Chapter 6

Well, well, well, look who finally decided to reappear.

I do not own Naruto!

Onwards.

Third Person!

Beth's body trembled as Onyxcia stared at the knife in horror. Pein watched her expectantly, waiting for some sort of explanation as to why they were there, why they were cats, and where they even were.

Pein himself had no desire to hurt the girls, as the sick girl had already talked to him and agreed to give them a place to stay. He simply wanted to know if these two knew anything more, and threats were the best way to get these answers.

"W-well," the brunette stuttered, still looking at the knife, "you're Pein, the leader of the Akatsuki, and I really don't know why you're here. You're not even supposed to be from this universe."

"Look," Onyxcia piped up, knowing Beth was panicking. "My name is Onyxcia, Nyx for short, and this is Elizabeth, or Beth. We don't exactly know very much about what's going on. All I really know is that I found you guys on the side of the road and decided to keep you because you were homeless," she admitted. "I actually had no clue who you were."

"I thought you said you got those fucking kittens from your uncle," a raspy voice spoke up. Onyxcia tensed, realizing what she had said. Zoe had woken up, and when she turned to look at her, she was sitting up with a damp facecloth held onto her forehead.

"Zoe!" Beth gasped out, whipping around to look at the shorter woman. "You're okay. I thought you passed out, or that you were really sick," she said with concern.

"I was," She growled, opening her eyes to glare at Onyxcia. "Where did these kittens come from, Nyx?"

"Listen, they were homeless! I couldn't leave them to die! What if nobody had found them and they-"

"What if they had diseases? Or, if they were dangerous?" Zoe's voice scoffed as she sat up in her bed. "Thank you, for not harming them."

"Of course," Pein nodded to the pale girl. "A deal is a deal, and I don't intend to make enemies somewhere I am unfamiliar with."

Zoe's POV

I let out a shaky breath before swinging my legs over the side of the bed and proceeding to stand up. "Could we let the girls out of their ropes by chance?" I breathed out to Pein from the door. Watching him carefully as he ripped the ropes with ease, I let out a breath of relief before turning on my heel and walking out of my room.

As soon as I had left the door, I heard loud voices from downstairs. I walked down the stairs and faced the remaining eight members of the organization and stopped in my tracks at the bottom of the stairs. Glancing around the room of ninja, I attempted to take it all in.

"What the fuck do you mean Kakuzu?" Hidan's voice shrieked as he threw his hands in the air for emphasis. I realized that Itachi, Sasori, and Kakuzu had noticed me, but the others were watching Hidan.

"Don't you listen, yeah?" Deidara's agitated voice countered. "You're such a pissoff."

"Tobi thinks Senpai is right," Tobi nodded, acting as if his opinion would be listened to.

"Leader wouldn't kill someone he knows nothing about," Kakuzu's dark voice grumbled, his eyes finally drifting from mine and back to the Jashinist.

"Why the fuck not?" He sighed loudly.

"Probably," I interviened, gaining his attention, "because I may be the only way you guys get to stay safe in this place. My name is Zoe, by the way. Although, you guys probably gathered that from your time as kittens."

"I'm sure we can fucking manage on our own," Hidan scoffed. He was the only one being a loudmouth, which honestly didn't shock me much.

"You are all to follow by Zoe's rules," Pein's voice cut in from behind me as he, Onyxcia and Beth emerged from the staircase. "She will be our caretaker until we find a way home. Understood?"

"Yes, Pein-sama." Coursed through the room. The ginger man nodded his head in approval before looking back to me again.

"So," I said, turning back to him, "I assume you and Konan will need your own private room for your leader duties?" He nodded and I smiled at the blue haired woman I could see at the top of the stairs. "We have 5 bedrooms all together in the house and one pull out couch," I explained, turning to Beth. "Could you start making the beds for me?"

She nodded quickly and rushed back up the stairs, probably nervous from all of the people who were also, coincidentally, murderers.

"I will help," I heard a calm voice say. Turning back, I saw Itachi stand up with a slight smile as he walked up the stairs quietly. A smile spread across my lips at his helpfulness.

"There is a bedroom at the end of the right hall," I said, turning back to Pein again. "You and Konan can have that one. There are two beds in that room."

He dipped his head at me before turning to Tobi and Zetsu, "You two will also stay with us."

The three men walked up the stairs after the order and they retreated into the right hallway to go check out their room.

"So," I started, breaking the silence that had come over the room quickly. "I suppose you're all hungry. You're lucky Onyxcia went grocery shopping a few days ago."

I walked into the kitchen quickly, leaving Onyxcia with the room of ninja as I began to prepare food for everyone. Hidan walked into the room soon after.

