A/N- I've seen so many genderbent NaLu stories, but usually ones where they're both girls. So i thought it would be interesting to write a story where they're both guys instead lol

Enjoy~

It was nearly noon when Lucas woke. His eyes remained closed as light shone through his window. Grumbling, he turned over so that he could get more sleep. Sighing as darkness once again took over, he began to slip back into dreamland. Until he noticed something heavy laying over his waist. Furrowing his brows, eyes still closed, he shuffled away from the object.

Only for it to tighten and bring him closer.

'He's in my bed again...' Lucas growled, gripping his blanket tightly in his fist. Roughly rolling over, he faced another body snoring right to his face. This was not how he wanted to wake up to a day off. Pushing himself up, he glared down at the man sleeping next to him. And the cat that slept soundly on his pillow.

"Natsu, get up."

Natsu didn't stir as he continued to sleep. Although Lucas was immune to his tricks now.

"I know you're awake, idiot." He muttered. Lucas brushed back his bangs, trying to fix them. His golden hair sat up in every which way as he attempted to smooth it down. He brought his knees to his chest as he basked in the warm glow that was the sun's rays. Turning back to the thorn in his side, he continued to glare at his friend's face.

If he wasn't so angry at Natsu, he would of appreciated his relaxed and handsome face. Or his soft pink locks. And his toned arms.

Okay...he was getting off track.

Natsu grumbled and opened an eye to look at Lucas. Without saying a word, Natsu held up his arms as if inviting Lucas in. The blonde felt his face explode in color.

"In your dreams pyro! Get up!" Lucas screamed out, grabbing a pillow and slamming it against Natsu's side. The dragon slayer laughed and sat up as well.

"Geez Luke, always so noisy in the morning."

"That's because of you idiot! And it's Lucas!"

"But your bed is like a cloud handcrafted by angels." Natsu grinned, leaning back down and placing his hands under his head. Lucas pursed his lips and finally stood up.

"Fine then, stay there. I'm taking a shower." He grumbled, grabbing some clothes and a towel, before going to the bathroom and slamming the door shut. The celestial mage huffed as he finally began his morning routine. But unfortunately, he couldn't keep the red tint from his face, or the irritation he felt at his best friend. Natsu just loved teasing him. And Lucas fell for it every time.

"I think you made him mad." Happy yawned from next to Natsu. Natsu sighed and stood up, stretching.

"Nah I don't think so. He's just annoyed, like always," The mage grinned. Happy snickered along with him, flying to land on Natsu's shoulder. "Now let's see what he has in the fridge." Natsu's mouth watered at the very thought. But as the fridge opened, Natsu noticed the severe lack of food.

"I have only you to blame for that," Lucas huffed, stepping in. Only dressed in a pair of black pants, he ruffled his hair and caught the towel that slipped from his neck. "You just don't know when enough food is enough, do you?" The blonde sighed, turning back to slip on a shirt. Natsu just smiled, but it was obvious to anyone how Natsu not-so-discreetly trailed his eyes down Lucas's body. Finally tearing his eyes away, he came face to face with Happy.

"You liiiike him!" The cat whispered as his hands flew to cover his amused smile. Natsu growled warningly, and darted his eyes between his furry friend and the other man that began cleaning his home.

"Shut up Happy..."

"You don't deny it."

"Don't deny what?" Lucas asked curiously, holding a basket of dirty and mixed laundry. From both his and Natsu. Speaking of, the pink haired mage only laughed and slung an arm around his friend.

"I'm not denying that I'll go shopping with ya today." Natsu gave Lucas a toothy grin while the blonde narrowed his eyes.

"Who said I'd invite you?"

"Aww c'mon Luke, don't be like that. You love my company!"

Lucas shifted his gaze to the floor. He hated to admit it, but yeah, he did like Natsu's company. The man had a way of lightening up the mood. So the blonde let out, once again, another sigh.

