IRREVOCABLE
(adj.) not able to be revoked, changed, or undone; unalterable

Early morning, Elizabeth wakes up with the realization that the plans were finally set and preparations for her art show will be underway soon enough. As of today, however, she is currently unemployed. Having looked over her paintings and sculptures, her boss has decided that her efforts will be best placed in creating more artwork. If her current collections are any indication, this will be but the first of many art shows to come. The movers will be at the villa to collect her art pieces in a couple days. After which, advertisement and invitations will be sent out in preparation for the art show, her boss promising to hold up her end of the deal tenfold.

"Morning," Elizabeth greets Johnny who is currently in the kitchen making breakfast. "You're up early."

"Got hungry," Johnny admits, sliding over a cup of hot cocoa, smiling at her look of confusion. "You always get up early on the weekends."

"Thanks," Elizabeth says with a soft smile, taking the cup into her hands. "Need help?"

"Nah, I'm almost done," Johnny replies. "Besides, I think you earned an easy day after the work you put in to finish the last pieces for your collection."

"That did take me quite a while," Elizabeth agrees, having been surprised that she was able to get it all done in time, giving them enough time to dry. "I'm just glad it's done."

Before they could talk much more about it, Marco comes walking into the kitchen holding a letter from Jason in his hands, handing it off to Elizabeth a moment later. Though seeing a letter from Jason always puts a smile on her face, the look on Marco's face sent an entirely different feeling flooding through her. It was like he was trying to find a way to tell her something without sending her into panic mode. Which, in turn, made her feel like going into a panic right there.

"What is it?" Johnny questions, seeing Elizabeth go pale and Marco fidget with thought. "What happened?"

"There was a fire in the main warehouse," Marco explains, taking a deep breath. "Sonny was trapped inside. Jason barely managed to get him out before the building collapsed."

"Is Jason okay?" Elizabeth questions him, rising to her feet when he hesitates to answer. "Marco, is my husband okay?"

"Answer her," Johnny states, seeing it was clearly not good news. "What's Jason's status?"

"He's in the hospital," Marco concedes. "Doesn't look good."

"We're going back," Elizabeth states sternly. "I don't care what it takes, but we are leaving now."

"The boss said..." Marco tries to tell them what Sonny said, but it was clear Elizabeth wasn't going to hear him either way. Neither was Johnny.

"Get what you need," Johnny tells Elizabeth, grabbing his phone from the table. "It'll take an hour at most."

"Mr. Corinthos said we shouldn't bring her back to town," Marco explains to Johnny once Elizabeth's out of the room, knowing full well that neither of them cared at this point. "He said Jason wouldn't want her to come back like this."

"I don't give a damn what Sonny wants," Johnny states firmly. "Jason's in a bad way and Elizabeth needs to be by his side. End of discussion."

Ordering him to wake up Kyle and to be ready to leave in ten minutes or less, Johnny places a call to his friend to see just what the state of things are in Port Charles, informing Francis that they'll be there in about twelve hours. Johnny wasn't at all surprised to find that Francis had already made the necessary arrangements to have them flown back to town. Clearly his friend knew as well as he does that Elizabeth wouldn't be staying put once she found out about Jason. The plane is already fueled and waiting for them at the airport. Once they land in Port Charles, Francis will be there at the airport to drive them to the hospital.

"Francis made the arrangements, plane's ready when you are," Johnny informs her as she zips up her bag. "We can leave now, if you're ready."

"I'm ready," Elizabeth says without hesitation, walking past him to the front door. "Let's go."

Driving as fast as he could to get them to the plane, they board the plane in less than ten minutes before settling in for the long flight ahead. They know the dangers of returning to town, especially with Jason in his condition, but none of them could focus on that now. They'll do what needs to be done to keep her safe, but it was clear to all of them that where Elizabeth needed to be now more than ever is by her husband's side. Elizabeth knows the state of things and what awaits her when she returns, but she couldn't care less. Carly be damned, she is going home and she is going to be there for her husband.

"Francis," Johnny greets him when they land in Port Charles, wishing they were seeing each other again on better circumstances.

