THE RAIN & THE SUN

Note: Thanks to everyone who are favoriting &/or following. I'm going to start responding to reviews on here. Sorry if I misspell your names.

Ladyloveschat: Thanks! Hope you're happy with Lila ends in this chapter!
ShazDogg: Right?! Looking up ages in French school is also confusing. One place said collège is about 11-15. Doesn't really matter in my story I guess though. It's just important to note it's their last year of collège. Hope you're enjoying the story.

Calerose: I love the friendship between them too. I hope it grows in season four. Same! Honestly I love writing Adrien being in love with her. Oh nice, I need to watch the Marvel movies. I've been meaning to for months, so you know… I'll get to it any time now.

Turtlefan15: Here's one chapter more for you! Hope you like it.

ALSO: Sorry I don't know who's class their in right before lunch. Or how many classes. Just gonna say sevenish. Since the two main teachers teach three each plus PE. Doesn't really matter. Sorry if this is wrong. Takes too much effort to search ALL the episodes looking for where they are before lunch. Anyway, enjoy!

The Rain & the Sun

Chapter 5: The End of Lie-la

Thursday morning, Adrien wakes up but doesn't get out of bed. Yesterday had been a disaster. He closes his eyes at the memory.

Marinette is holding up his black umbrella, the one he gave her long ago.

"It's not raining," Adrien points out.

Some reason that's easier to say than admitting he wants her to keep it.

"I know but I thought I'd return it."

She continues to hold it up, but Adrien is hesitant to take it back.

"Why?"

"Well it is your umbrella. I uh found it and thought I should return it to the rightful owner."

"You can have it," Adrien insists. "I have many."

"Please, take it. It's time I let it go."

Physically, Adrien doesn't react, but inside he feels as if he's been burned. She really is moving on. He grabs the umbrella, feeling electricity as their hands briefly touch. With a smile, Marinette lets go.

Adrien's eyes open like he's been startled. Afterwards wasn't much better. Keeping his promise, he visited her as Cat Noir. He wishes he hadn't. The way she smiled acting carefree, the way she hummed as she solved the problems, and total lack of regret from moving on. Cat Noir just stood uncomfortably, having to pretend he didn't know anything. He rubs his eyes with a groan. The noise interrupts Plagg's meal.

"What are you being so moody about?" Plagg inquires.

"I'm not being moody, I'm just thinking," Adrien corrects.

"About, let me guess, a certain girl with pigtails," Plagg deadpans.

"I can't get her out of my mind! She's just so…" Adrien gets lost in dreamland.

Plagg nearly gags. Why is his human so sappy? Adrien's demeanor changes from fantasy to frustrated. Plagg hangs his head knowing he'll regret asking.

"What are you so down about now?"

"I need to think of something to do for Marinette."

"Again? I thought that's what visiting her as Cat Noir is for."

"Some. I enjoy her company. Besides, I have to do more."

"Aren't you the one that said friendship isn't about owing each other?"

"That's when she wanted to do something for me! It's my turn to give her something."

"So then, what are you going to do for her?"

Adrien slumps.

"I don't know."

Plagg goes back to eating his cheese.

Meanwhile, Marinette is sound asleep. As she often is at this time of the morning. The kwamis watch her sleep. She looks peaceful, not like she's been up all night for the last few weeks. Part of her charm is her stubbornness to sacrifice her needs, like sleep, to help others.

"Do we have to wake her?" Mullo ponders.

"She can't skip school. That's un-lady-like," Pollen protests.

"Marinette is hardly punctual though," Ziggy points out.

"A few more minutes couldn't hurt," Longg agrees.

Tikki rises from her place on Marinette's bed and rubs her eyes.

"Why are you guys so loud?" Tikki asks sleepily.

"We were jusst debating letting our Master sssleep or not," Sass answers.

Tikki's eyes widen as she glances at the clock and the numbers sink in. She rushes over to Marinette and starts shaking her.

"Marinette! Wake up, you'll be late for school!" Tikki panics.

Marinette sits up in bed before nearly falling down to the floor. She jumps up and changes. If she doesn't sprint to school, she'll be late. Again. One glance at the kwamis and she knows she will already. Some notice her dilemma.

"Just go, we can get our own food," Wayzz insists.

"No, I can do it," Marinette declines.

"We're capable of doing it. You mustn't be late," Kalkki argues.

Marinette sighs giving in.

"Fine, Longg, Wayzz, and Sass you're on food duty. Be quiet, don't get caught, and don't make a mess," Marinette instructs.

"Why do they get to have all the fun?" Xuppu complains.

"Because they're responsible and don't go crazy when given freedom," Marinette replies.

Xuppu folds his arms and grumbles.

"I only did that once," Xuppu pouts.

"Twice," Marinette corrects.

Some of the kwamis giggle. Marinette winks to them before grabbing her stuff. Making a mad dash through the apartment and bakery, Marinette continues her way across the street. She hears the first bell ring as she's climbing the steps. It's possible to be on time if she keeps up the pace. In the middle of the staircase, she nearly collides with Lila.

"Watch where you're going. You could have seriously hurt me again," Lila gibes.

"You've never seriously been hurt Lila," Marinette glares.

"Guess I wouldn't have to lie this time."

"If you're done can you move? We do have class. Unless that is, you have a fake note to see a made-up doctor about a disease you don't have."

Lila steps closer to Marinette in a threatening manner.

"You think you're so clever? Well you're not. You're an idiot. I told you to pick my theme idea, but you didn't listen. You never stay out of my way."

"Your idea wasn't good enough, get over it and move aside."

Marinette is not in the mood to play around.

"And I told you there would be consequences. If you don't do what I say from now on, it'll only take one phone call and your parents' bakery will be shut down due to breaking health code."

"My parents' bakery is clean. You can't lie about that."

"Maybe but you really think anyone will want to eat there after they hear the bakery was visited by Raphael Mauter?"

"The most prestige health inspector in Paris?" Marinette scoffs. "You can't lie to me Lila. I know you're not as connected as you say."

"Actually, this isn't a lie. He's an old friend of my mom," Lila proves by showing a picture of Lila, her mom, and Raphael.

Marinette's eyes widen. The one thing she doesn't lie about has to be this.

"What do you want?" Marinette asks, clearly annoyed and tired of Lila's antics.

"One, don't tell anyone about this. Second, stop trying to expose me. I mean, not that anyone has believed you anyway. Third, if I ever ask for anything, do it without hesitation. No matter what it is."