"Yeah yeah, okay. But don't destroy anything!" He glared, prompting Natsu to lift his hands in surrender. "Jeez, the one day off I'm getting and I have to spend it doing chores."

"We can go to the guild later if ya want."

"Yeah, that sounds fun. Plus, with that mission Erza picked out for us to take tomorrow, we won't get to see the guild for a while." Lucas smiled, grabbing his keys and attaching them to his waist. Dumping the laundry in the washer, he directed both Natsu and Happy out. Lucas locked his door and they stepped out from the apartment onto the street.

Both boys walked down the brick street side by side. Natsu glanced down at his blonde friend and couldn't help but stare.

Silky blonde hair.

Cocoa colored eyes.

And pale porcelain like skin.

He couldn't remember a time he looked at Lucas without noticing those features. And Natsu wasn't one to use complicated terms. That was Lucas's thing, as he was an inspiring writer. But Natsu knew he was in deep.

Ever since Lucas fell from Phantom Lord's headquarters.

Flashback

Lucas snarled as Jose stepped closer. He didn't want to go back to his father. He couldn't go back to his father. Lucas took another step back and gasped as he turned. It was a straight drop.

But anything was better than going back to him. Lucas's heart beat wildly in his chest, and a feeling suddenly surrounded him. Warmth. Like a fire that couldn't get close enough to hurt you. Like a fire wizard making his way to to rescue him.

And that was all the reassurance he need.
He leaned back as he watched Jose's eyes widened, before falling to the ground.
He couldn't hear anything but could feel everything. The wind whipping his hair, his stomach dropping and his throat taking residency in his mouth. But he had to still try.
He had to.

"Naaatsuu!"

"Luuucaass!"

The fire mage caught the boy in midair, before spinning into a wall. They both crashed through, Lucas landing on top of Natsu.

"Thank you, Natsu" Lucas smiled warmly.

Natsu let out a pant. "Just in time!" He cheered sitting the blonde up and undoing his binded hands. "You alright Luke? They didn't hurt you did they?" Natsu asked with a frown as Lucas remained still.

Phantom Lord attacked because of him. Their friends are hurt because of him.

Levy-chan...

"I-I...I'm sorry, this is all my fault." Lucas sniffled as tears rolled down his cheeks. Natsu shifted awkwardly as he watched his newly formed friend sob.

"How could this possibly be your fault?" The fire mage muttered, resting a hand on Lucas's shoulder. Lucas flinched and Natsu retracted his hand. That flinch...it couldn't be that...

"My dad hired Phantom Lord to bring me back! All our friends are in pain because of me!" Lucas cried, hiding his face in his hands.

"You didn't have to make him cry harder..." Happy tsked, landing on Lucas's lap while he continued to cry. He held the cat close to his chest.

"I didn't mean to!" Natsu growled lowly. He knew times were serious, but Natsu couldn't help but notice how cute Lucas was while crying and holding his friend close. "Here...uh...can you stand?" Natsu's eyes softened as his hand outstretched to Lucas.

"You...You still want me around?" Lucas asked in awe, voice cracked and broken. Natsu's heart thumped painfully at the sound.

"Of course. You're our friend. We wouldn't ever give you up. Especially not to those jerks." Natsu let a slow smile stretch across his face. He peered at Lucas's face, noticing the tears flowing more free. But he also wore a tired, happy smile. Lucas took his hand and allowed him to help him up. But Natsu pulled too roughly, catching the celestial mage off guard.

Lucas stumbled, the top of his head bumping into Natsu's shoulder. The blonde audibly gulped and Natsu could hear his rapidly beating heart.

"Sorry..." Lucas leaned back a bit. "Thank you..."
Natsu couldn't stop the pink that rose to the tip of his nose and cheeks. Natsu had caught a whiff of Lucas's scent.

He smelled of fresh book pages and coconut.
It was so different. So different from Gray's spring water scent. From Elfman's pinewood smell. Even from Loke's faint animal smell, although his scent was almost unearthly and vague.

