The Angel's Demon

Chapter 3: The Dacelus

Dante stepped out of the estate taking in a deep breath, he looked up at the sky the once cloudless day full of sunshine was now being shrouded by darkness, many shades of dark clouds covering the sky. "I thought Capulet City was know for it's nice weather, guess it's known more for it's demons…" He said to himself.

He continued to walk down the path towards the grand gate doors when he heard someone calling after him, "Dante wait." Mrs. Dumont pleaded. He stopped in his tracks and turned to face her.

"You won't be able to find her if I don't tell you what she looks like currently." She said still somewhat ashamed.

"You left me a picture of her, I know what she looks like." He said sensing that this conversation was a waste of time.

"No, her appearance has changed. She looked like that up until yesterday midday." Mrs. Dumont spoke with such graveness and as if she were in denial about something, something that Dante couldn't quite grasp what it was. "She has long red hair, light blue eyes she's just so different.." Tears were coming back to her eyes.

"I'll find her, she shouldn't be that hard to find." He said turning back around and walking through the now opened door gate.

Meanwhile...

Angela put her hands up in an attempt to protect her face from the ground. She tumbled and rolled into an alley way hitting a couple of garbage cans. The pavement was cold and she laid their face down in defeat, her hands stinging. She looked at them and their were a couple of scratches but soon they were gone and the small ache was too.

She was covered in some dirt, leaves and grime. She turned around to see and much too her dismay the large now dirt covered wings draped over her. They were glued to her, she simply wish she could run away from what was happening to her but the strangeness followed her.

She decided that it was no use to lay in the middle of the alley where someone could just see her, so she walked further in because flying was out of the question, she didn't know how to control her wings. They were large and the feathers at the bottom touched the floor but surprisingly they weren't heavy. She continued to walk until she found a suitable corner to hide.

The sky was now completely dark and a couple of droplets began to fall until it became heavier. Her clothes absorbed the wet and since she wasn't wearing any shoes her socks absorbed the water that was on the ground. It got cold real fast but there was no chance she was leaving this hidden area, she felt secure in a strange way. Angela hugged herself trying to conceive warmth but the sudden climate of harsh rain and wind wasn't permitting it.

There was a figure making its way towards her, it resembled a person. She squinted, the heavy rain making it hard to make anything out. The figure approached slowly. It was a man he was very tall, he was wearing glasses, his hair a brown color. He was all wet and he smiled at her but it didn't seem friendly at all.

Angela was unable to look away from him nor did she move, she just stared. "My, my, my what do we have here?" He said puzzling his chin, he still had that same wild, sinster grin on his face. "Oh my, it can't be I heard you were all wiped out long ago." He let out a laugh.

"What are you talking about?" Angela got up sensing something, a dark evil emitting from this man she started to back up heading for the exit of the alley. "Don't leave yet child." He begged. Angela turned to run but the man lifted his arm and a large wall rose were the exit of the alley should be. Angela hit the wall trying to break it down but her hits were useless.

She turned back to face him and he was closer. "You are a rare prize my child, my master is sure to be pleased with me if I bring you back," he licked his lower lips, "at least most of you." He let out another laugh but then it became deeper and the man before her began to change, he morphed into a grotesque creature, it resembled a large wolf but it was scarier, it's teeth were bared and it's eyes were all red.

It was bracing it's self for a pounce, it growled but it sounded more like a laugh. At the moment it pounced, Angela stretched her arms out shielding herself, there was a faint purple light emitting from her hands and when the wolf came in contact with it the light shined brightly blinding the two. There was a heavy crash sound instance later. Angela opened her eyes to see that the wolf had crashed into a couple of cans.

She had to take advantage of this situation, she started running back the other way, she felt very light on her feet, she continued to run towards the opposite exit of the alley when she was tackled from behind landing face front on the pavement. She felt the creatures hot breath on her head, "no where to run." He said pinning her down with his large paws.

Suddenly there were multiple gunshots and the wolf was no longer on top of her. "Down puppy." said a voice but it was hard to hear the rain was so heavy all you could hear was the sloshing of the big raindrops on the ground. Angela looked up dazed another figure approached her he had a gun in each hand pointed in front of him. He looked to her with a slight smile and then he looked back at the wolf, "picking on a lady, and I thought that dogs were mans best friend." he said starting to fire his guns once more.