Marinette's jaw tightens. Just a rumor about Raphael Mauter visiting a business is bad enough. As much as she despises Lila, there's nothing she can do. At least at the moment. Slowly, Marinette nods in agreement. Lila smirks before knocking the folders in Marinette's arms down. Some papers fly down the staircase.

"You better pick those up. I'd help, but I don't want to be late to class."

With a flip in her hair, Lila walks up the stairs and into the classroom just as the late bell rings. After a deep breath, Marinette bends down and starts to pick up the fallen materials.

In class, Adrien glances out the door. Marinette is just late right? He hopes she isn't skipping school today, or that she's sick. He needs to talk to her. Though, nothing comes to mind about how to help her. There has to be something and maybe asking would be the easiest. As Ms. Bustier is just finishing roll, Marinette enters the room. Downcast and a million miles away. He doesn't think he's ever seen her walk in before either. Usually the door is slammed open and many students jump. She whispers a quick apology before taking her seat. Her cheery expression absent. At the bell, everyone gets ready to leave.

"Marinette, could you please see me for a moment?" Ms. Bustier requests.

Everyone stops to stare at her before making their way out. Adrien lingers at the door to hear what's going on.

"Marinette, you've been so good at being on time lately. What happened this morning?"

"Sorry Ms. Bustier, I-I don't have a good excuse."

"Next year you'll be in lycée. They have stricter rules about tardiness."

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just been… hectic. I'm working on it."

Ms. Bustier sighs.

"You only have a week left of school. I hope you learn how to be on time during the summer," Ms. Bustier dismisses.

Marinette nearly collides again with a person. This time it's Adrien as she's exiting the classroom.

"I'm sorry! W-Were you just eavesdropping?" Marinette accuses.

"Of course not!" Adrien lies. "I was just waiting for you."

Marinette relaxes.

"Sorry, I've just been having a rough day. More like a rough week… or year," Marinette apologizes.

The two of them head to the locker room.

"Oh? Anything I can do to help?" Adrien offers.

Marinette bites her lip and thinks about it. Honestly, there really isn't anything he can do. Adrien notices Marinette biting her lip, a habit he's come to notice she does out of nerves.

"No, I don't there is."

"You sure? Nothing at all?"

"I-I'm sure. I'm… fine."

It's obvious she's lying, which Adrien notices for once, but he decides to drop the subject for now. Forcing her isn't going to help. Before the two of them can walk into the locker room, Kagami appears behind them.

"Adrien," Kagami calls. "Can I talk to you?"

Adrien nods and turns to Marinette.

"See you in class."

His hand briefly touches her shoulder before he walks over to Kagami. They walk away from the locker room. Walking into the locker room, all eyes move to Marinette. She's confused by the scene before her. Lila is sitting on a bench, crying, with many classmates and other students surrounding her. Alya has a comforting hand on her.

"What's going on?" Marinette inquires.

Several students glare at her. Marinette is taken back.

"She told us what you did," Sabrina replies angry.

"What are you talking about?" Marinette asks confused.

"You threatened Lila. She was worried about you always being late. And when she asked if there was anything you she could do to help, you yelled at her to "stay out of it" before hurting her," Alya explains.

Alya gestures to a mark on her arm, one Marinette didn't notice earlier.

"Don't lie, we heard her crying during class. She walked into class shortly before you did," Nathanael adds.

Mouth open, Marinette is perplexed and thrown off by the whole thing. One look at Lila though makes the whole thing clear. This is another lie. One at her expense. After their deal, Marinette can't call Lila out. Not that she has any proof either.

"I-I…" Marinette fumbles.

What the heck do you even say to that? Alya scoffs.

"So uncool dude," Nino folds her arms.

"We should tell the principal," Kim suggests.

"No, I don't want Mr. Damocles involved. He has enough work to do already. Besides, I don't feel comfortable going in if Marinette will be there," Lila lies.

It takes every ounce of restraint to not protest.

"You sure?" Alya comforts.

"I'll be fine as long as you're all supporting me. We just need to get through one more week anyway," Lila reassures.

She stands and wipes her eyes with a sniffle. The crowd acts as a shield as they walk out of the locker room. Marinette stands there trying not to cry. Tikki pokes her head out.

"Are you okay?" Tikki questions.

Marinette bites her lip and nods.

"We better get to class," Marinette changes the subject.

The rest of the morning goes by slowly for Marinette. Every time she glances at a student in class or in the halls, they glare and say rude comments. The last class before lunch, Ms. Mendeleiev makes an announcement.

"Students, don't forget that next Friday is the dance. The committee could use lots of hands, so please feel free to help. They're meeting tomorrow after school. If you have any questions, ask our class representative Marinette," Ms. Mendeleiev relays.

Some of the students glare at Marinette.

"Like we would help her," Ivan grumbles.

Most of the students agree. Ms. Mendeleiev doesn't hear any of that though. She's turned around and starts erasing the board. Marinette sinks low into her seat. The bell finally rings for lunch. Alya quickly gathers her things and dashes out the door. Marinette is hot on her heels. The class and surrounding students watch the encounter.

"Alya! Alya! Wait up!" Marinette pleads.

Alya stops, fists clenched. Her jaw is set. She turns around with a scowl.

"What?" Alya almost shouts.

"Please, just listen to me, I–"

"I don't want to hear your excuses. I should have known. You're always late and making up excuses. What are you up to?"

Marinette stutters, no good answer comes to mind.

"I have responsibilities. I've been designing and helping my parents in the bakery," Marinette finally replies.

"Lies! You've been like this the whole year. And Lila notices. She only wants to help, and you hurt her? Not only that, you've been accusing her of being a liar."

"Alya, please don't do this to me. You're one of my best friends."

"And you were mine. Until I found out what a liar and bully you are," Alya sighs, deep down sad that it's come to this. "I think I speak for everyone when I say we can't be your friend anymore. Sorry, but you brought this upon yourself."

As Marinette stands frozen in shock, Alya and the others make their way to lunch. Her lip trembles. Without another thought, Marinette dashes to the bathroom. Adrien hears most of the conversation, but he's confused about what happened. He feels like he's missing something. Why is everyone so mad at Marinette? At the restroom door, Adrien can hear Marinette sobbing and what sounds like her talking to someone else.

"We can't go in the girls' restroom," Plagg screeches.

"Marinette is my friend. We can't let her suffer like this," Adrien determines.