Lucas actually smelled good. It was a scent that Natsu couldn't get out of his brain. Especially since Lucas was pressed up against Natsu's back as he carried him back to the guild.

"Don't mention it..."

Flasback End

"Natsu? Natsu? Earthland to Natsu? Have you even been listening to me?" Lucas puffed his cheeks up as he snapped his fingers in Natsu's face. The fire mage shook out of his daze and leaned down to stare at Lucas. The blonde swallowed a gasp at their close proximity.

"What's up Luke?"

"It's Luc- oh never mind. I," Lucas paused, blinking down at Natsu's lips before pulling his eyes up to Natsu's face. "I uh- I was trying to tell you that- I, uhm...I can't remember." Lucas lost complete focus when Natsu smirked his way. He snaked an arm around the celestial mage's waist and pulled him closer. Lucas could feel as his face burned bright red. From the base of his neck to the tip of his ears.

"I wonder why that is..." Natsu wondered, continuing to further confuse his blonde partner. Lucas instinctively placed his hands on Natsu's chest to create distance. Was Natsu going to do what he thought he was going to do?

"I- uh, I'm not sure..."

"Does it have to do with me?" Natsu's voice was low as he brought Lucas's chin up with a curled finger. Lucas froze as his mouth dried.

"Ye-Yeah right... don't act so conceited..." Lucas whispered, his eyes already half way closed. Natsu's smirk dropped slightly as he leaned forward.

Were they actually going to do this?

In the middle of the street? Surrounded by hoards of people going to and from the market?

At the moment, Lucas didn't mind. After all, he had been waiting for this moment for a very long time.

"Oh ewww! Gross!" Happy gagged. "I leave for two seconds and you're already jumping him!" Happy crossed his arms as he gave Natsu a disgusted expression. Natsu jumped from his voice, which prompted Lucas to slip from his large arms. Natsu gave Happy a harsh frown. The cat shook his head.

"Why don't you head to the guild Happy." Natsu suggested with a twitch of his brow.

"I was planning to. Anything would be better than hanging around you two. Who knows when you'll start making out." The cat flew away and Natsu rolled his eyes. He turned his attention on his blonde, and noticed how red the back of his neck was.

Lucas grabbed his chest through his shirt. He desperately wished his heart would stop beating so fast. He knew Natsu could hear it. A gasp was caught in his throat as Natsu snaked his hand to rest on Lucas's hip.

"Ignore Happy. He's just teasing."

"I, I know that!"

"Then why are you blushing?"

"I'm not you idiot pyro! Let's just get these damn groceries!" Lucas strode off, and Nastu's hand fell limp to its side. But he was far from upset by Lucas's outburst. He followed after Lucas and they began to shop. Finishing up quickly, they made it back to Lucas's apartment within an hour. They put the groceries away and Lucas threw the wet laundry into the dryer.

"You wanna go to the guild now?" Natsu asked with a raised brow. Lucas smiled with a nod.

"Sure, let me grab my headband-" Lucas's sentence was cut off as he tripped over his other foot. He was always so clumsy. Natsu quickly caught him.

"You alright?"

Lucas quickly spun his head to look Natsu in the eye. Natsu realized just how close the blonde was, and how big his eyes were. Staring up in embarrassment.

"I'm okay, I just tripped." Lucas mumbled as he glanced away from Natsu. Why were his eyes so captivating!?

"You could of twisted your ankle though."

"Jeez Natsu, what are you? My mother?" Lucas chuckled, standing up fully and walking to his room, grabbing a red headband that matched his shirt and tying it around his forehead and under his bangs. "you shouldn't worry so much."

"Can't help it, Luke. You get into a lot of trouble so easily."

"I do not!"

"Yeah you do."

"Nuh uh!"

"Uh huh!"

"Stop being so childish Natsu!"

"You started it!"

