(Hemlock and Patrick are two random oc's that I kind of made on the spot because scream street has so few kids XD I needed to fill the party up…Hemlock is a werehyena who lives and hides in the woods, he was born in the Underlands and escaped to Scream Street woods. Patrick is an Irish skeleton (not the undead kind, the weird monster demonic kind) who is Skully's nephew.

Also, as I've stated before, they're older teens in this.

It was a Friday night in the woods, the students had all gotten together to have a little bond fire party. Resus had brought a boombox and a party mix CD, Luella and Six brought snacks, Luke and a few other students built the bonfire, and Cleo brought a purple strobe light. So far everyone was having a lot of fun. Drinking soda's and juice's from a cooler, eating cupcakes and bags of snacks, listening to music and dancing.

Speaking of dancing, Cleo was doing a lot of that. With the various other teens there. It didn't seem too weird when Dixen spun around with her for a moment, he did have a crush on her after all. So it was expected…Even if it did give Luke an unpleasant feeling in his gut for some reason. And it wasn't unexpected that Six danced with her for a moment ether, Six was friendly, and Cleo was happy to teach. But then, Hemlock danced with her. And then Patrick. Now Billy was dancing with her, and Luke felt quite ill. Did everyone have a crush on her? Was she that pretty-yeah, yeah she was. Why was he even asking himself that, she was both one of the prettiest girls on Scream Street, and one of the few within they're age range. You didn't have to have a crush on her to know she was gorgeous.

She had beautiful blue/grey eyes, a heart shaped face, lovely features, wavy hair that could make Eefa jealous, a nice sense of style, and a nice figure, which Luke actively pretended he didn't notice.

She was an ancient Egyptian princess, and she looked like it.

And she acted like it too.

She was charming but not naïve, smart but a badass, kind hearted but won't take crap, stern but patient. Luke was convinced if she hadn't died and been mummified at age 15, she would have gone on to be one of the greatest pharos of Egypt. She would have been one of the historical figures in his textbooks.

He'd never tell her of course; her ego was big enough.

Luke leaned on a tree, drinking a soda. Cleo was on the other side of the bonfire, chatting with Luella and Six. She was smiling and chuckling about something. The glow of the fire looked so pretty on her. Luke felt a warm, fuzzy feeling in his chest, and he smiled slightly as he watched her laugh.

And then he felt panic.

He snapped his attention somewhere else, wide eyed with a flushed face.

"No, NO! I do NOT! Anyone can see she's gorgeous, and everyone knows she's amazing! It's not just me! IT'S NOT!" He yelled in his head, trying to not look like he was freaking out, even though he was.

"Ok Luke, calm down. You're freaking out over nothing. So you find her cute, it doesn't mean anything. Everyone likes her, it's just the truth. She's one of your best friends, and a mummy, you can't feel…things for her. Pff, it's not like you'd want to kiss her! Kissing her would be very unpleasant."

He looked back over at Cleo and stared. She was telling Luella something, she grinned. The werewolf whipped his attention away in a panic.

"Fuck."

Ok, maybe he wouldn't mind kissing her. Maybe it would be a pleasant experience…

The idea made him turn pink. Ok, maybe using the term maybe is a lie, and in truth he would melt on the spot if she kissed him. Actually, he'd melt if she did anything charming to him.

"No, you can't crush on her. We're not doing this. We're not! You can't risk your friendship like that, it's too important! Also she'd never feel the same. She's so far out of your league that's it's a completely different sport. She's pro football, and you're just some dude watching a game of softball… That's what Americans call kids baseball, right?" He walked over to nearby log and sat down, staring down at his drink.

"She's 4000 year old royalty, and a powerful mummy with full control over all her powers, and she looks stunning every day. You're just some random 16 year old werewolf who can't even control his powers. You stand no chance."

"and again, you don't wanna make things weird with your friend."

"Hey, what are you moping about?"

He jolted upwards, whilst he wasn't looking Cleo had walked over to him. She was staring at him with an amused smile.

"Oh, it's nothing." He chuckled, waving it off awkwardly.

"You still bummed about earlier?" She tilted her head, sitting down on the log next to him.

No, but he certainly wasn't going to tell her his actual train of thought.

"Yeah, I still feel a bit bad for nearly eating Pat." He rubbed the back of his head with

Luke looked over to said Skeleton, who was chatting with Hemlock. Pat turned his attention to the werewolf, scowled, and gave him the middle finger before going back to chatting with the were-hyena.

"You know, I think he's still mad." Luke smirked.

"He'll get over it. He's always grumpy, he makes Resus look like a ray of sunshine." The mummy joked with a smile.