"Fine, just do me a favor and don't tell Marinette she's 'just a friend'," Plagg submits.

Adrien groans at the statement. It's going to haunt him forever. Opening the door slightly, he notices her talking stops.

"Marinette?" Adrien calls. "Are you in here?"

He cringes at his wording. Of course she is. If the sniffling isn't enough, the fact he saw her come here should be.

"Yeah," Marinette responds weakly.

Adrien walks all the way in. The door closes but he hasn't moved any further in. After waiting and she makes no move to come out, Adrien tries approaching.

"What's going on? Why is everyone so angry with you?" Adrien questions concerned.

He stands outside the stall she's in. Marinette bites her lip.

"I can't tell you."

"Please? You're my fr–… you're important to me. I hate that you're so sad. Let me help."

Tikki nods at Marinette. Taking a deep breath, Marinette wipes her eyes before opening the door. Her head is hanging down, clearly uncomfortable. Adrien waits patiently.

"You can't say anything to anyone. I don't want my parents getting hurt," Marinette insists.

"Why? What does your parents have to do with this?"

Marinette hesitates. If Lila finds out she told Adrien any of this, she'll call that health inspector.

"Lila. She threatened me before school. She knows Raphael Mauter, a famous health inspector. He's only known to visit the worst of the worst establishments. If he goes to my parents' bakery, they'll be forced to shut down," Marinette starts. "I have to do whatever she says. In the locker room today, she told everyone I'm a liar who threatened and physically hurt her. Just now, I think… all my friends left me."

A tear falls down Marinette's cheek. Adrien places a hand on her shoulder. It forces Marinette to look him in the eye. She's never seen Adrien so angry before.

"We have to stop her," Adrien declares firmly.

"How?" Marinette wonders.

"We expose her as the real liar," Adrien plans.

"You told me not to. Humiliating her will just make her hurt more."

"That was before. She won't get away with this. We're going to show everyone that Lila can't be trusted."

"How do we prove she's a liar though?"

Adrien stops to think.

"We expose her lies. I mean, it can't be that hard can it?"

"Yes! We can interview some people that will back us up. Like her mom. I'm sure we could get a lot of information from her."

"And Jagged Stone. She's told a few lies about him. You can contact him right?"

"Yeah, but I'm not sure he'll help. I mean he's a rock star, why would he do this?"

"You've designed an album cover for him, a poster, and glasses. He filmed a show at your bakery. He really likes you, I'm sure he'll love to help."

"Okay, who else? She's told some lies about Prince Ali, but I don't think we can contact him."

"Chloe has his number. I can ask her," Adrien suggests.

"Anyone else?"

"Ladybug and Cat Noir."

That takes Marinette by surprise.

"How will I ask them for help?"

"I'm sure we can find a way."

"You're right. I'm sure we can."

Both awkwardly stare at each other. Ah dramatic irony.

"I bet I could find some others but those are some good ones," Marinette nods. "But what about my parents' bakery? If I do this, Lila will call that health inspector for sure."

"We'll be exposing Lila, no one will believe her after that. Your parents will be safe, promise," Adrien ensures.

Marinette nods and gives Adrien a small smile.

"Thanks Adrien. This means a lot."

"Of course, glad to help," Adrien returns the smile. "We could do this after school today. That way we can get the footage together and show everyone tomorrow."

"Seems ambitious but I know we can do it," Marinette states before changing subjects with a mischievous smile. "So… what did Kagami want?"

Adrien laughs lightly.

"She wanted to make sure the two of us are still friends."

The two stay in the bathroom, sitting on the ground and talk for the rest of the lunch period. May sound gross, but the floors are clean and it's a safe way to avoid everyone else. Neither notice the dark butterfly leave.

The two survive the rest of the day. Though people continue to be mean to Marinette, Adrien makes sure to stand up for her when needed and support her. Once the final bell rings, Adrien and Marinette walk down the front steps, planning to head to the bakery when they're stopped. Nathalie stands next to his car.

"Nathalie, you're up," Adrien blinks surprised. "Are you feeling better?"

"Yes, ready to get back to work," Nathalie monotones.

"I don't need a ride. Marinette and I have to work on something," Adrien tells her.

"Your father instructs you come home right after school. Especially since you didn't come home for lunch. Not to mention you didn't ask ahead of time for permission," Nathalie argues.

"This is really important. I have to help," Adrien pushes.

"I'm sorry Adrien, it's out of my hands," Nathalie opens the door.

Before Adrien can protest any further, Marinette places a hand on him.

"It's okay Adrien. Go home. I don't want you to get in trouble," Marinette insists.

"But what about our project?" Adrien inquires.

"I'll do what I can," Marinette assures.

Adrien nods and climbs into the car. It hurts to watch Marinette as they drive away. The time she really needs him and his father demands his presence at home. His father always has the worst timing. It's all for nothing too. Adrien is led to his room by Nathalie.

"Your father would like you to study for next week's exams, your piano, and Chinese," Nathalie relays.

"Fine," Adrien replies through his teeth.

"Adrien, you know better than to misbehave," Gabriel interrupts.

Both turn to him just a few feet away. Adrien does his best not to lash out.

"You dragged me home to study? I had somewhere important to be," Adrien discloses.

"And where is that?" Gabriel asks.

"Helping Marinette."

"Ms. Dupain-Cheng? I have mixed feelings about her," Gabriel admits.

"Marinette, why?"

"I've heard she's a bad influence on you."

Adrien is shocked by the news.

"I don't know who you heard that from but they're wrong. Marinette is the kindest, most self-sacrificing person I've ever met. She's an amazing designer, one that impressed you. She's always there when I need her. She found a video of mother, you even saw that. So, you can keep me locked in my room for no good reason, but don't you dare speak ill of Marinette," Adrien fumes.

He shuts his door before his father or Nathalie can say anything. With a sigh, he leans his head against the door. His father will probably reprimand him for that later. He can't seem to care at the moment.

"Wow," Plagg zips out. "That was intense."

"I'm just so upset over this Lila thing. I can't believe she would stoop this low."

"Me neither. I knew she was awful but this is just monstrous," Plagg agrees and finds some cheese. "So, how can you help now?"

"Adrien can't but Cat Noir can."

"Uh oh."

"We'll leave after I send a text to Chloe."

"Oh good. I get to finish my cheese for once."

Yeah, like Plagg doesn't ever get enough cheese.