"And now I'm ending it, let's go." Lucas sighed, grabbing Natsu by the hand and leading him to the guild. Natsu certainly wasn't complaining. Glancing at their clasped hands, he realized that Lucas hadn't noticed they were still intertwined.
And Natsu wasn't about to remind him. Stepping into the guild, Lucas greeted those who greeted him.

"Hey Lucas, kinda late in the day to come in, huh?" Gray asked, coming up to the blonde.

"Yeah, I know. I slept in until noon. Were just here to hang out though, since we have to get up tomorrow for that job." Lucas grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. Natsu followed the movement. A reaction Gray noticed with a sly smirk.

"We? So you'll be getting up with Natsu tomorrow?"

Gray watched as Lucas's eyes widened. The celestial mage grabbed at his headband and lowered it to cover his eyes. Natsu's ears tinted red at Lucas's reaction. Lucas then noticed pressure on his hand. He turned to still see his hand wrapped around Natsu's. He practically screamed as he let go of it quickly.

"I'm going to talk to Levy-chan now!" Lucas waved a goodbye to Gray as he searched for his blue haired friend. Gray turned his attention to Natsu, who began to follow after Lucas.

"Not so fast, dragon breath." Gray grabbed at Natsu's shirt, stopping him in his tracks.

"What do you want stripper!?"

"Oi, don't be such an asshole!" Gray glared, slamming Natsu down on a bar stool. "I wanna ask you something."

"What?"

"You like him right?"

"Like who?"

Gray rolled his eyes. "Lucas, dumbass. You like him right?"

"Well yeah, he's my friend."

"No I mean- ugh, you're impossible. You're in love with him, aren't you?"

Hearing what he already knew was still a punch to the gut. Especially since Gray of all people figured it out. Natsu tried to remain nonchalant as turned his head away. His eyes subconsciously searched for Lucas who was happily chatting with Levy. Lucas met his gaze and Natsu watched with a small grin as Lucas's face turned a tomato red.
But he still gave Natsu a small smile and a wave. Natsu felt as though an arrow pierced his heart at the sight.

"Wow, you are not even bothering to hide it."

"Would you shut it ice princess!?"

"Look, just admit it and I'll get off your ass."

"No way in hell, we're just friends."

"Oh yeah, I bet you'd totally sleep in my bed if I asked right? Oh and invade my home everytime I happened to be there. And stare at my ass right. That's what friends do, right?"

"You saw that!?" Natsu shouted, face as pink as his hair at the last thing Gray said.

"Focus, Fame Brain."

"I, er...I um...well Lucas is a different type of friend. My best friend."

"Oh yeah, me and Erza just love to cop a feel every time we see each other."

"I do not cop a feel!"

"Yeah right, you know you're not very good at being sneaky, right?"

Natsu froze and glanced away from the ice mage. Natsu never wanted to admit it to anyone else. Especially the ice freak. But, he was pretty much caught red handed. He let out a tight breath as he fumbled with his scarf.

"Fine. I admit it."

"Admit what?"

"You're enjoying this too much."

"Just say it fire face."

"Urgh...I like him..." he mumbled out, so quickly Gray almost hadn't heard him.

"Finally, it was getting painful watching you both pine for each other. Now go tell him."

"Hell no!"

Lucas looked up and watched the scene unfold with a frown. Natsu was obviously uncomfortable, but what about?

"Excuse me, Levy."

"You go get him Lucas!"

"Huh!? Levy, shut up!"

Levy cackled as Lucas strode up to Natsu. He peered over Natsu's shoulder. Instantly, his intoxicating scent filled Natsu's nose.

"L-Lucas!"

"What's wrong, Natsu?"

He was a bit worried, especially since Natsu hadn't used that irritating nickname. Natsu turned to Gray for an out. But Gray was nowhere to be found, the chair he sat in was completely empty. Natsu clenched his fist. That traitor!

"Natsu?" Lucas frowned, placing a hand on his forehead.

