Chapter 19: Fast Realization And New Bonds Made
"I guess the unexpected side effect of this job has your pack acting their age again now that their fathers are back on duty." he asked and I nodded. "Yeah and the added side effect is they're now acting like a bunch of teenagers on a sugar rush. Because not only were they doing a paw version of a pillow fight, Smokey smacked them both across the head after they got into a bickering match." Sam said and they started laughing at that.
"Added issues in Hunter duty with my being the female leader of the pack, I've got to get things under control at our barbecues before they over turn the table here. While Papa wolf here has to take charge before it results in a chain reaction pillow fight." I added and they nodded with a chuckle at that. "And by the papa wolf you mean Elder Clearwater?" Tyler asked and we nodded to him as I explained that to him smiling.
"Yeah, he's the paternal leader of my pack and the third in command of their's, my uncle as his wife is my godmother. As I said the reason I came home was so I could give mom and my stepfather some private time on their honeymoon. But for dad, the adult pack and me. Father/daughter time now as we rebuild the bond since I've been gone for five years now." I said as I looked over my shoulder at the adult nine, smiling gently.
"I haven't seen my sister or my cousins and brother since I was 12, and to answer the unasked question here as well. My brother and sisters are the Black twins, Leah and Seth, while Sam, Embry, Jared and Colin are my cousins. But of eleven, I'm related to five of the young pack, while Jake is my imprint, and Quil is my cousin-in-law. And Brady, Paul and Jesse are my pack brothers, but that sums it up now and with it."
"I'm close to their parents in the pack as a result here it was this just gave a bigger reason to come home now, born here in the den, and return to the den, to the rez now. But I've known the adult and young packs for my entire life now, and I just met Edward, so no contest, I'm taken already, which explains the bracelet around my wrist. And it's a promise bracelet, intil he activates and with him our betrothal contract as well."
"But our families have been friends for 40 years and Billy, Harry and Eric were my dad's quartet when they kindergartners. Before they, Josh, Jack, Elliot and Daniel, did a blood brothers ritual to seal their bonds, but that explains my necklace. But my family, and the Uleys, Blacks and Atearas are all descended from from our first great high Chief Taha Aki. But the ten were my mother's pack, and she's just serving as councilor."
"On our side of the line, but as soon as the betrothal contract activate, we're back on the reservation, for good." I said and they nodded. "So no contest in chosen suitors if there's more than we think here to this and to get on with that. I can guess nothing he says or does, is going to change your mind when you belong to someone else already?" Bentley asked as he crossed his arms and I nodded to him as I answered him.
"Yes Sir that's right, the betrothal contract is signed and sealed, once their wolves imprint on their chosen mate. That's the marriage contract right there, I'm engaged and I belong and will always brlong to Jake. So if Edward wants to try this repeatedly, he's just asking for trouble now when I'm always surrounded by the quintet, Dave, Adam and Rick now." I told him and the eight nodded in agreement to that remark.
"Yeah that's an understatement and the coach doesn't take kindly to harassment like this, neither of them do. There a reason you got banished off of the Rez exactly?" Jessie asked and I nodded. "My grandmother Tala married a pale face 90 years ago and back then it was against tribe regulation to marry outside of the tribe. But Papa Quil's generation rescinded that decision, but we can come and go as we please."
"In my case with my returning to the reservation, I'm a junior councilor to the adult pack, and I lead the young pack as their female leader. But my job, in truth, is we're training to take over the high council, our parents are retiring in ten years. And once they do we step up to the plate and we're the next generation council leaders. As for personal family and I should tell you everyone, but here it regarding the adult pack."
"My maternal figures with mom out of the picture right now are Aunt Beth, Aunt Sue, and Aunts Sally, Anna and Jessica. I already had family when I came home, but the chance to make some real friends, when you guys figure things out yourselves. I don't have to hide from you anymore regarding this, is going to be nice. And it's because balancing it out between both sides is easier then you think later on."
"But with the packs, it's because I know what needs to be done and it's easier now than it was before. I was looking forward to coming home ever since I got the news here, but the chance to make some new friends and be with my own kind, that's even better now. Remember our joking banter, before lunch you two, this is what I meant, I fit in better with you than the kids in Phoenix." I said and he nodded as she thought it over softly.
"Papa Quil?" she repeated and I nodded. "Yeah when I was born, I, every time I saw Quil's grandfather, I started calling him grandpa. But our parents consider each of us their Cubs along with their own. That's the way it is in a pack of wolves here, as a pack, we're family, but wolves, she wolves, omegas and imprints. But that's our family right here now." I said and Jake wrapped his arms around my shoulders at that smiling.
"Though I grew up in the city, I preferred small town life, but if he asks this question its I'm telling him the truth that the reason I moved here. Is because I have family here, and I'm taking up my family legacy, regarding things and I know you thought of his as a weirdo at the time all this time. Acting like no one was good enough for him in us girls, well it's because he's looking for the right one at the moment here."
"It's not that I'm leery of him, because he's acting like a jerk right now, it's because our clans have this deep seated rivalry and we know what the other is on sight. Because of their eyes and body language, it's like Romeo and Juliet right now, or the Outsiders. But I choose my own kind, he's acting like the rich kids and I, or rather we, are from the next two ranks down here." I said and she nodded as Angela looked at me softly.
