The moment Elena stepped inside Rebekah's room, she was dragged over to the bed by the blonde and was forced to sit down.
"Well, what happened?"Rebekah asked, looking at Elena curiously.
"Yes, what did Mother want to talk to you about?"Liah asked, raising an eyebrow.
"She basically told me; Welcome to the Family and that she's happy that Elijah has found me..."Elena trailed off."She also wants me on the staircase tonight, with you lot and to be announced as Elijah's Fiancée."Rebekah squealed excitedly while Liah smirked, her eyes sparking happily."Wait, why didn't you just listen in on the conversation?"Elena asked, raising an eyebrow at them.
"Because Rebekah wanted you and Mother to have some privacy."Liah said, huffing while Rebekah rolled her eyes.
"Mother likes her privacy and wouldn't like us to be eavesdropping on their conversation."Rebekah stated knowingly."I have to tell you both something, something important."Rebekah suddenly said and both brunette's raised an eyebrow at her.
"What?"Liah asked warily.
"First, I need you to do a Privacy Spell so that we're not overheard by our Brothers."Rebekah stated and Liah got up.
"I'll be right back."Liah said before disappearing from the room, only to return minutes later with some Sage in her hands and closed the door. Elena and Rebekah watched as she burnt the Sage."Ok, start talking, Bekah."Liah said, sitting down next to Elena while Rebekah sat down in the desk chair.
"Ok, do you remember what happened in 1919?"Rebekah asked Liah, who scowled.
"Of course I do, why?"Liah asked, eyes narrowed and eyebrows furrowed.
"I'm the reason Mikael found us in 1919."Rebekah said guilty and Elena's eyes widened while Liah was stunned.
"Rebekah, how could you!?"Liah exclaimed, getting to her feet.
"I wanted to be with Marcel and Klaus has always ruined my relationships, so I was scared that he was planning something and I wanted to stop him."Rebekah tried to defend himself."Then I learned that he was actually going to let me be with Marcel, but by then it was too late. I'm sorry."Rebekah said, biting her lower lip as Elena and Liah looked at each other then back at Rebekah.
"We won't tell him."Elena finally said and Rebekah relaxed slightly."We promise."She added and Liah nodded in agreement.
"Thank you."Rebekah said, relieved."Now, let me do your makeup, Elena."Elena sighed but nodded in agreement before remembering something.
"I have something to tell you guys too."Rebekah and Liah raised an eyebrow at her questionably."Remember that dream I was telling you about?"Elena asked Liah."The same dream I was having?"
"I remember. I also remember putting you under a Sleeping Enchantment and got told off by Elijah for doing it."Liah said, still upset that she got scolded for doing one little Spell.
"Why does this matter exactly?"Rebekah suddenly cut in.
"Because I've been having this dream for many nights now. I think they're visions."Elena stated."But something changed last night."
"What did?"Liah asked sharply.
"I saw who was standing behind me."Elena said and the two gave her a look that said go on."It was Bennett Witches and not just any Bennett Witches. It was Bonnie, and her Mother, Abby Bennett."
"What does any of this mean?"Rebekah asked, annoyed.
"I'm not sure yet."Elena said with a small shrug of her shoulders and sighed."I hope that I find out some more when I go to bed tonight..."Elena trailed off."Hey, do you want to annoy Emily more?"Elena suddenly asked and Rebekah looked at her curiously.
"What do you have in mind?"Rebekah asked as she started to look through her makeup bag, to find a tone that would go well with Elena's skin tone.
"Make sure that it's close to natural."Elena warned Rebekah, who huffed."And I was thinking, why don't you try to turn her friends against her."Liah's eyes lit up and Rebekah gave her a look that told her to go on."We know that Bonnie will never turn against Emily, but we all know that Caroline is slowly turning against her, so she'll be easy, yet still tricky, so you'll have to be extremely subtle with her."Rebekah and Liah grinned, agreeing with Elena's statement, knowing it was true."Maybe you can even get Stefan back, but like with Caroline, you have to be careful."
"Have I ever told you how much I love you?"Rebekah asked, smiling at Elena.
"Don't let Elijah hear you say that."Liah said, chuckling."He is most likely already worried about Kol going after Elena because she's a powerful Witch, we don't need him keeping her away from our girl time together."
