"If you ever do anything like what you did to Caroline, again, I'll sever your head from the rest of your body."Klaus threatened Damon, who, if it was possible, paled at the dark threat.
"Did you say Lexi?"Liah suddenly asked in a soft voice."As in Alexia Branson?"Everyone turned to look at Liah, who was looking back at Elena, who nodded softly.
"You knew Lexi?"Stefan asked, eyes wide as he looked at Liah, who nodded.
"Yes, she was mine and Rebekah's best friend and I turned her."Liah said and Damon gulped softly when Liah looked at him with a furious look in her eyes."And you killed her."She hissed, glaring at him."If it weren't for the fact that I promised Elijah I'd be on my best behavior tonight, I would have already ripped out your heart."
A deathly silence settled around them for a few minutes before Elijah decided to break it."Stefan, where is Miss. Emily tonight?"Elijah asked, thinking that Stefan would know where Emily is.
"I don't know. Ask Damon."Klaus and Liah started laughing while Elena and Elijah looked confused and curious, and Elijah made a gesture that said what's so funny?.
"I'm sorry. You missed so much."Klaus said to Elijah, not sounding apologetic but amused.
"As did you, Elena, after I put you in the Sleeping Enchantment."Liah said to Elena."I told you a lot can happen in twenty-four hours."
"Uh,"Klaus crunched up his face."Trouble in paradise."
"Do I even want to know?"Elena asked sarcastically.
"One more word about Emily and, uh, this dinner's over."Stefan threatened them before Klaus put his index finger to his lips as to say I can keep it a secret, and continued to laugh silently.
"You know what, probably best just to keep Emily in the do not discuss pile."Damon spoke up.
"You're probably right."Klaus agreed.
"Yeah."Damon said softly.
Everyone continued eating before a thought occurred to Klaus and he spoke up."It's just the allure of the Petrova Doppelganger, still so strong."Klaus said after he put his utensils down."What do you say, Brother?"Klaus looked at Elijah as Liah's grip on her glass tightened."Should we tell them about Tatia?"Elijah suddenly looked highly uncomfortable and glanced at Elena.
"How about we don't?"Liah spoke up, glaring at Klaus, who glanced at her."I'm sure Elena doesn't need to hear this."She hissed out and Klaus had the decency to look sheepish.
"I agree."Elijah said, nodding to Elena and Liah."Why should we discuss matters long since resolved?"He questioned Klaus, his eyes dark and filled with a promise of pain if Klaus makes the wrong move.
"Well,"Klaus suddenly looked uncomfortable himself."given their"He weakly gestured to Stefan and Damon."shared affection for both Emily and Katerina, I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line."
Damon, seeing that this might be a chance to prove to Elena that Elijah wasn't who she believed him to be, spoke up."Well, we're not going anywhere Elijah. Please, do tell."He smirked at Elijah before taking a sip of his wine.
Elijah leaned back in his chair, glancing at Elena."When our Family first settled here, there was a girl named Tatia, she was an exquisite beauty. Every boy of age desired to be her suitor, even though she'd had a child by another man. And none loved her more than Niklaus."
"Oh, I'd say there was one who loved her at least as much."Klaus retorted as he and Elijah glanced at each other.
"Wait a minute, so you both loved the same girl?"Stefan cut in, gesturing between them before huffing in amusement.
"Our Mother was a very powerful Witch."Elijah went on as he picked up his glass."She sought to end our feud over Tatia, and so she took her."Elijah stated as he glanced between everyone."And Klaus and I would later learn that it was Tatia's blood that we consumed in the wine on the night where our Mother performed the spell which turned us into Vampires."Elijah took a small sip."Tatia wouldn't make a decision between the two of us, so for a time, Niklaus and I grew estranged. Harsh words were traded. We even came to blows. Didn't we, Brother?"Elijah asked rhetorically.
"But in the end, we recognised the sacred Bond of Family."Klaus stated.
"Family above all."Elijah said, lifting his drink and Klaus, Liah, and Elena did the same, clinking their glasses together.
"Family above all."Klaus, Elena, and Liah repeated in unison while Damon and Stefan looked at Elena furiously.
"What's with the faces?"Liah asked rhetorically and raised an eyebrow at them.
"Elena, they're not your Family and didn't you hear?"Damon snapped, glaring at Elena."Elijah loved the Original Petrova, so maybe he's using you as a replacement for her."He said, hoping to make Elena become insecure about her's and Elijah's relationship.
"Yeah, loved, as in past tense, Damon."Elena snapped back at Damon."He loved Tatia, and that was a thousand years ago, those feelings for her are long gone."Elena stated as Elijah placed a hand on her thigh and squeezed said thigh lightly in reassurance that she was right.
"And how do you know that?"Stefan asked in a snarky voice.