"So why did he freak out last week when you came into the lab exactly." she asked and I sighed. "Have you ever heard the term La Tua Cantante?" I asked and they shook their hands. "It's Italian, it means singer, that story I told you earlier regarding those maniacs, they're cannibals with a taste for human blood. This term is for the one who's blood sings to the one who he's looking for as a mate, as such, when he flipped out last week."
"After I stepped in front of the fan, that did it, I was who he was looking for and he's fighting his natural instincts. His original girl friend was living in Denali, but he's attracted to brunettes, in which case, and though he could hear your thoughts. He was looking for someone who wasn't interested in being his girlfriend at all. And I fit every standard, but I'm taken already, but he's after me for dating rights, right now at the moment."
"But that's going turn into a real case of boy trouble right now, because I belong to Jake and he's going to be trying to play the 'all's fair in love and war' card. So that's why Paul is transferring here, to be my bodyguard now and with it. Once the crazy jealousy hits, get ready for the repeated problems." I said and they nodded as she answered me at that remark as they exchanged looks at thst remark as she said it for all of them.
"Didn't you say he was a lion and you're a wolf?" she asked and I nodded. "Yeah and I'm marrying my own kind, but he's a lion, I'm a wolf, lions with lions, wolves with wolves. To put this bluntly this is what I meant by the Outsiders and what started the grudge match in the first place. But I'm not having it, we're happy with being middle class or a bit lower, it's not the looks of the money, it's the imprint, Reddy imprinted on me."
"And nothing can break an imprint, no matter how hard he tries nothing is taking me away from Jake. Jake got to me we saw each other the weekend I moved back to forks before he ever met me. And Reddy imprinted on me early, so he doesn't have a chance once he tries to fix his behavior when he gets back." I told her and she nodded as her eyes narrowed and she said it for all of them as the quintet exchanged looks.
"Yeah well I..., oh for gods sakes here, alright would the fact that you know so much about this be connected to why they're apprehensive when it came to the Cullens. You know what they are and why he's getting ready to tell us these legends, they're all true. We got a bunch or trio of type two hunters running loose out there and the adult pack reactivated while you're activating one by one." Angie said sharply and I sighed softly.
"Angie I can't tell you that, I've been forbidden by my paternal alpha, it's against the tribal regulations. Do you remember the rules on the tv show, the first being they can't tell anyone who they really are here." I said and she sighed as Eric said. "Yeah we do, but taking guesses would be a good way to jump that in a loophole at the moment. But it doesn't matter to us what you are, if you said you had the heart of a wolf now Bells."
"And we really don't care if that last piece is true or not, it doesn't matter, but if this is the deciding factor between us. Then it's fine, we don't care what you are, if this was what you were hiding from us, and why Sam, Jared and Paul changed in appearance in just three years. We don't care, so with that at the moment, if this added piece to it, is the more dangerous portion of the secrets at the moment now guys we get that."
"You're trying to protect us from the dangerous side of your world, if said dangers include the story you just told us. I understand that, but in order for us to understand we need to see this for ourselves, in your cases now. If you call yourselves a pack and have been spending every day after school with them, I'm guessing my seeing Orangie at the window is connected to why Elder Denali is wearing that color shade in his shirt."
"If Jess is his cub he's going to be looking like Elder Denali is four years?" Eric said and I sighed as I looked at my godfather. "Dad, they busted us, what now?" I asked and the ten sighed. "We don't have a choice now, we have to tell them the truth now, if it means protecting Josh, Daniel and Eric. We don't have a choice now in this at the moment. Shadow, Brown and Cocoa, are to dark to see from a few dozen yards, here."
"To be mistaken for a grizzly bear." Aunt Beth said to me and Billy nodded in agreement. "Alright kids, we're what you're thinking, every time you saw us when your father took you scouting in the woods. But in truth the reason you saw us change in apearance in just a few years and our tribe symbols on our shoulders. But we're the pack of over sized wolves you saw, I'm the adult cherry red who walked up to you Michael back then."
"If you guys want the truth then come to my house this Saturday and you're seeing us on Hunter duty for real kiddo. As I said until Renee fixes my spine, I can't, and he's got six weeks before he reactivates, because he needs a trip to see a cardiologist first." Billy said and the entire room looked at us and the Cullens in shocked amazement. "Adult cherry red, I saw a cherrywood furred adult wolf in the wood 7 years ago when I was tracking."
"And he walked right up to me and my son and gave him a gentle nudge with his head, that was you Billy?" Mr. Newton said in shock and he nodded. "We were scouting the woods for anymore of the guards that just barely put my daughter in the hospital." Dad said firmly and the faculty looked at my uncles and aunt in shock at that. "You're not serious, you're the adult pack, Billy?" Bentley asked in shock and they nodded.
"You remember his remark to Jack after I told him he dropped in at lunch, over grown fuzzball?" I added and they nodded. "Yeah I do but you said that was Orangie how could he come by unless..." Anderson started to say and I nodded. " Yeah that was Jack you were looking at Coach, he was acting human in his responses to me. But that's because he was Orangie, Orangie is his spirit wolf." I said and they nodded in amazement to that.
"Every time you saw the adult pack and wondered why the guys suddenly disappeared on you. You were really looking at the nine themselves when you were kids coach, and dad just figured that out himself. But as I'm the female leader of the pack we're telling you the truth. But the ten and their wolves, are one and the same, so you see the guys, if the adult pack is standing there, you're really looking at the ten themselves."