Elena rolled her eyes playfully but turned to Rebekah."I love you too Big Sister. The three of us are beautiful, powerful, and vindictive, it's our way, Always and Forever."Elena vowed and Rebekah beamed at her, pulling her and Liah into a group hug.
"Always and Forever."Rebekah and Liah echoed Elena's words.
"Ok, now, let me do your makeup."Rebekah said after pulling away.
After doing Elena's make up, they did each others hair. Elena did Rebekah's hair, Rebekah did Liah's hair, and Liah did Elena's hair. Rebekah's hairstyle was straight and sleek hair, Liah's hairstyle was a simple half bun, and Elena's hairstyle was tousled waves.
Liah and Elena then left Rebekah's room to finish getting ready in their own rooms at the Mansion. Elena was looking at herself in the mirror, smoothing down her dress as Elijah stepped into the room and paused as he looked her over, admiring how the dress suited her.
A smile formed on his lips."You look divine."Elena looked up sharply through the mirror to find Elijah admiring her and blushed.
"And you look dashing as usual."Elena said as she turned to face him, after giving him a once over through the mirror, and walked over to him."So, uh, your Mother..."Elena trailed off nervously
Elijah's eyes closed briefly."She didn't."Elijah interrupted Elena with a hint of denial in his tone, almost sounding like he was pleading as he opened his eyes and Elena gave him a nervous smile.
"She official welcomed me into this Family and she asked me to be on the staircase with you and your Siblings."Elena explained.
"Did she say anything else?"Elijah asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, the reason behind why she wants me up there."Elena answered and took a deep breath."She wants-Me to introduce me as your Fiancée."Elijah finished for her.
"That was suppose to be a surprise."Elena raised an eyebrow at him as he pulled his hand out of his pocket to reveal small box in his hand.
Elena's eyes widened."Is that what I think it is?"Elena asked softly and Elijah smirked at her as he got down on one knee, opening the box lid to reveal a oval shaped emerald green ring."Oh my god, Elijah, you don't have to do this right now."Elena said, looking down at Elijah.
"I'm ready to do this right now if you are, Lovely."Elena gasped softly and nodded."Elena Alicia Gilbert, will you do me the honour of becoming my Wife?"
"Yes, yes, a thousand times yes."Elena breathed out.
Later that night, when the Ball started, the Mikaelson Siblings and Elena were chatting with the locals of the town. Elena had already introduced Rebekah and Liah to Carol and if Carol noticed the second ring on Elena's ring finger, her Moonlight Ring was on her right middle finger, the older woman didn't say anything.
The girls soon broke away from each other to entertain the Humans on their own and Elena, who had joined Elijah in talking with the Fell's and a few other couples, saw Damon make an appearance, causing her to frown slightly as they excused themselves.
"I thought Damon was blacklisted?"Elena mumbled lowly to Elijah, who's gaze sharpened and his eyes turned to steel as he also caught sight of the Older Salvatore, who went to talk to Carol.
"He is."Elijah stated, frowning."Although it wouldn't surprise me on how he managed to get in, seeing as he's part of one of the Founding Families, and the hired maids and butlers are Humans, so he most likely compelled his way in"Elena nodded in agreement.
"Oh no."Elena muttered, seeing Kol heading towards Carol and Damon."This looks as though it could end badly."
"Hmm."Elijah said in agreement."Might I suggest asking Rebekah and Aaliyah to intervene."
The Sisters in question, who Elijah and Elena were walking by, looked at them sharply, and Elena nodded her head in the direction of where Kol, Carol, and Damon were. Grinning like sharks, the duo calmly made their way over to the trio.
Elena and Elijah watched from a corner as the Sisters intervened."Kol, my darling Brother, I've just heard the most amazing story about this town's history, you have to hear it for yourself."Liah said excitedly and Kol raised an eyebrow at her questionably."It's about Vampires and Witches."At the mention of Witches, Kol looked interested and let his twin guide him away.
