Author: Hey everyone! This chapter is long overdue. I'm so sorry for leaving you all on cliffhanger for so long.
To those who read this chapter when I first uploaded it: Sorry about all the weird codes. I think the reason the chapter came out like that is because I copy and pasted it from Microsoft word. I'm not sure but hopefully it's fixed now.
Anyways, enjoy!
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
My eyes slowly opened to the sound of a loud beeping noise. Once my blurry vision cleared, I noticed I was in a white room. A...hospital room?
Wh-what ha...ppened...?
I moved my hand to brush my bangs out of my face, but when I did so, I noticed something. I no longer had fur. I examined my hands to see that my fur was back to skin. I touched the top of my head to feel that my tiger ears were gone.
I'm back to normal?
Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. Before I could even ask who it was, the door opened. As soon as the person entered the room, my brown eyes widened in shock.
A-A-Anthony...?!
"Hey, Princesa." He said. I was too shocked to even say anything.
I'm...I'm home?!
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he sat down in the seat next to me. Finally, I opened my mouth to say something, but for some reason, nothing came out.
What's wrong with me...? Why can't I talk?
I heard a sad sigh. "Still not talking yet?" I tried to open my mouth again but still to no avail. "You know your mom is really worried about you..."
Ma...I hope she's ok...
"Oh yea, I won the track meet! Not like there was any surprise." He said, happily flashing me his medal he was wearing around his neck. But then his smile quickly faded away. "Please come back...I miss you...a lot..." He said just above a whisper.
What does he mean come back? I'm right here!
There was a knock at the door. "Come in." Anthony said. A woman in nursing scrubs peeked into the room. "Excuse me, sir. Visiting hours at Troubled Waters Mental Hospital are over."
"Ok, thank you." Anthony replied as the nurse left the room. "... Well, I'll let you get some rest. I'll come check on you again tomorrow." He said, as he stood up.
Wait! No! Please don't leave!
I tried to object but I still couldn't move. It was like my whole body was completely paralyzed. Just as Anthony turned around to leave, he stopped in his tracks and looked back at me.
At that moment, Anthony took off his medal placed it around my neck. "Come back to me soon, Princesa." He said, before kissing the top of my head and leaving me alone in the room.
No! Anthony, wait! I'm right here! Please don't leave me!

My eyes snapped opened to see that I was in my bedroom. Well, not my room but the room that Amy let me stay in. I released a deep breath as my mind thought back to my dream I just had.
What was up with that dream? Better question, why did it feel so familiar in a way?
That's right! It wasn't really a dream it was more of a memory. I remember that time I spent in the mental hospital after... the incident. My mind was like a blank slate. I stopped talking. I stopped eating. I stopped doing anything. I was like that for a while. The doctors put me on different medications, trying to fix me, but none of them worked. Everyone started to give up on me. Everyone except Anthony. He was the only one that came to visit almost every day and talked to me like I was alright even though I mentally wasn't.
Eventually, I was well enough to leave the mental hospital and go back home. My doctor put me on medication to keep me 'stable', but I stopped taking them after a while due to all the headaches I kept having.
I sat up noticing the bandages all over my body.
What's with the bandages?
That's when everything started to come back to me. Everything that happened back at Eggman's base. Surprisingly, I only felt a little sore from the injuries.
I was about to run my fingers through my hair until something prevented my hand from moving. Confused, I looked down where my hand was to see the blue demon himself. He was sitting by my bedside, sound asleep. His hand was wrapped tightly around mine.
Heat began to rise in my cheeks as a small smile grew on my lips. Without thinking, I used my free hand to reach over and scratch behind his ear. In response, a low moan came from him as his tail began to wag a little. I couldn't help but giggle at this.
He finally began to stir out of his sleep. He sat up and sleepily rubbed his eyes. His eyes widened in surprise and relief. "Sasha! You're awake!"
"Yea...I'm awake." I said, smiling weakly. "How are you feeling?" He asked, worriedly. "Just really sore, but I'll be ok. How long have I been out?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. "About two days..." He said. My eyes widened in shock. "TWO DAYS?!" I exclaimed as I almost jumped out of bed. "Woah! Take it easy! It's not like you missed much anyways." He said, calming me down.
After a moment or two of silence, Sonic decided to speak up. "Listen, Sasha...I'm sorry...about what you saw when we were rescuing you from Eggman..." He said with his ears drooping in shame. My thoughts flowed back to the events that took place that day. "It's alright..."
"You're not... afraid of me...are you?" He asked, warily. After thinking about it, for a minute or two, I shook my head. "Nope."
Sure, the moment was pretty scary, but it wasn't enough to traumatize me.
Sonic looked at me with wide eyes. "Really? Are...are you sure?" I nodded. "Don't worry, You're still my favorite character."
