"Mikael is here?"Liah asked, eyes wide as Elena spat her drink of juice back into her cup."How long has he been here?"All three girls were in the kitchen.
Liah had decided that she wanted to make dinner and Elena had been showing her how to use the stove, oven, and any other electronic's in the kitchen when Rebekah came in, telling them that she had just helped Emily and the Salvatore Brothers lure Klaus back to Mystic Falls by Mikael being Daggered.
"For two days apparently."Rebekah answered calmly.
"And he's Daggered?"Elena asked with a look of disbelief on her face."He let himself be willingly Daggered by Emily?"
"Yep. But he won't be for much longer."Rebekah added.
"And you're going along with this plan of theirs?"Liah questioned her Little Sister, eyes narrowed."You do know that I don't want Nik dead, right."She staged it like a question but they all knew it was a statement.
"I know you don't."Rebekah said softly and looked away from her Older Sister's intense hazel green eyes.
"I don't want him dead either, Rebekah."Elena said gently and Rebekah glanced at her."He may have killed my Aunt Jenna, but I don't blame him for it. I blame Damon."Elena stated strongly before a dark gleam appeared in her eyes."And my patience with Damon is running pretty thin, so I already have a devious plan for him on standby if anything goes wrong."
"What plan?"Rebekah asked curiously. Elena walked over to the cabinet and opened it, pulling out a cardboard box and put it on the island bench.
Reaching in the box, Elena held up a jar filled with a yellow liquid which Liah and Rebekah looked at curiously."This is all of my Venom I harvested the other day. My Werewolf Venom."Elena stated and their eyes widened."All I have to is get Damon's secret stash of alcohol and put some of my Venom in it and next thing you know, he's poisoned."Elena said as she pulled out a syringe and phial.
"Bloody hell, you're a genius."Liah said in awe as she watched Elena open the jar filled with her Venom.
"Oh, there's more."Elena said, smirking widely at them."Emily will have to come asking for the Cure but I will make her get on her knees and beg for it."She explained as she picked up the syringe and sucked some of the Venom in before putting it down on the island and put the lid back on the jar."It will humiliate her."Elena grabbed the phial and opened the lid before she put the needle of the syringe in the phial and injected all the venom in filling the phial until it was full.
"You are a Mikaelson, through and through."Rebekah said, sounding extremely proud of Elena and Liah nodded rapidly in agreement.
"Now, back to the Mikael problem..."Elena trailed off as she put the jar back in the box.
"I want to see him."Liah demanded."I want to see Mikael."
"I'm going to see him in the morning. He'll most likely be awake by then."Rebekah said, easily agreeing with Liah's demands.
The next day, the trio were waiting on the couch for Mikael to come back to life. Liah was flipping through a magazine while Elena was letting Rebekah paint her nails while she read Jane Eyre. The trio paused in what they were doing when they saw Mikael's hand twitch out of the corner of their eyes. Rebekah finished painting Elena's eyes nails and started to put the lid on when Mikael awoke with a gasp and then started coughing as he turned on his side while Liah sat up properly and eyed the older Original and Elena calmly closed her book.
"Finally."Rebekah and Liah said in unison as Mikael got to his knees and he turned to them at hearing their voices.
"Took you long enough."Rebekah said coldly.
"Old man."Liah added in a snarky voice.
"Rebekah. Aaliyah."Mikael breathed out.
"Whatever Fatherly rubbish you're thinking, save it."Rebekah spat.
"Because we don't wanna hear it."Liah added, eyes narrowed.
"Nothing you say matters to us."Rebekah finished off.
"I see."Mikael said, pained by their coldness towards him and looked away before standing up."Where's my Dagger?"He questioned them, noticing that the Dagger was nowhere in sight.
"My Sister, Emily, has it."Elena spoke up and Mikael looked at her coldly."Please, is that the worse glare you can give me? I've seen worse."She added with a scoff.
"Anyway, you can forgot your plan to use the Dagger on Rebekah or me."Liah suddenly said.
"You two were never the ones I was after."Mikael said calmly but neither of his Daughters looked like they believed him.
"Nik was our Family."Rebekah stated."If you were after him, you were after us."Liah nodded her agreement.
"He blinded you, Rebekah."Mikael stated."He blinded you as well, Aaliyah."Liah's eyes darkened."He killed your Mother."He added and Rebekah, with the grace of a vengeful cat, got up.
"Three strikes within minutes, he's out, people."Elena muttered under her breath and Liah bit her lip, smiling.