"It's nothing Luke, don't worry!" Natsu laughed, grabbing the blonde by his wrist and lifting the hand away from his steaming face.

"It doesn't seem like nothing. What was Gray saying that had you so upset?"

"He was just messin' around with me is all."

Lucas didn't seem convinced, but let it go. He then smiled, which did odd things to Natsu's heart. "Well, wanna head home? I can cook us dinner if you'd like."

Forgetting everything that just transpired, Natsu grabbed Lucas's hand and dragged him out. "Hell yeah! Your food is the tastiest! I'm all fired up!"
Lucas laughed the entire way home.

"You ready to go, Natsu?"

"Yeah yeah, give me a second." Natsu scowled as he readjusted his scarf. He had tired bags under his eyes. Curse Erza for making them wake up so early. Lucas shook his head and fluffed his bangs. He carried both his and Natsu's bags as they made their way to the train station.

"Ah, there they are."

"Oh god, not the train!"

"How did you think we were getting there?"

"I thought we were gonna walk!"

"It would take a minimum of three days walking! You're insane!" Lucas scoffed. Natsu stared at him without saying a word.

He was cute when he was angry.

Grays words from the day before then came crashing down. Natsu hid his nose under his scarf as he grumbled. Lucas huffed and continued to walk towards the train station. Natsu followed the movement as he slowly began his trek down the same path. Gray couldn't hide his amused smile as they all finally met up.

Natsu instantly put his middle finger up at Gray, behind Lucas so he couldn't see. Although Erza did.

"Natsu!" She huffed, banging an armored hand onto his head.

"Ouch!"

"Apologize to Gray!"

"No way, he's an ass!"

Lucas sighed at their antics and paid for their tickets. Quickly boarding the train, Natsu made no hesitation to lay on Lucas's lap. The blonde huffed but didn't bother kicking him off.

"So what's this job anyway?" Lucas asked Erza from across him.

"An infiltration job. An important artifact has been stolen from a local museum and is in the possession of a very wealthy auctioneer. We're in charge of getting this artifact back to the museum. In one piece may I add, understand Natsu?" Erza explained, turning to Natsu with a glare.

"Mmurg..." Natsu responded.

"I think that means yes." Lucas chuckled.

"So what's this artifact even look like?" Gray frowned, crossing his arms. Erza unfolded the job request she grabbed and handed the paper to Gray. Gray stared at the paper, rotating it even.

"It's a..."

"It's supposed to resemble that of a cat. It's made entirely of lacrima. Apparently it was found while a group was on an archeological dig."

"What an odd thing to find..." Charle chimed in from Wendy's laugh. Wendy studied the picture with a smile.

"Oh! I see the cat!"

"What? How?" Gray pursed his lips, flipping the paper upside-down.

Lucas looked out the window, ignoring their conversation. His hand padded through Natsu's hair as he sat in thought. Infiltration missions weren't too hard, but he wasn't really fond of pretending to be some high status duke at an auction. He had to do that enough when he was a kid.

Shaking his head, he figured they were getting close to their location now. He didn't have time to complain. He just needed to suck it up and get the job over with.

"Seems we've arrived." Erza announced, standing along with Gray and Wendy. Happy pulled on Natsu's scarf to get him up.

"Urg, is it finally over?"

"Yes, you big baby," Lucas sighed. Natsu hopped up and ran off the train, practically on his knees kissing the ground. The blonde rolled his eyes and picked Natsu up by the back of his one-sleeved vest. "Get up, you're embarrassing yourself."

Natsu stood and gave him a sly smile. "When have you cared so much?"

"I-! I don't! I just don't want you to embarass the guild is all." Lucas huffed, looking away with crossed arms.

"Mhm..."

"What's that supposed to mean!?"

"Knock it off you two. You sound like an old married couple." Erza scolded, taking lead and walking in front of the group. Lucas opened his mouth to respond, but eventually decided against it. He trailed behind along with Wendy and Charle.