"Because they're Bonded for fucks sake!"Liah finally snapped. She was saying this more towards Damon so that he would get the hint and leave Elena alone."And she's Elijah's Intended Mate!"Liah finished explaining and Stefan's mouth opened and closed, reminding Elena of a fish, and Damon was flabbergasted.
"You're joking, right?"Damon suddenly asked weakly."Tell me she's joking."He looked at Klaus and Elijah, who both stared back at Damon with serious faces, before looking at Elena."You can't! You're a Witch and he's a Vampire!"Elena raised an eyebrow at him as if saying So?."If he Mates with you, Elena, you'll be forced to become the one thing you don't want to be, a Vampire!"Klaus and Liah scoffed, amused, while the corner of Elijah's lip's tugged up into a crooked smirk, and Elena rolled her eyes.
"How do you know what I want?"Elena asked, tilting her head to the side slightly and narrowed her eyes at Damon, who remained quiet."Next time, don't speak for me and treat me as if I'm a woman from the 1800's where woman and children are seen and not heard, which I am not."Elena growled out and Damon frowned at her while Stefan grimaced.""Oh and because of your infatuation towards Emily, you'll lose your Brother."Elena added with a wide smirk on her face and Damon reacted by gritting his teeth."Plus, Emily must be a sucker for a lost cause and to be in a love triangle with you and Stefan." Elena finished, still smirking, but was now looking between both of the Salvatore Brothers as everyone fell into another lapse of silence.
"So why don't we move this evening along and discuss the terms of this proposal?"Elijah spoke up, not exactly happy that he had to break the silence again.
"Well, it's very simple."Damon spoke up."Klaus"The male Hybrid looked at Damon."gets his coffin back."Klaus smirked as he looked down at his plate."In exchange, he, and the Original extended Family leave Mystic Falls forever."Elena's eyes , Stefan, Emily, and Elena live happily ever after, no grudges."Elena glared coldly at Damon as to how he dares to speak in her name. She had half a mind to give him another aneurysm, but she refrained herself of doing it simply because she knew that idiot would do something stupid in the near future and she will get her chance of punishing him then.
"The deal sounds fair, Brother."Elijah stated and Elena and Liah looked at Elijah with wide eyes."However, if we go, we take Elena with us. I will not leave without her."He added, glaring at Damon while Elena smiled widely in relief.
"I don't think you understand."Klaus said, sitting up slightly."I can't do that because Emily's Doppelganger Blood ensures that I will always have more Hybrids to fight those that oppose me. I will never leave her behind."Klaus said as though he was making a promise to Emily as he looked at Stefan with a dark look in his eyes."Let's say I do leave her here, under your protection."Klaus got up with his drink in his hand."What then?"He questioned them but they didn't didn't get a chance to say anything."How long before one of you"Klaus gestured between the Salvatore Brothers."turns her into a Vampire? Or worse, how long before she dies, caught between your feuding?"Damon glared as Klaus placed his arms on top of his chair and leaned forward."You see, each one of you truly believes that you're the one that can protect her. "I'm going to get some air."Damon spoke up and quickly left before anyone could say anything.
"Let me deal with this."Elijah said and stood up, following after Damon.
"All this talk has made me thirsty."Klaus said, eyeing one of the maids, who came to stand next to him and he moved some of her hair out of the way so that he had access to her neck."What do you say Stefan, Little Sister?"Klaus asked Liah and Stefan."Can I interest you in a little after dinner drink?"
"No thanks."Liah mumbled while Elena looked away as Klaus drove his fangs into the maid's neck, drinking greedily. No one had ever feed on a Human in front of Elena before, not even Katherine had did it.
It wasn't long before Klaus stopped feeding and let the maid drop to the floor, obviously dead by Klaus' fangs."Delicious."Klaus smirked at them."Aged to perfection."He added before wiping away the blood that had tickled down his throat.
"Must you make Elena uncomfortable?"Liah asked, frowning up at Klaus as Elena looked back at Klaus, frowning also.
"Well,"Stefan suddenly said and stood up."I guess the only reason you agreed to this evening, Klaus,"He walked around the table and stopped behind the seat Damon had been sitting in."is to drive a wedge between me and my Brother."
Klaus foreign looking offended."Oh no, you're doing that well enough on your own."He said softly."Because of Emily, you're gonna lose your Brother and you'll only have yourself to blame."Klaus said, using the same words Elena had used against Damon, and smirked at Stefan as Damon and Elijah re-entered the room.
"What do you say, Klaus?"Damon asked as Elijah walked over to stand behind Elena's chair."It's time for you to put something on the table."Damon stated."We've made our offer, now you counter."He explained.
"Okay."Klaus said as he walked around the table to stand behind Liah's chair and cleared his throat."I offer Emily's future happiness."Liah and Elena raised an eyebrow, glancing at each other then looked up at Klaus questionably."You see, what she needs right now is to be rid of you lot."He made a small gesture at the Salvatore Brothers."And to fall in love with a Human, maybe that nice football player, you know the blond one?"