"We know what he did."Rebekah said angrily."And he'll pay for it with his life."Rebekah said, getting in Mikael's face."But Nik was not born a killer."Rebekah said through gritted teeth."None of us were."She added, making a small gesture to Liah."You did this to us when you turned us into Vampires."Tears formed in Rebekah's eyes."You destroyed our Family. Not him."She said softly before she walked away.
"Rebekah."Mikael said but Rebekah didn't even glance back at him and continued on her way.
"I'm going after her."Liah said, knowing what her Sister was like in this state of mind, leaving Elena alone with Mikael."Hey, we need to talk."Liah said lowly to Rebekah as she grabbed her arm and the blonde nodded.
"So you're the Original..."Elena trailed off, making a small gesture towards Mikael."Father? Or something like that?"
"And you're the other Doppelganger. A Witch or so I've been warned."Mikael retorted, eyeing Elena warily.
"Who warned you?"Elena asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Damon."Came the curt answer."He seems have uncertain feelings for you. Strong hateful emotions, yet-Please don't finish that sentence."Elena cut Mikael off.
"I'm not interested in Damon and he's not interested in me like you think he is. Besides, he'd only want me to be one thing and I have no plans on being a replacement lover for Katherine or Emily in Damon's eyes."Elena stated when the older Immortal raised an eyebrow at her."I'm only interested in one person at the moment and unfortunately, he's not here at the moment."Elena added, frowning with a depressed look in her eyes."Speaking on Damon, I have something to do. Bye."Elena said before getting up and leaving to find Damon's secret stash.
"Do you really want Nik dead?"Liah asked as soon as she closed the door to the room Rebekah had been staying in at the Boarding House and turned to her Younger Sister."Rebekah!"Liah hissed when she saw Rebekah ignoring her in favour of pulling out her Homecoming Dress from the closet.
"I..."Rebekah glanced over at Liah before looking away.
"Please, Bex, tell me you're not actually thinking of wanting Nik dead just because he killed Esther."Liah said, nearly pleading with the blonde.
"She was our Mother, Aaliyah!"Rebekah exclaimed softly.
"I know she was our Mother, but Niklaus is our Brother."Liah retorted."And if we're being fair, it's not just Mikael's fault Nik suffered, Esther did almost nothing to help."Rebekah faltered at that and looked down at her feet."Instead, like a coward, she hid the truth about Nik's true Father from Mikael and hurt Nik by rejecting him."She added angrily."Nik was a newly turned Vampire who had just Triggered his Curse. Heightened emotions, remember Bekah?"Liah asked as Rebekah looked up at her."Being rejected by Esther hurt beyond anything Nik must have ever felt, considering it was the woman who gave birth to him and tried her best to protect him, the woman he looked up to."
"You're right."Rebekah agreed."We need to warn Nik."Liah nodded in agreement."Do you think you can locate him and send a message?"
"If he's cloaked then no, but since he knows Mikael's here, he'll likely come back. You know how he is. Wants to be all flashy and whatnot."They shared a knowing smile."But I'll try to locate him and send a message, meanwhile, you pretend to still be on Mikael's side."Rebekah nodded in agreement.
Elena silently cheered at finding Damon's secret stash in the most obvious place. His bedroom wardrobe. Pulling out the phial that she had put in her pocket and looking through his stash of alcohol, Elena decided that the one Damon would most obviously go for would be his Bourbon.
Opening the lid of the Bourbon, followed by opening the phial lid, Elena carefully poured her Venom into the bottle before closing both lids. She then shook the Bourbon before she put it and the rest of Damon's secret stash back in his hiding spot while placing the phial back in her pocket.
"Payback's a bitch, Damon."Elena mumbled with a wicked smirk plastered on her face as she stood up and quickly left the room.
"Where's Rebekah?"Elena asked as she saw Liah waiting for her at the front door.
"She's gonna stay here and get ready for this Homecoming thingy."Liah said, shrugging."I'll explain everything later."Liah whispered when Elena raised an eyebrow at her before nodding in understanding.
They left the house and headed for the car and as soon as Liah started the car and the Boarding House was out of sight, Liah explained what was going on;"Rebekah's going to pretend that she's still on Mikael's side while I try to send a message to Klaus or find him here with a Locator Spell. Now, where were you?"
"In Damon's room, looking for his secret stash of alcohol."They shared knowing grins before Liah remembered something.
"Did you know that while Nik can Cure Vampires with his Blood, I can Cure them with my Siphoning ability?"Liah asked, wondering if Elijah had told Elena about that little trick of hers.
"You can do that?"Elena asked, eyes wide in awe and Liah nodded."Nice, but we want Damon to suffer first."
"Of course we do."Liah agreed."And I can understand why. He took away the only person who actually cared about you."
