Zoe's breath hitched as he yanked on her hair once again, throwing her to the side. His foot pressed down onto her stomach and he stared at Onyxcia, his eyebrow cocked. "I told you to take a seat, Nyx," He hummed.
"None of you make any moves," Pein ordered, looking around at all of the Akatsuki. "We are defenceless and will be taken out immediately. Do not give up our identities."
"Hai," Everyone chorused, everyone still on edge as they watched from underneath of the table.
Her eyes widened as she stumbled towards the chair, sitting down. She stared across the table at Beth who was silent, her head hung down as she cried silently. "Beth, it's gonna be okay," She whispered assuringly to the girl.
She glanced to the side, watching Jeremy kneel beside Zoe. His attention was focused on the other girl as Onyxcia looked all around the room. The tea laid on the ground in front of the swinging door, still in its grocery bag, shards of glass surrounding it.
Zoe's eyes were locked on the picture that laid on the ground, avoiding all eye contact with the large man, causing him to grow impatient.
"Zo," He grumbled, rolling his eyes. "Come on, you know I hate it when you do this."
"She's definitely hurt," Kakuzu hissed from his place underneath the table. His eyes narrowed, "She isn't even making an effort to move."
"How unlucky could they have gotten? It's kind of hard to believe." Zetsu said as his eyes trailed around the room. "Of course we're kittens right now."
"We need to help her," Sasori snapped, glaring at the large man who hunched over his girlfriend. "He's going to hurt her even more, and she's scared."
"She is," Konan agreed sadly as she watched the young girl shake. Her eyes narrowed, "Pein-sama, we need to change back. I cannot watch this girl get tortured."
Zoe lurched backwards as Jeremy's hand reached down to her, screaming loudly as she hit her head against the cabinet door. She snapped her head upwards and scrambled backwards until her back rested against the wall.
"Jeremy, stop!" Onyxcia cried, staring in shock.
"I'm just walking towards her," He snarled at the blonde. "Now shut the fuck up and listen to me-"
"No!" Onyxcia screamed at him, her eyes wide. "She's terrified of you, Jeremy! You are scaring her, do you understand me?"
"Onyxcia, do not aggravate him!" Itachi exclaimed, not thinking about her inability to understand him.
Beth seemed to have agreed with Itachi, however, her leg swinging under the table past the kittens heads and hitting her leg hard.
"She has no reason to be scared of me," Jeremy whispered to himself, staring down to his hands. "She's got nothin' to be scared of," He mumbled.
"Tobi-san doesn't like this guy," Tobi said slowly. He twitched slightly, if anyone kills these girls, it should be me.
Zoe's breath hitched as he turned on his heel and walked out of the door, swinging it shut behind him. She watched with wide, scared eyes, tears dripping from them as she began to shake.
"What the fuck is happening to her?" Hidan demanded, looking around at the kittens. "This ain't the same tough bitch I know!"
"Onyxcia was correct," Pein spoke up, cutting off all of the side mumblings as everyone looked for any way to turn themselves back to humans. "Zoe seems to be in shock and is absolutely terrified. This man isn't to be taken lightly in our current forms, seeing that we could all be taken out in a slight of hand," He frowned at his own words, looking down to his useless, tiny paws. "I do not want us to fall to such an idiotic cause. However," He trailed off, looking up to meet Onyxcia's red eyes. "She will come up with a plan. We follow her course of action."
"Leader-Sama," Kisame interjected. "How are you so sure she'll come up with something?"
"Have you spent any time with her?" Kakuzu sighed in annoyance. "She may be a pest, but she is smart and resourceful. She will think of something."
"What do I do, what do I do, what do I do," Onyxcia repeated to herself, her foot tapping the floor anxiously. Her eyes darted around the room from one thing to another, her thoughts jumbled.
"Tea," Beth mumbled, scuffing her feet against the floor.
Deidara looked up to the brunette with a satisfied nod, "Beth is also smart as hell, yeah."
"Doesn't take a fucking genius to remember the tea," Hidan huffed in annoyance.
"I did not expect her to speak," Itachi admitted quietly, earning a glare from the blonde. He sighed, "Don't take everything I say so offensively, Deidara, I simply thought she was in shock."
"What?" Onyxcia demanded, her head snapping over to look at her friend. Beth was pale and had tears running down her face that hung low, a frown planted on it grimly.
"That bastard isn't going to be gone long. He'll probably be back in a few minutes," Zetsu said. "I heard the front door open and close, but nothing else. The fucker doesn't seem like the type to come and just toss the chick around for fun, though. He wants her."
"I'll go out into the hallway and keep watch," Kisame volunteered, darting towards the door, bouncing up and over the shattered glass. He used all of his force to push against the swinging door, striding into the hallway. "I'll rip your ankles to shreds," He sneered angrily towards the door where Jeremy had disappeared, planting himself down in the middle of the hallway.