"Just as their furry selves." I said and passed the photograph of me with them when I was seven over and she looked at it. "So that's you with the council leaders themselves, you said your mother already knows, so she's the adult omega, and you're her cub?" Henderson asked and I nodded to them. "Yes Sir, but that explains my bracelet, it's a pack bonding bracelet, to the rest of the adult pack." I said and he looked at my wrist.
"When I was a toddler my telepathy was a little out of whack so they could hear what I was thinking the entire time, as I was growing up. But I've known since I was newborn. Matching their voices to their wolves as I grew up, that explains this picture I drew when I was five." I said as I passed the one I created of the ten when we were kindergartners to him and he looked at it with a gentle look on his face at that explanation.
"I take it the boys were figuring that out as you all remembered these things?" she asked and the three of us nodded. "Yeah they used to babysit us as their wolves when their mothers were getting groceries, with my dad, we had the adult pack looking after us. But knowing the guys were cub versions, I couldn't care less that they're wolves, coach, because I've seen them like this since I was a baby." I said and they nodded, bemused.
"I said he seemed almost human with you, like a father with his daughter and it turns out he was, you're his adopted daughter." Carlisle said in shock and I nodded. "I am, in truth, their pack helped my parents raise me, but that's why I came home. That portion I told you, regarding why I came home, it wasn't a lie, but the second the guys activated as did I at the time, but I'm an omega, and in a werewolf pack as well but here it is."
"The omega is the human leader of the pack and the most important thing in the world to them. But the imprints are their everything, the omega their world, and together we make up their entire life now as a result here. I moved back to take up my legacy, 2) to reconnect to my father and paternal pack, as well as Aunt Beth and, finally. Just give mom and my stepfather some privacy during their honeymoon, they just got married."
"A few weeks ago at the time and with them about to go on the road, I chose to return here to Forks and begin my legacy in our family. Those remarks regarding this in the pack's case are not just a metaphor anymore Sir. Though in a wolf body, they still act like themselves, so though you hear gentle growls from them, I can understand everything they say, because every noise, growl, whine, etc, they make is translated, in words."
"In their voices, he was telling me Aunt Beth was returning and was checking in on us in case we had a stray predator coming out of the forest earlier today. That was his response to me, by wrapping his head around my shoulder." I said and he nodded. "So what was his touching his forehead to yours exactly?" Bentley asked and he explained that. "To fuse the connection between a wolf and his omega, we have to fuse our link."
"She can communicate to us in both ways here, but that was to fuse her bond to me in both areas, mentally and spiritually." Jack said and I finished that. "But these guys are the size of a buffalo. My pack is the size of a two year old colt, we're in training, but that's why they lost their tempers, a bit ago." I said and they nodded. "So the boys and duo were you guys when we were kids?" Anderson asked and the ten nodded to her.
"We are, in truth the kids are matched to their adult version, Leah to Beth, Bella to Renee, and the boys to the nine of us. But Embry is the exception to the rules the ten are hereditary, he's got his own color. But I'm the adult alpha as she said its alpha, beta alpha's third, Alpha's fourth and secondary Beta, that's the five of us. But you remember what name she called my wolf?" he asked and they all nodded to him as Newton said it.
"She called him Red, so you're Red, you're the adult reddish brown I saw hunting in the woods ten years ago. Yeah alright we can take that, so every time we have these cold ones running loose in our territory. Than we have you activating at the exact same time to protect us, but if they, the Cullens, are already here. Than who's doing the killing here?" Newton asked quickly and I told him the truth then as I looked at the sextet.
"Remember when I said look at their eyes?" I asked and he nodded. "The Cullens have gold eyes and they're already here. But as I explained it now, gold eyes animal blood, red eyes human and the seven are already here, so who does that leave to cause the possibility of my cousin activating next. Because Sam dropped out of college when the quintet came back, and when Alice and Jasper arrived we: Jared, Paul and I were next."
"So with that, if this continues for the next year to fifteen months now, then who does that leave. To cause my brothers and Leah to start phasing one by one now?" I asked and they exchanged looks as my coach answered that. "That gene activates the second that..., aw god, please tell me what you just told us, regarding your injuries when you were ten, baby, wasn't true honey." Anderson said quickly, looking at me gently.
"I can't Coach, every word of it is, that bite mark on my wrist was because I was nearly killed by a trio of red eyes when the quartet and I were kids. The Cullens, and we, are working as partners, they protect humans from our homicides. Mom already established the new rules regarding their hunting now, and that's what we were talking about outside guys, but that's why I said that regarding this at the moment."
"As an omega, my scent is five times stronger than yours, to the leadership they get a scent of it and they know my bloodline is back on the loose. That's why the sextet were in the woods last night, they were looking for the trio. But the sextet are trying to protect me, and everyone else by hunting them down. This trio we're looking for are nomads, they're not bound by the rules, but it's illegal to hunt humans in our areas."
"But our territory is from here to the Canadian border, but here, Seattle, Port Angeles and straight to the Washington/Oregon border. As to why they chose this area, they fit in better here with us pale faces, though I'm half and half. But this was their original settlement and our, the sextet and my grandmother, made the treaty. But if you wish to hear our legends, regarding the cold ones, and my tribe regarding our history."
