Andy: Are you okay?
DarkFoxKit: *Pokes at her stitches* I can't believe I needed another surgery for appendicitis. How many more things am I going to have to deal with before 2020 is even over?
ZAFT: No clue. :P Just be glad it was something simpler this time. :P
DarkFoxKit: I'm just glad my appendicitis didn't cause my organ to burst before I got the surgery. *shivers*
Andy: You're a trooper. Isn't she, Takuya?
Takuya: She sure is. :3
ZAFT: Just a few more days and a new year is coming in. :3
DarkFoxKit: Let's hope the new year will be better than 2020. It's a shame though, that 2020 will always be remembered as being a bad year for a lot of people.
ZAFT: Yep. But enough bad memories. Let's get on with the chapter and give readers something to enjoy. :3

Chapter 44: Turning a Nightmare into a Dream
"Hurricane Gale!" Zephyrmon shouted as she managed to get the arrow-like feathers into Petaldramon's face.
Petaldramon groaned as his fractal code began to show. Danny sighed, not liking that he was about to go into Dash's head of all people. He so owes me for this…
Danny flew into Petaldramon's body.
The Warrior of Wood gave a gasp as he felt a chill enter his body, but it felt… familiar as well… The feeling faded as Petaldramon went still, his eyes hidden from view.
"No! Petaldramon!" Beowolfmon shouted.
"Looks like it's just you now, wolf boy," Zephyrmon giggled.
Aldamon tried to get up, but he was still weakened.
"Look out!" The good Tapirmon suddenly shouted.
"Wah?" Aldamon blinked before he was suddenly surrounded by other Tapirmon.
"The Master requires your assistance, Warrior of Flame," The Tapirmon said.
They grabbed onto Aldamon before they teleported away somewhere.
"Takuya!" JP called out. "What happened to him?"
"The Tapirmon took him somewhere… likely to Dreammon." The good Tapirmon frowned.
Meanwhile, in Petaldramon's mind, Danny groaned when he saw a naked Dash in a green orb. "Okay, Takuya was one thing, but I really didn't need to see what Dash looked like naked."
Danny then blushed a bit. But really… I had to free Zoe, a girl! Good thing I didn't peek…
Shaking his head, Danny steeled himself before flying into Dash's mind.
"Alright, let's see what kind of fears Dash has…" Danny looked around. "Huh… this is Amity Park… it's not so bad… except all the ghosts, but still, nowhere near as bad as Takuya's nightmare."
Danny tried to sense for Dash as he flew through the ghost infested Amity Park. Amity Park here looked a bit different than the real Amity Park, some of the buildings looked way bigger or smaller than they actually were, and a few looked like giant footballs, or dessert food. Though what surprised Danny was the park, there were beautiful trees and nature growing throughout the city. Sam would love this version of Amity Park… minus the weird buildings and ghosts.
"Wow… I wonder if being the Warrior of Wood or whatever he is has made Dash appreciate nature more…" Danny mused before he frowned. "Great… now I am wondering if Dash is thinking of going vegan…"
Then Danny sensed Dash nearby, he quickly followed the sense. He saw Dash's house, which was actually pretty accurate to his real house. He could hear people yelling inside. Frowning, Danny turned himself invisible and intangible before he flew into the building.
"Why can't you understand? I can't be a straight A student and worry about all the freaking sports the school has!" Dash snapped at two adults Danny didn't recognize.
"You will be the best student and best athlete." The older man said sternly. "Otherwise you will be the failure you are turning out to be."
"It's too much stress! I'm already being worked to the ground by Coach Testlaff, I don't need to be drowned in homework and text books by the other teachers too!" Dash growled.
Danny blinked at what he was seeing. Huh… I didn't know Dash was under such pressure from his relatives… is this.. what his home life is like?
The older woman suddenly slapped Dash in the face, which surprised Danny.
"You're a failure because you are so lazy! You stupid slacker! We've given you and your parents everything you could ever need! And you pay us back with this attitude!? We should've just left your ungrateful sorry ass out in the streets!" The woman screamed angrily.
"You're weak, Dash," The man stated. "And the weak will always be consumed by the strong, which you will soon learn if you don't get your act together."
"No… I won't be a failure!" Dash exclaimed. "I am already trying my best and it's not good enough for you?! What do you want from me?! I can't be perfect!"
The man then punched Dash hard enough to make him fall to the floor. "Shut up. We're sick of hearing your belly aching. The next time we hear you did poorly on a test, we may not be so kind to you."
That was being KIND? Danny frowned.
Dash actually paled at hearing that. "You… don't mean…" He hated the particular punishment that awaited him.
The two people both sneered at Dash, that was all the answer he needed before they walked away.
Danny frowned at this. He hated to do this, but he had no choice it seemed. Oh boy… here we go...
Before Danny could do anything, he was surprised when Dash suddenly punched the wall behind him. "Weak… I've worked my butt off on a daily basis until my body is about to explode, and they still think I'm weak… Fenton's weird parents are the town's laughing stock, and yet they don't seem to care. They still love their kids… and yet if I mess one little thing up… ugh… why couldn't I have been born as a Fenton?"
Danny blinked, surprised at what he was hearing. Hold on… Dash… wants to be a Fenton? This… wow… talk about learning something new about someone…
There was a strange feeling of sadness in his chest, but while Danny did feel bad for Dash, he knew it wasn't coming from him. A small light came out of Danny's chest, which surprised the ghost boy, before it went over to Dash. Dash blinked as he looked up at the light. The light then turned into a projection of Andy.
"A-Andy?" Dash stammered out as he stared at the projection.
Andy didn't say anything. He just opened his arms. Dash stared for a moment. "C-come on, man… I don't do mushy…"
But Dash could only hold himself back for a few more seconds before he accepted Andy's hug. Andy comforted Dash by patting him on the back. Danny stared at the scene before him, his jaw nearly dropping.
W-wha… Okay, not only does Takuya have some explaining to do, but so does Andy! Danny thought to himself, not sure if this was real or not. Technically it wasn't, but he wasn't sure if that was the real Andy.
Andy gave Dash a smile before he pointed at Danny, who wasn't invisible anymore. Dash blinked, seeing Danny floating over them.
"The… ghost boy…?" Dash asked hesitantly.
Andy just gave Dash an encouraging smile before he disappeared.
Dash then looked back at the ghost boy. "Um… what are you doing here?"
"Uh… I'm here to… help you," Danny said, trying to recompose himself. "Yeah, I'm here to get you out of this nightmare."
Dash blinked. "You want to… I'm in a nightmare?"
"Yeah. The others are waiting… they need your help," Danny answered before holding out his gloved hand. "Will you let me get you out?"
Dash looked at the offered hand. He seemed to be thinking before he made up his mind. He reached out and took the hand. "Anything is better than being in this nightmare again and again."
Danny nodded as Dash took his hand and he began to fly them out.
When Danny flew out of Petaldramon's body, Petaldramon groaned before he reverted back to his human form. "Oh gosh… Uhhh… yeah, I feel like a lot has happened without me."
JagerLoweemon walked over. "Trust me; it has." He said to Dash. "But are you okay?"
"Y-yeah… yeah, I'm okay." Dash frowned. "Was I… under the effects of the Nightmare Syndrome?"
"Yeah… most of us were," JagerLoweemon answered.
"Oh… um… how many of us are now?" Dash questioned.
"Just one…" JagerLoweemon sighed before looking back at Beowolfmon.
Dash looked surprised. "Only one of us is left under the control of the enemy? Wow… I wonder how we got freed."
"No clue, but I'm thankful for it," JagerLoweemon said. "But… I think I remember a ghost boy pulling me out of a nightmare I was having."
Dash blinked. "That's what happened to me too…" He noted.
JP blinked as well. "Hey… I remember that too now that you mention it…"
Beowolfmon hit Zephyrmon with his beo saber. She yelled as she fell to the ground before reverting back to her human form, groaning in pain.
JagerLoweemon's red eyes flashed in anger. "That's it! No more of this!" He shouted as he lunged towards Beowolfmon. "Air Black King!" He pushed off the ground as the dark aura surrounded him again, intent on ending the fight before his twin brother could hurt anyone else.
Beowolfmon blocked JagerLoweemon's attack with his beo saber before pushing him back. "I won't give up… I will make sure Master's goal is seen through!"
"Koji! Stop this! We don't need to keep fighting each other," JagerLoweemon spoke up.
But Beowolfmon wasn't willing to listen to reason. "No! I won't stop! The Master needs to have his goal succeed!"
JagerLoweemon jumped at Beowolfmon. "Dark Master!"
Beowolfmon held up his beo saber. "Frozen Hunter!"
Beowolfmon's blade sliced through JagerLoweemon's armor, freezing his stomach. JagerLoweemon let out a roar of pain as fractal code surrounded him.
"Koichi!" The others called out in concern.
Koichi fell to the ground in front of Beowolfmon, his side covered in ice. He shivered as he held his icy side. Beowolfmon looked down at the injured Koichi, and he let out a gasp, his eyes widening in horror. His memory of Koichi hurt, and dying, struck him hard. He dropped his beo saber.
"N-no… K-Koichi…?" Beowolfmon rasped out, his words stammering slightly. "Koichi… I… I'm sorry…" He fell to his knees, slowly reaching for Koichi's injured form. But there was no intent to hurt him.
Beowolfmon, having lost the will to fight, seeing how he hurt Koichi, reverted back to his human form. Seeing this, Danny took this chance to fly into Koji's body. It was time to release the last of the Legendary Warriors from this nightmare.