"Tea," Beth repeated to Onyxcia, raising her head slightly to meet eye contact with her friend, "The cats need tea."
Onyxcia's eyes widened, nodding. "Oh my God, how did I forget?" She demanded to herself, springing to her feet. She stumbled over to the counter quickly, yanking the cupboard open. She grabbed a mug and placed it on the counter quickly, flicking the tea kettle on and turned on her heel to face the plastic bag surrounded in glass by the door.
Looking down to her bare feet, she cringed. She could go get a pair of shoes from the hallway, but then she would run the risk of Jeremy finding her and knocking her out, eliminating all plausible plans. She didn't have the time to waste.
The glass wasn't an issue before since she had a clear path around it, but since Jeremy ran out of the room he had scattered it all around the bag.
She turned her head slightly to the left, seeing Zoe's form laying on the ground shaking and swallowed, stepping into the glass. Anything for a friend, she repeated in her thoughts as she swiped the bag up in her hands, ignoring the excruciating pain that wiped through her feet. She gritted her teeth, stumbling towards the kettle, stepping on her toes to lessen the pressure on the pads of her feet.
"Holy shit, un," Deidara gawked as he watched her lift her bloody feet up.
When she made it to the counter, she swung her legs up and planted her butt on the counter, letting out a loud breath she didn't realize she had been holding.
She listened to the kettle boil, tapping her fingers quickly before hearing a loud cat meow. Her head darted up from her place on the counter, eyes widening as all of the cats started meowing at her.
"He's fucking back inside!" Hidan meowed to her loudly, racing over to the counter.
"She can't move now," Kakuzu snapped to his partner. "Don't panic her into moving- She'll push the glass in further."
"Fuck!" Hidan cried out in frustration, his tiny head snapping towards the door as it flew open.
Jeremy stumbled in angrily, growing to himself, "Damn cat! Fucking bites my leg then runs away. When I find it, I'll kill it," He mumbled to himself before his eyes trailed up to meet Onyxcia. His face flushed red in anger, "Why the hell are you out of your seat?"
"Zoe needed tea," Beth suddenly blurted, gaining everyone's attention. "I would've gotten it for her, since I'm less of a threat to you," She murmured, raising her head slightly to look at the giant man. She swallowed her fear to speak up once again, "Onyxcia isn't tied up and I am, so I asked her to get Zoe a tea to calm her nerves." She bit her lip, "Zoe needs to calm down, Jer. She hasn't stopped shaking."
He gulped, looking towards Onyxcia with anger still evident on his face. "It's gonna help Zo?"
She nodded quickly, jumping slightly as the tea kettle clicked. Her small hand wrapped around the handle, shaking slightly. She poured the water straight into the cup, placing the kettle back on the counter. She breathed in deeply before preparing herself to tip the cup, freezing as Jeremy lunged towards her.
"I-I wanna give it to her," He snapped, his hands wrapping around the hot cup. "She needs to stop bein' so damn scared of me. If I can calm her down, she'll trust me," He assured the blonde, his face scrunched up at her in disgust as she went to protest. "Your feet are hurt anyway."
"Okay," Beth interjected, cutting Onyxcia off from what was likely to be an obnoxious comment. "Bring Zo the tea, Jeremy. It'll help her."
Sasori padded over next to his girlfriend, pressing his small body against her in an attempt to comfort her, but her eyes remained locked on Jeremy. She was frozen in her place, too scared to move or talk.
Jeremy walked slowly towards the girl, Sasori noticing how much she tensed. "What did he do to her to make her this scared?" He wondered as his eyes trailed up to her face. He rubbed his soft fur against her hand that was limp on the ground, scaring her momentarily before her hand pet him slowly.
"Everyone get ready," Pein meowed loudly gaining everyone's attention. "We will have to get Zoe upstairs and to a safe place. We are not to kill this man," He paused, listening to his organizations scattered protests, "Do as much harm without killing him as you may. Do not disappoint me."
"Fucking bastard is gonna get what he deserves," Hidan hissed, growling at the large man as he walked towards Zoe. "I'll teach his ass not to touch our bitches."
"Hey," Jeremy said slowly, kneeling in front of Zoe. She wrapped her hand tightly around Sasori, squeezing him and forcing him to wiggle out of her grip. "Don't be scared," He whispered, looking into her eyes. "I'm here to help, gonna give ya some tea. It calms you down right?"
She shook in her spot, slowly nodding her head. "M-milk," She stammered, returning his gaze. "Can you bring me milk?"
He nodded quickly, slamming back up to his feet as he placed the hot glass on the floor next to her thigh. He raced over to the fridge, ripping it open to grab the dairy.
