After coming back from the Lockwood Estate, Elena and Liah got ready for bed but neither of them could sleep, so they decided to stay up and watch movies on Elena's laptop in the living room.
However, they ended up getting bored of watching movies and decided to talk. About anything and everything before somehow they started talking about Elena's past and Elena decided to let Liah see one of her memories.
Eight year old Elena was sitting in a classroom, alone at her own table, waiting for the teacher to arrive.
It was the first class of her second grade.
No one wanted to sit with her because she was different then others, she had different interests and sometime when she was angry or provoked, 'weird' things would happen, light flickering mostly or even the person who bothered her would get pushed like it was by some invisible force.
Unfortunately because of it, she became a social pariah.
The young Werewitch Doppelganger was lost in her thoughts when suddenly someone poked her in her ribs from behind. Elena turned around to see who it was, although she had a feeling she knew exactly who did that to d of course she was right, it was her twin sister, Emily.
Elena narrowed her eyes and gave her a cold glare."What do you want Emily."Emily gave her a mockingly look.
"Nothing, just pointing out if you weren't such a freak, maybe someone would sit with you this year, but it seems you will always be a freak, maybe that's why our parents like me and Jeremy more."Elena's eyes started filling with tears and anger rising in below her skin."I mean, Mommy and Daddy make you go and stay with Bonnie's Gram's after school and during the weekends, they have to believe that you're a freak too."
Elena's eyes started filling with angry tears."I'm not a freak! Grams told me I'm different because I have magic."When Emily heard Elena mentioning the word "magic", she started laughing uncontrollably while looking at Elena like she was a total lunatic.
"Yeah you're crazy, like Bonnie's Grams, who drinks too much and then speaks rubbish."Elena didn't replied anything just staring coldly at her sister with, her eyes filled with a mixture of hatred towards Emily and sadness because she wanted to be like everyone else at that time.
Few seconds later Bonnie and Caroline arrived in classroom and walked towards Elena and Emily. Once they saw Elena's face expression they figured Emily was taunting 'the freak', as they also called Emily's twin sister, so they smirked and decided to join in, they never liked Elena anyway.
Bonnie was the first that threw insult at Elena while she started to laugh evilly."Look, it seems Emily was right, it seems not even time can change someone from being a freak."
Elena tilted her head towards Bonnie and gave her a look that said; piss off bitch.
Caroline joined by giving Elena a look of fake pity."Yeah, once a freak, always a freak."
Elena closed her eyes and said to herself inwardly. Elena control yourself, it will pass, they are just a nuisance, nothing new. But then the three girls started whispering to Elena intermittently."Elena is a freak!"
After about a half a minute, Elena finally snapped and lost control."Enough! Leave me alone!" Elena said, her tone rising in pitch, followed by the lights flickering inside the classroom and her school table catching on fire.
The children, except for Elena, started screaming in shock and fear when the table lit on fire before the sprinkler went off when the smoke set off the alarm. Everyone's screams grew louder at getting drenched.
The teacher rushed inside."Everyone, outside, quickly!"The teacher exclaimed and everyone, including Elena, did as they were instructed."Who did this?"The teacher asked sternly once everyone was outside, and they all pointed at Elena before everything started to fade away.
Liah's eyes snapped opened and she stared at Elena sadly."Oh, sweetheart..."Liah trailed off as her hands slid down from either side of Elena's face to caresses her face and wipe away the tears with her thumbs.
"It was years ago. I'm over it now."Elena said strongly. Liah looked as if she didn't believe Elena, but she didn't say anything."Unfortunately, there were more incidents like that, but not as bad as that memory."Elena's eyes darkened."I won't rest until I make Emily pay for everything she made me endure."She stated, firmly before a thought occurred to her."I think I'm gonna film Emily kneeling and begging, what do you think?"Before Liah could say anything, Elena's phone went off."Speak of the devil."Elena said, seeing Emily's name light up on her phone."What is it, Emily?"Elena asked, pretending to be tired and yawned for effect.
"Damon's been poisoned by Werewolf Venom!"Emily said, sounding frantic.
"And that's my problem how?"Elena asked, sounding confused and Liah grabbed a pillow, trying to muffle her laughter.
"Because he wasn't bitten and I know that your Original friend had to have something to do with that!"Emily spat and Elena's eyes narrowed while Liah looked up at Elena sharply, with a mocking offended look on her face and Elena bit her lip, trying not to laugh.
