(A/N) I hope it's been a wonderful January for you all! Not a Shika's world event, so there'll probably be a lot of scroll activity! This fic becomes more of a chat fic every chapter lol. This is probably half a year after the last chapter.
Shikamaru finally remembered to check the scroll after he'd finished his lunch. He'd been busy with school most of the morning, trying to convince Sakura to actually tell an adult about her home problems, and doing the barest minimum of homework.
It looked like chaos had come to the scroll, as it was mostly filled with what looked like screaming.
"What on earth." -Shikamaru
Short, but heartfelt. What on earth was going on that everyone seemed to be screaming?
"Shikamaru! Wonderful!" -Tenten
"I have no clue what's going on here either, I'm currently hiding out in the Akimichi compound while Danzo scours the place I was before! So I'm behind." -Tenten
"I haven't teleported over because honestly I'm afraid of what's going on over there." -Tenten
"Understandable" -Shikamaru
"Ah, alright, I got the scroll and am hiding." -Sakura
"So what's going on?" -Shikamaru
"Oh nothing, we just found out Tobi's identity. You know, world shaking stuff." -Sakura
"Really? Who is he?" -Tenten
"Uchiha Obito." -Sakura
Shikamaru bluescreened for a long moment. What? Obito was dead, or supposed to be, he'd been killed in that rock fall. How in the sage of six paths was he alive?
"What the frick." -Tenten
"Yeah we said the same thing." -Sakura
"Well, Kakashi started cussing more then a Kiri sailor could ever hope to do, I would know considering he got in a cussing competition with a Kiri sailor. But close enough." -Sakura
"I am both extremely confused, and thinking that is completely in line with Kakashi." -Shikamaru
"I have the same issue." -Tenten
"How's Itachi taking it?" -Shikamaru
"I think he's hiding. I haven't seen him since we figured it out. He'll come out eventually." -Sakura
"He has to eat after all, he is human." -Sakura
"We've been trying to feed him up, although it's not really working." -Tenten
"Choji's rather concerned, despite Itachi having killed the Uchiha clan, it's kind of cute." -Tenten
"And everyone else?" -Shikamaru
"We're doing fine mostly." -Ino
"It's a shock though. We haven't told Gai or Lee of course, they wouldn't remember, or Moegi or Udon, since any sort of lapse in attention could be fatal for them." -Ino
"I'm still annoyed at not being told until I checked a scroll. Which I had to steal from Ino." -Neji
"Oh yeah, Neji's here. Mom decided I needed a hand apparently. So he works here sometimes." -Ino
"Hinata didn't take it too well, she's had more nervous breakdowns than ever." -Neji
"Uncle has been very hard on her." -Neji
That sucked for Hinata. Shikamaru assumed Neji and Ino were taking turns with the scroll, which explained the pauses between one or the other writing.
"I think he should lay off the poor girl." -Sakura
"You always think that." -Tenten
"I'm always right." -Sakura
"In this case and anything involving medical stuff anyway." -Sakura
"That's beside the point." -Shikamaru
"How is everyone beside the shock." -Shikamaru
"Alive, and honestly, that's all we can ask for at the moment." -Neji
"Lee and Gai still can't remember anything ever, I think Lee forgot my name for a little while yesterday." -Neji
"Color me surprised, I thought he'd never forget you." -Sakura
"Screw you too." -Neji
"Oooh, so testy." -Sakura
"Give it up you two." -Tenten
"Are we going to do anything about Tobi? Er, Obito?" - Tenten
"Is there anything we can do?" -Sakura
"He caused a lot of incidents, initiated the Akatsuki, helped Itachi kill his clan, but in the end, he's another person helping us, someone we need to help kill Danzo when the time comes." -Sakura
"So in the end, you're just going to have to keep an eye on him?" -Shikamaru
"Yeah. Plus with Sasuke gone and Itachi basically out of the running because of his health issues, he's pretty much the last chance to revive the Uchiha. If we want to do it at all." -Sakura
"Which in and of itself is a hotly debated topic." -Tenten
"That aside, whatever we decide on that, will ultimately be the Uchiha's decision. That aside, in the end, there's not much we can do." -Sakura
"Especially if we want to kill Danzo." -Sakura
"In the end everything's basically the same except for the fact that we now know what Tobi looks like." -Tenten
"Well that's helpful." -Shikamaru
"Yep." -Sakura