"Help me," Zoe begged, her bruised hand wrapping around the tea cup as she looked at all of the Akatsuki. She jerked her hand to the side, soaking all of them in the hot beverage. She stared into Sasori's small eyes as he morphed back into human, ignoring Jeremy's angry, shocked yells. "Please, help me."
First Person!
What happened?
My head pounded as two strong arms wrapped around me. I heard the angry screams and crashes, but I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes to see it.
"You're gonna be okay, Zoe, we're going to help you."
How can you help me?
"She has a few broken ribs, and she's got a nasty cut on her thigh."
It hurts. Can you fix it?
My head was laid back on a pillow, hands gently lowering me. I felt my fuzzy comforter underneath of my right hand.
You're going to stain my comforter. Don't do this here.
"What do we do, Kakuzu? Do you even know what she can handle? She isn't a ninja like us, I don't want to kill her."
"We have to do something. If this girl dies because of me, at least we'll have tried. Hold her legs down so I can sew her thigh shut. Zetsu, check her for other injuries."
My head hurts too. Did I hit it?
"She has a head laceration. Konan, can you come help me?"
Yes. It hurts.
"This is going to sting, she's probably going to pass out from the pain because I have no sedatives. I want to stop this bleeding as soon as I can."
That sounds like it'll hurt more. Am I going to die?
"Get her something to bite on. Zoe, can you hear me?"
Yes.
"She isn't responding, do you think she's conscious?"
I am. Please get me something to bite on, I can't open my eyes.
"I do not know. I need to stitch her leg now, I can't wait any longer."
Move your fingers, move your fingers, move your fingers.
"Wait, her fingers just moved! Zoe, can you do that again?"
I think so.
"She is conscious, someone get her something to bite on."
"I'm on it bastard!"
I felt my jaw get opened slightly before a piece of fabric was placed in my mouth.
"Hidan, did you kill him?"
"Bite down bitch, it's gonna be okay. Leader-Sama was serious about not killing the fucker, so we let the puppet bitch do what he wanted to him."
Oh, thank Jashin. Just wait for me to bite down...
Seconds later, pain burned up my leg, screams rumbling out of my lips before my body tingled, my vision going black.
Third Person!
Beth bit her lip, watching sadly as Itachi carefully pulled the shards of glass out of Onyxcia's foot. She let out a huff of air, tearing her gaze away to face Deidara who watched her carefully.
"It's not your fault, un," Deidara said to her as soon as their eyes met. "You know that, right, yeah?"
"I-I just wish," She paused as her voice cracked, wincing, "That I could've done something, y'know?"
He stared at her, watching as she attempted to look anywhere but at him, "Beth, you did do something, yeah. The other girls were out of it," He assured her, pulling her against his chest. "You helped everyone today, un."
Her eyes widened, a blush spreading across her cheeks quickly. "I didn't do that much," She insisted, shaking her head.
"I disagree, un," Deidara said blatantly, still holding her to his chest. "You really helped her, yeah."
A loud scream ripped everyone from their thoughts, Onyxcia attempting to jump from the counter to run up to her friend. Itachi hooked and arm around her waist, hoisting her back up onto her place.
"Onyxcia, you cannot move," Itachi frowned, holding her squirming body down with ease. "You still have glass in your foot. Konan, Kakuzu and Zetsu will take care of her, let me take care of you."
She growled underneath her breath, looking to her boyfriend's eyes sadly, "She is crying Itachi, can't you hear that?"
"I believe she is unconscious," Itachi admitted, pushing her butt back onto the counter further. He released one hand and continued pulling the glass out of her foot. "Once I am finished taking the glass out, I'll bring you up to see her."
Onyxcia nodded, silence coming between them immediately. She turned towards the sliding door where she saw Pein restraining Sasori in the backyard, Kisame picking Jeremy's limp body up. She could tell that Sasori was furious, but he had gotten his shots in at the man. "Thank you, Itachi," She whispered gently.
"Zoe is going to be okay," Itachi nodded, "I wish you would worry more about yourself."
A small giggle tumbled from her lips before she could think to stop herself.
Tobi sat in his room, facing the window in a desk chair. He frowned, fingers tapping against the windowsill over and over again. He watched as Pein intimidated Sasori, forcing him to back down.
When had his organization turned so… soft?
He had created this idiotic group from nothing, turning nothing into everything. Why did this happen?
"How could three useless, weak, stupid girls turn us into this?" His low voice spat, smashing his hand down onto the windowsill, effectively cracking it. Huffing, he kicked off of the wall and rolled into the middle of the room.
His one visible red eye flashed, a small chuckle escaping his lips.
Who was he kidding? He now had these girls at his fingertips, and they didn't even know. They could be used against this stupid organization whenever he wanted.
If need be, he would kill them.