"I'll admit, you were close in thinking that Liah had something to do with it."Elena stated, coolly, wanting to draw things out and see if Emily would let something slip."But how do you know it was her and not Rebekah?"Elena questioned her twin."I mean, Liah's an evil genius and slightly psycho from what I've learned, but Rebekah? She's sweet but incredibly ruthless and would go through with Liah's ideas."Liah grinned, not insulted by what Elena said but took it as a compliment.
"Because Rebekah couldn't have done it!"Emily exclaimed."She was... away."Emily said hesitantly."She left."Elena and Liah shared a look, knowing that Emily had Rebekah.
"Alright, you know what? Rebekah nor Liah poisoned Damon. I did. I laced his Bourbon with Werewolf venom."Elena fessed up with a smug expression on her face.
"Why!?"Emily yelled angrily."He's done nothing to you!"She added."Where did you get Werewolf Venom anyway, did Klaus give it to you?"Emily inquired.
"This isn't just about what he has or hasn't done to me, Emily, this is about you too."Elena retorted and could tell that Emily was confused."And no, Klaus' Hybrid gave me their Venom."Elena lied easily about where she got the Werewolf Venom, causing Liah to silently clap."If you want the Cure, bring Damon with you, no one else, except for Rebekah."
"Where?"Emily asked softly.
"I'll text you the address."Elena said coolly.
It didn't take long before they heard someone banging on the front door and they quickly got up and headed to said door, with Elena opening it to reveal Emily and Damon, but no Rebekah.
"Where's Rebekah?"Elena asked, eyes narrowed.
"Where's the Cure?"Damon asked, looking sickly pale, and ignored Elena's question.
"Where's my Sister?"Liah snapped, eyeing Damon warily.
"We're not giving her to you."Damon snapped back at Liah.
"Wrong answer."Elena said as Damon was suddenly pinned harshly against the wall and Emily jumped, looking at Damon worriedly.
"Ooh, someone's got a Dominant Kink."Damon said, trying to act like his usual cocky self and not show his fear. and Liah's eyes darkened in disgust.
"We don't have Klaus' Blood, Emily."Elena said, catching Emily's attention and she looked back at Elena in shock before she gritted her teeth angrily and went to say something but Elena quickly continued speaking."But that doesn't mean that his Blood is the only Cure. Liah is a Siphoner and she can Cure Damon with her ability, but all you have to do is two things."Emily looked at Liah with a hopeful look in her eyes before looking back at Elena.
"What do you want?"Emily asked, looking defeated.
"First, I want Rebekah returned to Liah and Klaus."Elena stated before she smirked slightly."Second, I want you to beg, on your knees."Emily's eyes widened."If you don't, Damon will die a slow and painful death, and his death will be on your, already, bloody hands."
"I always knew you were evil-GAH!"Damon choked as Liah tightened her grip around his neck.
Elena refrained herself from volleying back a venomous retort to Damon, and instead, she looked to Emily while giving her a wicked smirk.
"Well let's conclude this business shall we?"Elena asked rhetorically."And by the look of Damon's face, I'd suggest sooner than later."She added."Where is Rebekah, Emily?"Elena asked and Emily glanced at Damon, who shook his head no, then back at Elena, who rose an eyebrow at her.
Emily, looking utterly defeated, said;"At the Boarding House, in the basement."
Elena tilted her head to Liah."It's late and I don't know if they'll plan something stupid if you go with them, so we'll go get her in the morning."Liah nodded, understanding Elena's hidden concern.
Elena switched her view back to her twin sister while smirking evilly."Now on your knees Emily and start begging."Elena stated as she pulled her phone and started recording everything."And it better be convincing."
Emily, surprised, that this is going to be filmed slowly dropped on her knees while retaining her view on Elena."I'm begging you to heal Damon, please"Emily pleaded in the most convincing voice she could use at that moment."Please, heal him. I don't want him to die."She added as tears formed in her eyes when Elena seemed unconvinced.
"Of course we will, it's no problem."Elena said in a sweet mocking voice to Emily and finished recording.
With that said, Liah's palms start glowing red. With one hand still holding Damon's neck, Liah placed her other hand on his forehead, and she started siphoning the Wolf Venom from Damon.
