Chapter 33
About three weeks later Skye was laying on Maria and Sharon's bed watching them pack. She had already packed, she still didn't have much with her; most of the clothes Pepper had bought her were still at the tower.
"So, we are going to the Hub and then the tower?" Skye asked.
"Yes, Tony and Pepper invited the whole pack, and since they know about the wolf thing we don't have to be as careful as we normally do, like when we are here, at the Hub, or any SHIELD facility really," Sharon said.
"But we still have to be careful," Maria said with a pointed look at Sharon, who put her hands up in surrender, Skye could not help but laugh.
"But we will stay the night at the Hub and go to the tower tomorrow," Maria said.
"Will Bobbi be at the Hub when we arrive, or will she be there later?" Skye asked, she hadn't seen Bobbi for almost two weeks, and she missed her.
"Not sure, she should be done with her mission. It all depends on her extraction and debrief," Maria answered.
Skye just nodded.
"There I think we are done, let's go meet Samantha and Rick," Maria said, bringing Skye out of her thoughts.
A few hours later, the small group of five was about to land at the Hub. They landed beside the Bus that apparently had also just landed, because the whole 616 team was in the hanger when they landed, including Ward, who was the one to spot them walking by.
"Commander Hill, Skye," he said, looking Skye quickly up and down, "when are you coming back? And why did you leave the team?" he asked.
Skye looked to Coulson and then Maria, "Doesn't he know?" Skye asked Maria, and almost made a fist bump in the air, because she managed to mind link Maria without a problem.
"No, we didn't think he should, but you can tell him if you want to," Maria said to her.
"Umm I don't know when I will come back, if ever, but the reason for me not being on the team now is that I am only seventeen," Skye told Ward nervously.
Ward just looked at Skye for a moment before he just nodded and walked back into the Bus. "Is he mad?" Skye whispered to Maria, Maria just shrugged.
"Come on, we have an appointment," Maria said, taking ahold of Skye's arm and dragging her along.
When they were in the elevator Skye noticed that it was only her and Maria, when she looked at Maria, "What?" Skye asked, noticing the smirk Maria had.
"Oh we should properly have told you," Maria said.
"Told me what?" Skye asked, confused.
"Well, you are going to the vet," Maria said, then the elevator stopped and walked out, Skye looked after Maria and hurried after her before the doors closed.
"Vet? What do you mean?" Skye asked.
"Sam, she is not only a human doctor, but she is also a vet," Maria said.
"I'm still lost, Maria," Skye said.
"She has to do a checkup on your wolf's form," Maria said, laughing at the face Skye made.
"When?" Skye asked.
"Hmm in five minutes," Maria said, checking her watch.
Skye made a run for it, but Maria was faster and grabbed her around her waist.
"Maria" Skye whined.
"Oh no, we all have had our checkups, and now it is your turn," Maria said, and Skye just knew that Maria was smirking.
Then she was hurled up and thrown over Marias shoulder again, "Maria, you do know I can walk right?" Skye asked, not even bothering trying to fight it. Even if she was awake this time Maria carried her around, she still knew she was no match to Maria.
"Yes, but I know you will make a run for it again," Maria said, and Skye could literally hear the smirk. Instead of arguing, Skye just grumbled under her breath.
When Maria finally put her down, they were at medical and Sam was standing in front of them looking amused.
"I will leave you to it then," Maria said, walking out of the room, deciding to wait for a moment if Skye did decide to make a run for it. After ten minutes, she was satisfied that Skye didn't. Maria went to the common area, where May, Fitzsimmons, Sharon, Izzy, Rick, and Johnathan were. Rick and May were glaring at one another.
"How did she take it?" Sharon asked, Maria smirked.
"She tried to run," Maria answered.
May shook her head, "Seriously you two? Sometimes I ask myself 'how old you two are' with how you act," May said.
Maria and Sharon looked at May in mock hurt, which caused the rest to laugh. Just then Kara, Victoria, and Bobbi walked into the room, followed by Peggy "Where is Skye?" Bobbi asked.
"With Sam," Sharon answered.
"Uh," Bobbi said sitting down beside May.
"Did you tell her or was it a surprise?" Peggy asked.
"Um, a surprise, that she tried to run from," Maria said, Peggy like May shook her head.
"Hi Jonathan, do you want to go spar?" Rick asked.
"Sure," Jonathan answered, and the two men left the room to go to the gym.
About fifteen minutes later Sam walked through the door with a sulking Skye behind her, Skye walked right past Maria and Sharon and sat down beside Bobbi.
"So how did it go," Sharon asked, amused, Skye just huffed to the amusement of the others.
"That was not funny," Skye said, but her undertone betrayed what she said. Sam decided to save Skye from more teasing.
"Well her claws and teeth look good, she is still small compared to the rest of us when we were the same wolf age, but hopefully she will grow a little more weight, reflexes, sight, motor skills are good too." Sam said.
"That's good, and uh Sharon, Maria, it is your turn in February to have your yearly checkups both in wolf and human form," Peggy said with a little smirk, the others couldn't help but laugh. Skye tried to hide her laughter by burying her face in Bobbi's side, but Maria and Sharon heard it.
"But Simmons will be back on the bus then," Sharon said.
"Uh, I am sure we can schedule a supply run, don't you," Peggy answered with a bigger smirk, both Maria and Sharon groaned.
The next morning the whole pack was up early and ready to leave for Stark Tower. They were leaving in three cars Victoria, Kara, Rick, Johnathan, and Sam in one; Nat, May Fitz, Simmons, and Clint in another; and Sharon, Maria, Bobbi, Skye, and Izzy in the last car. Peggy had left the night before.
The car ride was shorter than the last time Skye had gone to the tower. Maybe it was because the last time she had met her parents for the first time.
When they arrived Pepper and Tony met them in the private parking garage. After greeting everyone, Tony spoke, "Hey there she is," he said, when Skye had gotten out of the car last.
"Hi Tony," Skye said, giving him a hug, before moving over to Pepper, who after also giving her a hug, hooked their arms together and led her to the elevator.
When the rest made their way after them, Pepper spoke up, "Sorry everyone, but I have plans to have some mother daughter time, you can take the next elevator," she said.
"Did Pepper seriously just basically tell us to get lost?" Sharon asked.
"Yup, she did," Tony answered.