"And our histories with each other, how we met and when here, than you have to agree to non disclosure, now okay. Because if the leadership finds out that you know what they are, and it's going to destroy the entire town. So trade secret, you keep our secret and we can protect you now, okay. That group I mentioned, the leadership, sent three scouts to check and they attacked us, as to why exactly now here at the moment."
"To a red eye, they get a whiff of my scent and it's going to cause them to zero in on me, because my bloodline, the Tala Marquez bloodline. Mine is the strongest human one in the entire tribe. To prevent the fact that my clan was back, I ordered the guys to kill the trio, before I collapsed." I said and they nodded angrily at that. "That's why you look like this, you're a vampire Carlisle?" Dr. Crowley asked him firmly and they all nodded to her.
"That's also why I'm furious at the moment, learning my patient got targeted by the guard of my old friend. She doesn't care I'm a vampire, because to her I'm the good one, not the bad. It's like that Scifi show, Stargate SG-1, when they were dealing with the offshoot, we're the Tokra, and the red eyes are the real thing. I'm furious at this, if I have to destroy anymore guards to protect her, I will." Carlisle said and they nodded firmly.
"She decided I'm her PCG, she doesn't care I'm a vampire or our family is, because with us, the act of your patient having an above average body temperature. And with it the two female in the pack have temporarily lost their ability to mate is strange enough. And along with extremely fast healing abilities and their pack can't come to you or Eric, so they have me as their medical doctor as to that right now at the moment."
"And to answer you, yes, and it's why she gave us a way to keep total control when around your children with my kids in school. Look we're not like others of our kind, we hunt animals and learned to control it, but our homicides are the ones doing the killing. We'd never hurt a human, your children are safe with my kids here, in case they try to attack the school." he said and they nodded as Mr. Newton answered him at that remark.
"So what she told us regarding biology and your eyes was true?" he asked and they nodded. "Yes it's true, animal blood has less hemoglobin then human, after an extended diet of animal it shifts the color from blood red to reddish orange. And then to the tinge you see in our eyes now. But the newborns, they're out of control once they get started, so with that, it's we got to go hunting the second we start here at the moment."
"But that's why we're going to a new diet plan now, regarding this, since we used to go hunting at night, but she decided we bottle it and start eating lunch like you do. And you're seeing that tomorrow, because we're starting tonight." Rose said to him gently. "I know I'm going to regret asking this next question, but how the heck did you get turned into one honey?" Bentley asked and she sighed as she answered him then.
"It happened because of our quartet of young adult rapists Coach, only it was 80 years ago, and I..." she said and I said it for her. "Her fiancé was showing off to his friends and they attacked her, as you know back then. It's we didn't have the medical care we do now and she bled to death, but Carlisle turned her to keep her alive. Emmett was mauled by a bear and Edward himself was dying of the Spanish flu." I said and they nodded, bemused.
"I'm guessing your connection to them, has them telling you what happened here, because of your telepathic link?" Newton asked and we nodded. "Yeah that's it exactly, in Jasper's case it was during the civil war and you're learning that in history class. That is if you're wondering why there was a strange case of deaths at the time back then. And it's a reference needed to what we have coming up next year, but in Carlisle's case."
"He's right, they're not dangerous to humans, but fresh exposed blood, like say the kind that some guy could cause. Especially if they get ticked we turn them over to you and the administration for a health violation is exactly the type of injury, coach. That's what I'm trying to head off and Mr. Wallace that's where you come in, if that happens it's washing the infected area, immediately, and it's disinfectant, so 3/4's bleach."
"Or rubbing alcohol, to 1/4 water, it masks the stench, so I'm making this as easy as possible on them right now, but they're keeping themselves always fed. But pay attention to what you're doing in class alright, in regarding the razors. And scalpels with us about to run autopsies on rodents. You need to focus, and stop screwing around with the silverware, alright." I said and the council's all nodded as Rose took it from there.
"As to why it's like a shark feeding frenzy, we get a scent of fresh human blood it makes it next to impossible to stop. The four of us and our parents have had years to control it, he's just recently switched blood types and is learning to. With her being the most aromatic scent we've come into contact with since. She's decided to mask her scent by the boys and their fathers, as well as Coach Clearwater, to protect herself now."
"So though we can smell her scent, it's over shadowed by their's and we can focus now, once the duo and Paul start school and work here. Than it's the same for all of you as well I promise, we're not going to hurt anyone, so now that you know, we can be ourselves with you now, okay." she said and my friends all nodded as Emmett finished it with the next remark as he rested his hand on my back gently as I touched his hand.
"Guys, to work this out you better start doing that three times a day, so you don't just act human, you still have your humanity by everything else. And with it, it's acting like a normal human, eating three times of day, exercise and so on, alright." I said and the sextet nodded. "So we have several bottles in the morning, and eat normal human food, before school, do it again at lunch and again at dinner, yeah okay Bells."
"We have to get used to eating human food again, though once we do we're raiding the frigerators between meals again here." Jasper said and I chuckled and nodded. "As it is at the moment, I..., yeah alright if this resulted in breaking the rules. And I'm giving an example here, but a human/vampire hybrid. It's they can live off of both and once after seven years they reach full maturity here if we had it going through the whole thing."