Polarmon held out his claws, the claws began to extend as ice began to coat them. "Icicle Blade. Time to slice you up until there's nothing left of you to regenerate!"
Polarmon jumped at Dreammon. Dreammon gave a scared look, before he suddenly gave an evil smirk. The evil smirk threw Polarmon off, Why is he smirking like that?
Suddenly, Aldamon appeared right in front of Polarmon. Polarmon's blue eyes widened in shock, but he couldn't stop his attack now. His Icicle Blade slashed through Aldamon's armor, piercing right into his waist.
An agonized cry of pain escaped the Warrior of Flame as he felt the blades cut into his sides. It hurt like hell, and he was sure he would be badly hurt if not gaining scars from the attack.
"TAKUYA!" Polarmon cried out, seeing that he just accidentally attacked his older brotherly figure.
Aldamon didn't even hear Polarmon's cry, he was barely conscious now. His breathing was somewhat labored now, and he was barely aware of the world around him. He fell to the ground, landing on his back limply. Fractal code surrounded Aldamon, returning him back to being human. His side was bleeding.
Polarmon stared at the bleeding Takuya in horror. "No… what have I done…?"
Dreammon laughed maniacally. "You just hurt you friend~ How sad…"
Polarmon stared at Takuya, his Digi-Core beating against his chest. It was all he could hear, everything else around him was silent. His friend, his brother, was lying there, bleeding, dying likely… it was his fault… no… it was Dreammon, Dreammon did this to him. Polarmon gritted his teeth, his form started to grow larger, a dark blue aura surrounded him. His fur became more wild, his teeth growing sharper, his blue eyes turning red, his claws becoming longer and sharper. His body was, funny enough, becoming sleeker, his tail becoming longer. He looked like a cross between a polar bear and a dire snow wolf.
Dreammon stared in horror at what he was seeing. "W-What is this?!"
Rage Polarmon let out a loud roar, the roar sent all the Tapirmon flying away in fear. "BLIZZARD WIND!"
Rage Polarmon shot out a blast of cold ice that was so condensed and potent that anything within range of it was instantly frozen. Dreammon couldn't dodge, it was too fast. His body was covered in ice. He was still aware of what was going on though. Rage Polarmon came up to him so fast it almost looked like he teleported.
"NOW DIE!" Rage Polarmon roared as his claws turned into sharp, deadly ice. "ICICLE BLADE!"
The blades of ice flew towards Dreammon, penetrating the ice and cutting into Dreammon's body. The attack cut Dreammon into nothing, leaving behind only a few fragments of data and ectoplasm. The data faded away as the ectoplasm turned into nothing but green vapor that faded away as well.
Rage Polarmon turned to Takuya. Takuya managed to open his eyes enough to see something big and scary approaching him, but he was too weak and too cold to move. Rage Polarmon looked down at the boy, letting out a whimper before he let out a howl of sadness.
Takuya felt like passing out, but his Spirits were not letting him, instead trying to keep him awake through their power over fire, channeling it into his body to keep him warm.
Fractal code surrounded Rage Polarmon, and Takuya was surprised to see Tommy standing there, looking down at him. "It's going to be okay, Takuya… I'll take care of you… I promise…"
Takuya wanted to ask how Tommy was there, but he couldn't even get the words to form. He wound up feeling his vision getting darker. The last thing Takuya saw before he finally passed out, was a bright red light coming from Tommy's D-Tector, and the boy's forehead.
Danny flew out of Koji, sighing, he was exhausted. Koji blinked, his eyes weren't glazed over anymore, but when he looked down and saw an injured Koichi in his arms, he was immediately worried and scared for his twin brother.
"Koichi?! What happened?!" Koji asked in worry and fear.
Koichi coughed a bit, and gave Koji a weak smile. "Hey… good to see… you're back, Koji…"
Zoe, who was leaning against JP, and Dash ran over to them.
"Oh good, looks like everyone is awake now…" JP said in relief.
"Yeah, but… Koichi's hurt." Zoe frowned.
"How did this happen, Koichi?" Koji asked as he looked at his injured twin.
"You were…" Koichi hissed a little. "Under the influence… of Dreammon's… Nightmare Syndrome… had to… try to snap… you out of it."
Koji paled as he realized he had attacked his own brother. "Oh no…" He then started crying as he hugged his twin. "I'm so sorry!"
"Koji… it's okay… I've survived worse…" Koichi tried to reassure his twin.
Instead, Koji just hugged his brother tighter. "Yes, but… I could have lost you that time too…"
Danny frowned, seeing how guilty Koji felt about hurting his twin brother. A part of him wondered how Andy felt when he almost died in the ghost portal that day. And now he wondered how Andy felt right now, waiting, wondering what was happening.
Koji looked up, realizing they were missing a member or two of their group. "Wait… where's Takuya? And Tommy?"
"We don't know about Tommy, but Takuya was taken away by a bunch of Tapirmon a while ago." Dash frowned.
Koji frowned, before seeing the good Tapirmon floating nearby, though he didn't know she was on their side.
Koji looked about ready to evolve and attack, but Danny, seeing that, flew in front of Taprimon, dropped his invisibility, and held out a hand. "Wait… She's on our side."
"What the!? Who- what- where did you come from!?" Koji yelped at suddenly seeing the ghost boy. "Wait… didn't I see you in my dream?"
Danny gave a bit of a smirk. "Casper, your friendly dream ghost, at your service~"
"... Seriously?" Zoe deadpanned. "You look nothing like Casper. For one… you're more handsome, and you have hair."
"HANDSOME!? Zoe! He's a ghost!" JP shouted.
Danny chuckled, although he was blushing at being called 'handsome' as well.
"Maybe, but he is the one who woke us up, isn't that right?" Zoe asked.
"Yeah, with Tapirmon's help," Danny answered, gesturing to the Tapirmon.
"S-sorry about that… I was the only one to have escaped Dreammon's hivemind, so I was able to help wake you all up," Tapirmon explained.
"Yeah, if it weren't for her, all of us would've been under Dreammon's Nightmare Syndrome," Danny grinned.
"Hey… you're… you're that ghost boy from Amity Park, aren't you?" Dash asked. "Not that I'm ungrateful, but… what are you doing here in the Digital World?"
Danny gave a nervous grin. "I was called on to help free you guys because… well… Dreammon's Nightmare Syndrome was found to have bits of ectoplasm in it. And being a ghost well… as you can see, it was part of the cure."
"So you and that Tapirmon were what was curing us then," Koji noted.
"Yup." Danny smiled.
"This is all very fascinating, but shouldn't we go find Takuya before something bad happens to him?" Zoe spoke up.
Koji frowned. "We should. I don't want to lose another Legendary Warrior to Dreammon again. But what about Koichi? He's too injured to walk."
"I'll be fine… you need to find Takuya…" Koichi weakly said.
"No, I'm not leaving you by yourself, Koichi!" Koji sternly stated.
Dash had an idea. "Let me carry Koichi. It would be best if we went as a group. Splitting up only made us more vulnerable. And I do have an ability that can heal wounds. It's not super potent, but it should help."
Koji blinked, but nodded. "Okay, just… be careful with him…"
Dash nodded as Koji carefully handed Koichi to Dash. Danny watched in surprise, he had never seen Dash be this gentle with anyone. The Dash he knew would shove someone into a locker, or punch them in the face. This Dash was completely different. He carefully carried Koichi, and he was rubbing some red leaves on Koichi's wounds.
Has being a Legendary Warrior made Dash more mature or something? He was never this gentle before… Danny mused as he watched this whole thing.
"Hmm…" Sorcermon looked up as they were in the Flame Terminal's village.
"What is it, Sorcermon?" Salamon asked.
"The Nightmare Syndromes… I sense they're starting to fade away," Sorcermon noted.
"So… does that mean that Agunimon, Danny, and the others succeeded?" Sam asked hopefully.
Jazz looked happy at Sorcermon's words. "I think they did!"
"That's great. Looks like the Legendary Warriors had saved the Digital World once again," Lopmon said before grumbling. "Of course they did…"
"You don't sound too happy about that," Sam noted, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, don't get me wrong, I am glad they were able to stop Dreammon. It's just…" Lopmon frowned. "I guess I just thought we'd play a bigger role this time… you know?"
Jazz put a hand on Lopmon's head. "Hey we did play an important role. Freeing Agunimon was the biggest role we could do. If we hadn't freed him, then the Warrior of Ice would have been an easy target for Dreammon."
"Although I do understand Lopmon's frustration," Salamon spoke up. "We are the Celestial Digimon after all, it is our duty to protect the Digital World when it's in danger. I can't say I like feeling this helpless. I've always been so helpless, even back then…"
Jazz frowned. "Salamon…"
"I know what you mean, Salamon," Sam spoke up, rubbing her partner's head. "I always feel that way whenever Danny is out fighting ghosts and I can't do much to help him. Of course there are some things I can do, like try to fight some of the ghosts that are close enough to the ground for me to reach, but most of the time they're too high in the air for me, and all I can do is watch."
"Hey guys! I think we gathered enough food for a big feast!" Dorumon called out.
Sorcermon, Jazz, Lopmon, Sam, and Salamon turned to see Andy, Dorumon, Tucker, Terriermon, Agumon, Gabumon, and Biyomon coming back with a bunch of food. There were a lot of fruit, and strangely enough, different colored cabbages for some reason.
"Hopefully this will be enough for the Legendary Warriors when they get back. They'll likely be starving," Andy noted as they put the food down.