"Oi," He called from where he sat at the kitchen table. I turned, cocking an eyebrow at him, "could you fucking get me a drink or something?"

Sighing, I walked to the cabinet, grabbing a large glass and placing it on the counter. "Do you like pop?"

His face furrowed up in confusion as he heard the word and I took that as my answer, quickly pouring the fizzy drink into his cup and placing it beside him. I watched as he picked up the glass and took an uncertain gulp before his violet eyes lit up.

"This is fucking good!" he exclaimed, gulping it down. I gawked at it when he hit the glass back down on the table and looked at me expectantly.

"You're not a cat anymore, Hidan," Kisame's voice smoothly said from behind us. I turned to the door to see him walk over to the fridge and then to the cabinet where I had previously grabbed a glass. "The kid's not our maid, at least get off of your ass to get your own drink."

He grinned at me when I flipped a burger, a loud sizzle sounding from it. "Thank you, Kisame," I smiled, walking back over to the table with the bottle. I placed it in front of the silver haired man, "I'm really not bothered though. I can grab his drink if I'm up."

"If you insist," he grinned, taking a seat at the table as well.

"Fuck you, fish stick!" Hidan exclaimed, pointing at him. "I'm not acting like the bitch is our maid at all!"

"'The bitch'," I mused, snorting as I turned back to them. Kisame's grin never faded.

He scoffed while I plated the two ninja's food, placing it in front of them quickly after. The grinned at the sight of the burgers, each of them thanking me quickly for the food before I walked back into the living room.

"Supper's done," I smiled, looking at the remaining ninja, Onyxcia and Beth. Deidara shot to his feet, acting like a starving animal and rushed past me as he shouted his thanks from the kitchen.

All of the remaining people excused themselves from the room one after another, all remembering to thank me of course, until it was only two of us left.

"I assume you're also feeling hungry?" I asked, turning to the redheaded male still lounging on the couch. He hummed in response, lifting himself up and turned towards me.

"Thank you for your hospitality," He murmured, his mouth showing a small uncharacteristic smile. I nodded, a smile spread across my lips. He walked past me quietly, making his way to the kitchen before I stopped him.

"How does it feel?" I wondered out loud. He paused, his hand still lying gently on the swinging door that led to our kitchen. I glanced back at him, noting the confusion that was on his face. "To be a puppet," I clarified. I glanced at the skin on his arm, "And then to be human again. Are you feeling sick, at all? I don't suppose feeling nothing one day, then feeling everything again the next is easy."

"Thank you for your concern, girl," He muttered, seemingly upset with my question. "I believe I'll manage."

I watched as his body disappeared into the kitchen, leaving me alone in the living room with a small smile spread across my lips.

Emotionless, huh?

As it turned out, in our absence Onyxcia had taken it upon herself to set up the sleeping arrangements. There were 5 bedrooms in the house in total, one of them already reserved for the leaders, Zetsu and Tobi. That left the spare room, Onyxcia's room, Beth's room, and my room.

"So," Onyxcia grinned from her place at the large table. "Itachi and Kisame will be roomed with me, seeing how I have 2 beds. Hidan and Kakuzu will get the spare room, Deidara will be with Beth and Sasori will be with Zoe."

"We have at least 5 air mattresses," Beth chimed in. "So you guys wont have to share beds if you don't want to."

"Thank Jashin!" Hidan exclaimed. "I don't wanna fucking sleep in the same bed as that old bastard."

As soon as the words escaped his lips Kakuzu's hand flew away from his arm, pinning Hidan against the wall. All three of us girls gawked at the sight, everyone else seemingly unbothered. "Shut your mouth, Hidan," Kakuzu growled from underneath his mask. "You're starting to piss me off."

Hidan opened his mouth to retort before Pein sighed, causing him to pause. The ginger pinched the bridge of his nose as Kakuzu's hand reattached itself.

"Hidan, refrain from being obnoxious. Kakuzu, please don't use such physical attacks. We don't need to destroy everything in our caretakers home." He ordered. I smirked at the way everyone listened to him, and nodded my thanks to him.

Everyone finished with their food soon after, the dishes piling up into the sink. I let out a small sigh, relaxing in the silence that followed with everyone retreating into their bedrooms and began grabbing the dishes, switching them from the sink into the dishwasher.

"What is that?" A voice mused from behind me. I turned around to see Sasori looking curiously at the dishwasher as I filled it.

"A dishwasher, it's automatic. Does everything for you," I hummed, placing the last plate into the machine. "Didn't Beth show you where my room was? You can go get some sleep."

"I don't know how to set up the air mattress," He admitted, watching as I hit start on the machine.

"Ah," I said, turning to face him again. "Well, lets go get that set up then."