"It's not very common, because the Volturi hunted them to extinction, but there's several still out there keeping a low profile. In your case, you better start acting like them now guys, so you can act human without exposing yourselves to the ones not in this room right now." I told them and they nodded. "Just where the heck did you learn that from exactly?" Tyler asked and I chuckled as I answered him gently as I said it to him.
"These characters, to put this gently think Blade here, these hybrids have all the knowledge regarding destroying the red eyes. But they leave their gold eye counterparts alone, because they're protecting humans, but gold eyes, wolves and these hybrids are the biggest threat to the Volturi. Because we're the ones standing up to them, but though their not very common, that still a real danger here to these guys."
"But my training is more along the lines of knowing the biology and weaknesses in these guys and as I said it takes a fair amount of science to understand this stuff. So they do the hunting, it's my job to act as peace keeper and preventing them from finding out another human, or humans, just found out." I said and they nodded. "You're right that's not common, but not uncommon either, because they have been keeping a low profile."
"And at the moment, but that's why they tried to wipe out your bloodline, Tala's bloodline, but that's why probably you ordered the guys to exterminate the trio that attacked you. They found out and reported back it was going to put the town at risk here, and I don't blame you at the moment either. But you heading to the woods out night without the guys was still dangerous, if you need us to protect you we're fine with that."
"But if whoever was a real one saw a hybrid if they were still a child would think that we turned a human child. We just have to make sure this never happens though and while I'm at it, boys, if we want to keep a low profile. And make sure we're not exposed to anyone else it's by not over doing it in public." Carlisle said and I sighed. "Yeah well Edward just barely exposes you next Carlisle, by stopping the van that lost control."
"Because the roads were slick." I said and they nodded in shock. "Alright who the heck was speeding in this weather, we've told you guys a hundred times. That when there's black ice all over the parking lot, get chains on those tires and slow it down?!" Bentley said sternly and I sighed. "You better wait on that answer Coach, because you're learning that after he gets back." I told him and he nodded as he looked at me at that remark.
"Added secrets in addition to supernatural characters here kiddo, because if there's more than we as the ones now in the know deserve to know this." Henderson said and I nodded. "Yeah it's a long story Coach, but the added side effect of the paranormal, is that's an unseen item attacked to it. And said item is a case of playing with the past and history lessons, and I'll explain later." I said and they nodded as he looked at the book.
"I'm guessing that the information is connected to that book sitting next to you, if this is not the you we'd expect, but some other piece none of us were expecting. We're better off learning that now, rather then later, young lady." Anderson said bemused and I nodded. "Alright, in some cases the spirits have an act of playing with the space time continuum, but think Back to the Future mixed with Underworld guys, as to why here."
"I got commed by my adult self, of 17 years into the future, telling me I could fix a few things here, regarding my pack and keep us, guys, together for good." I said and Tyler slammed his hand on the table as he said it with a growl. "You decided to change our future by coming back to this past week. Before Cullen laid eyes on you, you're half wolf, Jake is one and you chose you're own kind, human and wolf, as to why."
"It's illegal to mate with a vampire if these hybrids are the result, and two, because they find out that you, and we, found out that you're a vampire guys that could kill the entire county, and your parents and tribe. So to prevent whatever was coming in our future, you chose to see the packs first, tell us you're engaged. And get Cullen out of town till we figured this out, right?" he asked and I nodded as I answered him gently at that.
"Yeah and now that all of you do, I can be myself with you, but this me is what I was like after I was beginning to heal after he took off on me in my timeline. I just want a chance at a normal life, but with them, and you nothing changes, because I never laid eyes on him till after I saw the guys and their fathers. The guys got to me first and I'm now permanently a wolf mate after that." I said and they nodded gently to me at that.
"So with the fact that the guys and Leah are more human and are like us, you don't have to hide things with us figuring it now?" Anderson asked and I nodded to her. "You better get that under control, though I catch you eating any junk food, before dinner and you're really going to get it boys and I mean that." Esme said in answer to that as she squeezed his shoulder and he nodded as Emmett answered her at that remark as I chuckled.
"With us being fully fed now, no loss of control and we can get involved in sports and activities. Though the biology and blood typing in two weeks, that's the added catch though here. Whatever she told you he's got to skip out on, but that doesn't mean he's cutting class, and he's doing blood types from the library." Emmett said for Carlisle and they nodded to him as I finished that remark as I looked at him and Jasper gently.
"The duo and I are building the bonds I have with you guys right now, boys, it's the same with Rose and Alice, in your case girls. Truth of the matter is I've been working on making sure I spend equal time with all of you, so full balance. I'm a libra, so I'm trying to balance my life out between the normal and paranormal right now. And having friends and family in all three species is exactly that now." I said and they nodded to me softly.
"I know they class your kind as monsters, but you seem practically human right now you guys." Tyler said and they nodded. "The only reason you never figured it out before was because we were keeping ourselves to near human standards all this time. But once you see us on the baseball field, or the basketball court get ready for the added side effects Ty', because you'll know we aren't human." Jasper said and I finished that remark.
"It didn't matter to me what the sextet are, but that other piece to the story is next in what we have to tell you. But I don't want anything to do with Edward, once he starts getting crazy jealous here, the marriage contract is signed and sealed, I belong to Jake. The sextet know this, because we've been talking this over since he's been out visiting their relatives in Denali." I said and the coaches and my sextet nodded as he said it.