"On a side note, are you sure this cabbage tastes like meat, Terriermon? It looks like a normal cabbage to me," Tucker remarked, staring at one of the cabbages.
Terriermon nodded. "Yep! They most certainly do!" He then held one up. "You want to try it?"
"I've never eaten a vegetable in my life!" Tucker whined.
"Well it's a vegetable that tastes like meat," Terriermon remarked. "Go on, at least try a little piece and you'll see what I mean."
Tucker hesitated, but he broke off a small piece of the cabbage he was holding. He sniffed it for a moment. "Well… it does smell like meat…"
Tucker then took a very hesitant taste, and was immediately infatuated. "Oh baby! This tastes like barbecue!"
Sam looked surprised. "Huh? Is that even possible?"
"Of course, anything is possible in the Digital World," Salamon chuckled. "They say that in a way, humans have created both the Ghost Zone and the Digital World with their imagination. I can't say for sure about the Ghost Zone, but that is a fact in the Digital World. It wouldn't exist if not for the world of the living. Vegetables that taste like meat, or fruit like the meat apples that grow in TV Forest, are actually grown and are possible. So even with your own unique diet, Sam, you'd be able to taste the meat without feeling guilty as well. None of them come from animals."
Sam blinked, looking like she was about to explode with happiness. "Are you… KIDDING ME?! This is perfect!"
Sam dived at the cabbages, contrary to popular belief, Sam did used to eat meat when she was younger, and she loved it. She only made the choices she did because she loved animals more than eating them. But this was the perfect balance. She got to eat meat without actually eating meat. And Tucker finally got to eat healthier.
"We should bring some of this stuff back to our world." Tucker smiled.
"That might not be possible, I'm afraid," Sorcermon spoke up. "With your partners, it's a special exception. But with other things from the Digital World, it's normally impossible for them to exist in the real world. They would just turn into data and be absorbed by your world's technology if you bring them out of the Digital World."
"What about the other Digimon that come out into the real world then?" Dorumon asked.
"Their Digi-Core holds their bodies together, but they can't survive in the real world for long. The only reasons why your partners can stay in the real world is due to your link with them, and the D-Arcs you have," Sorcermon explained. "The D-Arcs supply them the data they need to maintain themselves."
Sam looked down at the cabbage in her hand. "What a bummer…"
"On the plus side, it shouldn't be too hard to come back here and get more to eat if we need to," Tucker said, looking at the bright side.
"Of course, you guys are welcomed back here at any time!" Biyomon smiled.
"You did help save the Digital World after all, that takes a lot of courage," Gabumon added.
"Maybe we can also train together next time, to help each other get stronger so we can be of actual help the next time a crisis happens," Agumon said.
"Agumon, don't say things like that." Gabumon frowned.
"Hey, you and I both know it's only a matter of time until disaster will strike again," Agumon pointed out.
Jazz looked back at Gabumon. "Well, if that happens, we will be coming back to help out. I mean, the Legendary Warriors might be strong, yes, but even they may need help from time to time."
"Yeah, I know," Gabumon sighed.
"I can be your eyes in the sky if you need air training," Biyomon chuckled.
Sam sat down next to Andy. "Hey, so… you've been dealing with this longer than any of us had, right?"
"Well, with a Digimon partner and dealing with secrets? Yeah, pretty much," Andy admitted.
"You told us that you had trouble keeping up with Agunimon at the time because Dorumon couldn't digivolve into his Champion form for a while," Sam noted. "What did you do about it though? Salamon can't digivolve either."
"Heh… I know the feeling," Andy chuckled slightly. "Well, if you can't fight back with strength, it's usually best to use your mind. Your mind is your greatest weapon against a stronger opponent. I used to carry a notepad and a pen with me in order to make Dorumon's attacks more variable, and be used in different ways. I haven't had to do it as much recently, but the option is still there in case I need it."
Sam smiled at hearing that. "Heh… I guess that's true. I bet you got the upper hand on Agunimon a couple of times, didn't you?"
"Mostly when I'm able to catch him off guard," Andy chuckled. "If your opponent underestimates you, that's also a great way to give them a surprise attack. And who knows? When Salamon is finally able to digivolve, you might be able to help Danny while in the air as well."
Sam sighed. "Yeah, that would be nice."
"Don't worry too much about it, Sam. We may not have superpowers of our own, but we have our partners helping us out, and we also have human ingenuity. We'll show other Digimon and ghosts not to underestimate humanity. Sometimes I think that's a better way to get our message across than challenging them as a ghost or a Digimon ourselves, you know what I mean?" Andy said before he sighed. "Besides… there could be some consequences for being half ghost or turning into a Digimon yourself…"
Sam blinked in confusion. "Okay, I can understand the half-ghost part, but what do you mean by 'turning into a Digimon yourself'?"
"Ah… it's nothing, just me mumbling to myself," Andy sighed. It's getting harder to remember that the others still don't know that Takuya is Agunimon...
"Are you worried about how Danny being half ghost might affect him in the future?" Sam asked.
"Yeah… the only other person we have to compare to is Vlad, who's had ghost powers for 20 years. He's… not exactly the best example as you could tell," Andy sighed.
Sam frowned. "But Andy, he's the only other halfa we know of. It could be… ible… anny…" Her voice began to fade for Andy.
The world began to fade away from Andy as something else began to appear.
I saw Jazz and Agunimon on some strange green island. They appeared to be handcuffed together, and were running away from something that was shooting missiles at them.
Now I was seeing Mom smiling at me and Danny in our living room, she was holding a piece of paper that had the words 'you're invited' written on it. Mom seemed pretty excited about it.
I then saw my dad looming over a form, a scalpel in hand, a vial of red liquid in the other hand. He was looking quite happy, but in the background behind Dad was Jazz, with a look of horror on her face.
Then I was in a dark looking house, with a humanoid figure clad in black armor that had purple flames burning behind him. He had green pupiless eyes glaring at me, and he held out a glowing green sword. I heard someone yelling my name as the knight swung the sword down at me.
And now I was suddenly on top of a train, staring down at Danny who was in his Phantom form. His eyes were glowing red for some reason, and he was giving me a sinister looking grin, the same one Aldamon gave when he was under Dreammon's control. I heard myself screaming out to Danny.
"-dy? Dorumon?"
Andy blinked when he felt someone touching his shoulder. "Huh?"
"Are you two alright? You suddenly spaced out, and Dorumon's eyes and forehead gem was glowing," Sam asked in concern.
Jazz and Tucker were looking at them as well.
Dorumon blinked for a moment, looking to have come out of a daze himself.
"Yeah… I'm alright… probably had too much on my mind is all," Andy reassured. What was that just now?
"Hey, I'm fine, I don't know why my eyes or gem were glowing," Dorumon spoke up when the others were looking at him.
Jazz blinked. "Andy? Did you zone out or something? You were just staring into the distance."
"Like I said, I probably had too much on my mind," Andy sighed.
Sorcermon was looking at Andy and Dorumon, but didn't say anything.
"Takuya…? Takuya!" A worried familiar voice was calling out to him in the darkness.
Takuya groaned as he stirred before he opened his eyes. "Ow…" He groaned as his side felt like it was on fire.
"Hey!" The voice sounded louder and clearer. "Oh good, you're already waking up. I was worried it would take more than that to heal you."
"Who…?" Takuya sat up, his hand moving to his side which was hurting. He looked over at the speaker.
Takuya saw it was Tommy, who looked to be quite tired, and was sweating despite it being cold in… wherever they were. Tommy gave Takuya a tired smile. "Hey… welcome back, Takuya… you had me worried."
"Tommy?" Takuya was surprised. "Wait… Why are you here? Shouldn't you be back at the Flame Terminal?"
Tommy shook his head. "I came here… I knew you… would need my help… Dreammon is defeated now… we don't have… to worry about… him now."
Takuya blinked. "Huh? H-how? How did we beat Dreammon?!"
"Long story…" Tommy panted. "Short version… I confronted him… fusion evolved… wounded you because… Dreammon used you… as a meat shield… then I destroyed him… and healed you."
Tommy then backed up a bit. "I mean… I got Calumon… who I… uh… found here… to heal you… but he overdid… it with his… Culu Prayer… so… he's… resting now…"
Takuya had heard Tommy's claims, and frowned a bit, but he didn't press the issue. It was clear Tommy was tired and needed his rest, so pushing him for answers would have to wait. "I guess I owe the little guy one then…" Then, the shock of what Tommy mentioned hit him. "Wait… You Fusion Evolved?!" Shock flooded his features.
Tommy gave a tired grin. "Mm-hmm… But… how's your… wound?"
Takuya looked down, lifting up his torn shirt. The gash looked like it wasn't even there, save for a thin line that was barely visible unless one looked really hard. "Looks like it left a scar, but it seems fine otherwise." Takuya replied as he sighed. How am I going to explain that to Andy and the others if they see it?
"That's… good…" Tommy said before he started falling to the floor, passing out from exhaustion.
Takuya grabbed Tommy before he could hit the floor and looked him over for any injury. Seeing there was none, he sighed in relief. Then, a fond smile crossed his face. Heh… Who would have thought Tommy would be able to Fusion Evolve too? He certainly earned it...
"How are you feeling, Koichi? Are you sure you're well enough to be limping along like this?" Koji asked his twin brother for the upteenth time since Koichi began to lean on Koji and Dash for support to walk instead of being carried.
"Yes, I'm fine, Koji." Koichi sighed. "I can walk just fine! There's no need to mother over me!"