"Wait, what?"
"Uhh- I mean person!"
At that moment, a certain yellow fox entered the room. "Sasha! You're awake!" He exclaimed happily. "Yea, I'm not dead yet." I joked. "How are you feeling?" He asked. "I feel like a truck ran me over, backed up, then ran me over again." I replied. "Well, you do have quite a few injuries. Speaking of which, I need to change your bandages now."
"Alright, then."
"Sonic, you don't have to stay here for this. Why don't you go rest for while? Those bags under your eyes look big enough to carry groceries." Tails said.
"I think I should be here, just in case Sasha needs me." Sonic said in concern.
"Don't worry, Sonic. Go eat a chillidog or something. I'll still be here when you come back." I assured, waving him off. "Fine. I'll come check up on you later. Ok?" He said, as he stood up and stretched his arms. "Alright."
With that being said, Sonic gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before walking out the room, leaving me a blushing mess. "Awww, Sasha. You're blushing."
"Shut up, Tails!"

Sonic P.O.V.
"Ahh! I feel much better now!" I said, leaving Uncle Chuck's Diner. I was about to head back over to Tails' place to check on Sasha until I bumped into someone. "Oops! Heh...Sorry, Ames." I said, rubbing the back of my neck. "It's alright..." She said, avoiding eye contact.
We really need to end this awkward tension between us...
"Listen, Amy. I'm sor-"
"No, Sonic. It's me who should apologize. I shouldn't have gotten mad and attacked Sasha like that. You should be allowed to date whoever you want. Even if it's not me..."
Wow...I wasn't expecting that...
"Well, umm...thanks, Amy. That's pretty big of you." I said, slightly surprised. "Any news about Sasha?" She asked. "She finally woke up this morning. Before I left, Tails was changing her bandages. I was on my way back over there now. Do you want to come?"
"Of course."

Sasha's P.O.V.
"What do you mean her injuries are completely healed?" Sonic asked, while we were allgathered in Tails's lab."I'm telling you, it's almost like they were never there in the first place." Tails exclaimed to Sonic. "How is that possible? Those weren't just minor injuries." Sonic asked in disbelief. "Well, about that. I've been running some more tests. You won't believe the results!"
"What's wrong?!" Amy asked, equally curious. "I studied a small sample of Sasha's blood. Apparently, Sasha has chaos energy!"
"What?!"
"Are you serious?!"
"How did that happen?!"
"Sasha, when you first got here, didn't you say Eggman used some kind of gas to turn you into a tiger?" Tails asked. "Yea, that's right." I replied while playing with my tail. "Eggman somehow extracted chaos energy from chaos emeralds and made it a gas. When he sprayed you with the gas, it must have sinked into your bloodstream and DNA." He explained.
"Whoa! That's crazy! So that means means that Sasha is connected to the chaos emeralds!" Sonic exclaimed, completely bewildered. "This is so cool! Do I only have fast healing, or can I do other stuff? Like teleport or go super or something like that?" I asked, unable to hide my excitement.
"Well, let's try something. Here, take this!" Tails said as he handed me the red emerald that I took from Eggman's base. As soon it came in contact in my hand, I felt it's warmth.
"Ok, soooooo...how does this work?" I asked examining the emerald in confusion. "Well, the chaos emerald is connected to the user's mind. If the user has a positive mindset, then good things will happen. But if the user has a negative mindset, then bad things will happen." Tails explained.
"Ok, I think we're done here!" I said, practically tossing the emerald back to Tail as if it were a hot potato. "Wha-why?!" He asked in confusion. "Trust me, I don't think that's a good idea." I said, backing away a bit.
"But-"
"Tails...It's ok..." Sonic said to Tails who was about to object. "Are you ok, Sasha?" Amy asked as she placed a hand in my shoulder. "I'm...alright."
"Ok, I understand... I hope we can at least try something before you leave tomorrow." Tails said as he disappointedly placing the emerald back in its protective case. My ears perked up at what he said. "Wait, what do you mean leave tomorrow?"
"Sonic, you didn't tell her yet?" Tails questioned. "Umm...I was getting around to it." Sonic said as he nervously scratching his head. "Tell me what?" I asked, tilting my head in confusion. Sonic sighed deeply before putting his hands on my shoulders. "Listen, Sasha...we are gonna have to move you someplace else. Someplace outside of New Mobotropolis..." I blinked a few times, trying to process what he just said. "Wh-what...? But...but why?" I asked. "We're doing this to keep you safe from Eggman. After what happened two days ago, we don't want to risk having you get hurt again."
"Oh...I understand..." I replied, feeling slightly disappointed. "Don't worry. You're going to be staying with a friend of ours in Station Square. You'll be safe there."