In her room, Marinette checks on the kwamis before making a plan. Things will be harder now that Adrien isn't here to help. She isn't even sure some people will be willing to contribute.

"Just call him," Tikki demands.

"What if he can't or doesn't want to help," Marinette worries.

"Call him or I will!" Roaar threatens.

Marinette dials the number. It rings twice before a woman answers.

"Penny Rolling."

"Hi Penny, it's Marinette. I was wondering if, uh well if Jagged could do a quick interview for me. I know it's a strange request and I'm sure he's really busy, but it's important."

"One moment please."

Penny puts Marinette on hold, likely to check his schedule and maybe even get Jagged's opinion on the matter. Marinette bites her lip in anticipation.

"Has she always been so nervous?" Barkk questions.

"Biting her lip is not a good habit," Kalkki adds.

Marinette is taken off on-hold.

"Marinette, Jagged would love to do an interview for you. Can you be at the Le Grand Paris in twenty minutes?"

"Yes, thank you!"

"See you then."

Penny hangs up. Marinette squeals.

"What are you so excited about?"

The sudden voice of her cat makes her jump. Looking around, she's thankful the kwamis always seem to know when to hide. She turns, hands on her hips, and scolds her knight.

"You have to stop scaring me!"

Cat's face lights up with the Cheshire smile.

"I can't help it Princess. You're too much fun to tease."

Marinette pouts.

"I was on the phone with Jagged Stone's assistant. I'm going over for an interview."

"Oh what for?"

Marinette debates whether to tell him or not. She decides to though, she can't lie to her kitty. Not about this anyway.

"I'm gathering proof that Lila is a liar," Marinette reveals.

Cat Noir acts surprise.

"I'm convinced. I'm in."

"In what?" Marinette questions.

"I'll help you. I don't like her either. I'll do whatever I can."

"Really?"

"Of course! My Princess needs saving. Her knight is here to save her!"

Marinette rolls her eyes but smiles brightly. Her phone rings. She checks her text. Again, a smile appears on her face.

"What has you so smiley?" Cat Noir pries.

"You're a nosy kitty. You know what they say about cats and curiosity."

"Oh? Are you making cat jokes now?!" Cat Noir beams.

"You wish," Marinette dismisses. "Anyway, it's a text from Chloe. She sent me Prince Ali's contact information. Adrien sent a text to her asking and explaining a little of the situation. Apparently, Chloe doesn't like Lila either. Chloe messaged Prince Ali and explained as well and passed my info. He'll video us in a few hours."

"Sounds like our next move is to get to the Le Grand Paris."

"How? It's not like I can take the subway with thee Cat Noir."

"By rooftop of course!"

"You better not drop me," Marinette warns.

"I never would drop my Princess. And this way, you can fill me in on the whole Lila situation and the plan."

The two get to the balcony. Cat Noir carries her all the way to the Le Grand Paris. They land by the door and quickly enter before someone spots the superhero. Penny greets them in the lobby. They walk to the elevators.

"Thanks again for doing this, especially on such short notice," Marinette mentions.

"Of course, Jagged is happy to," Penny nods.

The elevator chimes once they reach the right floor. Noise can be heard even from the hallway. Penny opens the door to Jagged and his agent arguing. Marinette tries not to hold a grudge against the man who stole from Kitty Section. Fang is sleeping on some pillows, not at all disturbed by the fight.

Jagged lights up when he sees Marinette. He jumps down from the couch and greets her.

"Marinette! My favorite rock 'n roller!" Jagged beams.

"Hi, I hope I didn't interrupt anything," Marinette greets.

Jagged wraps an arm around her shoulder and guides her to the couch.

"Not at all! He was just leaving," Jagged prompts.

Bob Roth scowls before storming out of the room. Both Jagged and Marinette sit on the couch. Penny stands off to the side writing on her clipboard.

"What can I help you with? Penny said you wanted an interview?" Jagged addresses.

He leans back, arms sprawled out on the couch, with one leg crossing the other. Marinette sits stiffly, not sure how to word her request. Cat Noir nods in encouragement.

"There's this girl at my school who says she knows you. I think she's a liar but no one believes me. I want to prove it. I know that sounds childish and petty, but…"

"Not at all! Anything to help you, you've done so much for me. Though I do have to ask, what's a superhero like you doing here?"

"I'm just here to help Marinette. This girl has been a problem and I also want the issue to be resolved," Cat Noir answers. "Plus, I can hold the camera."

A short time later, Jagged and Penny say goodbye to the duo. They travel down the elevator on their own.

"Where to next Princess?"

"The embassy. I want to talk to Lila's mother."

"You think she'll be willing to?"

"I'm not sure. I don't even know what to say. I can't say because I want to expose her daughter, but I can't lie to either."

"Leave that up to me. The good thing about having a superhero assistant is how I can get things done."

"I'm not sure if that's good or terrifying that you have that kind of power," Marinette teases.

"Hey! You'll be thanking me for this!"

"Oh yeah? And what will my knight get out of this?"

"Well… a princess always kisses her knight after being saved."

Marinette turns her head to hide her obvious blush. That damn cat and his flirting!

"You'll have to do something very heroic to get a kiss out of me," Marinette sticks her tongue at him.

Once again, the duo jump on the rooftops to get to the embassy. Once inside, they speak to someone about talking to Mrs. Rossi. It does take some convincing, but luckily with Cat Noir's persuasion, they're directed to where Mrs. Rossi is. What they find surprises them. They sit in her office and she types busily on her computer.

"I'm sorry but is this important? I have a lot on my agenda," Mrs. Rossi begins.

"Yes, we want to ask you some things about your daughter," Marinette responds.

"What about?" Mrs. Rossi inquires.

"It's the end of the year, we thought we'd get some people who know her and interview them," Cat Noir explains.

"And why would you be helping?" Mrs. Rossi wonders.

"Though it's not a pressing matter, I've been called to help. With the lack of akumas, my schedule has been light," Cat Noir states.

"I suppose that will be fine. But I can only give you ten minutes," Mrs. Rossi agrees.

"That's all we need," Marinette smiles.

After the interview with Mrs. Rossi, Cat and Marinette head back to her room. There she receives a text from Prince Ali. He can do a short interview over her computer. After getting the things she needs, Prince Ali logs off. Marinette sighs. A weight has been lifted. Not entirely but things are coming together.

"So is it my turn?" Cat Noir offers.