"Do you think this job will be hard, Lucas?" Wendy asked suddenly. He hummed.

"It doesn't sound like anyone uses magic in this situation besides us. So maybe. But then you have to wonder, how were they able to steal that artifact so easily, especially with the security. My guess, wizards or at least someone skilled did the job for that auctioneer."

"So we're definitely gonna have to fight, huh?"

"More than likely yes, depending on how guarded the cat lacrima is and how we manage to pull off this infiltration."

"About that," Erza exclaimed, stopping in her tracks and turning to the group. "I have all our roles picked out. Lucas and Natsu will be our eyes and ears."

"Huh?" Natsu asked with a raised brow.

"You two will pose as a couple for the auction. Gray and I will be in charge of taking the artifact. We will hand it to Happy and Charle and they will take it safely to the museum where the owner will be waiting. Wendy, you will accompany them and guard them from any danger." Erza nodded with a confident smile. Everyone seemed on board with the idea.

All except Natsu and Lucas.

"What!? I don't get to fight at all!?"

"Co-Coup...le..."

"Mhm, you two will be in charge of giving us inside information about the auction and will need to come up with a distraction so that we can quickly and quietly take the cat lacrima."

...

"Man this blows! I wanted to pound some faces in!" Natsu whined, throwing his tie to the ground. "And I'm not wearin' this stupid thing!"

"Couple..." Lucas gulped, fixing his own tie in a daze. When Erza mentioned that they would be posing as a couple, Lucas felt his brain sizzle. His face a permanent shade of red that hadn't gone away since.

"What's with ya?" Natsu sighed. "You sick or somethin'? Your face is all..." Natsu gestured to his own face when suddenly an invisible light bulb turned on above his head. "Ah, I get it."

"Huh? Get...what?"

Natsu stepped closer, trapping Lucas between him and the wall.

Lucas was sure his brain was now a puddle of goo.

"Are you embarrassed?"

"Ugh! Of course not!" Is what he tried saying as it came out in a sputtering mess.

Natsu sighed.

"Y'know you don't have to partner with me. I can switch places with like Erza or Gray." He muttered, rubbing the back of his head. Lucas quickly grabbed his hand as he tried stepping away.

"It's not that! I like working with you...I'm just overthinking is all. Honestly...I couldn't do this job without you as my partner."

As embarrassing as saying that was, Lucas was glad he got that off his chest.

Natsu grinned.

"It's the same with me."

"Then," Lucas smiled, bending down to pick up the tie Natsu threw. He placed it around the fire breather's neck and fixed it for him. "Let's do this!"

"Right, I'm all fired up now!"

They stepped out of the changing room provided by the museum.

"I do hope this plan will work." The owner said, worry set on his face.

"Don't worry old man, it's fool proof. Erza in charge, after all." Gray grinned, turning to th redhead who smiled gratefully. After bidding the owner goodbye, Team Natsu traveled their way to the auction. It was set in a spacious manor. And held in a large ballroom. Erza and Gray, along with Happy, Charle, and Wendy stayed out of sight while Lucas and Natsu stepped into the manor with arms linked.

"Seems we made it in..." Lucas whispered. The rest of the team could hear him through the small lacrima microphone planted in his ear.

"Stay on guard. From what we can see this place is crawling with security." Gray responded.

"That's not all," Natsu muttered. "I'm sure you all can feel it too. An unfamiliar magic energy. But I can't tell who it's coming from."

"So there is a wizard here. Most likely hired to guard the artifact and probably some other priceless pieces."

"We'll try walking around and seeing if we can get anymore inform-"

"Heartfilia!?"

Lucas jumped and turned on his heel to come face to face with an older woman.

"I would know that blonde hair anywhere, you're Mr. Jude's son," Lucas was puzzled, so the woman pressed on. "Oh you probably won't remember me, I used to do business with your father. We met when you were very small. But your hair, every Heartfilia has that same unique golden blonde hair."