"You're mad, you know that, Damon?"Rebekah asked rhetorically and Damon looked at her in annoyance as she just smirked at him while Carol looked between them wearily."Elijah is the Noble Original, Klaus is the Original Hybrid, Liah is the Wild Original, I'm the Vindictive Original, but Kol? He's the Psychotic Original, and trust me, you do not want to get on his bad side."Elena removed herself from Elijah's side and stalked over the trio and gave Carol a small smile before glaring up at Damon."Honestly, haven't you learned anything from being around certain members of my Family?"Rebekah asked sarcastically.
"If you ask me, it seems that he's learned nothing from when I poisoned him, Rebekah."Elena said to Rebekah, who smirked at the reminder of how Emily was humiliated, before turning back to Damon."If you continue to cause problems at this Ball, Damon, Liah, Bekah, and I will descend upon you like the plague."Elena warned him.
"Bitch."Damon mumbled under his breath as Rebekah and Elena left him and Carol alone, forgetting that every Vampire in the room could hear him.
Liah gave Damon a side way glare and narrowed her eyes slightly as she tapped into her Magic to give him an aneurysm, causing him to groan lowly in pain, and Kol allowed a full blown smirk to grace his face while Rebekah grinned happily and Elijah chuckled lightly under his breath, knowing what Liah was doing but didn't stop her.
Just as Elena came back to Elijah's side, the doors opened and her twin, wearing a sparkly gothic ball gown dress, entered the room. Elena eyed her twin warily as the Salvatore Brothers went over to the younger Doppelganger and started talking in shush voices before Emily looped her arms through both of theirs. Shaking her head, she glanced up at Elijah, who looked down at her with amusement clear in his eyes.
A few minutes later, the Mikaelson Siblings and Elena had gathered on the staircase."Uh, if everyone could gather, please."Elijah called out to everyone and it wasn't long before a crowd had gathered below them."Welcome. Thank you for joining us."Elijah greeted everyone and glanced further up the stair, at Esther, who had walked down to join her Family."You know, whenever my Mother brings our Family together like this,"He looked back the guests."it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance."Elijah explained."Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz."Elijah stated before looking down at Elena, who smiled up at him."However, this Ball is also to formally welcome my Fiancée, Elena Gilbert, to the Family."Elena blushed as many of the guests gasped in awe."So if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom."Everyone started to leave to the ballroom while Esther returned upstairs."Would you do me the honour of dancing with me?"Elijah asked, holding out his hand for Elena to take.
Elena put her hand in Elijah's hand."I would love to."Elena answered just before they headed into the ballroom and got into position in between Kol and Liah and Emily and Damon."Do me one favour?"Elena asked softly.
"And what might that be?"Elijah asked as they started the first steps of the dance.
"Don't let me fall."Elena mumbled so softly that only Elijah heard her.
"Never."Elijah mumbled back and Elena smiled up at him, which he returned as they started to actually dance."For someone who's afraid to fall, you're an excellent dancer, Elena."
"Well, that's surprising because I never took any lessons."Elena said, surprised."I actually hate dancing even though I enjoy the music."Elena mumbled and Elijah smiled widely down at her.
"Well, to be completely honest with you, Lovely, I prefer to play the music than dance to it."Elijah said, chuckling."Ready?"As everyone was getting ready to switch partners.
"Nope."Elena said before she had to let go of Elijah and found herself in Damon's arms.
"So you're engaged."Was the first thing that left Damon's lips as they started dancing together."How long ago did he propose?
"Not that it's any of your business, Elijah proposed just before the Ball started."Elena said, squaring her shoulders as she took a few loose strands of Damon's hair without him noticing."I think I'm done dancing. Why don't you dance with Rebekah."Elena said.
Elena quickly got out of Damon's hold before he could tighten his grip, and left the dance floor to join Liah and Kol, who had both managed to get off the dance floor without being noticed, and showed Liah the loose strands of Damon's hair.
Emily knocked on the door that was Esther's Spell Room and was surprised when Finn opened the door."You're alone. Wise choice."Finn said as Emily walked into the room.
"It's only Sage."Esther stated, noticing the worried look on Emily's face."I've Spelled it so we can speak freely without fear of being overheard."They both knew that Esther meant her children."That'll be all, Finn. Thank you."Esther said to Finn, who left the room, shutting the door on his way out."You must have a million questions for me, Emily."Esther gestured at the couch."Please."Emily walked over to the couch and sat down along with Esther.