"So what are the side effects of being a wolf or a vampire in this case?" Eric asked and I explained that. "All of your senses are heightened, by that I mean sight, smell and hearing, and they're three times stronger and faster than we are. But that turns deadly with the nomads, because we can't fight them or out run them, us humans. And that's what killed our lost six locals, this trio is the reason we lost six people in two months."
"It was after I realized this that I told the adult pack to reactivate, because the guys and I are in training and our parents have been at it for 30 years. They know what they're doing and between them and the Cullens together. There's no likely chance of them killing someone in the school because they try to attack us kids and they're getting torn apart. With my link to the pack I can call the sextet here and that ends it in 15 minutes."
"Because vampires know in their vulnerabilities, so four good vampires and ten adult wolves it ends in less then ten minutes, because as I said. The only way to kill a vampire is tearing them apart and burning the pieces, but it would take werewolf or a vampire to do it. But everything we see in the movie isn't true, my pack are shape shifters, but it's the added gene defense, but vampires have 25 pairs of chromosomes, wolves have 24."
"And we have 23, it's takes a fair amount of biology to understand this and knowing your opponent in these cases." I said and they nodded to me. "Well I can see you're going to become my best student if you're this good in biology Bella. You told me you took this in the case of the advanced courses in Phoenix, so between what your mother taught you and that biology class, that covers this?" Banner asked and I nodded to him gently.
"She's our contact with their tribe here, but to her it doesn't matter what we are, and the same is said for her father. So long as we can protect her that's all he cares about now, with the four of us stationed here at the high school. It's enough we can protect your children from the red eyes, and we can police the halls. So acting as your hall monitors in case our class mates lose it finally." Jasper said and Emmet added on to it gently.
"Alright everyone, this is not getting out all over the student body, we don't need everyone knowing what it is we are alright. So it's just you, coach, Sir, it's just the administration and the junior/senior class councils, alright." Emmett added firmly and they nodded. "I take it you're the oldest in the family, son?" Carlisle asked and he nodded. "Edward was created first, I'm 23 years old if I was still human, he's 17."
"But in order it was him, Rose, me, Alice and Jasper, but the duo were newly added to the family, we're his children for real. By blood and venom, we're his children, the five of us were the five that the pack encountered 90 years ago. Before Tala met us, and she enforced the rules given, but she, Bella has more power than the entire council regarding our fate now." he said and Mike said it for his father at that remark as he looked at him.
"So everything she told us regarding you was true, she knows what you are and it's because her grandmother had an encounter with the five of you. And just after their grandfathers did?" he asked and he nodded. "Yeah it's true, but she doesn't care what we are, all she sees is us, that was our conversation at lunch. Before we got into the school council meeting just as Thompson launched that fork across the room."
"It doesn't matter to her what we are, human, vampire, werewolf, all she sees is us, but that's why we had that conference earlier, Charlie told us he knows how as well, and to Charlie. It's he said the same, so long as we can protect her and everyone else in the high school that's all he cares about. With our parents they can protect the adults, but with close to 800 kids in this school, we're now protecting you from the red eyes."
"But like she said be careful when it comes to injuries, Jasper is a red eyed turned gold eye, he hasn't mastered the control yet. So that's why she recommended our new regime for my quintet." he said and they nodded. "If this had some unforeseen side effect, everyone in the group, our future selves, is coming right to you later for a clarification on that Em'." Angie said and I nodded in agreement to that as he said it, bemused at that.
"Yeah that's an understatement, because once you guys see us in action you'll know we aren't human." he said and I smiled at him. "With the fact that to them the pack smells of wet dog, so though my blood calls to him specifically, Edward I mean. I have them, my packs to mask the stench now, so if they're always around me that helps and it's blocking the smell pretty easily regarding the quintet." I said and they nodded to me at that.
"So if the duo, Coach and Elder Clearwater are standing right behind you at the field you just mentioned, it's masking your scent from our trio of homicides?" Dr. Crowley asked and I nodded. "Yeah with three wolves in the school one always around us, and two more around us in class and the cafeteria it's going to overwhelm the aroma of 275 people in the cafeteria or gym during a game." I said and the faculty all noddded to that one.
"So Paul being here is covering up your scent and ours when the trio are always around us next year, alright this is getting ridiculous. The trio are in our graduating class so three gold eyes and a werewolf pup now, alright what's next: a witch or a ghost?" Mike asked and they chuckled as Sam answered him. "We're Cubs, but yeah that's right Mike, in truth this is our teenager stage, if you want to see us if we were stuffed animals."
"Our parents bought her our entire pack in stuffed wolf form, but they're us as Cubs." he said and he nodded. "So you're Smokey, who are Brownie and Twister exactly?" she asked and he smiled. "With the fact school's out for the day and no one else, but us is on the property right now. Come with us okay." he said and they nodded as we lead them onto the outdoor picnic area and the quintet all phased at once in front of us.
"Whoa, Sam?" Jessie asked and he nodded and nudged her in the shoulder and she smiled at that as I pulled him into a hug. And his eyes closed as they heard him start purring at that and chuckled at that as they were watching him press his forehead to mine they smiled at that. "To answer the unasked question, as wolves, this is how they act around their imprints and omega, like an oversized cat, at the moment."