Danny tried not to laugh, but he could see Jazz acting like this if she ever saw him or Andy get hurt. Which made him decide it would be in his best interest to not let Jazz watch his ghost fights up close.
"I was able to heal up his more dangerous wounds," Dash spoke up. "He likely just has some scabs and scars right now."
Koichi sighed. "It's not like it's the first time I was in such a bad state." He clearly remembered his accident 4 years ago, and he still had the scar from where he had impacted the hard floor, but it was thankfully hidden by his hair.
"That might explain why Koji's going mother hen on you," Zoe chuckled.
Koji just huffed. "I am not!"
JP grinned. "Actually, you were."
"Can't I just show my brother some concern without being called a mother hen?" Koji grumbled.
"Concern, yes, but you're being a bit too overprotective," Koichi said, rolling his eyes.
Zoe snickered. "Yeah, he's a downright mother hen~"
Koji growled. "I am not a mother hen!"
"You are if you're that worried about your brother." JP teased.
While Koji was getting teased, Danny floated over to Dash. "You know… I've seen you a few times before. You look like a football player from high school, am I right?"
Dash blinked. "Uh… Yeah, why?" He was curious as to why this ghost boy was asking that about him.
Tapirmon was floating over Danny, she seemed to have taken a liking to the ghost boy herself.
"I was just curious about you. You seem so… different on the field. All rough, not afraid to tackle someone, maybe even shout insults at them. But you seem like a different person here, being all gentle with Koichi, even healing his wounds," Danny stated in his own way, hoping he could get at least some kind of answer to his burning questions about the bully's sudden change of heart.
Dash sighed. "Well, let's just say I was on the receiving end of my own behavior towards others once. That, and well… I learned what it was like to help someone after they helped me with that incident."
"Is that so? Did some of your friends help you out when you were on the receiving end?" Danny asked.
"Well… not my old friends, no," Dash admitted. "But… let's just say I made a couple of new friends on that day. And I've appreciated it ever since."
"Hey! I see someone coming out of the throne room!" Zoe called out, getting the boys' attention.
"Is it Dreammon?" JP asked, getting ready for battle.
The others tensed as well, not sure what to expect.
The form that emerged was not Dreammon, but rather Takuya, and he had Tommy slung over his back, the younger boy still passed out. Takuya's shirt was torn on the left side, but he was otherwise alright.
"Takuya!" Everyone shouted in surprise.
"Is that Tommy?" Koji asked in shock.
Danny flew over to his cousin. "Are you alright? And… what's Tommy doing here? And is he alright? Where's Calumon?"
Takuya sighed. "Long story short… Tommy came to help, and fought Dreammon. He gained a new power, but he hurt me in the process, as I was a meat shield, and had Calumon heal me."
"Wait, what? How were you used as a meat shield!?" JP asked.
"What new power did Tommy get?" Zoe questioned.
"What the heck happened to you!? And Tommy?" Koji demanded.
"Okay, how about we all just sit down and rest for a moment?" Danny suggested. "Takuya can explain everything then."
"Dreammon is defeated," Tapirmon spoke up.
"How can you tell?" Koichi asked.
"I don't sense his influence anymore, the Nightmare Syndrome he spread across the Digital World is fading away. And the hivemind hold Dreammon had on the other Tapirmon is wearing off. The Tapirmon are all going back home now, I don't think they even remembered what happened themselves." Tapirmon frowned. "They… might be in for a rude awakening with the other Digimon later though."
JP sighed. "Well, at least it wasn't all their fault. Dreammon controlled them." He then looked back up at Takuya. "And we all really want to know what happened in there."
"I'll see if I can help them out. The rest of my kind don't deserve the treatment they'll likely be getting later," Tapirmon said.
"Yeah, you do that. You can even say the Legendary Warriors have your back." Danny smiled.
Takuya sighed as he sat down, and carefully put Tommy down beside him. "Alright… well… I can't say I know what exactly happened, but I think Dreammon teleported me with his powers. I didn't know at the time, but this strange little polar bear-like Digimon was fighting with Dreammon, and he used his ice claws to slash through my armor."
"Wait, how was this Digimon able to slash through your armor as Aldamon? It would take a lot of power to slash through your Fusion Evolution's armor," Koichi asked.
"That's just it…" Takuya said as he looked up. "I think that was a Fusion Evolution, based on how it was able to slash through my armor." He then looked back at Tommy's form. "As for the power Tommy gained, he mentioned he was able to Fusion Evolve and beat Dreammon."
"Tommy Fusion Evolved?" Koji said in surprise.
"I thought that was something only you and Koji could do," Dash remarked, just as surprised.
"I don't really know when and how Tommy was able to do it… he passed out before he could tell me much," Takuya admitted with a sigh. "As for Calumon… Tommy told me that Calumon healed me, but that took a lot out of the little guy, so he's… kinda not existing right now…?"
Koji blinked. "He's not with us? That's weird, but I guess it makes sense since he did use a lot of energy, from what I hear anyway."
"Yeah… Calumon once told me if he uses his Culu Prayer or Shining Digivolution to its max, he'll have to cease to exist for a while, but he'll come back eventually," Takuya answered.
Koji nodded. "How bad was that gash anyway?"
Takuya sighed. "It was bad enough to the point I was bleeding."
"It was bleeding when you reverted back to human?" JP asked in shock, that had never happened before, to any of them, no matter how badly beaten they were, they wouldn't bleed. At worst, they would have their fractal codes showing.
"I don't know how, it just was. But I guess it's because Tommy's Fusion form was strong enough to penetrate my armor." Takuya admitted. "And he was likely aiming to kill when he was aiming for Dreammon before he used me as a meat shield."
"Do you remember anything that happened after that?" Koichi asked.
"I… remember… the Digimon who was fighting was screaming out my name… and he turned into something… bigger, scarier looking. But I was blacking out at that point, so I couldn't remember what it looked like exactly," Takuya sighed.
JP frowned. "Wow… I wouldn't want to meet this Digimon in the dark if that happened."
"Still, if that was Tommy's fusion, then we're likely to see it at some point, right?" Zoe asked. "I wonder what it looks like…"
"I'm still wondering how the little guy got here… he can't fly, can he?" Dash asked.
"I don't know. I tried to ask, but he only told me he came to help me." Takuya replied. "None of Tommy's evolutions can fly, so that is what makes this all the stranger."
"Maybe this is something we can figure out later when he's awake," Danny spoke up. "For now… maybe we can try to get back to the others? I'm sure they're worried for us."
"Um… these others you speak of… are they friends of yours?" Koichi asked.
"Oh yeah, they are. They're… uh...what we are calling 'Tamers'," Takuya spoke up.
"They're like you guys, but instead of turning into Digimon, they have Digimon partners they help battle with," Danny explained.
"So… do they know about us?" Koichi questioned.
Takuya looked a bit nervous. "Well… two of them do, my twin cousins. They know I can Spirit Evolve. The others… um… they don't know I can do that…" He admitted at last, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
Dash knew Andy and Dorumon, but he didn't know about the others. He only heard about their Digimon partners, but he hadn't taken the time to really talk to them. He sweatdropped. "They… well, I know them, but they don't know I can evolve either, except for the two Takuya mentioned."
"... Those two must have it hard then, being the only other people to know the secret," Koji sweatdropped.
Zoe sweatdropped as well. "Oh boy…"
"So what should we do? I'm a bit too tired to have to keep holding onto my evolution," JP groaned.
Koichi gave it some thought before he got an idea. "Well… can you call the ones who know about you on your D-Tector, Takuya?"
Takuya blinked. "Uh… Yeah, I can. Why? What's on your mind?"
"Could you tell them to tell the others to go back home for the time being? It's already pretty late anyways, and ever since we destroyed Lucemon, time here is in sync with time in the real world now. So they should get some sleep now, it's a school night after all," Koichi suggested.
Takuya nodded. "That's a good idea." He then reached for his D-Tector and pressed the call button. On the screen came the symbol of a pink heart. "Andy?"
"Wait… is this a girl?" Zoe asked, seeing the pink heart.
"Excuse me? Who are you calling a girl?" The clearly male voice asked.
Zoe sweatdropped. "Ah, sorry! It's just… uh… n-nevermind!"
Danny was trying very hard not to laugh. Andy never liked his weird girly symbol, this was just making it more aggravating for him.
Takuya chuckled at that. "Sorry, Andy. That's… one of my fellow Legendary Warriors. You'll have to forgive her. She just assumed you were a girl because of your symbol that shows up."
"Oh wonderful, now I'm being called a girl! Takuya, do you know how to change one's symbol on this thing?" Andy's voice grumbled.
This time Danny did actually start laughing.
"And tell the ghost boy I can hear him laughing!" Andy snapped.
Takuya almost lost it himself, but he kept from laughing. "Sorry, Andy! He will stop, right, Phantom?"
Danny did indeed stop laughing, but he had a silly grin on his face which said he would be teasing Andy about this for a while.
"So who is this guy?" JP asked.
"He's Andy Fenton, a good friend of mine at school," Dash stated proudly.
Danny stared at Dash, almost as if he just declared he was from a parallel universe, which would've been more believable than what just came out of his mouth.
"Yeah, and my cousin." Takuya added before he spoke to his D-Tector again. "Hey, Andy? We have a bit of a problem right now."
"What is it? Sorcermon said he sensed the Nightmare Syndrome fading away. That means you guys won, right?" Andy asked before he suddenly spoke up. "Wait… This isn't some kind of trap is it?"