"I heard that!" Resus snapped from somewhere to they're left.

"If I can just stop transforming at the drop of a hat, I'd be good." Luke frowned frustratedly.

"If we can turn a 4000 year old mummy mortal, then we can get a werewolf's powers under control." Cleo reasoned with a determined nod.

"I'd be just my luck that I never do."

"You will, you'll see." She smiled kindly.

He smiled warmly her, ignoring the butterflies in his stomach.

Most of the party guests had went home by now, the fire was just a little glint by now. Luke, Cleo, Resus, and Luella were all that was left. They were sitting, watching the fire die down whilst eating snacks. Someone had to stay and make sure the fire dies out; scream street didn't need a forest fire.

"Guys, I promised I'd be back home by 1. I gotta get going." Luella crawled off the ground, taking out her want and making a little light with it.

"See ya Luella." Cleo smiled.

Resus got up too.

"I should probably get home too. I have trouble falling asleep if I stay up too late." He added.

"Oh, I'm so glad. I didn't fancy walking home this late by myself." The witch smiled.

Resus and Luella gave a quick wave and headed back into town.

It was just Luke and Cleo now. Much to the werewolf's dismay. They sat for a moment in an awkward silence. Or at least, he thought it felt awkward.

"So…wanna play a game to pass the time?" Luke asked.

"Sure? What game?"

"Uhhh. I can't think of any actually…" the werewolf blanked.

"20 questions?" Cleo raised a brow with a smile.

"Does that count as a game?" he smirked.

"Got any better suggestions?" She crossed her arms.

"No." he responded matter-a-factly.

"Alright then. You go first." She smiled

"Uh… Favorite movie?"

"Hummm. I'm not sure. I did find a movie in Eefa's dvd bin the other day that I quite like though."

"Oh?" He raised a brow.

"It's called "I am Dragon." It's about a girl who gets kidnapped by a dragon, but she falls in love with him." She explained.

"Oh…isn't that bestiality though?" he raised a brow with a joking smile.

She playfully pushed him with a scoff. He laughed.

"No! The dragon can talk and turn human!" she explained.

"I rather say, I was worried about you for a moment." He laughed.

She rolled her eyes.

"I been into the romance movies recently, maybe it's just because there are so many I haven't seen." She smiled. "Ok, my turn. Are there any romance stories you're secretly in to?"

"Well, if I told you it wouldn't be a secret." He smirked.

"Come on, tell your local mummy girl!"

"Well…"

"I'll keep it to myself, the info won't leave this bonfire, I swear."

"Welllll, alright." He laughed with a blush. "There's this one movie my mom watches, and I kind of like it. It's some dumb romcom."

"Name?" She raised a brow.

"Run Away Bride."

"Oh, your mom lent me that one time!" She grinned.

"You've seen it!?" he snapped to look at her, turning a bit redder.

"Yeah!"

"Oh, well now just I'm embarrassed." He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"It's a pretty good movie. Didn't expect you to like it though." She chuckled, sitting on the ground and laying back on the grass.

"There are just some things I like about it, ok?" he grinned.

"Favorite scene?"

"You know, it's my turn." He raised a brow with a playful smirk.

"Answer the question." She pointed at him.

"I don't know; I guess I like the wedding rehearsal scene. It's funny."

"I like the one where she's trying on her wedding dress and she says it's like a bell. It's sweet."

"Sappiest scene in that entire film."

"It is not, shut up."

"It is. Ok, my turn. What an embarrassing you like? I promise I won't tell, if I do you have full permission to shoot me with a silver bullet." He laughed.

"I wouldn't need your permission." She responded with a cold yet casual tone.

Her tone made a shiver run up his back, but it wasn't from fear. At least, not entirely.

"Well? What's an embarrassing thing you like?" he insisted, taking a drink of his soda.

"Smut novels." She stated bluntly.

Luke choked on his soda, which as you know, is a very unpleasant sensation. He coughed in an attempt to get rid of the awful sensation in his nose and lungs.

"W-Wow!" *cough, cough* "J-just right out with it!" *cough, cough.* He attempted not to choke, staring at her wide eyed and pink faced.

She grinned at his reaction, looking up at him from the grass.

"You asked." She shrugged with a smirk.

"I know, but I didn't expect that kind of bluntness!"

"You ever tell anyone I'll throw you in the Nile with the crocodiles." She added casually, examining her bracelet.

"I doubt anyone would believe me anyways, but trust me, I won't." he laughed.

"Ok, my turn!" She sat up energetically. "Ever had a crush on anyone? Besides Eefa that is." She grinned.

