Vastra reached out for Jenny's hand, not wanting to part from the maid after the stressful moments before and the overwhelming feeling of what was to come. 'What's that?' Vastra looked up and around at Clara's question. She noticed that the 'tomb' was the console room of the T.A.R.D.I.S. but instead of the console being the middle focus of the room there was a bright tangle of shining white light, swirling and writhing in a column where the console would be and there is ivy growing over the railings around them and around the room.
'What were you expecting a body? Bodies are boring. I've had loads of them. Nah, that's not what my tomb is for'
'But what is the light?' Vastra couldn't keep her eyes of it, it was oddly beautiful, she felt Jenny shift next to her before speaking 'It's beautiful'
As to be expected she heard Strax speak up 'Should I destroy it?'
'Shut up Strax'
'Doctor, explain. What is that?'
'The tracks of my tears' Jenny frowned she wasn't sure she understood. She moved closer to Vastra holding tighter to her hand, she didn't like where this was going and was afraid of what was about to happen next.
'Less poetry, Doctor. Just tell them.' Simeon's voice went sent a shudder through both Jenny and Vastra
'Time travel is damage. It's like a tear in the fabric of reality. That is the scar tissue of my journey through the universe. My path through time and space from Gallifrey to Trenzalore.' The Doctor used his sonic screwdriver on the bright tangle of light and his past voices filled the room.
'Have you ever thought what it was like to be wanderers in the fourth dimension?' 'Do I have the right?' 'Daleks, Cybermen, they're still in the nursery compared to us.' 'There are corners of the universe that have bred the most dangerous things.' 'You were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.' ' I'm the Doctor. I'm from Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous' 'Hello, Stonehenge!' 'It was the daisiest daisy I'd ever seen.'
'My own personal time tunnel. All the days…Even the ones that I, er, even the ones that I haven't lived yet.'
Jenny watched as the Doctor collapsed, seeing Clara run towards him and feeling Vastra move. She tightened her grip pulling the Silurian back to her.
'No. No. Which is why I shouldn't be here. The paradoxes. It's very bad. No. No. No. What are you doing? Somebody stop him!'
'The Doctor's life is a open wound and an open wound can be entered'
'No it would destroy you'
'Not at all. It will kill me. It will destroy you. I can rewrite you every living moment. I can turn every one of you victories into defeats. Poison every friendship. Deliver pain to your every breath.
'It will burn you up. Once you go through, you can't come back. You will be scattered along my timeline like confetti'
'It matters not, Doctor. You thwarted me at every turn. Now you will give me peace, as I take my revenge on every second of your life. Goodbye. Goodbye Doctor'
Jenny watched in shock as Simeon backed into the time stream and the whisper men vanished, there was a bright flash. That's when she felt Vastra pulling away from her completely she looked towards the Doctor who was writhing in agony on the floor.
'What's wrong with him? What's happening?'
'He's being rewritten. Simeon is attacking his entire timeline. He's dying all at once. The Dalek Asylum. Androzani' Vastra's voice sounded quiet and pitiful as she looked over The Doctor's body.
'What did you say? Did you say the Dalek Asylum?' She watched Vastra look up at the light, she was afraid to take her eyes off her.
'Now he's dying in London, with us' Jenny's eyes met Vastra's she knew exactly what she was talking about, the night that the Doctor rescued her and introduced her to Vastra.
Just as Jenny was about to walk towards Vastra, Simeon's voice echoed around the room 'It is done.' The bright stream of white light quickly turned red. Jenny watched as the colour seemed to drain out of Vastra's face.
'Oh, dear Goddess'
'What's wrong?'
'A universe without the Doctor. There will be consequences. Jenny, with me' Jenny quickly followed Vastra out of the room. Noticing Vastra starting to scan the area and the sky.
'What are you scanning for?'
'Local star systems'
'Why?' Jenny turned quickly noticing Strax had also followed them outside.
'Because they're disappearing'
'Disappearing how?'
'The Doctor's timeline has been corrupted. His every victory reversed. Think how many lives that man saved. How many worlds. He saved your life when we met. Jenny?' Vastra turned round to look at Jenny smiling brightly as she remembered there first meeting. But to her horror she found Jenny to be gone 'Please, Jenny, no! Oh God, oh please, no.'
'Reptile scum' Turning fast Vastra saw Strax coming towards her. 'You are an affront to Sonaran purity. Prepare to perish!'
'We're friends. Strax, your past is changing, but I swear, we are comrades!' Vastra panicked trying to figure out how to get through to him
'Die, reptile!' Vastra started to raise her weapon, but just as she was about to knock the Sontaran out he disappeared before her eyes 'Strax! Strax!'