"They like to brush against us like this, as to why it's because their wolves act like cats when it comes to this. In the guys it's the act of their brotherly and before I heard two gentle growls come out from the tree line. And turned to see Paul and Jared run out then as they moved next to their adult versions as Sam did the same and they smiled at that as they looked at their bracelets as the do ran up to me and Paul nudged my shoulder.
"Hey guys, just get out of practice now?" I asked and they both nodded to me with smiles in their eyes as Paul nudged me in the stomach. "Alright we're not doing that again, we can play later okay." I said and he lowered his head, before I gave him a hug and he started purring. Hearing that, the sextet started laughing at that. "I take it he wanted to play tag if you said that, Bells?" Eric asked me with a smile and I nodded to him.
"Since I got back, he's been acting like a seven to nine year old in playing out-door games, just in wolf mode here. But our bond of brother and sisterhood kicked back into place, they're my trio actually, but for now its us, Leah and Sam and soon enough Hurricane joins the pack after that. The five of us were first born and the oldest of the pack, so she's learning the basics before she activates." I said and they nodded to me.
"Alright Twister and Hurricane, Brownie and Smokey and then comes Reddy, yeah alright got it." he said and they nodded to that. As Jared moved to me as well, he pressed his forehead to mine. "Love you too, brother." I said and pressed my forehead to his and he closed his eyes at that softly. Before I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his head around my shoulder purring softly and the adults all smiled at that gently.
"Blue and turquoise, Bella who are the duo exactly?" Dr. Crowley asked and I smiled. "It's Paul and Jared actually, Doctor, the quintet I'm related to, by blood and adoption are the quartet, but Uncle Adam is also connected to me. On dad's side, but I have just enough to move back there. We're making an alteration to my bracelet, but to match my necklace, but it's the Blacks, Clearwaters, Uleys, Truehearts, Lehotes and Denalis."
"So with that my place is wolf and human and this is where I belong." I said and Emmett finished. "But Edward is the only one in the family who's prejudiced against the pack, here." he said and she nodded as he pushed Paul, who looked back at him with a playful smile in his eyes at that and he pushed him back. Watching this Elliot and Carlisle looked at the duo with bemused smiles on their faces as I looked at the girls and Jasper.
"Alright now I think they started something as the guys are just as strong as you are right now. With you close to human standards at the moment." I said to the trio and they nodded in agreement to that. Just before it started going back and forth between them as their fathers exchanged looks at this. "Uh oh, alright break it up boys, we're on school grounds, so you break it, you buy it." Dad said and they nodded to him at that.
"It's too bad you're not going to be here next year Rose, Em'." I said and he smiled gently at that as I leaned against his shoulder and he looked at me with a smile. "I take this is what you guys were like together in this supposed altered future?" Mike asked and we nodded. "Yeah and now I have my entire life all balanced out, human, wolf, vampire, completely balanced now that you know." I said and he nodded with a smile as I said it.
"The quintet themselves are the quartet here and Edward, they were the ones that met my grandmother and the sextet. But I'm the only one who can control the guys in wolf mode. Hey Uncle Josh, you guys do yours now, so they can see you in case Mr. Newton or the trio bumps into you again." I added and they nodded as they walked into the under brush and came out five minutes later and they looked at them in amazement then.
"Whoa, you guys are the size of a buffalo Elder Uley, Elder Cameron." Mike said in shock and I chuckled at that. "Trust me I'm used to this, but that's Jack over there." I said and he turned his head to see Jack standing there in front of them. "Alright now I definitely know that's Orangie if this is why he dropped in at lunch to see us at the time." Malcolm said with a bemused smile as Anderson looked at Jack with a slight smile at this.
"Hey Orangie, nice to see you again." Anderson said with a chuckle and he wolf chuckled. "So I take it if they were this size, than to a ten year old, a 7 to 8 foot tall werewolf is huge." Clapp said and I started laughing as I nodded. "Dustin Hoffman's remark in Hook, yeah that would be it exactly coach." I said smiling, and they nodded as Jack moved to me and pressed his forehead to mine and they smiled at response then.
As I the wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his head around my shoulder as I heard a gentle purring from him. "I take the purring is their way of saying 'I love you' Bella. With the fact their in wolf form and can't speak right now?" Eric asked and I nodded to him to answer his question then. "Yeah and like I said, since I got back seeing the nine like this has turned completely normal now and to me, they're not dangerous at all."
"But you're fine so long as you never tick them off, I'm mean that as in murderous rage tick them off, because that happens they're going to phase right in front of you. But that happens get ten feet out of range if you're standing in front of them. In the case of Sam, Leah and the guys, in the adult pack, it's fifteen feet as they got a much farther reach. But standing at their side or right behind them is the best way to go here, okay."
"And before you ask how I know that, it's I've seen this five to ten times when I was seven to ten years old after some idiotic red eye got to close to us. And I watched dad and the sextet let him have it by phasing on the fly." I said and they all nodded. "Phasing on the fly, what's that?" Eric asked and I watched as Adam demonstrated that as I watched him shift from his human form and right into his wolf and smiled.
As he walked up to me and nudged my head with his and I wrapped my arms around his neck smiling. "Yeah I know Uncle Adam and don't worry, just short of two weeks the sense is back in place, and nothing's ever getting between us. It's too late for Edward, I'm a wolf girl, I belong to Jake and that's my final remark on the subject." I told him and he nodded with a smile in his eyes as he wrapped his head around my shoulder in response.