"O-Oh, I'm sorry I don't recall you Miss."

"Oh that's quite alright! I'm glad you're doing well, after hearing about your parents...such a tragedy." The woman sighed, eyes planted to the floor.

"Uhm yes, thank you."

"And I also see you have a husband? Or fiancé? Very nice to meet you." The woman smiled, holding out her hand for Natsu to shake. Natsu grinned and shook it violently.

"Fiancé actually, nice to meet cha!"

"Such a lively boy!" She giggled. "Does that mean you've taken up business. I heard you joined a wizard guild but that must of been just a rumor then?"

"Yes, of course. You see- oh! The time, we better get going Natsu, we want to mingle around a bit more before the event starts."

"Oh don't let me stop you, enjoy your time here, you two. And do invite me to that wedding of yours!" She shouted as the two walked away. Lucas fought the urge to blush at the mention of a wedding.

"So, who was that lady?"

"No idea."

"You guys," Gray cut in. "We're in. Happy and the others are set up too. We just need word from you when it's safe to go."

"We'll let you know when the auction starts. That way we can make a distraction while everyone is focused on one thing."

"And what kind of distraction are we going for?" Lucas asked Natsu with a raised brow.

"I'm gonna punch someone."

"Bad idea! I can't even fully explain in a ten page essay why that's an absolutely terrible idea!" Lucas scolded.

"Then what do you suggest, oh great Lucas?" Natsu mocked.

Lucas grinned. "Lover's spat."

"Lame."

"Shup up!"

"Ladies and gentlemen!" A voice announced as the lights began to dim and those who were standing took a seat. Natsu and Lucas quickly took their seats and stayed quiet to Erza and Gray could hear. "We welcome you to our fifth annual auction!"

Claps sounded the ballroom as a man appeared on stage.

"He's not the wizard..." Lucas whispered.

"The wizard has to be behind that curtain guarding the artifacts." Natsu added.

"Shall we go?" Erza asked.

"Yes, but slow and steady. This place is crawling with guards. We'll set off our distraction in about five minutes."

"Right!" Erza and Gray nodded. They began moving throughout the halls, knocking out any guard in their path.

"We really going through with this lover's spat plan?" Natsu sighed, watching the clock.

Three minutes.

"Do you have a better plan?"

"Actually, yes. Have Loke knock down that south wall."

"What? Are you crazy?"

"He can pose as the wizard coming to take back the artifact. The wizard in hiding will step out and fight him while Erza and Gray grab it."

"I hate when you have good ideas."

"Why? Does it make you insecure?" Natsu smirked, looking Lucas in the eye.

"No, because it makes me like you more." Lucas replied, holding up Loke's key. "Hope you heard all that Loke. Now come on out on my count."

Thirty seconds.

"The first item we will be auctioning off is-"

Ten seconds.

"An artifact found in an archeological dig-"

"3...2...1, go!"

Lucas wasn't prepared by the blast that followed after. He fell to the ground, hands covering his head.

"Dammit Loke!" Natsu scoffed, hovering over Lucas's body as debris pelted his back.

"A little overboard don't you think!" Lucas yelled, although it was ignored by Loke.

"I've come to take back the artifact you stole!" He glared at the auctioneer and pointed at him, readying to launch himself.

"I knew that stupid old man would hire some pesky wizards guild. So I decided to do the same!" At that moment, a man jumped from the shadows and faced Loke.

"So you're the magic power I was feeling this entire night." The wizard grinned, the ground rising along with him.

"Earth magic," Lucas mumbled. "Loke, be careful..."

"Gray! Erza! How are you guys doing!?" Natsu shouted out, among the screams of the participants.

"We got the artifact! We're handing it to Happy and the others now!"

"Yes! Let's get out of here!" Lucas yelled, allowing Natsu to pick him up off his feet. They blended with the running crowd, making sure they ran in the direction of their meet up spot. Once they were far enough, Lucas had Loke go back to the celestial world.