"Suspicious, huh?" Koichi chuckled, he and Koji had met with Andy before, though they hadn't had time to really get to know the boy. "Well, he is right to be suspicious, he doesn't know what happened after all. For all he knows, Dreammon captured you again in his Nightmare Syndrome and is trying to trick him into luring himself into a trap."
"No, it's no trap." Takuya assured Andy. "It's just that all of us Legendary Warriors are too exhausted to make the journey back right now. None of us can even evolve because we are so low on energy."
"What… oh…" Andy hesitated. "I guess that would be a problem. How are you going to get back here then?"
"That's not the issue right now," Takuya sighed. "It's the others, we can't have them see us as humans."
"You… could just tell them you know. They are as much a part of this as you all are," Andy pointed out.
Takuya sighed. "Right now, that is not an option. None of us want to deal with the interrogations or questions due to how hard we fought."
"We hope we're not asking too much, but could you tell the others to go back home? Let them know the Legendary Warriors have won, and are resting somewhere right now," Koichi suggested.
"Oh… alright. But I'll be waiting for you guys just to make sure you do make it here," Andy stated.
Takuya sighed in relief. "Thanks, Andy."
With that, Takuya and Andy hung up. Takuya gave a small, tired sigh.
"It's a good thing you have a cousin in the know about this," Koji remarked.
"But he did have a point… maybe we should tell the others," Koichi added. "I mean… why are we hiding this from them?"
"It's… complicated." Takuya admitted. "It's just… they aren't ready yet. They know of Digimon, yes, but how would they react to knowing humans can become Digimon?" Takuya sighed. "I don't want them to worry about that right now. We will tell them one day, just not today."
"He does have a point. Having Digimon partners is one thing, but turning into Digimon might weird them out too much." Zoe frowned.
"And besides that, Takuya would have to live with them knowing," JP added. "And Dash."
"It would probably be more awkward for me than it would be for Takuya…" Dash sighed.
No kidding! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that! Danny mentally agreed.
"And let's just say my aunt and uncle are a bit… overly eager… when it comes to anything that looks or appears to be supernatural, which they might think Digimon are." Takuya added with a sweatdrop.
Danny shivered as well, knowing his parents far too well.
"Okay… well, there was another thing Andy brought up that has me concerned," Koji spoke up.
Takuya looked at Koji. "What?"
"How are we going to get back to the Flame Terminal?" Koji asked. "We're really far from that place."
Everyone sweatdropped at that remark.
"I have an idea," Tapirmon spoke up.
Koichi looked back. "What's your idea?"
"Why don't I carry you all back?" Tapirmon suggested.
"Uh… no offense, but you're… really small," JP pointed out.
"Ugh… excuse me," Tapirmon sighed before she flew back into the throne room.
"Huh, wonder what she's planning on doing?" Zoe wondered curiously.
Takuya blinked as he watched as well. "That's a good question."
Then Tapirmon came back. "So I should reiterate. We will carry you back."
Behind Tapirmon were the other Tapirmon that Dreammon had kept under his hivemind. They all had their holy ring back on their arms.
"We heard from Tapirmon that you saved us from Dreammon?" One of the Tapirmon asked.
"The Legendary Warriors, of course! It makes sense that they were the ones to free us!"
"But wait… isn't that one a ghost? Should we trust it?"
"Yes!" The Tapirmon who helped Takuya spoke up. "He's good, he's the one who helped me save the Legendary Warriors from Dreammon and release all of you."
Takuya gave a reassuring smile to the other Tapirmon. "Don't worry, he can be trusted. He was vital in saving us from Dreammon, far more than you might realize."
Danny gave a sheepish wave. "Hey. Yeah, I'm a good ghost."
"Alright. Then I guess if the Legendary Warriors trust you, then we will too." The Tapirmon said.
"You all need a lift?" Another Tapirmon asked.
Takuya nodded. "Yeah, we do. We can't Spirit Evolve because we're too tired from the fight, and well… we need to get back to the Flame Terminal."
"Then we will be your cloud!" The Tapirmon smiled.
Takuya never knew what riding on a cloud would be like until now. All the Tapirmon gathered around, creating a giant cloud for the Legendary Warriors to ride on. Danny could fly with them, but he decided to ride on the cloud of Digimon himself. Danny was giving a big, goofy grin.
"Wow… this is amazing!" Takuya exclaimed. "It's like flying, but without the effort!"
"This reminds me of Dragonball with that fluffy cloud the main character rides." Koichi noted.
"You mean the Flying Nimbus?" Danny asked.
"You watched Dragonball?" Koichi asked, surprised.
"I… may have seen it a few times," Danny answered. Andy is a bit of an anime nut.
Koichi blinked, but chalked it up to Phantom doing so when he was out haunting Amity Park.
"I'll admit, I love flying, but sometimes it's great to just ride on something that flies for you. Riding on a cloud is definitely a great way to do it." Zoe smiled as she was laying on her back, relaxing.
Takuya smiled. "Yeah. It certainly beats an airplane any day!"
"Whatever, it's not that cool," Koji muttered.
"Stop acting all cool, Koji, we know you like this too!" JP spoke up.
"At least we know Dash is having fun." Koichi grinned.
"WHEEEEEE! I'M KING OF THE WORLD!" Dash yelled out as he was standing up, feeling the wind against his face.
Takuya laughed. "Don't fall off, Dash!"
Koichi looked back at his brother, who had a ghost of a smile on his face. "I knew you liked this too~"
"S-shut up!" Koji blushed.
Tommy started to stir, and began to groan a little. Takuya immediately caught it since he had Tommy laying beside him.
Takuya looked back at Tommy. "Tommy?" He asked, hoping the younger boy would wake up. "Hey, Tommy? Can you hear me?"
Tommy slowly opened his eyes. "Why… does it… feel like I'm… on a cloud…?"
"That's because you are," Takuya replied. "You passed out after I woke up."
The others noticed that the youngest member of their group was finally awake.
"Hey, Tommy, it's good to have you back." JP smiled.
"You were starting to have us worried," Zoe said.
Tommy blinked a few times as he sat up on the giant cloud they were on. "Zoe? JP? You guys are…"
"They're not under the Nightmare Syndrome anymore, buddy." Takuya grinned.
Tommy smiled. "I'm glad. For a while there, I was worried we would never bring you guys back."
Koji gave a grunt, but an elbow from his twin made him reconsider his response. "It's good to see you up again, Tommy." Koji sighed with a slight smile.
"So… we were never told about what actually happened," Zoe spoke up. "Now that you're awake, maybe you and Takuya could fill us in?"
Tommy frowned a little. "Oh, well… it's a bit of a long story."
"We've got time," Koichhi said.
Takuya and Tommy began telling the others about what Dreammon was really after; he wanted them, specifically, he wanted them to turn into Susanoomon so he could fuse with them. If it weren't for the fact that they had missed Tommy at the time, they would've been Dreammon's puppet right now.
Koji frowned as he processed this information. "Wow… I guess we were lucky that Tommy was missed. And that these Tamers had to be called in. If not for them, Takuya would have found Tommy and brought him back. It sounds like they played a very important role in this fight."
"You don't know half of it, Koji…" Takuya sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Please don't ever say 'half of it' when I'm around," Danny grumbled.
"So what did happen when you fought with Dreammon?" Koichi asked. "How did you even get there in the first place?"
"That's… not important… I'll just say I had to hitch a ride on some flying Digimon," Tommy sheepishly said. "As for how I fought with Dreammon…"
Tommy told them about his confrontation with Dreammon, and how his two Spirits came together to create Polarmon, and how Takuya, as Aldamon, suddenly appeared in front of him like that. He did mention that Calumon was there too, helping him out in the battle by shielding him from Dreammon's Nightmare Syndrome, and healing Takuya.
Takuya sighed. "Yeah… Getting impaled like that was not fun. But I do owe Calumon a big thanks for healing me, so when I see him next, I will be sure to thank him big time." His hand went to his healed side. Takuya had never been so grateful to Calumon before until now.
Takuya then noticed a blush was appearing on Tommy's face, and Tommy was shyly looking away. Tommy mumbled something under his breath. Danny raised an eyebrow at that.
Looking back out ahead of them, Takuya watched as the clouds moved by, and the ground moved past below them. His mind was wandering now, thinking about what would possibly come next. We won today, but just barely. He thought to himself. But this begs the question… what threats will come next? And can we beat them?
While Tommy was talking to the others, Danny laid down beside Takuya. "Strange kid, I wonder why he said that…"
"Said what?" Takuya asked as he looked back at his ghostly cousin.
"After you said you were grateful to Calumon, Tommy muttered something. 'Well you're like a big brother to me, of course I would heal you, Takuya…'" Danny relayed.
Takuya frowned. "Huh… That's odd… It wasn't Tommy who healed me, but he said that? That's… weird…" He looked down, wondering why Tommy would say that.
"Beats me, unless one of his evolutions happens to be Calumon or something," Danny shrugged.
At that, Takuya's eyes widened. It was such a simple statement, and Danny likely didn't really mean it, but the possibility suddenly struck him.
Wait… Is it possible it's like when I become Flamemon? Does something similar happen to Tommy? Takuya thought. Is it possible?
Takuya thought back on every time he had seen Calumon before. Calumon's voice pretty much matched Tommy's, and Calumon's attitude seemed to remind Takuya of Tommy as well, and how Calumon seemed to know so much about how their Spirits worked. Not to mention he had never seen Calumon and Tommy together, ever.
Takuya looked at the 12 year old boy, wondering if Tommy was Calumon. It would make sense… But if that is the case, then why hasn't he told me, or the others?