"I do not, and did not, have a crush on Eefa!" Luke insisted with a grumpy look.

"Suuuure. Now answer the question." She smiled deviously.

"Alight. Well, there was this one girl at my old school…her name was Nichole…" He gave a sheepish smile, looking off to the side.

"Wellll?"

"Well what?" he looked back at her, raised a brow.

"What was she like, doofus." She laughed.

"It's not your turn to ask a question." He smirked.

"Aww, you can't not tell me what she was like!" she whined.

"Well…she was really smart, got good grades all the time. She had black hair and brown skin." He smiled as he remembered his first little crush.

"Ah. Between Eefa and Nichole, I think you got a thing for smart girls." Cleo smirked.

"Shut up, I do not!" He snapped at her, trying to hide a smile.

She laughed, not believing him at all.

"Ok, it's my turn." Luke snickered, playfully pushing his friend. The werewolf though a moment, his expression becoming troubled.

"What…was Tutancutie like?" He asked cautiously.

She was a little taken a back. They hadn't talked about him in a while. Her friend had a weird expression on his face too, like he was anxious. It's not like him to be like that, usually he was blunt as a hammer. She raised a brow at him in confusion.

"Unless it hurts too much to talk about him, of course." He quickly added after seeing her expression.

"No, no, I'm fine. You just…asked it a little bit funny." She responded.

"I thought maybe it was a sore subject..." he trailed off.

"Then why ask?"

"Cause I wanted to know." He responded quietly, avoiding her gaze, looking at the ground guiltily.

"Well, he was…kind, and smart. He was brave, but quiet and soft spoken. A bit on the shy side. He liked poetry." She smiled sweetly.

"Oh…" he mumbled with a tone that was slightly sad.

"…Why do you sound disappointed?" she raised a brow.

"I'm not! I was just responding…" he awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, his face a bit red.

Before Cleo could say anything else, Luke got up.

"The fire's fully out, lets head home." He stated, taking out his flashlight, and offering his other hand to help her off the ground.

"See, you're not her type. So let it go." He frowned to himself.

The walk home had been quiet. Cleo had tried to make conversation, but Luke didn't respond a lot. He told he was just kind of tired. She didn't quite believe that though. To her, he seemed sad.

She was preparing for bed; taking a shower, putting on PJ's, brushing teeth, ect. She couldn't quite shake off the memory of that odd exchange. He had acted so weird about asking about Tutancutie. Honestly, it was a bit weird he even asked. Yes, they were on the topic of romance and stuff, but he already knew about her past boyfriend. So why ask about him? About his personality. And then he tried to change the subject really fast.

She climbed in bed and turned off the light. But, she kept thinking about it. So, she did what she always did when confused. Write it out. She snapped up in bed and turned on her table light, then opened the drawer in the bedside table and took out her journal. She began to write it down like it was a math formula.

Luke asks about Tutan's personality.

Tutan's personality was quiet and kind.

Luke now is disappointed.

She tapped her pen on her chin.

Tutan's personality = Luke's disappointed.

Why would he care though?

Luke was disappointed by Tutan's personality. Because… they are different? Why does that matter?

"Ok, ok, Cleo, let's look at the thing that connects Luke and Tutan…which is you." She blinked in confusion.

Tutan's personality = disappointed Luke.

Tutan personality /=/ Luke's personality.

Tutan + Cleo = romance.

Therefore;

Tutan's personality = Happy Cleo.

She stared at her paper for a moment. And the pin dropped. She quickly wrote more.

Therefore;

Luke's personality /=/ happy Cleo.

Which means

Luke /=/ happy Cleo.

In other words;

Luke + Cleo /=/ compatibility.

Which meant;

Luke + Cleo /=/ compatibility = disappointed Luke.

He liked her.

"What?! No! Cleo, what are you thinking!? You're jumping to conclusions! But then again… what if you're not? And he does like you?!"

She couldn't help but smile and feel a bit giddy. Sure, a few people have had crushes on her over the hundreds of years. But because she couldn't age, she could never reciprocate them. But now, she could! This was the first time in decades that she had the opportunity to date someone! It was exciting! Of course, she had to think about how she felt about him first, and figure out whether or not he actually did have a crush on her.

She tucked her book away in her bedside table and turned off the light, rolling over to settle in for the night. She grinned to herself. Tomorrow, as Sherlock would say, the game is afoot.

Did I maybe spell Tutancutie's name wrong? Likely. Do I care? Absolutely not. XD Did I make Cleo too clever? Maybe. XD I might delete that part with her figuring stuff out, idk XD. Is it dumb that she thought about they're convo so much? Is she too observant? Let me know XD