After some fifteen seconds, her palms stop glowing and she let her hand, that was resting on Damon's forehead, fall to her side and looked back at Elena and Emily, who had gotten up slowly as she was wary of what Elena or Liah might do to her.
"It's done."Liah stated.
"Good..."Elena trailed off, eyeing her twin thoughtfully."You better give Rebekah back to us tomorrow or Liah and I will kill both of your precious Salvatore's. Got it?"Emily nodded furiously, looking at Elena in horror and fear."Great. Now it's time for you two to forget this place."
"Good luck with that."Damon retorted, looking smug and Liah's eyes narrowed before she smiled charmingly at the blue eyed Vampire, causing him to stare at her worriedly.
"Did you know that compulsion actually comes from Witches?"Liah asked in a sickeningly sweet voice.
"I think he's too stupid to figure that out for himself."Elena added with a mocking glare towards the older Salvatore. Liah lifted her hand to Damon's forehead again and started mumbling a Spell under her breath while watching as Damon's eyes hazed over and Emily watched, eyes wide.
"You're gonna remember what happened here, what deal Emily made in exchange for your life being saved, but you won't remember where all this took place, you'll forget this location."Liah compelled Damon before she snapped his neck.
"Damon!"Emily exclaimed and ran over Damon when Liah stepped back.
"I have an idea."Liah said to Elena, who raised an eyebrow at her."Emily, get up. He's fine."Liah said coldly. Emily, although she didn't want to leave Damon's side, but she also didn't want to piss off the Original, did as she was told and gasped when Liah placed her glowing hand on her forehead, mumbling the same Spell she placed on Damon."You're going to answer my questions honestly."Liah said when she saw Emily's eyes haze over before letting her hand drop to her side and turned to Elena."Elena, start recording."Elena held up her phone and started recording and nodded to Liah, who turned back to Emily, silently saying she was ready."What are your feelings towards Damon?"Elena's eyes widened before she smirked.
"I... I don't know..."Emily said in a flat voice and Liah's eyes narrowed as Emily licked her lips."I know that I care about him."
"But do you love him?"Liah asked, raising an eyebrow at Emily."Do you love him like you love Stefan?"
"I've been starting to feel something..."Through the hazy eyes, both Immortals could tell that Emily was thoughtful of her next words."I feel something deeply about Damon, but I'm not sure if it is like how I love Stefan and if it is, I don't think I like it."Emily said, looking confusion. Liah ad Elena shared a look before Liah silently told Elena to stop recording.
"Oh and Emily, you should know Rebekah will get her revenge because you Daggered her, she can be quite petty is such situations and me and Elena will help her."Liah said evilly.
"You can't kill me, Klaus needs me and my blood."Emily said, trying not to sound afraid as she looked at Liah and Elena.
Elena grinned wickedly."Oh death would be too good for you Emily."
"Ok, now I want you to remember what happened, here, what you did to save Damon's life and what we just talked about, but you won't remember where all this took place, you'll forget this location."Liah compelled Emily once Elena had put her phone away."You can go now."
Emily started to walk back to her car quickly remembered about Damon and cursed herself for her stupidity. Darting over to Damon, Liah dragged him over to the car and threw him in the back seat before Emily left.
"Well, that was interesting."Elena stated when they got back inside and closed the door behind her and Liah.
"Rebekah is gonna get a kick out this."Liah said, smirking.
"I bet she will."Elena agreed before she yawned."I'm gonna head to bed, Night Liah."
"Night, Elena."Liah said gently.
"Agh, it's too early for your morning calls, Nik."Liah said as she sat on the kitchen island while watching Elena cook some bacon and eyed said bacon hungrily as she sipped on her cup of blood.
"Too bad, put me on speaker, now."Klaus demanded and Liah's eyes narrowed before she did as he so rudely requested.
"Hi, Klaus, what do you want?"Elena asked as politely as possible after having seen Liah put her phone on speaker.
"Stefan Salvatore stole the coffins."Klaus said and Liah nearly spat out her blood while Elena dropped the her spatula into the frying pan.
"WHAT!?"Both girls yelled and Klaus winced at how high their voices went.
"He stole our Family from us."Klaus stated."And before you ask, no, I didn't wake them up."He added.
"I knew we never should have left them in that truck!"Liah snarled."You should have put them somewhere safer, you bloody wanker!"The webby veins appeared under Liah's eyes."You know what? You should have never left them in the care of compelled Humans to begin with!"Liah raged.