Elena teared up at the indirect mention of Sheila."And he's insulted me every time he had a chance, which also includes when he kissed me."Elena mumbled the last part but Liah still heard her and was shocked and pissed off at the same time."He will feel my revenge."
During the rest of the day, Elena was once again on the computer while Liah tried to locate Klaus or tried getting a message to him, but it seemed as though he was still being paranoid after being told that Mikael was Daggered.
Elena was looking through the pictures again while checking her emails for anything from the Colleges that she had applied for. However, she was mainly looking at the pictures. More importantly, the White Oak Tree.
"I feel like I'm missing something from this."Elena grumbled as she eyed the picture and Liah looked over at her questionably."You know what, after we've dealt with Mikael, I'm going back down into those tunnels and getting a better look."Liah went to say something but Elena's phone went off. Picking it up, a look of surprise and hope appeared on her features."Elijah?"Elena asked hopefully and Liah was by her side within seconds of the Werewitch saying her Brother's name.
"Sorry to disappoint you, love, but my dear Brother is still Daggered."Came Klaus' voice.
"Klaus."Elena growled out.
"Give me your phone."Liah said and Elena willingly gave Liah her phone, glaring all the meanwhile."That was cruel, Nik, and you know it."Liah said, frowning and shaking her head."Where are you, anyway?"
"Ah, good question. I need you, Rebekah, and Elena to come down to the Lockwood Estate. I'm planning a party."Klaus said in a chirpy voice."Wear something nice."
"No, wait, Nik-"Liah growled under her breath when Klaus hung up on her and then she turned to Elena."Get ready, Klaus is planning a party, as in he's taken over that Homecoming thing Rebekah was going to, and he obviously wants us in dresses."
Elena, wearing a dusty pink short v-neck homecoming dress with jewelled bodices, and Liah, wearing a icy blue short embroidered-lace-applique homecoming dress, entered the Lockwood Estate, they instantly started looking for Klaus. They ignored the stares of awe and are confused and slightly concerned when they see Rebekah nowhere in sight.
Well, Elena tried to ignore the stares, seeing as she never went to any of the school dances, so the stares made her nervous."You texted her, right?"Elena mumbled to Liah as they walked through the crowd.
"Yes, I texted her after she didn't answer her phone."Liah answered, frowning."Let's find my Brother. Where ever he is, she is most likely close by and has already told him if he's done something like this, then he must know the plan."
"Hopefully."Elena mumbled, nearly stumbling."How do you walk in high heels?"Elena grumbled and Liah couldn't help but giggle.
As they continued looking for Klaus, they saw a group of people heading towards the backyard, were the band was playing and that's when they saw Klaus, alone. Rebekah was nowhere in sight.
"Damn it."Elena cursed."Emily must have Daggered Rebekah somehow, but it's a good thing Damon will soon be sick from my Venom and it will provide us with a bargaining tool."Elena muttered lowly to Liah who nodded in agreement.
"Nik!"Liah yelled, catching Klaus' attention and he turned to see the two walking towards him.
"There's two of three of my girls."Klaus greeted them, smiling."Where's Rebekah?"He asked, glancing around for Rebekah before looking back at them when they came to a stop in front of him.
"Now's not the time, Klaus."Elena said, looking at him with an urgent look in eyes."There's something we have to tell you."Klaus raised an eyebrow at her."It's about Mikael."
"No need to worry, love. I know what I'm doing."Klaus said, smirking.
"Nik, now's not the time for your ego to grow any larger then it already is."Liah snapped.
"Everything will be fine, Liah. He can't get inside without an invite anyway."Klaus said dismissively and walked away, leaving Liah and Elena dumbfounded for a moment before they shared a concerned look and followed after the Older Hybrid.
"Hello, Niklaus."Mikael said as they came to a stop behind Klaus, who stood on the other side of the door while Mikael stayed outside.
"Hello, Mikael."Klaus said coldly."Won't you come in?"He asked before a smile pulled at his lips."Oh, that's right. I forgot, you can't."
"Klaus."Elena warned him, eyeing Mikael warily.
"Or you can come outside if you want."Mikael retorted calmly.
"Or I could watch my Hybrids tear you limb from limb."At those words, said Hybrids came out of hiding.
"They can't kill me."Mikael stated.
True, but it'd make a hell of a party game."Klaus lifted up his arm."All I have to do is rub these two fingers together, and they'll pounce."He threatened Mikael.
"The Big Bad Wolf."Mikael stated as Klaus lowered his arm."You haven't changed. Still hiding behind your playthings like a coward."Mikael spat and Liah glared at Mikael with furious hazel green eyes."Oh, and you forget. They may be Sired by you, but they're still part Vampire. And they can be compelled by me."Elena and Liah looked at Mikael with wide eyes as a female Hybrid came to stand next to Mikael.