"We've been at this for a couple hours. Maybe you should go home. Won't someone be wondering where you are?"

Cat Noir sinks at the thought of going home.

"Can I come back later?"

"Of course, I still need to interview you. Rest your kwami and come back once you sneak out again. And uh, could you message Ladybug to stop by?"

"Anything for you Princess."

After Cat Noir leaves a message for Ladybug, he heads home. With his transformation dropped, Plagg drops to his bed with a groan.

"Need cheese now," Plagg whines.

Adrien rolls his eyes before handing Plagg a chunk of cheese. Plagg brightens up and starts devouring it.

"Do you think this is going to work?" Adrien questions.

"You worry too much. It'll all be fine," Plagg reasons.

Adrien sits at his desk unsure whether to believe Plagg or not. He decides to take this time to get some school work done. It isn't long before there's a knock on his door and Nathalie enters.

"Dinner is ready," Nathalie announces.

"Can I eat here? I still have a lot to do," Adrien requests.

Nathalie nods. A few minutes later, his food is brought to him. He eats most of it as he completes a page of homework. Plagg sighs contently from finishing his cheese.

"Ready?"

"I suppose."

"Plagg, claws out!"

Cat Noir feels much better racing to Marinette's house. Deciding to be polite, he knocks on her trap door. Marinette opens the door with a smile.

"Hey there kitty, back so soon?"

"What can I say? I missed your company," Cat Noir winks.

Marinette steps aside for him to enter.

"How have things been going since I left?"

"Uh good. Ladybug stopped by. Her interview gave me an idea who to interview next. Fire Captain Hessenpy."

"Ladybug stopped by? So rude not even to say 'hello' or anything."

"She was in a hurry."

"Well I'll stick around and help you. Let's go to the fire station."

The two land just outside the fire station. Men and women are in the garage, cleaning the firetruck or other equipment. They all smile when they see Cat Noir.

"Cat Noir!" some cheer.

"How can we help you?" one asks.

"Is Captain Hessenpy around?" Cat Noir inquires.

"Up in his office," another directs.

The two walk up to the second story office. Captain Hessenpy waves them into his office.

"What can I do for you?" Captain Hessenpy questions.

"Can we have a quick interview? I don't want to bother you too long while on duty," Marinette requests.

"Sure, as long as the alarm doesn't go off," Captain Hessenpy agrees.

"Thank you," Marinette pulls out her phone.

Once the interview is over, Marinette and Cat take a break sitting on her balcony. The two are content to sit in silence as they overlook the city lights. Cat Noir eats some left over macaroons and milk. Marinette giggles at the mess he makes.

"I didn't know cats were such a mess," Marinette teases.

"Aw I didn't mean to. Paw-lease don't throw me out!"

Marinette groans.

"Really a cat pun? I might throw you out for that!"

"I went all day without saying any. I've been waiting for a mewment like this."

"Are you going to only cat puns now because 'I' didn't let you say them all day?"

"That's not the right cat-titude! My puns are meow-nificent."

Marinette shakes her head, though a smile is on her face.

"I guess you deserve it after today."

"My Princess is so generous and claw-some!"

"I still need to interview you."

"Then why are you pro-cat-stinating?"

"I'm waiting for the cat puns to stop so I can get a decent interview out of you!"

"That might take some purr-suasion."

Marinette jumps from her seat and chases Cat Noir around her balcony. Eventually, she's able to grab him and drag him down to her room. He's promised more cookies if he behaves. Which he does.

Today is the day! The day one brownish-orange haired, green-eyed boy is going to prove his love to one (undeserving) girl! He jumps from his bed and grabs a box from his desk. With a final test, he's satisfied with the result. He's been working for months to get everything just right. Today is the day he tells the girl he likes how he feels.

"Paul! You're going to be late for school!" a woman from outside the room calls.

"I'm be there in second mom!" Paul returns.

With a triumphed smile, Paul grabs his backpack and box before heading out the door. Collège Françoise Dupont is only one subway station ride away. He's careful that nothing knocks or breaks the precious box. Unfortunately, the bell rings shortly after he arrives. He'll have to deliver the box later.

It's the last day of review. Though Paul can't concentrate on any of the material. Not when his nerves are heightened and anticipation courses through him.

"Paul!" Ms. Mendeleiev shouts.

Paul whips out of his fantasy and faces his teacher.

"You better focus if you want to do well next week," Ms. Mendeleiev warns.

"Not that he needs to. He's the brainiac of all brainiacs," a blonde boy teases.

"Daniel," Ms. Mendeleiev scolds. "Please Paul, leave your daydreaming to after your exams are finished."

"Yes ma'am," Paul nods.

Eventually, the bell rings signaling lunch. The students will disperse to go their many ways for lunch. If Paul hurries, he'll find his girl before that happens. Luckily, he knows which class she'll be in.

For Marinette, this is also a big moment. Now is the time to reveal her video. She takes a deep breath.

"Ready?" Adrien asks.

"Yeah, a little nervous that it won't be good," Marinette admits.

"Sorry I couldn't help."

"You did what you could."

"Let's do this."

Adrien goes ahead of everyone and blocks the door before anyone can leave. Though Ms. Mendeleiev is already walking down the hall.

"What gives dude?" Nino questions.

"Yeah, some of us have things to do," Alya snaps.

Marinette walks to the front of the class. She clears her throat.

"I-I want to show you guys something," Marinette announces.

The class becomes frustrated.

"Seriously Marinette? What is this?" Alix complains.

The rest of the class grumble. Lila remains weary, glaring down at Marinette.

"It's a video," Marinette answers. "About Lila."

Uproar ensues.

"This is crazy! We told you to stop this!" Alya shouts.

"More attacks on Lila? I hypothesized that you would give up by now," Max adds.

"Maybe we should watch it," Chloe suggests.

"Like we're listening to anything you say," Alya argues.

"I just can't believe you would keep attacking me like this. What did I ever do to you?" Lila fake sniffles.

"If you just gave me a moment to explain and show you the video," Marinette starts.

"Not after what you did to Lila," Kim crosses his arms.

Paul brushes pass Adrien into the room.

"Excuse me," Paul apologizes before beaming at the sight of Lila. "Lila! I found you."

"Yes… can I help you?" Lila asks somewhat politely.

"I made this for you," Paul awkwardly presents the box.

Lila tries not to grimace in front of everyone.

"Oh thanks. It's a great… friendship box," Lila accepts it in her hands.

