Raring To Go! Let The Sports Festival Commence!

The day had finally come. The sports festival was here. Goku had prepared himself the best he could and along with the rest of the class begun the trek into the stadium. As they walked into the open they saw the crowds of people cheering, some were heroes and others were random civilians.

"Wow. Didn't expect there to be so many people" Goku muttered.

"Oh wow what's this? A member of Class 1-A acting like a complete buffoon. Ahahahaha" remarked a blonde-haired boy with a sinister grin. Goku looked at him and saw him coming with a different group of students. He figured that the boy was part of Class 1-B.

"Um can I help you?" asked Goku to this newcomer with a confused look on his face. The boy just laughed even more which creeped Goku out a lot. Suddenly the boy's body went slack and someone grabbed him by the back of his gym shirt. Goku saw that it was a orange-haired girl who was actually rather attractive.

"Sorry about him. Monoma's got it out for Class 1-A just because he didn't get into it himself. He's got a sort of superiority complex. My name's Itsuka Kendo by the way. Nice to meet you" she said with a heart-warming smile. Goku returned the gesture with a smile of his own.

"Nice to meet you too. I'm Goku! Can't wait to see what you're made of!" he cheerily said making Kendo chuckle. Goku suddenly rubbed his chin in thought. Kendo just stared at him curiously.

"You said he has a superiority complex yeah? Guess that makes him like Bakugo" he stated.

"Who's Bakugo?" asked Kendo. Goku looked up at her and put his hand to his side.

"Oh don't worry. You'll find out soon enough" he said while shrugging and giving a goofy smile. Kendo shook her in head in amusement before the pair of them wished each other luck and returned to their respective classes. Goku moved to stand besides Jiro who noticed his late arrival.

"What took you so long? Weren't daydreaming again were you?" she snidely remarked. Goku looked at her with confusion before responding.

"What no! I was just making new friends. Although I'm pretty sure one of them hates me" he said with a raised eyebrow. Jiro sighed and gave a small smile.

"Goku remember what I said about you not changing the way you are ever?" she asked.

"Yeah what about that?" he replied with another question.

"Seriously. Never change the way you are. You do that and the world may just end" came the response with a laugh. Goku just laughed as well.

"Welcome Japan to the UA Sports Festival!" came a voice from just in front of the students. Goku turned to see a woman in what appeared to be an extremely revealing costume. The majority of the men in the audience were drooling at the sight. In her hand was a…feather duster?

"Jiro why has she got some weird feather duster looking thing in her right hand?" asked Goku. Jiro's eyes widened in surprise at the question. She looked at him and he saw that she was flushed.

"Go…Goku! What sort of question is that? That's not a feather duster!" she stammered with Goku raising an eyebrow in response.

"Isn't it? What is it then?" he naïvely asked.

"I'll tell you when you're older" came the quick response. Goku opened his mouth to respond but decided against it when the same woman spoke once more.

"Okay before we get this Sports Festival underway we will have an intro talk by the highest ranking member of the Hero Course practical exam. Give it up for Katsuki Bakugo!" she exclaimed. Everyone in Class 1-A showed visible signs of worry as Bakugo woke up to the microphone on the stage. They all prayed for the same thing. 'Please don't say anything that will screw us over'. They weren't so lucky.

"I'm just going to say that I'm going to win" Bakugo bluntly stated. Almost instantaneously the air amongst every student present changed as all gazes were filled with hate and turned towards Class 1-A. While his classmates stressed Goku just shrugged. He saw this as a challenge worth taking on. He'd managed to overhear from Kaminari and Tokoyami, the boy with a raven head, that the woman was the 18+ heroine Midnight so his questions had all been answered.

"Alright. Let's get the obstacle course underway. Take your positions. The first forty-two students to make it back to the stadium will go through to the next round. Good luck and get ready to go Plus Ultra!" she yelled. Everyone present, including the audience, erupted into cheers before the students took their positions at the obstacle course starting line. Everyone readied up and Goku silently whispered a word many had heard before.

"Kaioken" he whispered loud enough for Jiro to hear and immediately panic.

"You idiot don't use it" she reprimanded. Goku, in his red aura, looked at her and smiled.