"Whoa, so that's what you mean?" Mike said with impressed amazement and I nodded. "Yeah and that's going to be Jake next year, he's got it on both sides of the family, and for Reddy, something ticks him off when it comes to me. Get ready for the practical demonstration later." I said and they nodded. "So this you when you were around the adult pack growing up?" Anderson asked and I nodded as I answered her smiling.
"Yeah Coach, that photo may be ten years apart, but nothing's changed in our cases and nothing's going to change, it's not what they are, but they do that makes a difference. Like the Cullens, sure they're vampires, but it's living style, they either choose to use their abilities to help people. Case in point is Carlisle being an M.D., or they choose to abuse their abilities and hurt others and they all chose the former in this case."
"That includes their relatives in Denali, but as gold eyes they're dedicated to protecting others. Although a recently turned red eye is highly dangerous as they put them through training until they can control their abilities. I'm just saying this now, but when around Jazz as he's a red eye turned gold eye, keep your chin tucked and never expose your throat, if he hadn't had his lunch and I'm not kidding here right now."
"Your neck gives of your scent so easily that one whiff, it's having them going after you in tracking in the case of the nomads, understand." I said and the officers involved all nodded as the trackers did the same. "Just a humanoid formed version of a bloodhound, Bells?" Dad asked and I nodded to him before I felt a nudge in the back and turned around to see an adult version of Leah standing behind me and I grinned at that.
"Hey Aunt Beth, it's good to see you like this again." I said and gave her a hug and she wrapped her head around my shoulder with a gentle purring growl and pressed her forehead to mine and they smiled at that. "So that's Beth huh, so Goldie is goldish brown, she's sand colored with blond streaks in her fur, yeah okay got it, alright you two, if this is what going on on the campus, whoever starts something is in big trouble."
"But if you want to do this in watching over the kids when they're outside I'm fine with that, just try not to do a show and tell to often okay." Carlisle said and they both nodded to the request. "With them here I got link to the rest of the pack, but we have the trio come onto the campus or a stray predator. Then get ready, because the fights intense, so basically think wolverine and Victor Creed, AKA, Sabretooth here, and with that."
"The guys are shape shifters, so fast healing, like I said in biology class you need to have a fair sense of biology for this type of thing. But you remember X-men?" I asked and they all nodded as they got it and I sighed and handed over the book and gave it to Carlisle. "Here's the rest of the truth, I'm not who you think I am guys, everything you've seen and dealt with regarding our bonds is because I changed our history."
"Starting from my first day of school and up to today, the first ones to get to me were my pack and mom's pack. Before Edward laid eyes on me last week, you notice how open I am and was with all of you this week. But us getting playful with each other, how we're now calling each other brother and sister?" I asked and they nodded as Tyler rested his hand on my arm as he said it for all of them as he looked at me gently at that.
"That's why, we met in your timeline and at first you were still too nervous to relax around us, but not anymore. So by telling us you're engaged that ends several things and opened up the door to our getting playful with each other. Alright, I want the entire story and this can be considered a case of fiction too. So us members in the know, we know the truth and to others, they see it as a supernatural romance novel now."
"But how many pieces to that storyline are there exactly because we need them all?" he asked and I gave him the first. "That's this semester, whoever wrote the story had them spaced out a year apart. But in this time it's gone werewolf, I'm not choosing sides here, I choose both sides and we stay together, for good now. I'm not letting this, letting you, go now, I'm not giving you guys up now." I said and their eyes softened at that remark.
"In all honesty the reason I relaxed that fast with you and Coach Anderson, Coach, is because you reminded me of Uncle Jack and Aunt Beth, you're the human version of them. In this case, just one week makes a difference and as a result here, you've seen what the gang and I are like together after that one week. As demonstrated in the cafeteria just after Emmett chucked the snowball into the cafeteria door."
"In one case or another someone starts something it's going to get crazy, but your responses are what I remember with them when I was a ten year old cub. That playful exchange between us after Coach Clapp came into the cafeteria Sir." I said and he hid a chuckle at that as he answered me. "Don't take this the wrong way, but what's the added reason in her case if she came home?" Angie asked and I smiled as I said it to her.
"She's the omega's personal bodyguard, but the Clearwaters were taxed with my protection, as the omega and the future wife of the high chief. The next high chief, but in their case it's they're my mother's best friends, in mine my aunt and uncle and for Seth and Leah, my brother and sister. Sue was my godmother, Billy my godfather. And with that, when I'm not with you guys, I'm with them and an added side effect here."
"Is if we want to head to P.A. as a group, I've got the guys and Leah, once she activates with us. Mom's orders, so we go out of town with the trio on the loose, we got to take the guys, aside from Edward, but the guys, Rose, Alice and Leah with us, okay." I said and their parents nodded. "Not a bad idea, with you guys three times stronger then we are, that's plenty of protection now for seven teenagers with 4 of each group honey."
"Your mother is the high counselor for La Push and the reservation?" Mr. Webber asked and I nodded to him. "Yeah, but she's got more power then the entire council together and with dad the police chief, well..." I said and they nodded. "We get the point and that's a good a idea with those rapists on the loose in P.A. right now at the moment anyway honey." Mr. Stanley said and dad nodded in agreement to that remark softly.
