A/N: I absolutely love Pooh and Friends. Eeyore is my favorite. Just thought this was cute...
Honey
Harm steps out of the shower with a navy-blue fluffy towel wrapped around his waist, and a smaller one around the back of his neck. On his way to his closet for his uniform, he spots something propped up on his side of the bed out of the corner of his eye. It is rather large and fluffy, yellow, and appears to have something red near its middle section. He knows it wasn't there when he went in the shower.
All of a sudden, he becomes extremely concerned, wondering what wrath is he going to face when he makes it down to the kitchen. He obviously must have forgotten something very important. He idly starts running through miscellaneous dates in his head. Is it their anniversary? Negative. It's not his birthday, not Mac's birthday, not either of the kids' birthdays. Their first date? Nope. The day the met? No, not that either. After wracking his brain for several minutes, he still can't come up with any significance to today.
He cautiously walks over to the plush thing, hoping there is some kind of a note or card that will clue him in. When he reaches the item in question, he doesn't find any hints regarding what the item is for. However, he does notice after closer inspection that it is a bear, wearing a red shirt, and holding a honey pot. He thinks back to his own childhood days, and fondly remembers that this specific bear is Winnie the Pooh.
Hmm, maybe Mac is trying to tell him something. Either that or it is a gift for one of the kids, and she is hiding it in their room. But why would she leave it in plain sight? He decides he isn't going to come up with any answers on his own, and will have to have his wife clue him in. She certainly does seem to get a kick out of keeping him in the dark every once in a while. Although, some of her mysterious ways are definitely part of the reason he fell in love with her in the first place.
He finishes getting dressed, and wanders down to the kitchen to find his son tossing Cheerios in his high chair, and his daughter & wife eating eggs and bacon. He walks over and gives Mac a kiss good morning. She returns the gesture wholeheartedly and gives him a wink, "Sorry honey, I didn't save any bacon for you."
Harm teases back, "Like I would eat any of that artery clogging stuff anyways. Maybe we should get a dog so you stop feeding it to our kids!"
His daughter gives him a combination of the marine death glare and a wide smile, "I'd love a puppy, Daddy, but he can't have my bacon!"
Mac shakes her head at both of them as she tells Harm, "Your shake is already in the blender when you are ready."
She's joking with him, so he doesn't think she is angry with him for any reason. That just perks his curiosity even more to the significance of the bear. He whispers in Mac's ear, so the children don't hear in case it is a secret, "Care to let me in on the secret?"
Mac quirks her eyebrow at him in question.
He whispers, "The item on the bed….Did I forget something?"
Mac laughs, "Oh Harm! I just thought it was a cute way to let you know that home is where your honey is."
He is touched. She was right all those years ago. Sometimes he does make simple things way too complicated. The simple ways that his wife shows him that she loves him never ceases to amaze him. He'll have to come up with a quirky way to let her know he feels the same.