"Wow, an actual success with minimal damage this time." Gray grinned, hopping in the wagon they hid among the trees.

"Yes, I'm glad. Good work using Loke as the distraction." Erza smiled. "Although I was hoping it would be a distraction that didn't result in any damage."

"Well, it was Natsu's idea." Lucas smiled, patting the sickly dragon slayer on the back.

"That makes much more sense." Erza sighed.

They traveled back to the museum shortly, and saw Wendy, Charle, and Happy waiting. Along with a very very happy museum owner.

"Oh thank you thank you. It's back in one piece!"

"I'm glad this mission was a success." Erza smiled, taking the reward money from the man.

"I as well." He grinned.

...

"I'm glad we were able to find a nearby hotel to stay for for night. I wasn't sure I would be able to make the trip home." Lucas sighed, turning to Plue who shakingly held onto his leg. He had just gotten finished with a shower.

They had decided to split two rooms. Gray, Lucas, Happy, and Natsu in one while Wendy, Charle, and Erza took the other. Lucas decided to stay behind as the others went to pick up some dinner.

The only problem being...Lucas swore Natsu tagged along.

So why was he sitting on Lucas's bed?

The blonde practically jumped three feet in the air. "Natsu! Don't startle me like that!"

"Sorry" He grinned, not sorry at all.

"What are you doing here anyway, I thought you were practically starving."

"Well yeah, but I couldn't just leave you here all by yourself."

"Ah," Lucas's heart began beating rapidly at his words. "I see, well that's awfully nice of you." He muttered, sitting next to the dragon slayer as he used his towel to dry his hair. Suddenly, Natsu took the towel away and threw it on the floor.

"Hey!"

Lucas immediately went quiet as Natsu slipped his fingers into Lucas's hair, his hand hot.

Was he...drying his hair?

"That flimsy towel won't do much." Natsu replied under his breath.

"Oh."

"Oh?"

"I mean, thank you."

His face was so close, Lucas didn't know what to say or do. Natsu chuckled at Lucas's expression.

"Hey."

"Hm?" Lucas couldn't bring himself to say anything else. He hesitantly looked into Natsu's onyx eyes.

"You really are troublesome," The pyro sighed, slowly lowering his head to rest it on Lucas's shoulder. Planting his hand from his hair to his waist.

"I-I don't get it..."

"What you said, back when we were at that manor."

"No, because it makes me like you more."

"I've been thinking about that for hours now."

"S-Sorry."

"Don't apologize idiot," Natsu laughed. He lifted his head and faced the blonde. He brushed his bangs back from his eyes and smiled. "Hold still for me, will ya?" Natsu's eyes closed hesitantly as he leaned down.

Lucas copied his actions.

And their lips met after what felt like an eternity.

Until it was completely ruined.

"Lucas! Natsu! We brought food!" Wendy shouted, opening the door to their room. As the scene before her was completely etched into her mind forever, she dropped the bag of food. "I'm sorry!" She closed her eyes quickly and turned away.

Lucas gasped and pushed Natsu off so that he fell completely from the bed.

"We weren't doing anything!"

"For Mavis sake, Luke!" Natsu grunted, sitting up to glare at the blonde who was busy trying to explain the situation to Wendy.

"See I told you guys!" Happy laughed, expression smug as he was handed Jewel by everyone except for Wendy.

"Totally thought that Flame Brain would chicken out." Gray pouted.

"Well we assumed Lucas would Lucas Kick him out of town for even trying." Charle sighed as Erza nodded.

"I told you! Nothing happened! Tell em Natsu!" Lucas pleaded, turning to Natsu who was still on the floor, resting on his elbows.

"Oh yeah, about how you came onto me?"

"Traitor! I did not!

Natsu laughed as Lucas cried comically. He had quickly realized something the moment he met the blonde.

That no matter what form Lucas took,

Natsu would of always fallen for him.