"How are you alive?"Emily asked the second they were sitting."Are you a Ghost or..."Emily trailed off questionably.
"Not exactly."Esther answered."When I died, the Witch Ayana preserved my body with a Spell."Esther stated and continued on at Emily's curious look."She was a close friend of mine, an ancestor of your friend Bonnie."
Emily's eyes narrowed thoughtfully."So that's why only Bonnie and her Mother could open up the casket."
"They complete the Bennett Bloodline."Esther stated."I drew power from them and their ancestors, who were with me on the Other Side."
"So you've been on the Other Side for a thousand years?"Emily questioned Esther.
Esther's expression turned icy."Nature's way of punishing me for turning my Family into Vampires. But there is a way for me to undo the evil I created."Esther said cryptically.
"You're here to help us kill Klaus, aren't you?"Emily breathed out her question.
"One thing at a time, Emily."Esther said softly."For now, I simply need your help."Emily's eyes narrowed as Esther got up and walked over to the desk and started lighting the candles.
"I understand Rebekah shared the story of my Family..."Esther trailed off for a second."How I upset the balance of nature by turning my children into Vampires."
"She said you did it to protect them from the Werewolves."Emily stated.
"It's true."Esther said, pausing for a brief second to pour some liquid into a glass."But in no time at all, they began to feed on Human blood. They ravaged the town with no remorse."She picked up the glass, stirring slightly before putting it down."Eventually Niklaus turned against me."
"How are you gonna kill him? He's immortal."Emily added as an after thought.
Esther turned to look Emily straight in the eyes."It will take time, Magic, and your assistance."
"What do I have to do with it?"Emily asked cautiously, eyes narrowed.
"My children believe I'm holding this to celebrate our reunion. But in truth, I've gathered them together to perform a Ritual."Esther stated."The first step requires Blood from the Doppelganger."Emily noticeably tensed."Only a drop. Its essence will be in the champagne toast later on this evening."Esther picked up a giant needle."Will you do it? Or shall I?"
"Why me? Why not Elena?"Emily asked, eyes narrowed."I mean, she may be a Witch, but this isn't like with Klaus' Curse right? You could use mine or her blood for this Spell, right?"Esther thought for a moment about how to lay it on Emily what her twin Sister has been hiding for her.
"Emily, your Sister, has been keeping things from you."Esther said, choosing her words carefully and Emily frowned in confusion at the blonde."For example, that Birthmark you and she have on your back, only Werewolves from a certain Bloodline posses such a Birthmark."Esther finished explaining."If Elena was still just a Witch, I could have taken her blood, but I can't use Elena because she Triggered her Curse."Emily gasped."And there's more, the night you died in that Ritual, Elena became the last true Petrova Witch."Emily looked at Esther, confused."The Petrova Bloodline is very old and is said to be connected to some very ancient and pure Magic, and to keep the Bloodline from dying out, that ancient Magic saves the last Petrova and makes them Immortal until they have children of their own."
If it were possible, Emily's eyes would have popped out of their sockets with how big they had gotten from listening to Esther explain. Emily was completely flabbergasted by the looks of it, she needed a moment to gather herself.
"But is she still a Doppelganger?"Emily finally asked after getting all of her thoughts together.
"No, she's not."Esther stated firmly."Will you help me?"She asked after a moment and Emily nodded.
"I will."Emily took off one of her gloves and gave her hand to Esther, allowing the Witch to prick her finger with the needle, causing her to wince.
Esther squeezed the pricked finger over the glass and a drop of blood fell into the glass."Elijah is more suspicious than the others,"Esther picked up the glass."so he may need more persuasion."Esther said coolly."But they must all drink at the toast in order to be linked as one."
"What do you mean linked as one?"Emily questioned Esther warily as the Witch turned back to her.
"You said yourself Klaus can't be killed."Esther stated, echoing Emily's earlier words."But tonight's Spell Links all of my children together so that if one goes, they all go."
"What?"Emily asked, eyes widening slightly.
"I love my Family, Emily, but they are an abomination."Esther said truthfully in a strong voice."I betrayed Nature when I created them. It's my duty to kill them."She added in a much more softer voice.