"Shit."Liah muttered, eyeing the Hybrids warily."Double shit."She added when Emily was yanked out into the spotlight.
"Come out and face me, Niklaus"Mikael nodded to Emily."or she dies."
"Don't even think about it, Nik."Liah warned Klaus, who glanced at her, then at Elena, before looking back at Mikael.
"Go ahead. Kill her."Klaus said softly, surprising everyone and Elena realised just by looking at Emily's eyes that she wasn't Emily but Katherine.
"No. Klaus."Katherine shook her head."He'll do it."Katherine whimpered for added affect.
"If she dies"Mikael nodded to the group behind him."this lot will be the last of your abominations."Mikael warned Klaus.
"I don't need them."Klaus declared."I just need to be rid of you."
"To what end, Niklaus?"Mikael questioned him."So you can live forever with no one at your side. Nobody cares about you anymore, boy!"He spat."Who do you have? Other then those whose loyalty you've forced? No one."He stated when Klaus didn't answer him but looked at him with shining eyes."No one."He echoed softly.
"You're wrong!"Liah snarled and would have pounced on Mikael if Klaus hadn't held her back."I care about him! Rebekah and Elijah care about him! Elena cares about him! He's never forced our loyalty ,unlike you he has a Family, Always and Forever!" Liah finished glaring at Mikael with potent hatred clearly visible in her eyes.
"I'm calling your bluff, Father."Klaus said after he managed to get Liah to stand down and get behind him."Kill her."
"Come outside and face me, you little coward, and I won't have to."Mikael hissed out.
"My whole life, you've underestimated me."Klaus growled out."If you kill her, you lose your leverage. So go ahead."Klaus stated."Go on, kill her."He demanded."Come on, old man."Katherine shook her head."Kill her. Kill her!"Klaus roared and Mikael started to chuckle, giving them a wide smile.
"Ah, your impulse, Niklaus."Mikael said as a single tear slid down Klaus' face."It has, and will forever be, the one thing that keeps you from truly being great."Mikael said before he stabbed Katherine in the back, causing her to gasp, as did Klaus while Elena's and Liah's eyes widened. Pulling the knife out, he let Katherine go and she fell to ground, pretending, while Mikael laughed.
Suddenly both Liah and Elena were pushed to opposite sides, Liah hitting one wall while Elena crashed into the table and groaned in pain. The two brunette's looked up sharply at Klaus' yell of pain and saw Damon throw him to the ground, trying to force a stake all the way into the Hybrid's heart.
However, Klaus was barely able to stop him by holding onto the stake and both struggled."Katherine."Mikael breathed out when he turned around after seeing that Emily was nowhere to be found.
Katherine smirked at him before she turned to the Hybrids."Ka-boom."
She threw the grande's at them as Damon managed to get a proper hold on the stake and wrenched in back. Before he could kill Klaus however, a blur came at him causing him to drop the stake and he realised that it was Stefan, who had tackled him.
"What are you doing?"Damon snapped at Stefan.
Elena and Liah quickly got up, with Liah grabbing the stake while Elena turned her attention on Mikael, who turned back to them, and raised her hands, curling her fingers slightly and watched as he fell to his knees as the bones in his body started snapping and breaking, causing him to scream in pain.
"This is what happens to every Werewolf during their transformation."Elena stated as she walked towards the front door."Are you feeling that pain, Mikael? Because this is the pain that Klaus went through. You hated him just because he's a Werewolf, now you get taste of what it's like being a Werewolf during the Full Moon."Elena spat, glaring down at Mikael, who gasped and grunted as he looked up at her.
Letting her arms fall to her sides, Elena stepped aside and Klaus came rushing at Mikael before he had time to recover from his bones breaking. At the same time that Klaus tackled Mikael, he also stabbed him in the heart with the stake, causing Mikael to scream in pure agony.
Getting up, Klaus watched as the stake became aflame and Mikael became grey as Liah and Elena came to stand on either side of Klaus, watching as the flames grew. Elena put a hand on Klaus' shoulder as Liah wrapped an arm around his waist. Klaus grabbed Elena's wrist from his shoulder and intertwined her hand in his before they headed inside, with Klaus' other hand on the small of Liah's back, to find Stefan still pinning Damon to the ground.
"What the hell did you do?"Damon snarled, glaring at Stefan.
"He's earned his freedom."Klaus spoke up from behind them and Stefan stood up, looking at Klaus with wide eyes and walked over to him."Thank you, my friend."Klaus said, sounding grateful."You no longer have to do as I say. You're free."Klaus stated, compelling Stefan his freedom.