"Matt Donovan?"Damon asked, eyes narrowed and Elena shook her head in disagreement with Klaus' idea. Matt and Emily broke up for a reason."Really?"Damon asked, giving Klaus an incredulous look that matched his tone.
"Yeah, why not?"Klaus asked, noticing Elena shaking her head."They'll marry, live a long and fruitful life, and pop out a perfect Family." The Original Male Hybrid added.
"And continue the Petrova Bloodline."Stefan stated."Every few hundred years, you'll have a new Doppelganger to drain and never run out of Hybrids, right Klaus?"Stefan asked in a snarky tone.
"Consider it a small return on my investment in her well being. See after you hand me back the coffin, I'll ensure her safety for the rest of her natural life, you know it's what's best for her."Klaus walked towards Stefan."So, what do you say Stefan, do we have a deal?"Klaus asked and Stefan met Klaus half way, confusing and shocking, Elijah, Liah, Damon, and Elena.
"What are you doing?"Damon demanded as Klaus held out his hand to Stefan, who grabbed his hand.
Klaus smiled, thinking he won."Nice try, Klaus. But no deal."Stefan said softly.
"Oh boy."Liah muttered when she saw the look on Klaus' face.
Elena winced when Klaus broke Stefan's arm, followed by breaking Stefan's leg. Stefan yelled out in pain before he was Vamp-Sped dragged over to the fireplace and screamed in pain when Klaus put his hand in said fireplace and he started to burn.
Damon attempted to rush towards Stefan, intending on saving him, but before he could properly move, Elijah came at him and pushed him against the wall, holding him by the throat.
"What are you doing?"Damon choked out softly as Klaus continued to hold Stefan's arm in the fire."Stop!"Damon managed to yell at Klaus when he saw that Stefan's hand was becoming worse.
"Now, bring me my Coffin before I burn him alive."Klaus threatened Damon, smiling all the meanwhile.
"I'll get it."Damon growled out, glaring at Klaus before he walked away, bumping Elijah's shoulder as he did so.
"Go with him, Brother."Klaus said, turning his attention to Elijah."You keep him honest."Klaus tilted his head slightly."And when you return, I will make good on my promise to you and I will hand over our Family."Elijah stared at Klaus for a moment, as if he wasn't sure if he could trust Klaus' word, before he left.
"Hn."Liah suddenly said, causing Klaus to look at her with a raised eyebrow."I'm surprised, I never thought I'd hear the day when you'd make good on your promise on something like this, Nik."Liah said, sounding suspicious and Klaus frowned at her.
"Go ahead and kill me,"Stefan suddenly spoke up."I know you'll do it when he brings the Coffin."Klaus surprised the trio by pulling Stefan away from the fireplace and up to his feet, pushing and shoving him.
"You really have given up, haven't you?"Klaus stated questionably."Where's the fight? Where's the rippah?"Klaus snarled and pushed Stefan, only for Stefan to push him away.
"Boys..."Liah and Elena trailed off, shaking their heads.
Elijah and Damon suddenly re-entered the room, catching Klaus' attention."Elijah."Liah and Elena silently got to their feet when they saw a maid come out with a tray and stood next to Elijah."Why haven't you left?"Klaus questioned Elijah.
"Where are you manners, Brother?"Liah smirked, and inwardly laughed, knowing that Klaus had no manners. He hadn't had manners for a thousand years."We forgot dessert."Elena bit her lip when Elijah took the red cloth off the plate to reveal two Daggers.
"What have you done?"Klaus asked softly, eyeing the Daggers in horror.
"What have you done?"Elijah echoed."You see, I've learned not to trust your vulgar promises, Klaus."Elijah stated."We're doing this on my terms now."Elijah said in a deadly voice and Liah's eyes lit up when she saw her twin enter the room.
"Kol."Klaus breathed out pleadingly.
"Long time, Brother."Kol said in a thick British accent as he eyed Klaus.
Klaus started to back away, only to dart towards the Daggers, only for Finn to suddenly appear, snatching one of the Daggers and Klaus' hand before Klaus could grab one.
"Finn, don't-Aah!"Klaus cut himself off, crying out in pain when Finn stabbed him through his hand. When Finn released him, Klaus turned and darted towards the only other exit, only to come face to face with Rebekah.
"Rebekah."Klaus stated as she smiled cruelly at him before she stabbed him in the stomach with a Dagger.
"This is for our Mother."Rebekah snarled in Klaus' ear before she pushed him away and Klaus stumbled back into Kol's arms, and Kol restrained him as Rebekah walked towards them.
"You're free to go."Elijah said, watching behind a blank mask, in sick pleasure as his Siblings were going to take their revenge against their Half Brother."This is Family Business."He added as the Salvatore Brothers started to leave and Damon glanced back at Elena, who walked over to stand by Elijah, only for the Original to bring her into his arms, while Liah walked over to her twin.
