Chapter 11
(Movie 2 Frodo & Sam)
It had been almost three days since Frodo and Sam had split from the fellowship and now they were trying to find their way through a rocky maze that would hopefully lead them closer to Mordor. Sam noticed that Frodo was troubled and had been for a while "Mr. Frodo, what is wrong you have been troubled since we left the others?" Sam waited for him to answer hoping he would at least be able to comfort his friend.
"It is just something Harry told me. After we had crossed the river I heard his voice in my head he told me that when all hope seemed lost, when things seemed the darkest that as long as I held on to the hope that better days would come that nothing could stop us. He also reminded me that if we needed help to call to him and he would come, but if we did not then to call him when we were ready to destroy the ring as he would need to be there when it was destroyed." Frodo explained what had happened before he had met Sam on the beach.
"How could he get to us when he is probably going to be many miles always by that time?" Sam asked quite confused on how that would be possible. He was always in awe of Harry's magic but he thought that what Frodo was describing would be even impossible for Harry.
"I don't really know Sam, all I know is I trust him and that is all I can do." They walked in silence for a while trying to find the right path and getting quite frustrated as the day wore on.
Sam was the one who broke the silence "I wonder what they others will do now that the fellowship is parted?" Sam truly did wonder what the others would do now. He hoped that whatever happened that they remained safe.
"Harry said that even though we had to go our own way we would not be fighting alone. That they would be doing what they could to distract the enemy I guess you could say by helping others who are caught in the middle of this war." Frodo said with a grim smile "I know Harry and Strider will look after them I just hope they will be alright.
"They will be." Sam looked around a frown on his face "This looks strangely familiar."
Frodo now looked around as well before letting a moan of frustration escape him "That's because we've been here before we're going in circles." He shook his head wondering what to do now.
They both sat down for a rest for a while as they ate some Lambas bread Sam looked toward the fiery mountain they were trying to get to "Mordor the one place in middle earth we don't want to see any closer and the one place we are trying to get too. I don't think Gandalf meant for us to come this way."
"He did not mean for a lot of things to happen Sam but they did all we can do now is try to keep going." Frodo did not look to hopeful.
"There is a horrid stench, I reckon there is a nasty bog nearby, can you smell it?" Sam asked wondering if his senses where playing tricks on him.
Frodo walked past his friend till he stood on the cliff ledge staring out into the distance "Yes I can smell it." His voice took an ominous turn as he turned to Sam a look of caution on his face "We're not alone."
They walked for a few more hours before decided to make camp for the night but soon enough both where startled out of sleep when they heard someone or something whispering above them about thieves and how they stole it's precious. While they listened they readied themselves, one the creature that Frodo had identified as Gollum got close enough they acted grabbing the creature and trying to subdue him but it was not working very well.
Gollum saw the ring and made a dive for it, as Frodo tried to keep Gollum away from the ring he called out for Harry hoping he would hear as Frodo did not know what to do now that Gollum was a part of this mess.
Soon enough Frodo had Gollum at sword point as he tried to strangle Sam. "This is sting you've seen it before haven't you Gollum?" Frodo noticed Sam starting to turn purple from lack of air and pushed sting a little closer to Gollum's exposed throat as he continued "Release him or I'll cut your throat."
Gollum did release Sam but soon after started to wail as if he was being tortured. Sam tied the rope they had around Gollum so that they could make sure he did not get away and soon they set off not knowing that two people where following them and had seen what had happened.
(Harry and the others at the time Frodo called out to him.)
"Harry!"
Harry had been running beside Aragorn when he heard Frodo cry out for him in his mind he knew that the hobbits would be ok for a little while but as he looked at how the new situation would affect the quest he knew he had to act.
"Is everything alright Harry?" Aragorn's voice startled Harry out of his thoughts Harry just smiled at him as he thought about what he could do to stop the future he had seen and how he could save not only Frodo and Sam but also possible one who had been forgotten.
"I need to go to Frodo and Remus will be coming with me. If Remus comes with me it may change an potential enemy into an ally. I will return a soon as I am able don't worry I will find you." Harry explained before he dropped back until he was level with his dad, Remus, and Sirius. "Remus I need you to come with me, it will take too long to explain I just need you to trust me I have wasted enough time already just know that you will be more useful to our quest elsewhere."
Remus looked confused but nodded and said goodbye to James and Sirius before he took Harry's arm and they appriated away. When they finally landed Harry and Remus watched the fight between Gollum and the hobbits and then followed them as the traveled for a little while all the while Harry explained to Remus mentally what he wanted of him. Remus agreed to the plan and so they waited for the right time to reveal themselves. Harry just hoped that his plan worked and save them all some pain in the feature and possibly saved a life that everyone else thought forsaken.