Tommy laughed at something JP did, apparently JP decided to do a magic trick with his chocolate bar, but it ended up on his head instead. The younger boy was completely unaware of what was going through Takuya's head right now.
But I don't know for sure… Takuya thought to himself. Should I confront Tommy about it? But if he hadn't told me, he would likely deny it, wouldn't he?
"Hey… something on your mind, cuz?" Danny asked, seeing Takuya was deep in thought.
"Huh? Oh! Just… thinking some things over." Takuya replied. "Nothing too important." Maybe I can figure this out later. It's making my head hurt...
"Yeah, me too. Specifically with Dash… and Andy… and you…" Danny said as he frowned at Takuya.
Takuya sweatdropped.
"Oh don't worry, I'll wait until we meet up with Andy." Danny smirked.
Somehow Danny's evil smirk was just as unnerving as his brother's.
"Um… Yeah…" Takuya neutered. I hope Danny isn't planning anything… Andy already scares me when he is, and he isn't even half ghost!
Andy sighed in relief. It was easy to get Tucker and Sam to go home since their parents would likely worry about them, especially Sam's, but Jazz was a little harder to convince. Lopmon likely understood why Andy wanted her to leave though, knowing who the Legendary Warriors were. Lopmon convinced Jazz that Andy and Dorumon will be fine, and they needed someone to cover for them in case their parents check edon them. Though Jazz was still reluctant, she did eventually gave in and left to go back home with Lopmon, leaving Andy and Dorumon as the only Tamers left in the Digital World.
"I really wish Takuya would just tell them. I'm sick of all this secret keeping," Andy grumbled to Dorumon.
Agumon and Gabumon went back home to Bokomon to turn in for the night, and Biyomon flew back home to her nest as well. The three Rookies were exhausted from today, and knowing the Legendary Warriors were safe, and Dreammon was gone was enough for them to finally collapse in exhautious. Sorcermon was the only one who stayed with Andy and Dorumon.
Dorumon looked at Andy. "We can't force him to tell the others. We need to let him tell them on his own."
"I know, I know," Andy sighed. "It's just… hard sometimes."
"Yeah… I get what you mean," Dorumon sighed. "Sometimes I wish you would tell your parents about me so I wouldn't have to keep hiding as a plush toy In-Training in the house all the time."
"I kind of wonder what things would've been like if Takuya didn't come back to Amity Park… and I never met you… and Danny never told me his secret…" Andy remarked before chuckling. "I can't imagine it would've been anything good… I was already in a dark place after the accident before Takuya came…"
Sorcermon looked over at Andy. "Say, how did your brother get those powers of his anyway? I do not think you ever explained that."
Andy sighed a little as he stared at the campfire they had made earlier to heat up some of the meat apples Tucker actually went out to find and bring back earlier.
"About a few months ago, there was a terrible accident…" Andy started. "My parents are ghost hunters, they also invent things that would hunt ghosts. They had been working on a dimensional rift machine that would create the portal between the real world and the Ghost Zone, which they called the Ghost Portal. They succeeded, but they didn't know they did at first. When they plugged it in, only a few sparks happened, but nothing else did. They went upstairs, thinking they had failed after that… Danny… got a little too curious for his own good. I think Sam might've talked him into it, but I was in my room at the time, putting away a biology book. From what Tucker and Sam told me, Danny went inside the supposedly not-working portal, tripped over a wire and his hand hit on a button that turned out to be the ON switch. The portal turned on with Danny inside it. It electrocuted him, made him scream this terrible… horrible loud scream that still haunts me to this very day… and I guess… the ectoplasm in the portal might've fused with his DNA or messed with his molecules or… even technically killed him but brought him back to life in a way… I don't know what exactly happened to him, neither does Danny himself… I just know that ever since that day… Danny became half ghost."
Sorcermon frowned as he took this in. "Ah. Now I see. From what you have told me, it sounds like he was lucky to survive at all. And it obviously upsets you, if the way you explained it is any indication." He then looked down. "I didn't mean to pry like that, but I was curious."
Andy shook his head. "It's okay… it was also something I needed to get off my chest too. Since I'm being honest, I guess it still scares me. Not just the accident, but what Danny became, what he could become, and… what it's doing to him, and his psyche…"
"You've been worrying about this a lot, haven't you?" Dorumon asked in concern.
"Yeah…" Andy sighed. "I guess I also worry about Takuya as well, but to a lesser extent since he's had his Spirits for a while now, and there are others like him. Others who can be trusted."
Sorcermon frowned as he heard Andy say that. "Yes, the Legendary Warriors do trust one another, just as you should trust Takuya. He has his reasons for not wanting to have your friends and sister know, I'm sure. But he will tell them one day, when he feels ready to."
Andy nodded a little before giving a small smile. "I guess I'm mostly just worried because I care about them so much, and what they are is unknown and unfamiliar territory for me. Humans tend to fear the unknown after all."
Sorcermon nodded. "That is very true. But humans can also overcome that fear through time. You just need to have faith in those you care about, and trust they will come to terms eventually."
"Besides, you have me!" Dorumon spoke up. "Wasn't I an unknown and unfamiliar to you? You were scared of me at the time, but look at us now! You're riding on me like How To Train Your Dragon!"
"What?" Sorcermon asked.
"It's a movie I had Dorumon watch with me," Andy chuckled. "And yes, I'll agree with you on that, Dorumon. But I guess it's just different when it's happening to people I know that wasn't normal for them. Imagine that you were afraid of rodents, but then you got a pet hamster one day. You learn to love that hamster, right? Now let's say you had a loved one who had always been human. But then one day they turn into a giant, fighting hamster. I don't think you'd be so quick to just say 'oh, okay, cool!' with that."
Dorumon nodded. "That's true. I mean, humans don't become giant fighting hamsters, so it makes total sense."
Sorcermon started laughing. "Agreed, I would be very concerned if a human suddenly turned into a giant, fighting hamster right in front of me as well."
"But I know Danny is still Danny, and Takuya is still Takuya… so I guess I'm trying to understand more of what they are, and also for their own sakes," Andy sighed. "One day, they're going to have an emotional issue with what they are, and I'd like to be there for them. The only problem is because I'm not half ghost or can turn into a Digimon, I'm very limited to how much I can help or understand their problem. At least Takuya has friends, Danny… well… let's just say his one and only 'role model' isn't a very good guy."
Sorcermon blinked before he cocked his head to the side. "What do you mean? Are there more like your brother?"
"I don't know… there was one that we met, but he's crazy…" Andy sighed. "I'd… rather not say much about him right now." Especially since he has Seraphimon with him.
Sorcermon nodded. "That is completely understandable. I will not pry, but if you need to talk about this individual to someone, I will be willing to listen."
"Thanks, Sorcermon," Andy said gratefully.
"Yeah, thanks for that. This boy tends to overthink," Dorumon grumbled.
"Heh, I will say, I'm surprised that you're thinking about all this. A boy your age would normally just think about school, homework, parents, and… girls," Sorcermon said, hesitating a bit on that last part.
"Sorcermon? Did you have a special someone?" Dorumon asked.
"N-no! Of course not, I've dedicated all my life to Seraphimon!" Sorcermon quickly said, blushing a little.
"... Is it Kyubimon?" Andy asked.
"N-no! … Who told you that?" Sorcermon hissed.
"That… was just a shot in the dark… I can't believe I was actually right!" Andy started laughing.
Sorcermon buried his face in his hands. "Celestials above… I can't believe I fell for that!"
Suddenly a large cloud hovered over them. The three blinked.
"Did it just get really dark?" Dorumon asked.
The three looked up, seeing the giant cloud.
"Uh… I may not be an expert on how the Digital World works, but… is it normal for a cloud to get that close?" Andy questioned.
Sorcermon frowned. "Not usually, no. Not unless something creates a cloud like that. And only one Digimon species can do that, the one we had issues with because of Dreammon."
"Wait… are those Tapirmon?" Andy asked. "Shouldn't we run?"
Sorcermon narrowed his eyes before he saw the one good Tapirmon coming down. "Wait… I think it may be alright. I see our friendly Tapirmon coming down."
"Hey guys! Heads up!" Tapirmon shouted.
"It's raining people!" Dorumon suddenly screamed.
Indeed, when Andy and Sorcermon looked back up, they saw 8 human kids, or rather 7 human kids and 1 ghost kid, falling from the clouds and coming right at them.
"CRAP! MOVE! MOVE!" Andy yelled as he grabbed Dorumon's arm and pulled him with him.
Sorcermon jumped to the side and landed on one knee to avoid the incoming humans and half ghost.
The kids pretty much crash landed on the ground, with Danny being the only one to land easily on his feet due to his ability to ignore gravity.
"Oh jeez, maybe we should've gotten closer to the ground before pulling away," Tapirmon sweatdropped.
Takuya groaned. "Ugh… Maybe you should have…" The group was in a pretty good dogpile too.
Dash groaned. "Now I'm on the bottom of the pile!"
"Sorry! We aren't used to carrying humans and having them land," Tapirmon apologized.
"Are you all okay?" Danny asked in concern. "I could use my intangibility to help you guys out."
"No… It's okay…" Koichi said as he and Koji slid off the top of the pile, followed by JP and Zoe, and then Tommy and Takuya. "We just aren't used to landing in a pile like that."
"So… you're all the Legendary Warriors I've heard about?" Andy asked when they were released from the pile.
Zoe blinked as she looked at Andy and then back at Takuya. "Is this your cousin?"
Takuya nodded. "Yep. Guys, this is Andy. Andy, I want you to meet Zoe, JP, and Tommy. You already know Koji and Koichi from before."
