For context;
1. Graham is my oc, he's Lukes long lost werewolf grandfather (Sues father.) Graham was raised in a traditional werewolf household, with two werewolf parents. So he knows werewolf culture. He is training Luke on how to control his wolf form. ALSO, I swear to god, I didn't mean to make his story so much like Skipstone. I made this oc from watching the show, I hadn't even read the books yet.
2. Cleo is a sandshifter, see previous notes on past drabbles.
3. They have teleportation medallions, see previous drabble notes.
4. Okami is an El Tigre OC from my friend Storyteller54. :)
5. Luke, Cleo, and Resus are all about 16.
The old werewolf walked into the Emporium, he went in there to get some more nails. He was building a new shelf for his yurt. He walked towards the back shelves, but stopped half way when he caught sight of Luke in one of isles.
It wasn't surprising that the pup was there, he was still working off the debt he owed to Eefa. Luke had a clip board, but the kid didn't seem to be writing anything. Actually, he was looking through the shelves.
From where he was standing, Graham could easily see what the pup was staring at. Cleo. She was sitting in a booth chatting to Eefa.
Luke snapped up straight when he heard a rather loud foot step next to him, he turned to see his granddad smirking down at him.
"I see somebody's after a cat." The old wolf chuckled.
Luke raised a brow in confusion, which just caused Graham to laugh some more.
"Excuse me?" The kid asked, his confusion only growing.
The old man just laughed and mumbled something along the lines of "I'll tell ya later" as he walked away.
Luke thought about it for a few moments trying to figure out what the man meant. One idea crossed his mind, but he quickly shook it off with a red face. Gramps was not that crude. It had to be a werewolf joke? Right? Luckily, he had someone he could ask…
Sometime later;
Luke didn't visit Okami too often, Mexico was a little too hot for his taste. Also, there was like a 6 hour time difference between the locations. He also didn't train with Okami's family because his werewolf problem wasn't solvable with more werewolfs. But, that's not the point right now.
He found the oak colored werewolf hunting fish in a river. The wolf perked it's ears up as Luke broke through the thick brush. Okami hoped out of the river and shook the water off, before shifting back into human form. Luke grimaced, he really wished he had control like that.
"I haven't seen you in a while, I take it you came here for a reason?" The wolf boy smiled.
"Well, uh, I got a bit of a weird question." Luke chuckled a bit awkwardly.
"Shoot." Okami sat on the grass, Luke doing the same.
Luke; "Are there any werewolf phrases related to cats?"
Okami raised a brow; "….Can you be more specific?"
Luke sighed; "Does the phrase "Looks like you're after a cat." mean anything?"
Okami had a blank face for a few moments, clearly thinking. Then he burst into laughter and fell back onto the grass.
Luke; "SO IT IS A WEREWOLF THING!"
Okami was crying with laughter; "W-who told you t-that phrase!?"
"My Gramps, now tell me what it freaking means!" Luke exclaimed with slight frustration.
Okami whipped the tears from his eyes as he struggled to sit back up, his laughter dying down.
"Were you looking at a human girl when he told you this?" Okami raised a brow and gave a mischievous smirk.
"Well, uh." The brown-haired kid blushed a bit. Cleo wasn't exactly human, but she was fairly close to one. "I was near one, yeah….. WHY?!" Luke snapped, his face still a bit red.
Okami snickered; "Your after a cat" Is slang for when a werewolf has a crush on a human girl."
Lukes brain stalled for a few minuets as his face flushed with slight horror;
"GRAMPS?!" He snapped at the sky in an embarrassed surprise.
"Cat is slang for a human girl, at least when talking about love." Okami snickered. Luke hid his face in his hands with a fluster.
"So…. who's the "cat?" Okami smirked
Luke "NO ONE! I do not have a "cat!"
Okami; "Well, your grandfather certainly thinks you do…"
Luke huffed, his face getting red with embarrassed anger "Well he's wrong!"
Okami; "I don't know, you seem like a cat kind of guy to me…"
At this point Luke let out a low growl, his wolf side was threatening to take over.
"Well, I guess I'll shut up now. I think I've tortured you enough." The smirking wolf boy got up and dusted off his jeans. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go see my cat."
Luke threw a stone at the other werewolf, who quickly ran into the woods, laughing his head off.
Luke would glare at his grandfather for a week straight, each stare just making the old wolf chuckle.
