely, but Silver's shield holds, protecting the Red Fountain ballroom and the rest of the students.
"Jade!"
With the fire still rushing on, Silver loses her concentration and her shield disappears, causing the last of the flames to hurtle towards the building. Ancrua flies up as Silver rushes straight towards the fire.
"Mega storm!"
Clouds gather around the roaring fire and a downpour drenches the flames, combating the fire just enough so that Silver doesn't become consumed as well.
But another force pulls the flames away, so much that even the distressed Silver stops in her tracks. The dragon's fire has been absorbed by Jade, who's emanating with power, her gown now completely ruined by the fire.
"I...just...bought...this...dress! Raging fire!"
Jade releases a jetstream of fire at the dragon, her green fire coming back at the dragon with twice the force it had. The dragon lets out a terrible roar, before tumbling backwards into the trees surrounding Red Fountain.
With all the flame and fire gone, Silver is able to safely run to her sister as she collapses onto the ground. Silver is able to catch her, but it's not long before the both of them are surrounded by other Fairies and Specialists.
"She's the Witch! She's responsible for this!"
"We have to get rid of her! She attacked our school!"
"Of course this is what happens when we let a Witch join the party."
Silver's eyes flit around frantically, "No! She fought the dragon! I don't know how-"
"There she is Headmaster Saladin, she's the Witch."
Silver looks up to find Michael has led the headmaster of Red Fountain right to them. Jade just begins to gain conscience when the headmaster points an accusatory finger at her.
"In my office right this minute, young lady!"
Jade takes one look at Headmaster Saladin and passes out again into Silver's arms.
