I'm not sure what compelled me to write this one other than the freaking scary sight of a rearing centaur.

Hagrid saving Firenze

"Please, my brethren-" Hagrid heard a familiar voice plead. He took off from his own path and quickly stumbled into quite the sight. Dumbledore was standing by Firenze's side, his wand undrawn, but very clearly radiating sorrow for the events unfolding around him. Firenze was alone, and though Hagrid couldn't actively see them, he could all but feel his ever blue eyes with as much conviction as his voice.

None of this meant a thing to the surrounding centaurs, as one roared in outrage, and never had a winnie sounded so frightening as when he came back down with a hoof smashing into Firenze's chest.

The blow was strong, his rear end stumbeld into a tree and his top half folded over the injury as he rasied his other arm in defense.

"Oi!" He could stand by no longer, stomping onto the scene and at once pushing the still rearing beast away. He nearly overbalanced, but caught himself at the last moment and looked daggers upon Hagrid, though they were nearly the same height.

"Begon Hagrid," a roan one roared at him. "We allow you trespass into our forests for you have never intervened in our ways before."

"I ain't just going to stan' by and let you kill him!" Hagrid snarled right back, brandishing his crossbow as two tried to edge in from his side. "Back, all of ya'!"

He waved Firenze and Dumbledore to go while he kept their attention, and only when he was sure they weren't being followed, did he continue waving them forward while asking for an explanation.