"Wow… you kinda look like that Phantom boy." Zoe chuckled.
"Oh, really? I haven't noticed." Andy smiled sheepishly.
JP held out a hand. "It's nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too," Andy greeted as he shook JP's hand.
"Hi! I'm Dorumon, Andy's Digimon partner," Dorumon introduced.
Zoe looked at Dorumon. "He looks kinda cute, like a furry dragon-fox almost."
"That's kinda what he is," Andy chuckled.
"By the way… uh… what's an X-Antibody?" JP asked. "Sorry, when we see a Digimon for the first time, we usually hear the Spirits in our head telling us about them. They said something about Dorumon carrying an X-Antibody."
Andy blinked before he looked at Dorumon. "I… don't know, it's the first time I'm hearing about it."
Dorumon looked at Andy before shrugging. "I just think it's something that's a vaccine for some kind of powerful virus. Most of the information on it was lost to me in my reincarnation though."
Takuya then remembered that as well. "I remember my Spirits telling me the same thing when I first saw Dorumon."
"The X-Antibody… that was something lost in the legends of time. Before Lucemon, before the war between human and beast type Digimon, there used to be another Digital World ruled by an entity called King Drasil, or Yggdrasil as some called him. He used a virus… an X-Virus I believe it was called, to try to wipe out the Digital World clean, start over. Some Digimon were gaining something called an X-Antibody to become immune to the virus though, and it changes the Digimon, making them look different from their original counterpart, and some say even made them stronger. Some Digimon are natural carriers to the X-Antibody. I believe Dorumon here is one of them," Sorcermon explained. "But I thought the X-Antibody was lost in time after the human and beast type Digimon went to war with each other."
"It seems like it may have been, but it might have been brought back for some reason." Koji guessed.
"You don't think this X-Virus thing is coming back, do you?" Andy frowned.
"I doubt it, maybe Dorumon is just special?" Tommy suggested. "Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a Dorumon before."
"None of us have before, Tommy." JP pointed out.
Takuya grinned. "Well, when Dorumon hatched from an egg, he wound up latching onto Andy's face!"
"TAKUYA! THAT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU SHARE WITH PEOPLE!" Andy snapped.
"Oooh? Tell us more~" Zoe grinned.
"I liked kissing Andy's face. What's wrong with that?" Dorumon pouted.
Andy decided that maybe living under a rock for the rest of his life may not be so bad. Or maybe he could plan something to get back at Takuya for this later, that sounded better.
Takuya chuckled. "Sorry, Andy, but it was just too funny to not bring up."
"You're not sorry, but you will be," Andy stated.
Takuya felt his face pale at hearing that. Me and my big mouth...
"Alright, enough with the teasing, why don't you eat? Andy and his friends spent hours gathering food for all of you to help regain your strength," Sorcermon offered, showing them all the food they gathered.
At this, all the Legendary Warrior's stomachs let out a loud growl, and started drooling. Andy was relieved, this made them too distracted to make fun of him.
The Legendary Warriors grabbed their food and immediately went to work. They were eating like ravenous wild animals, or more accurately, they were eating like very hungry anime protagonists. Andy and Dorumon watched in fascination as they were horking down all that food. They were eating way more food than it looked like their stomachs could handle, yet they were still eating like they were starving. Andy really wished he could take notes, but he didn't want to seem weird in front of them. Danny was eating too, almost as much and ravenous as they were. Which made Andy wonder if ghosts needed to eat like the living and Digimon did.
Dorumon blinked as he looked at Andy. "Why are you fascinated by this?"
"Well, I don't know how it works for you Digimon, but humans normally can't eat that much food," Andy answered. "Heck, even my Dad, who's a glutton, can't eat half the amount of what they're eating."
Dorumon chuckled. "I think it's because they can Spirit Evolve. Evolution takes a lot of energy, so we Digimon need to eat more, and it appears to work the same way for humans, or rather, those who hold the Spirits of the Legendary Warriors. It's more because the Spirits take up their energy from their human forms to use in combat. Or so I am assuming anyway."
"I guess it also means it makes their metabolism work on hyper duty…" Andy grumbled. "Considering they're not gaining any noticeable weight from everything they're eating."
There was an abnormal giant sized turkey that they had brought from a restaurant. It wasn't a real turkey, it was something the restaurant made from a machine, which was just as tasty as a real cooked turkey. The turkey was gone in seconds, leaving nothing but bones.
"I swear, I would lose a finger, or all of them, if I tried to stick my hand in there…" Andy gulped.
Dorumon snickered. "Better not try it, Andy~ Good thing I already ate though."
Andy wondered if Takuya and Danny would eat like this if they stayed in their more powerful, non-human forms for longer periods of time. They wouldn't have enough food in the kitchen, even if they were fully stocked, which was always to the brim with Jack Fenton being the glutton. Note to self, start grocery shopping and keep a separate refrigerator somewhere...
Dorumon looked back at Andy. "Something on your mind, Andy?"
"I'm going to have to save up for an extra fridge…" Andy sighed. "There goes next year's allowance… wait… I don't get an allowance… there goes my next year of freedom to get part time jobs…"
Dorumon snickered. "Time to get out the resume~"
Andy looked at Dorumon before flicking him on the nose. "Hey, if I have to work in the hot sun to mow someone's lawn, you're coming with me. And no eating the lawn mower."
Dorumon pouted. "Aww…"
By the time all the kids were done eating, there was nothing left. Andy, Tucker, Jazz, and Sam had brought back enough food to feed an army or two, and it was all gone, devoured by 8 kids who weren't even in their 20s yet. Andy wasn't sure if he should be fascinated or terrified by this. He was both in a way.
"And I thought Scooby and Shaggy would eat us out of house and home…" Andy muttered.
Dorumon snickered again. "Well, now you know who can actually do that~"
"Don't make me flick your nose again," Andy grumbled.
Dorumon only stuck out his tongue in a cheeky manner.
"Man, I can't remember the last time we ate so much," Takuya said, rubbing his full belly.
"I know, it feels good," JP said with a burp.
Zoe sighed. "That was good. I certainly needed that. I almost forgot how much energy Spirit Evolving takes from us."
"I can't even believe I could eat that much and not get much weight from it," Dash remarked, having never eaten that much before.
"I'm surprised I ate as much as you guys did," Danny said.
Takuya gave a look to Danny, who was still in his ghostly form. "It might be because you're a ghost."
"Wouldn't that mean he wouldn't need to eat?" JP asked.
Takuya sighed. "Phantom is a… unique ghost. That's all I'm going to say."
"I feel so much better after eating as well. I think my Spirits needed the energy to help heal the rest of my wound," Koichi sighed in relief.
Koji looked down, feeling bad about what he had done to his twin brother. "Yeah… And that was my fault…"
"Stop blaming yourself, Koji, you were under Dreammon's control. I don't blame you for it, and you shouldn't either," Koichi stated firmly.
Koji sighed. "I know, Koichi. It will take some time, but I will get over it."
"At least it's over now," Tommy spoke up. "Though I guess we should keep a lookout in case something else happens. With the barrier between this world, the real world, and the Ghost Zone's weakening, there's bound to be more trouble again soon."
"Yeah…" Takuya agreed, he had seen a lot of trouble going on in Amity Park, and the Digital World lately to know that was very true, but he just wanted to relax after what they went through today. "Oh… hey, Andy, sorry we forgot to leave you some. Were you hungry?"
"No, I'm not. Watching you all made me bloated," Andy admitted. "Besides, I already ate before you guys got here."
Takuya chuckled sheepishly. "Ehehe… Sorry, but you know how Spirit Evolving works with the aftermath… We get really, really, hungry…"
"Yeah, I know," Andy said.
"Heheh, you should've seen the expression on Andy's face when he was-" Dorumon's mouth was suddenly shut by Andy's hands.
"I think they've heard enough about me tonight," Andy grumbled. "We should all get back home anyways. It's really late for us who live in America. Oh, speaking of which, you all came from Japan, didn't you?"
JP nodded. "We did. Well, Zoe, Tommy and I did. Koichi and Koji are still in America, but they came as well. They're there because of rogue Digimon that are getting through the barrier."
"Oh yeah, I know about Koji and Koichi's current location," Andy said. "But I meant the rest of you. So that leads to my next question… how are you all able to speak fluent English?"
"What are you talking about? We're all speaking in Japanese, in fact, how are you speaking fluent Japanese?" JP questioned back.
"What? I don't even know Japanese!" Andy raised his arms and waved them. "Though that would be cool… I'd be able to watch anime without the subtitles…"
Dorumon's eyes widened. "Wait! I think I know what is going on!" He then looked at Andy. "Remember how Lopmon translated that wolf-ghost's words?"
"Yeah? But Lopmon is a Digimon, I don't see how that would work for them, they're humans… I mean they're humans right now," Andy pointed out.
"It's their Spirits! The Spirits were once ancient Digimon, and well, the Spirits are made up of that data. They use those Spirits to evolve and become Digimon. The evolutions affected their fractal code and I believe that the evolutions may have given them some traits like understanding all languages because of the data that merged into their coding." Dorumon explained. "At least… That is what I think is happening anyway…"
"Wait… so are you saying we can understand any language now?" Zoe asked, surprised to hear this.
"Maybe? I mean, I'm speaking English right now, and it sounds like you're all speaking English to me," Andy explained. "Yet according to JP, I'm speaking in Japanese for you."
"Maybe it's not about understanding the language, but the language is being translated for you, as well as vice versa to us," Danny guessed.
