I am still trying my best to keep going back from time to time and updating an older story. I still got man to work on, but i try my best to get things done. So here is another chapter of this older story! Enjoy!
Ch. 4
Demyx and Shui walked quietly through the portal while sticking close to one another. After a moment Shui finally spoke up. "So we are heading back to our home?"
Demyx nodded before letting out a small sigh. "Yeah that's what I gotta do. I really wish I could take you to another world though. Someplace that isn't home. That way you could see all the other cool places out there."
"You can show me though another day right? Now that we have found each other again we will have time, right?" Shui asked.
"Hmm, yeah you're right!" Demyx exclaimed. "I'm sure we can find time. Or maybe, I'll just be lazy and not to the work again, heh heh"
"But… won't Saix be upset with you again if you do that?" Shui asked, remembering the conversation that had just happened not too long ago with the blue haired man.
"Yeah I know. But I've gotten away with it before," Demyx replied with a cheeky grin.
The two exited out, back into the world they were in yesterday. Their homeworld. The world and the summer home that Demyx had not seen in years. Demyx once again scanned the area, and tried to take better note of the place as they walked through a forested area. He started to space out as he thought back to his childhood, but he didn't have a lot of time as he felt Shui grab onto his hand again.
He looked over to her and saw her smiling greatly. "But you said before that if I came along you wouldn't get as distracted."
"Aw… but I was just saying that to Saxi to convince him. I didn't really mean I would try to work harder," Demyx pouted slightly as they exited out into the clearing next to the lake.
"Too bad," Shui chuckled. "Now that I am here, I will make sure you get your work done. Cause that way if you actually get it done properly, Saix will be happier and we can have more time to have fun."
Demyx sighed a little. "I know you're right. I just don't wanna put in any effort. Though if any Heartless show up, steer clear. I don't want any of them hurting you."
"I can handle them!" Shui exclaimed. "I was just started yesterday by them, But if they show up again, I will help!"
Demyx couldn't help but smile. Shui had a bright and strong sense of determination, far more than his anyways. And it made him feel happy… or at least a memory of being happy. "All right then. But I seriously hope that we don't run into any today."
The two of them started to walk more around the lake area, and kept a close eye out for any suspicious things like the Heartless. But as far as they could see there wasn't much going on that day. As they walked though Demyx kept occasionally glancing back to the summer house his family owned. It had been so many years now, and he still missed the place dearly. But he tried to put those thoughts behind him.
"It's… it's in the past now. No reason to go and dig up more and more memories from then…"
"Demyx?" Shui asked suddenly. "I know you said you moved away from this world to see new things. But why did you never come back before? You disappeared so long ago… and I wondered what happened."
Demyx bit the inside of his cheek. "Great. Just what I don't wanna talk about…"
He sighed slowly and he tried to to think of what to say. He still did not what to explain about Nobodies to her. He would do whatever he could to try to keep that information from her for as long as possible. But he still had to think of something to say. There had to be some way he could explain it that not only would make sense, but also seem plausible and not have her ask him even more. That was his hope anyways.
"I just… I guess I never thought about it really. Time slipped away from me after I left home. Years had past before I knew it."
"Didn't you miss all of this though? Didn't you miss your home?" Shui asked, still wanting to talk on the subject.
"Yeah… but I didn't think about it. You know… would only make things harder. " Demyx explained. It could have been partly true anyways. Thinking back before he became a Nobody… back when he had a heart and could truly feel things… it wasn't something he wanted to do. It only would bring back an empty feeling, making him remember what he was now. And the faint memories of what he was once, only taunted him in his mind.
"Oh… I'm sorry, I didn't mean to keep asking about it," Shui replied as she lowered her head.
"Don't be sorry Shui, you were just curious. You didn't know," Demyx replied quickly, not wanting her to get too discouraged.
"All right," Shui nodded before clasping her hands together cheerfully. "Though I still have plenty of other questions I want to ask."
Pools of darkness swirled out in front of them before Demyx had a chance to reply. Several Shadow Heartless popped up and started to crawl towards the two. Shui let out a gasp as she hid quickly behind Demyx.
Demyx groaned as he summoned his Sitar. "Aw man. Not again. I was hoping we could just avoid the Heartless… Oh well… Shui do you think you could get to some place safe? I'll take out the Heartless."
Shui took in a deep breath as she stepped to the side to look at Demyx. "No way. I'm not going to let you do this on your own again. I gotta keep an eye on you remember?"
"But… I don't want you to get hurt," Demyx replied. Normally he loved the idea of someone helping him, as it meant he could do less work. But with Shui… he didn't want to see anything happen to her. He wanted to see her safe and out of harm's way. She was a special friend to him after all.
"No, I'm going to help. The… Heartless, right? They just startled me before. I'll be fine, okay?" Shui said as she spoke in a confident tone.
Demyx wanted to protest, but the Heartless grew closer. Before he could do anything Shui took a step forward and held out her hands. Water started to form around them before she flicked her wrists slightly. Though it was a slight motion, water burst forth and smashed right into several of the Heartless nearing them. The Heartless tumbled back and scampered around, seemingly a little dazed from the attack.
"Wow!" Demyx exclaimed. "That's so cool! I had no idea you could do something like that."
"I did say I am a water nymph. I know how to control the water," Shui replied with a smile.
"Oh yeah," Demyx chuckled sheepishly, a bit embarrassed he had nearly forgotten that part. "Well if you really want to help, let's do this!"
Shui nodded as she readiy the water around her hands again and prepared to go and attack again. Even though Demyx was not in the mood to put energy into fighting, he felt it would be different this time now that Shui was helping. And he was not going to let her do all of the work. He wouldn't to that to her at least… the other Organization members probably… but not Shui.
As he fought he remembered that Shui had said just before that she still had plenty of questions to ask him. While he struck down a Heartless he realized he too did have more things he wanted to ask her. He knew now why he had a affinity for water, but that still left more questions about it over all. He knew Shui said she didn't know how she was able to give him that ability, but there was other things he wondered about it. He knew though he would have plenty of time to ask her though. After all the tiring and boring missions were done, he hoped there could be time to just sit and relax and finally get to know the mysterious girl from his childhood.
I am not sure how much longer this story will go on, probably not super long, but I do have a bit more planned. I won't probably go into KH3 though as I did plan out the ending of this story before KH3 came out, so it makes things difficult. But I'll see how it goes.
Let me know what you guys think as feedback is always nice to see. Thanks for reading!