Dante ran forward leaving Angela behind, he needed to take care of the problem first before he could attend to her. "The Dacelus is mine!" The wolf snarled charging forward to meet Dante in the air. Dante was wide eyed with surprise, he turned back briefly to see Angela still laying on the ground, her white wings covering her.

He turned back to look at the creature, "I beg to differ!" Dante said firing his gun and with that the wolf's attack was stunned which enabled him to unhook his sword from his back holster, he struck the wolf, piercing it's head in mid air. They fell with a loud thud onto the ground, leaving a dent on the pavement. Blood oozed from the wolfs head, the wolf growled one last time saying, "others will come for her, now we know." then the wolf's once fiery eyes were lifeless and blank now.

"I'd like to see the rest of them try." Dante commented putting his sword back on his holster and putting his guns away, hiding them in his trench coat. "You demons are hardly a challenge nowadays…such as shame none of you know how to throw a party anymore." He mumbled.

Angela was starting to get up when a hand presented itself in front of her, Dante smiled lightly towards her. "Are you alright?"

She sensed a strange aura from him but she knew right away it wasn't evil or anything. She took his hand and he helped her get up. " Yes, thank you." She said looking at him. He was handsome, white hair, a dark blue gaze sporting a red trench coat and a sword. "may I know your name?" She asked.

"It's Dante." The name sounded familiar to her, she took a step back realizing that he had the same name as the man her mother had hired to watch over her. "We should get going the rain doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon and it took me long enough to find you." He said pulling out a white feather from his inside jacket pocket.

"I'm not going back out there, everyone will think I'm a freak once they see me." She said tugging on one of the feathers on her wing.

"Trust me everyone else is busy minding not to get wet in the rain besides you wouldn't want another dog coming after you right?" He started walking towards the end of the alley, Angela followed quietly behind him.

They walked through the streets, no one really but them walking on the sidewalk, just a couple of cars driving by. Angela felt more comfortable that no one was looking at her. They walked for a while until they reached the estate, Dante didn't have to go to the speaker to get Alphonse to open the gate the doors were already opened.

Mrs. Dumont was waiting their under an umbrella in the rain for her daughter. She was happy to see Dante entering and followed by Angela. She gasped at the sight of her daughter, her jacket was torn and so was some parts of her jeans but what stunned her were the large white wings. She couldn't move, she could only look at her daughter brokenhearted as they approached her.

"Well, I found her, like I said I would." Dante said.

"Angela?" Mrs. Dumont asked, she walk towards her but hesitated in her steps. Angela lower her gaze and as she did her wings also sagged reflecting her sadness. "Is there any way to change her back?" Mrs. Dumont questioned looking at Dante.

"The answer your looking for stands before you. Whatever Angela was before is no more, she's a demon."

Mrs. Dumont dropped the umbrella, she clasped her mouth with both hands in horror, "no it can't be, he said he wouldn't ever…" She was also instantly soaked in the rain. Mrs. Dumont turned around and ran back inside without another glance towards her daughter.

Angela could only look after her mother unsure of how to proceed next. It was clear to Angela that what was happening to her was unacceptable in her mother's eyes. She couldn't believe it either but instead of feeling rage or denial, all those emotions were drowned out by a deep sadness.

She didn't belong to the life she once had, her purpose was unknown to her. Why had she become this creature out of the blue, why her, there were many unclear things to her in this moment. There was really only one thing that was clear to her, one way to proceed, she had to leave.

Oh poor Angela :( oh and that demon called her a Dacelus, what was that about? Don't worry it will be explained and you readers will know what that is in the upcoming chapters :)

Anyways, I could resist myself I had to put that song in, I believe it will be Angela and Dante's theme. It has a tone of sadness yet it becomes stronger: full of hope and confidence. That DMC theme on the guitar is probably my favorite out of the anime! :D

Thank you so much for the reads, review, favorites and follows! Hope to see in the next chapter! Till next update ;)