"No! I made this for you because I think you're so wonderful! Ever since you started coming here I've been so inspired to make it. I like you," Paul blushes.

Lila groans too quietly for anyone to hear.

"It's… wonderful but I don't return your feelings," Lila declines.

"Watch me turn it on! You'll see!" Paul beams.

He presses a button but nothing happens. After a few more tries, still nothing happens. Paul becomes frustrated. Lila isn't sure what to do. Wanting desperately to make the boy go away without being cruel. For appearances sake.

"Come on! It was working this morning," Paul mumbles to himself. "It probably just needs more power."

He pulls out a power source from his bag. Tired of this weirdness, Lila trips the boy as he turns from grabbing. It falls to the ground and breaks.

"Lila," Alya scolds.

"I'm so sorry! I have spasms in my legs, sometimes I have no control over them," Lila lies.

Marinette tries not to explode at the ridiculous lie. Paul looks about ready to cry. Hurt over the events, he grabs the box from Lila and runs out of the room.

"That wasn't very nice," Marinette speaks up.

Lila walks closer to the front of the class where Marinette is.

"I said it was an accident. I didn't mean to break anything," Lila defends.

"Sure, how convenient that you have another illness. One we didn't know about until this moment," Marinette counters.

"I'm very insecure about my conditions. I don't like to announce them so freely," Lila returns.

"Funny, you've had no problem doing it before," Marinette points out.

The two glare at each other when they're a few feet away.

Is it cliché for someone to find a deserted spot to cry? Yes, especially in Hawk Moth times. But Paul must admit, he doesn't know what else to do. His beautiful box won't work now. And worse, Lila doesn't return his feelings. He's a mix of sad and angry. Totally lost in his emotions, he doesn't notice a purple butterfly fly into the box in his hand. His head automatically comes up. He hears a voice.

"Watt Zap, I am Hawk Moth. I'm giving you the power to electrically charge anything you want so you will always have power. This girl won't be able to resist you. Everything is yours. I just ask that you give me the Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir."

"Yes Hawk Moth."

Paul is covered in purple as he transforms. His normal clothes become a blue and black full, bodysuit. There's a huge lightning bolt on his front with electric lines reaching everywhere on his body. His hair is slicked up, now black with blue tips. His hands are bare except the transformed black and blue box. He grins wickedly.

Back in the classroom, the two girls look like they're about to attack each other.

"Please don't fight," Rose pleads.

"I'm sure Marinette is about to apologize for her outrageous behavior," Lila leads.

Marinette doesn't back down. Suddenly, something crashes through the ceiling. Adrien is forced to jump back and out of the classroom as the roof's support beams fall. Unfortunately, they block the door so the rest of the students can't get out. Watt Zap glares at the students below him.

"Paul," Marinette acknowledges.

"Actually it's Watt Zap," Watt Zap corrects. "Do you like me now Lila?"

Lila slightly trembles.

"All this over accidentally breaking your thing?" Lila wants to scoff.

"I worked hard on it for months and you didn't even appreciate it! You broke it!" Watt Zap shouts.

"It was an accident," Lila shrugs. "Just fix it and give it more power. But you better find someone else to give it to."

Watt Zap clenches his free fist.

"No. I think it's you who needs my power," Watt Zap coldly determines.

He holds out his box hand and points it at Lila. Marinette, being the hero she is, pushes Lila out of the way just in time. Sadly, that means she's hit herself. Though she's never gone through the experience, to her it feels like an electric shock. Not a small one either. Marinette crumples to the ground in pain. The rest of the students are in complete shock. Lila rubs her arm.

"Watch it! You could have broken my arm!" Lila yells.

Her threat is useless though. Marinette is concentrating on her own pain. It still feels like shocks are flowing through her. If her life was a cartoon, you'd be able to see actual little shocks as they move. Instead, Marinette just closes her eyes and jolts every few seconds.

Alya covers her mouth, trying not cry or scream. Adrien looks just, if not more, upset. He runs down the hall to transform. Everyone else looks at an angered akumatized villain floating in the air. He growls.

"That wasn't meant for you," Watt Zap ridicules. "What a nuisance."

He floats down to her.

"Don't you touch her!" Alya warns.

Turning to watch the students wanting to help but not sure what they could do, Watt Zap uses his power to strike. His electricity hits the desks next to them. They scream. Just as Watt Zap is about to grab Marinette, he's hit by a black staff. He turns to see a serious and furious Cat.

"Hey! Didn't anyone tell you playing with electricity is dangerous?" Cat Noir puns.

"I hear cats and electricity don't go well together," Watt Zap responds.

Cat Noir's staff shortens to it's fighting size. He poses, ready to fight and keep his princess safe from more harm.

"It'll be no shock when I win," Cat Noir taunts.

Watt Zap glares before sending a strike of electricity. Cat moves his head to the side and avoids being hit. He jumps down, only for Watt Zap to move out of the way as well. The students gather in the back corner. Cat Noir tries to strike Watt Zap with his staff but he's too agile to be hit. Especially when Cat isn't thinking clearly. Watt Zap leaps back to gain distance before blasting a table in front of Cat. The table explodes and hits Cat Noir back.

With him distracted, Watt Zap grabs Lila.

"Let's see what you do when I gain even more power," Watt Zap determines.

"Hey! Let me go!" Lila demands.

He doesn't listen. Watt Zap takes Lila through the hole in the roof and disappears. Cat Noir stands with a groan. It only takes him a second before his attention goes to Marinette.

"Marinette!" Cat Noir realizes before kneeling at her side.

Her eyes barely crack open. She tries to smile but that hurts.

"Cat Noir?"

"I'm here."

"Is she going to be okay?" Alya asks worriedly.

The students have stepped forward from the corner. All are concerned for the bluenette.

"I'm going to take her somewhere for help. You stay here until Ladybug and I stop Watt Zap," Cat Noir instructs.

He picks up Marinette, who groans at the movement. Briefly after jumping through the hole, Marinette gets his attention.

"Stop," Marinette quietly requests.

Cat Noir stops jumping just outside a different classroom.

"What is it?" Cat Noir inquires.

"Put me down."

"Why? You need medical attention."

"I'll be fine. Just stop Watt Zap."

"I can't leave you like this."

"Please? I'll be fine once Ladybug uses miraculous ladybug. Stop him before he hurts someone else."

"Even if that person is Lila?"

"She may be a terrible person, but no one deserves that."