"John," Francis greets him back, a look of understanding exchanged between the two before he turns to Elizabeth. "Mrs. Morgan."

"Francis," Elizabeth looks at him skeptically. "Really?"

"Had to say it at least once," Francis replies simply before hugging her gently. "Come on. I know you want to get to him as soon as possible."

"I do," Elizabeth confirms, climbing into the passenger seat before buckling in for the ride ahead.

Marco and Kyle are both a little newer to the game than Francis and Johnny, which explains why they both were a little put off about defying Sonny's orders, but the other two know better than that. They know what needs doing, regardless of the orders set before them, times like these being the exceptions as far as defying direct orders are concerned. Until Jason is out of the woods and able to order them to take Elizabeth back, Port Charles is where they'll stay. Making their way to the hospital, Johnny has Marco and Kyle station themselves at the elevators before he and Francis guide Elizabeth to Jason's room.

"Emily," Elizabeth voices when she walks into the room to find her by Jason's bedside alone.

"Liz," Emily sighs in relief, walking right into her friend's waiting arms. "I'm so glad you're here."

"I..."

"It's okay," Emily assures her, pulling away to meet her eyes. "Truly. It's okay."

"Thank you," she whispers, tears welling up in her eyes though she tries to fight it. "How is he?"

"Doctor won't tell me much," Emily admits sadly. "He made it that way in his file. Now that you're here, maybe we can get actual answers."

"Yeah, okay," Elizabeth shakes her head. "Would you mind getting the doctor for me?"

"Of course," Emily assures, reaching out a hand to hold hers reassuringly. "I'll be right back."

Smiling softly, Elizabeth waits long enough for her to leave before she lets out a deep sigh, allowing herself to feel everything building up inside of her at the sight of Jason hooked up to the machines. Carefully lowering herself into the chair by his bed, Elizabeth gently takes his hand in hers, seeing a few spots where the fire got a little too close for comfort. His hands bandaged from lifting the beam off of Sonny. Seeing him like this, vulnerable and defenseless, Elizabeth's heart broke, knowing him the way she does and seeing just what that fire brought him to.

It didn't take long for Emily to return with the doctor in tow, something Elizabeth was thankful for, needing answers now more than ever. Once the doctor is able to confirm her identity, he breaks down her husband's condition for Elizabeth to understand just what kind of fight lies ahead for her husband. The fact that Jason is a lot worse off than the man he went into the warehouse to save made Elizabeth more than a little angry with Sonny, but she knows that won't help her husband any. What's done is done. All that's left is for her to ensure that her husband is taken care of and he makes a full recovery. Nothing else matters beyond that.

"We've had his visitation limited to family only," the doctor explains. "As per his condition as well as his file. Did you want to keep it that way or open it to others?"

"If that's what my husband wanted then that's what he'll get," Elizabeth counters, understanding now why Sonny and Carly aren't crowding his bed. "Leave his visitor log as is."

"Understood," the doctor accepts. "I will update you as soon as his tests come back."

"Thank you," Elizabeth replies before turning back to her husband once the doctor leaves. "You better keep fighting, Jason, because I'm not giving up on you. Not by a long shot. You hear me?"

"He's a fighter, Liz," Emily reminds her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Besides, he has so much to fight for and he knows it."

"Yeah," Elizabeth whispers, one hand holding Jason's and the other holding Emily's hand on her shoulder. "He's not a quitter and he's not about to start now."

Emily stays for a few hours, keeping her company, before assuring Elizabeth that she'll be back again soon. With Jason's visitors being limited, she needed to get back to the house to update the family on Jason's condition before they storm the hospital playing the Quartermaine card. While she sits by Jason's side, Francis and Johnny are facing Sonny for bringing Elizabeth back to town. The reprimand didn't last too long because they both know Sonny didn't have a leg to stand on. Especially since he wasn't on the list of visitors allowed in to see Jason or hear of his condition. Leaving all medical decisions to Elizabeth. Something she needed to be in town to accomplish.

"I got your letter," she whispers to him, gingerly holding his hand in hers. "I love you, too, Jason. You can't leave me now. Not after everything we've been through. This isn't where we end, you hear me? This isn't the end."