"Don't worry. I'm only going to use up to times three and if I have to times four. Times twenty is off limits" he assured her. Her body relaxed and the doors opened up as Present Mic, who was commentating to the ire of Aizawa who he dragged along with him, yelled start. Everyone took off with Goku about to launch himself forward. Suddenly Goku found his as well as everyone else's feet frozen to the ground. Goku's eyes narrowed in frustration and he looked up to see Todoroki running away.

"Oh no you don't!" Goku yelled as he blasted the ice around his feet with a ki blast before taking off. On his way out he sent a few more ki blasts to the ice around the feet of Jiro, Momo and Kaminari. He then fully took off with the aura of Kaioken burning brightly. In the lead were Todoroki with Bakugo close behind him. There was about 100 yds between Goku and the explosion loving teen. Goku silently muttered Kaioken x2 to speed himself up and upon growing nearer to Bakugo he depowered back to x1. There was a sudden boom and all three students came to a stop. A giant robot towered above them an with little effort from Todoroki was taken down allowing all three to pass, still in the same rankings as before.

"I'M NOT LOSING TO YOU ICYHOT!" screamed Bakugo causing Goku to roll his eyes at his classmate's behaviour. The race continued until both Todoroki and Bakugo suddenly slowed down. With the other students behind them Goku took the chance and passed them. All looked good until Goku found himself plummeting downwards with no way to stop his fall.

"Damn! Now I know why they stopped!" he thought to himself while criticising his lack of foresight. He closed his eyes and the aura of Kaioken disappeared and it all looked over for Goku.

"Didn't want to do this yet but I've got no choice. Concentrate Goku. Concentrate!" he yelled at himself before a light blue aura enveloped him and his descent changed. Instead of going straight down Goku was tilting upwards and began going in the direction he was originally going in with one clear difference. He was moving in mid-air. Goku had a huge smile on his face and flew upwards out of the chasm and on the other side. His sudden appearance shocked multiple people.

"WOOHOO! IT WORKED! I'M FLYING!" he yelled in excitement before zooming off towards the finish line. Making sure to keep the race somewhat fair Goku flew close to the ground and eventually came across Todoroki, Bakugo and…Deku? To be exact he came across Todoroki looked annoyed, Bakugo looking pissed and Deku in front of both them having launched himself off some landmines from an obstacle Goku had completely skipped due to his flight. Increasing his acceleration Goku closed the gap and as Deku passed the finish line he waved at both Todoroki and Bakugo as he flew past both of them. Todoroki looked shocked and Bakugo looked like he was about to kill someone. The crowd erupted into cheers as Goku came in second place. As he neared Deku his aura disappeared and he came to a skidding halt next to his friend who looked more shocked at the fact that he had come in first place. Goku laughed and turned to see his friends come through the finish line. He noticed Momo had passed but had Mineta attached to her. Goku rolled his eyes and walked over to his friend. He grabbed Mineta by his shirt and pulled the purple-haired pervert of Momo. He chucked him away with Momo thanking him.

"Don't worry about it. It's what friends are for" he said before giving a thumbs up. He turned to face Midnight who began to announce the next event.

"Congratulations! The first forty-two of you are going through to the next round. This year it will be a cavalry battle. You will choose teams and then compete to steal the points of your competition. The points will be displayed on headbands. Oh and by the way your ranking's in the last event will denote the points you have" she explained before clicking a button. A leaderboard appeared with the names of each person who finished the obstacle. Goku's name had 750 points next to his name but it was the name above that concerned him. He looked over at Deku who was visibly panicking at the prospect of the points he had. Deku had 10 million points. All participants gazed at him and he felt a target on his back. Goku looked determined to help his friend out. He walked over to Deku, placed his hand on his shoulder and gave Deku a warm smile.

"Don't worry. I've got your back"

Hi guys! Sorry about the wait. The sports festival has begun with this chapter but i've actually finished the whole arc. I'm currently on the Hero Killer Arc but I'm taking a different approach to the arc which you'll see. Consider is somewhat original content that diverges from the normal My Hero Academia story.

Also quick response to the Guest who left a review regarding a certain item that Goku uses. All I can say is don't worry. It will show up. He will use it. As to when it will show up i guess i can let you in on a little secret. It will be given to him in this very season.