Cat Noir nods before entering the closest classroom. He sets her down.

"Stay safe," Cat Noir demands.

Once he's gone, Marinette sits up with a groan.

"Marinette! Are you okay?" Tikki panics.

"I'm fine but we need to transform and stop the akuma," Marinette assures.

Standing is proven a difficult process though.

"You won't be hundred percent even after transforming. You'll need to use miraculous ladybug quickly," Tikki informs.

Marinette nods in agreement. Finally, standing somewhat, Marinette takes a deep breath.

"Tikki, spots out!"

Cat Noir finds Watt Zap and Lila at the power grid of the school.

"I didn't mean to charge right in, but I didn't want to miss out on the fun," Cat Noir interrupts.

"You really don't know when to give up do you?" Watt Zap growls.

"Please Cat Noir! Save me!" Lila begs.

"Hang in there. I'll get to you once I'm done with him," Cat Noir dismisses.

"Well then," Lila huffs.

Again, Watt Zap tries to strike Cat Noir with no success. Cat Noir does his best to get as close as possible but with electric shocks being sent his way, it's proven difficult. Cat Noir jumps behind a pillar.

"Any progress?"

Cat Noir's head snaps to his partner leaning against another pillar. She's doesn't look well.

"Milady? Are you feeling alright?" Cat Noir worries.

"I just want to get this over with," Ladybug answers.

"Me too, someone I care about was struck by his power. She's seriously hurt."

He doesn't understand her small smile at his words. What about his words could possibly make her smile? His thoughts get distracted though to get the job done.

"I think the akuma is in that box in his hand," Ladybug observes.

"How do we get to it? I can't get close without possibly becoming a fried cat!"

Ladybug glances between the pillars to examine the akumatized villain.

"Come out, come out wherever you are, stupid cat," Watt Zap calls.

Ladybug focuses on his bare hands. Her attention goes back to Cat Noir.

"Guess now would be a good time for some luck. Lucky charm!"

A giant spotted tire lands next to her.

"A giant tire? Are we supposed to drive through him?"

Looking around, Cat Noir and the tire light up in her mind. She smiles.

"Watt Zap's hands are bare. The electricity comes from his box. His hands need to be bare so he can direct it. And rubber is one insulator. Now trust me on this next part."

Not sure how it came to this, Cat Noir rests inside the tire.

"Are you pawsitive this will work?"

"It will. Just do what I say."

Ladybug wheels him into the path of Watt Zap. He scowls. Using her strength, Ladybug pushes the tire towards him. Cat Noir does his best not to get sick. Thinking nothing of it, Watt Zap strikes the tire but has no affect. He gasps.

"Now!" Ladybug commands.

"Cataclysm!"

Cat Noir jumps from the tire as it rolls pass him. His hand lands on the box and breaks. The akuma flies out.

"No!" Watt Zap shouts as he untransforms.

He squats down, back to his normal self.

"Time to de-evilise!"

Ladybug opens her yo-yo and swings it grabbing the butterfly.

"Gotcha!"

She releases the pure white butterfly. Not the first time wondering will it will go now. Back to Hawk Moth?

"Bye-bye little butterfly!" she waves.

Cat Noir kicks the tire over to her. She picks it up and throws it into the air.

"Miraculous Ladybug!"

The item disappears leaving ladybugs and a pink glow behind. Everything damaged is repaired. She feels back to her old self as well. Picking up a battery, she hands it to Paul along with the box.

"Thank you Ladybug," Paul accepts both items.

"No problem and I know this is none of my business, but I don't think you should give up on your creation. With a little more hard work, it'll be beautiful," Ladybug smiles.

Paul smiles with a nod.

"I'll give it to someone who really deserves it," Paul glares at Lila.

"Let's take them back," Ladybug attaches herself to Paul.

"Why do I get her?" Cat Noir grumbles.

"Hey! That's rude!" Lila complains.

Nevertheless, they take the two back to the classroom with the others. Ladybug and Cat Noir depart. Paul leaves the classroom as well. Ladybug detransforms in the classroom Cat Noir left her in. Knowing he's off somewhere back to his civilian self, Marinette leaves and makes her way back to the classroom.

"Marinette!" Alya greets her with a hug. "Are you okay? I was so worried!"

"You were worried about me?" Marinette asks shocked.

"Yeah," Alya nods guiltily. "Maybe we've been jumping to conclusions. Show us your video."

As Marinette glances around the rest of the room, she notices everyone nod. Adrien arrives back to the classroom just in time to see Marinette hook up a drive to Ms. Mendeleiev's screen. The video plays.

Jagged Stone is lounging against his couch, Fang is seen resting in the background.

"Thank you again for doing this Jagged," Marinette thanks.

"Anything for my favorite rock 'n roller," Jagged Stone winks. "What would you like to ask me?"

"I'm doing this project on a classmate of mine, Lila Rossi. You know her right?"

"Hmm, the name doesn't ring a bell. Should I?"

"She claims to have saved your cat. One you had a long time ago before you found out you're allergic. I think on an airstrip."

"She must be confused with some other rock star. I've never owned a cat. Fang is the only animal companion I've ever had."

"Interesting. So how come you wrote a song about her?"

"None of my songs are about this Lila person. Speaking of songs though, I should write one about you!"

"Me? Why?"

"In return for all the things you've done for me. Which reminds me, I might be asking for more of your designing. Also, Clara Nightingale has been wanting your number. Hope it's fine I passed it along."

"Of course. Thanks Jagged."

The tape cuts to Mrs. Rossi sitting at her desk.

Lila panics.

"Mrs. Rossi, I've learned a lot about Lila. It must be hard having a daughter with so many conditions," Marinette starts.

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Rossi questions.

"She's told us about all her medical conditions, a rare disease that cause her to say things she doesn't mean, tinnitus in her left ear, arthritis, motion sickness, and even spraining her wrist once or twice."

"Lila doesn't have any of those conditions. She's perfectly healthy. I'm not sure the last time she even visited the doctor. Maybe four months ago, but that was just a check-up."

The students gasp at the information.

"She also told us about her amazing mother, a diplomat, traveling to exciting countries together."

Mrs. Rossi shakes her head and sighs.

"I'm a translator for the embassy. I don't do any of the exciting things they do like travel."

"Maybe I heard wrong. Is her father a diplomat?"

"No, he's a business consultant. He does travel often but neither Lila or I ever go."

"I see. How come then Lila missed school if she wasn't traveling?"

