Chapter 3: Tensions Rise
"What do you mean you won't?! You have to go after him!" yelled Sally to the Freedom Fighters. "He didn't do it!" said Tails. "But you don't know that!" argued Sally. "We're not repeating the same mistake when he was accused of killing you during the Endgame affair!" said Rotor. "But Amy said Sonic will be happy when I'm out of the way!" said Sally. "But that's just Amy being a loud mouthed brat!" said Bunnie. "She probably thinks that Sonic will be happy! She expects Sonic to react happily to everything she does!" said Tails. "Tails is right. She's nothing but a lovesick fool," said Antoine.
"But those two must pay for that attempt on my life! And you are gonna do nothing?!" asked Sally. "Sally girl, there's obviously something wrong with you. I mean, have you looked in the mirror lately. Your face . . . ," said Bunnie. "I'm fine!" said Sally. "No you're not! You haven't been ever since you broke Sonic's heart!" yelled Tails. "Sally, we quit!" said Rotor. "We're going to continue the fight against Eggman without you!" said Antoine. "You can't do this to me!" said Sally. "Can and will," said Tails. And the four then left Sally to stew in her anger. Sally growled angrily as the gold veins further spread on her face. "What is wrong with everybody lately?! Fine! I don't need you traitors! I don't need anybody!" yelled Sally.
Later, Sally began thinking of who else she could hire to take down Sonic. Just then, she got an idea. "I know what. I'll call upon him to take him down. He's probably the only one who can stand toe to toe with him," said Sally.
Meanwhile, a lone figure stood in the forest. His name was Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik. He was a mobian black hedgehog with red stripes on his quills, around the edges of his eyes and on his arms and legs. He had red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, and his muzzle was tan. He had six quills on his head, four of which curved upwards, and two that curved downwards, had two spines on his back and a small tail. For attire, Shadow wore white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues, and Rocket-skates which, like his gloves, had black cuffs and red tongues. On each of his wrists and ankles he wears a single Inhibitor Ring. His eyes were currently closed as he was in deep thought.
But then, he opened his eyes when he heard footsteps approaching. Shadow turned around and saw that it was one of the king's soldiers. "S-s-shadow," said the soldier nervously. "What do you want?" asked Shadow. "The princess demands that you come see her at Castle Acorn," said the soldier. "Hmph. Very well," said Shadow. Shadow then used Chaos Control to teleport all the way to Castle Acorn.
Shadow teleported outside of Castle Acorn and the guards led him to Sally's room, where Sally was waiting. "Shadow, you're here. Good," said Sally. "What's so important that you want to see me?" asked Shadow. "The unthinkable has happened. Sonic has turned against me and the kingdom," said Sally. "For what reasons?" asked Shadow, raising an eyebrow. "You see, I wanted him to step down from doing anymore missions with the Freedom Fighters. But when he refused, I put him under house arrest. But not long afterwards, he sent Amy to assassinate me to get rid of the house arrest order. He and Amy have escaped. The Freedom Fighters have refused to go after the two criminals. So, I decided that you're the only one who can take them down," said Sally. "What's the catch?" asked Shadow. "No catch. Just get those two off the streets and I'll be able to sleep soundly. Bring them in alive," said Sally. "Hmph. Very well. I'll do it," said Shadow. He then left to find the two hedgehogs.
Sorry for the wait. Things are staring to get tense as the Freedom Fighters refuse to hunt down their friend, Sonic. So instead, Sally decides to hire Shadow to find and take down Sonic and Amy. Next chapter, Amy will be confronted by Shadow . . .