Takuya nodded. "Actually, that makes sense. I mean, we are technically Digimon because we can Spirit Evolve, so that explains it."
"Wow, you learn something new every day," Koichi chuckled. "Though Koji, Takuya, and I can speak fluent English."
"We kinda thought we had to before transferring to an American school," Koji mumbled.
"Interesting… I can't believe I never discovered this myself…" Tommy muttered. "This will speed up my plans then…"
"What plans?" Zoe asked.
"Oh… uh… nothing you should worry about," Tommy chuckled sheepishly.
Takuya sighed. "I think we should get back home now. I'm tired and we all need some rest."
"Yeah, it's been a tiring day for all of us," Zoe agreed.
"We'll be seeing you again soon, won't we?" JP asked. "We do actually miss you back in Japan, Takuya. It'd be nice if we could all meet up here in the Digital World on better terms then because of an emergency."
Takuya laughed. "Yeah, that would be nice."
"Yeah, maybe we could plan out a picnic or something on a weekend!" Tommy smiled.
"Would you mind if we joined?" Dorumon asked.
"Dorumon, don't invite yourself!" Andy hissed.
Dorumon pouted. "Awww…"
Takuya chuckled at that. "Who can blame him though, right?"
"We don't mind if you guys come along, it'd be a great time to get to know you more." Koichi smiled. "You should also bring your own twin brother as well."
"Wait, Andy has a twin brother too?" Zoe asked, surprised.
Takuya gave a sheepish grin. "Uh… I kinda forgot to mention Andy has a twin too. His name is Danny, and he looks like Andy save for the eyes. Andy has green eyes, Danny has blue eyes."
"Surely we have a little more difference than that…" Andy mumbled.
"Yeah, for example, Danny has a slightly different jawline, and his nose is a little lower than Andy's," Danny added.
"... And how would you know that?" Dash asked.
"I… just do," Danny hesitantly said.
Takuya came to Danny's rescue quickly. "Phantom here has fought alongside me and Andy before, as well as seen Danny a few times, so that is how he knows."
Tommy looked at Danny, then at Andy. "Are you sure you two aren't related? You do kind of look alike, save for the white hair and all."
"Nope! I'm a ghost, he's a human!" Danny said quickly. "No relation at all!"
Andy grumbled to himself. You are such a horrible liar. You might as well put neon signs on us that says 'we're actually twins!' How the crap had nobody noticed you're actually Danny Fenton by now!?
Tommy raised an eyebrow, though he was only more suspicious.
"Anyways!" Andy spoke up before Danny could dig themselves in a deeper hole. "We should go now. It was nice meeting with all of you."
As the group split off into going their separate ways, things seemed to be much calmer now, like nothing could go wrong this time.
Andy, Dorumon, Danny, and Takuya used their D-Arc and D-Tector, Danny having to stay near them, to get back to their home in Fenton Works. Dash went somewhere else to get to his own house.
When they were back in Danny and Andy's room, after having crashed again. Jazz ran into their room when she heard the crash.
"Are you all alright?" Jazz asked in concern. "Takuya? You found Takuya? … I actually forgot he was in the Digital World!"
Takuya groaned. "Ugh… Yes, I'm fine, Jazz…" He managed to get off of Andy, Dorimon, and Danny.
Danny groaned again. "Why do I end up on the bottom after every crash landing through that thing…?"
"Because you have a sturdier body than the rest of us?" Andy asked.
Dorimon just giggled as he rolled off the pile.
"We're all okay Jazz," Danny assured after they got off of the pile. "But we're dead tired."
Andy slapped Danny upside the head. "Poor choice of words there right now, bro."
Danny pouted. "Hey! I'm half ghost! What do you expect me to say?"
"You and Takuya just love bad puns, I swear…" Andy grumbled.
"My puns aren't bad! They're hot!" Takuya protested.
"Don't make me slap you upside the head too," Andy remarked.
Takuya grumbled under his breath.
Jazz rolled her eyes. "Yeah, it's been a rough day… let's all get some sleep, we can discuss this in the morning."
Takuya yawned. "Yeah… My body aches all over from that adventure!"
Jazz looked at Takuya for a moment, before she left the room. Something in Jazz's eyes made Takuya a little uneasy. It made Takuya wonder how much she knows or is suspicious of.
"So…" Danny spoke up, who was glad to be human again. "When were you two going to tell me you were friends with DASH FREAKING BAXTER!?"
Takuya flinched at that. "Oh… We forgot to mention it…"
Andy gulped as well while Dorumon gave a sheepish grin.
"Uh… well…" Andy hesitated. "It all started when we saw Dash talking to Bertrand…"
The next day at school, during lunch, Takuya was staring at the newspaper that showed Danny Phantom 'kidnapping' the mayor. Though it said "Ghost Boy, Public Enemy #1? More on this story to be seen."
"I LEAVE FOR A FEW DAYS AND YOU BECOME PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE!?" Takuya shouted.
"Keep your voice down! We're in public, you know!" Danny hissed.
Takuya sighed as he ran a hand over his face. "Ugh… I can't believe this… I thought you would be more careful than this!"
"It's not his fault. Walker carefully planned for this to happen," Sam defended.
"We found out a little too late to stop it, but we did have people question whether or not the mayor was overshadowed, and if the ghost kid was really the bad guy here," Andy explained.
Takuya frowned. He remembered that ghost sheriff well, since he, Dash, Andy, and Dorumon had gone to find Danny in the Ghost Zone before some back. "This Walker, he is white with green eyes and looks like a warden for a prison?" He asked before covering his tracks. "Because Danny and Andy told me about him after they got back from the Ghost Zone at one point."
"Yeah, that's him," Tucker confirmed. "He came back after being exploded and wasn't too happy."
Takuya sighed. I should have figured. Ghosts can regenerate, which means I was lucky I wasn't here at the time. "Well, at least you were able to do some damage control and prevent Danny from being seen as Public Enemy Number One by everyone."
"Yeah, let's just hope that works out in our favor in the future," Andy sighed.
"We did find out interesting things we could do that we didn't know before," Terriermon said. "Like being used to go into computers."
"It was really cool." Dorimon grinned. "You should try it some time~"
Takuya gave a look at Dorimon. "I'm a human. I can't go into a computer." But is it possible I could in my Digimon form? Err… Maybe I shouldn't try it… Takuya thought. His Spirits seemed to agree with him.
"I wonder… do you think Danny could go into computers?" Tucker asked. "Technus could, and he wasn't a Digimon."
"But Technus has technology powers," Danny pointed out.
"He was still a ghost," Sam reminded. "Meaning you have as much of a chance as he does to go into a computer."
Danny sighed. "If I can, I will admit, that would be cool, but I haven't tried it, and I don't want to."
"Never know until you try it," Terriermon remarked.
Takuya looked at the newspaper again. "Well, anyway, at least Danny isn't seen as a full enemy, so that's some good news." He set the paper down. "But man! That Walker sure planned for everything! Imagine if he was a threat! It's not hard to see if he could succeed in doing some real harm. We will have to keep an eye out for him if he returns."
"Yeah, he had a way to turn this town into a horror movie…" Andy shivered. "You weren't here for it, but Walker and his goons were overshadowing a lot of people, and it was creepy as heck."
Takuya shivered at that. "I'm glad I missed it then…" Walker could have made me out to be an enemy too!
"For now, let us just relax and be glad everything worked out the best they could for the time being. You never know when you'll be called into action again," Salamon stated.
Everyone could agree with that. It has been a few rough days lately.
Takuya set the paper aside. "I feel like I could sleep for a week after that adventure!"
"Uh… you wouldn't actually sleep for a week, would you?" Andy asked in concern.
"No, what makes you think I even could?" Takuya asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Considering how much you could eat… I wouldn't put it past you at this point." Andy rolled his eyes.
Sam and Tucker looked confused, but figured it to be because the cousins were teasing each other.
Takuya laughed sheepishly. "Hehe… I guess that's a viable reason for saying that..."
Dorimon was trying his hardest not to laugh at the comment.
"So are you still going to help people even though the town thinks you may be a bad ghost?" Sam asked Danny as they were eating their lunch.
Danny nodded. "I am. I can't just sit back and do nothing. It wouldn't be right, and well, my parents aren't exactly the best ghost hunters, so that's another reason why too…"
"Besides, knowing Danny, he can't ignore a cry for help," Andy remarked as he began to drink his juice.
"HELP!" Someone shouted, which made Andy do a spit take right in Takuya's face.
"ACK! ANDY!" Takuya exclaimed as he wiped the juice off his face. "What was that for?!"
Andy coughed a bit. "S-sorry!"
The others turned to see who cried for help. It was Mr. Lancer who was running away from Jack and Maddie, who were chasing him down with their weapons.
"You've been overshadowed! Let us help you by blasting the ghost out of you!" Jack shouted.
"How many times do I have to tell you people!? I'm not overshadowed!" Mr. Lancer shouted back.
Takuya looked at Andy. "Even Mr. Lancer was overshadowed? That is one meticulous ghost sheriff."
"Yeah," Andy sighed. "I guess Mom and Dad's scanner picked up remnants of that ghost inside Mr. Lancer."
"I guess I can ignore that call for help," Danny chuckled. "Their inventions don't hurt humans after all."
Takuya sighed as he bopped Danny on the head gently. "Of course, they don't."
The others laughed a bit, happy to just have some time to relax and be teenagers instead of heroes for a while. At least, Andy hoped it would be for a while. If what he saw were indeed visions of the future, then they were in for a rough ride soon.