"Does it have to be tomorrow, though?" Amy asked, sadly. "Well, we were going to wait a few days so that Sasha can have time to heal. But now that she has healed sooner than we thought, it's best that we move her as soon as possible."
~The next day~
The next morning, I had packed up all of my belongings from Amy's house. I had to admit, I was pretty disappointed to leave. Amy and I have become pretty good friends. I can tell she was sad to see me go, but she understood that we were doing this to keep me safe from Eggman.
After saying goodbye to everyone in New Mobotropolis, Sonic rode with me on the train to Station Square. He could have just ran the both of us there in seconds, but surprisingly, he asked to take the long way. I shifted my brown irises over to the blue hedgehog next to me who was staring out the window. He hasn't said a word to me since we left New Mobotropolis.
"Sonic?" I addressed as I put my hand on top of his. He looked at me with solemn emerald green eyes. "You need to smile to smile more often." I said, giving him the goofiest grin, I could muster. He stared at me for a moment before he started laughing.
"You're gonna miss me, aren't you?" I asked with a small smirk on my face. "Is it that obvious?" He asked, after calming down. "Yes. Yes, it is." I joked, causing him to give me a playful glare. "Don't worry. I'm just going to be in town for a while. It's not like I'm going away forever." I said as I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Not yet anyways..." He mumbled to himself, causing my smile to falter.
He's right...I almost forgot for a minute that I'm not from this world and that I will soon have to return to my own painful reality...
"Hey, Sasha." He addressed as he wrapped his arm around me. "Hm?" I hummed as looked up at him. "Good job at keeping your promise. You have a cute smile." He said before placing a small kiss on my nose. Feeling my cheeks grow warm, I buried my face into my hoodie.
"Awww, you're so adorable."
"Shut up, before I push you off this train!"
~Time Skip~
We finally got off the train and were walking to meet this 'friend.'
I wonder who it is. Do I know this character? Will I get along with him or her? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
We walked up to a nice-looking house. Once we arrived at the front door, Sonic knocked on it twice. After a moment of shuffling around, the door opened, revealing a familiar face.
"Well, if it isn't Big Blue. Long time no see."
"Hey, Rouge. This is my friend, Sasha, I told you about." Sonic introduced.
"We've met before. How ya doin', hun? I heard about your time spent with Eggman." She said, giving me a smile. "I'm...alright. Still a bit sore in some places." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "So, you remember everything I told you?" Sonic asked.
"Of course. Don't worry, Sonic. I promise that your precious little friend here will be safe with me." She said throwing her arm around my shoulder.
Sonic sighed. "Alright, then." He said, before giving me a sad smile."Well, I guess I'll see you later..." I gave him a small smile. "Yea, see you later..." With that being said, Sonic gave me one last embrace before speeding off.
"Soooo, you and Big Blue, huh?" Rouge said as she nudged me in my side. "Wait, wha-! N-n-no, it's nothing like that! I mean-! It's just-!" My babbling was cut off by her burst of laughter. "Calm down, hun! I'm just messing with you!" She said in between her laughs. I shot a glare at the bat, which probably wasn't effective due to my red cheeks."Awww, don't make that face, hun. C'mon, I'll show you around." She said as she pulled me inside.
Why do I feel like everyone I've met on this planet just enjoys seeing me flustered? Bunch of sadists...
Rouge's place was smaller than Amy's place, but it had a bit of an elegant touch to it. After going upstairs, we came to a small corridor with two doors across from each other. "This is your room right here." She said as she opened the door on the left.
It was a pretty spacious room. The walls were painted purple while the furniture all black. The room even had its own bathroom, which was pretty cool. But the best thing about it all was that there was no pink! I couldn't help but let a tear slip out of my eyes. "Are you ok, Sasha?"
"It's just so nice to finally be in a room that's not pink." I admitted, wiping away the tear. "I don't blame you. Spending too much time in Pinky's house would drive me crazy, too. Anyways, I'll let you get settled in. If you need me, my room is across the hall."
"Alright. Thanks."
"No problem." With that being said, Rouge went to her room and left me alone. I blew on my bangs allowing them fly in random directions. I dropped my bags on the floor and flopped down on the bed.
It seems like so much has happened recently. First off, I was kidnapped and held hostage by Eggman (again.) I managed to escape and stole a chaos emerald. After nearly dying, I had an encounter with Dark Sonic. And now, I'm staying in Station Square at Rouge the Bat's house.
Oh yea, let's not forget that I somehow have chaos energy in my veins. That's actually pretty cool. I'm really curious about finding out what I can do with it, but it's probably best that don't. I didn't mean to freak out the way I did. It's just that my mind isn't the most stable mind. I don't want to risk causing any sort of disaster.
Sighing one last time, I grabbed my bag and began unpacking my things.