"Lila told me the school was closed due to the number of akuma attacks. She assured me recently that it was safe to open again."

The students start to get a sense of who Lila really is.

"So Lila's never been to America, India, Japan, or Achu?"

"No nothing like that. We lived in Belgium for a few years. I was born in Spain so we've visited a couple times. That's all."

The video shows Prince Ali on Marinette's screen as the two talk.

"Sorry to take time out of your busy schedule," Marinette apologizes.

"No problem, Chloe assured me it's important," Prince Ali responds.

"I just wanted to ask about this project you and Lila Rossi are working on together."

Prince Ali looks confused.

"I don't know a Lila Rossi."

"Really? She told me she was invited by you to your palace. The two of you are working on a project to reduce pollution."

"No, I haven't done anything like that. I'm focused on projects on helping children, whether in foster care or in the hospital and endangered animals."

"Thanks for clearing that up."

There's another shift to Ladybug sitting on her balcony against the wall. That way there's more light.

"I know of Lila. Not a long time. We met because she was spreading lies about us being friends, and that she's related to a past superhero. Neither are true. She's also been akumatized and chased by akumatized victims," Ladybug informs.

The scene changes to Captain Hessenpy's office. This time Marinette is in the shot as well. Marinette hopes no one wonders why she wasn't with Ladybug.

"Do you remember a Lila Rossi?" Marinette asks.

"I'm afraid I don't."

"Do you remember a girl with a horn in her head?"

Captain Hessenpy slightly laughs at that.

"Sorry, that was probably rude but yes, I remember a girl like that. Cat Noir asked me to look at her leg, which I didn't understand. It was fine."

"Do you often have people fake injuries?"

"Not typically. Sometimes a woman might. They like to get firefighters' attention. It's obvious though, their fake swoon and 'horrible injury'. That girl wasn't like that though."

"Why would she fake an injury then?"

"Cat Noir accused her of wanting Ladybug alone with the akumatized person. I didn't hear more about it because I got transported away."

Lastly, Cat Noir appears on her screen. He's also against her wall on the balcony.

"Is it true that Lila wanted Ladybug alone with an akumatized person?" Marinette inquires.

"Yes. She tried to separate Ladybug and me. It's not the first time she's done something underhanded to get what she wants."

"I see you're not of fan of hers."

"How can I be a fan of someone who constantly lies? I know I don't have a ton of experience being around her, but I know she's not someone I would trust."

The video ends. Lila is seething. The room is full of tension. Adrien decides to step forward to speak.

"Though I don't have any solid proof, that's not the only thing Lila is guilty of. She tried to get Marinette expelled. And… she threatened Marinette many times as well as her family," Adrien divulges.

Lila laughs awkwardly.

"You're not going to believe that are you?" Lila addresses the class.

"I can't believe it," Alya starts. Lila smirks thinking that Marinette's plan failed. "I can't believe we ever trusted you."

"Yeah, you're the real liar around here," Alix agrees.

"Uncool," Juleka mumbles.

"Why? I thought you were our friend," Mylène wonders.

"I only told you what you wanted to hear," Lila defends.

"That's lying," Nathanael scowls.

"Wait till we show everyone this. I'm putting it on the school blog," Alya announces.

"That isn't why I made the video! I'm not going to stoop to her level and out her like that," Marinette claims.

Lila leans close to Marinette's face with an angered expression.

"You should have listened. Now I'm definitely calling Raphael," Lila reveals.

"Call him, no one will believe anything you say now," Adrien stands next to Marinette.

"Especially since I leaked the video. Sorry Marinette, but we're not letting Lila get away with this," Max reveals typing on the computer.

"Everyone will see this video," Markov adds.

Max and Alya high-five. With an irritated huff, Lila pushes her way through the crowd and out of the room. As she passes numerous people, she can hear everyone is watching the video. Lila storms out of the school.

Everyone in Ms. Mendeleiev's classroom cheers. They all go to hug Marinette. Finally Marinette feels free.

"I'm so sorry I didn't believe you Mari," Alya apologizes. "I was a horrible friend."

"Hey, don't beat yourself too much. Lila could be convincing. I just hope you still want to be friends."

"Totally girl! I'm never letting you down again!" Alya promises.

She's swept up in a hug. Marinette giggles. She sees Adrien and mouths a 'thank you'. Adrien nods. It's not like he really did anything, but he's glad to see Marinette smiling.

"I'm guess the rest of school has been cancelled," Sabrina looks up from her phone.

"I better get to the dance committee meeting then," Marinette notes.

"We," Alya corrects. "We're all going."

The rest of the class agrees. The group walks together to plan the dance. That night, Marinette leans against her balcony rail, her hands holding up her head. A stupid smile is plastered against her face. Even in her dream-like trance, she doesn't fail to notice an extra presence.

"What has you so deliriously happy?"

Marinette smiles brighter, if that's even possible.

"I showed everyone the video and they apologized. The principal saw it too. Lila has been expelled. She'll do her exams in the office," Marinette divulges.

Cat Noir lights up.

"That's great! I'm so happy for you!"

"Me too. Did you stop by to celebrate?"

"Just to check on you. Unfortunately I can't stay."

"Too bad. I owe you a lot of thanks."

"This was all you. I only helped a little."

Marinette pulls Cat Noir into a hug. He stiffens, surprised by the notion.

"Still, thank you."

Cat Noir smiles before hugging her back tightly. When they pull back, their faces are still close. Cat Noir debates whether he should kiss her or not, but he's too afraid. She couldn't feel the same way about him. Surprising him again, Marinette leans up and places a soft kiss on his cheek. It heats up with his blush. Marinette pulls back with a smile.

"To thank my meow-velous knight."

Cat Noir's smile expands as far as it can possibly go.

"Why Princess, you have one smitten kitten! I shall return tomorrow to protect my precious treasure," Cat Noir winks before leaving.

Marinette slightly blushes before going back to her dream-like daze, leaning against her balcony rail. Tikki appears, floating next to her.

"Tikki…"

"Yes?"

"I think I'm falling in love with Cat Noir."

"Oh Marinette," Tikki giggles.

Truth is, Tikki knows she already is.

Thank you so much for reading! And yes the ending here is supposed to mirror last chapter. If you look at Mendeleiev's class photo, the boy in the front middle is where Paul comes from (I made that up, not actually true). Not sure when the next chapter will be up. Probably in a few days. Please review!
