Yellow eyes stared down at her, a growl admitted from Remus' throat as he looked her over. He moved quicker then Kaira anticipated the next thing she knew he had crossed the room and pinned her arms above her head pinning her against the wall. He took in a deep breath as he looked at her.
"You smell like other werewolves" Remus growled at her, his eyes becoming slightly more yellow. Kaira had seen this side of Remus before, when the full moon was too close the wolf tended to take more control meaning he became more territorial.
"I had to do something" Kaira knew their was no point in lying he would smell it on her.
Remus looked as if he was about to say something when his eyes looked above her head to her arms. Kaira craned her neck to see what he was looking at, the mark. She looked back to him seeing confusion written across his face.
"What is that?" He questioned as his grip on her arms tightened, "I didn't do that too you but it smells like me"
"It's nothing, don't worry about it" Kaira tried pulling her arms out of his grip but he held tight.
"It's not nothing Kaira. This is a marking, I might not know a lot about werewolves but I know what that is and according to the smell coming off it. It's from me" Remus remarked, his eyes had turned back to their normal colour but his face was hard as he looked at her.
"You won't believe me if I told you" Kaira said quietly as she looked up at him.
"Try me" Remus' eyebrow rose as he loosened his grip on her arm.
"I'm not from here"
"No really!" Remus said to her sarcastically, "Like, I didn't already know that"
Kaira rolled her eyes, "I'm not from this time. I'm from 22 years in the future, I was sent by someone to change the past with Hermione and Draco"
Remus looked at her for a second before bursting out laughing, "That's impossible there isn't anyway to time travel back that far"
"You're a werewolf and Sirius, James and Peter are animagus, they became animagus in their fourth year in order to be with you on the full moon because it makes it easier on you" Kaira rushed out. Remus looked at her for a second.
"You shouldn't be able to know about any of that"
"You four sneak around the castle using the Marauders Map which you also made during your fourth year"
Remus was silent for a really long time as he looked at Kaira, he stepped back moving to one of the small sitting rooms chairs. He had calmed down considerably as he was taking it in. This girl was from the future.
"Why where you sent back here?" Remus asked after a few minutes of silence.
Kaira moved sitting on the lounge close to Remus, she rubbed her hands over her face thinking. How was she supposed to tell him without giving to much away.
"Our future was horrendous. A lot of people died and when it was all over, a lot of people where in a really harrowing places. Myself included" Kaira explained. "When this girl came to us and gave us the opportunity to change everything I didn't hesitate even tho I knew what it involved"
"How do you know me in the future?"
"Your best friends with my father, I've been around you my entire life" Kaira explained quietly, tho she didn't need to explain that Sirius had actually been in jail for most of her life.
"Sirius is your father" Remus stated rather then questioned, it wasn't hard to see the resemblance.
"He is, kind of hard to see, hey" Kaira smirked. Remus merely nodded as he glanced at her more intently.
"When did I do that to you?" Remus pointed to the Mark.
"I cant tell you when exactly but it was after my 17th birthday"
"Why did you let me do this too you?" His voice rose slightly, his face was becoming more and more pale as he thought over this information. He quickly calculated that he would have been well into his late thirties when he did that to her. Remus started shaking his head as pure horror spread across his face, his mind was racing with this.
"Don't you dare!" Kaira snarled as she knew exactly what he was thinking, she knew how this was going to play out and this was why she hadn't wanted him to find out.
"I know exactly what your thinking, and you have to stop. When this happened we both wanted this. The Mark is important to me, I would rather die than have this taken away from me. You will understand in the future why you need to do this"
"Is it because of the War in the future, that I was given no option to do this to you?" Remus questioned distress in his voice.
"You think you did this because of a war, you know why you did this. You know why wolves do this" Kaira told as her voice gave the evidence of anger. "You have no idea how much this means to me, how it saved me and kept me fighting. Having you with me made me strong enough to deal with everything the War threw at me. It kept me alive Remus. You have no idea, you haven't even been through the first war yet. You have no idea what we are going to lose"
Remus watched as Kaira's expression changed to one of sadness, his heart ached at this, he wanted nothing more then to hold her and take her pain away. But he knew he couldn't do this, he didn't deserve to be able to hold her.
Remus went to speaker but stopped short as he heard two sets of feet heading towards the studies door, and only moments later Sirius and James burst through the door looking miffed at the sight of Kaira.
"Moony, what the hell are you doing in here?" Sirius roughly questioned as his eyes darted between Kaira and Remus. Remus opened his mouth to tell them when Kaira grabbed onto his wrist tightly.
"You can't tell them anything Remus, please" She pleaded to softly for either Sirius or James to hear.
Remus pulled his arm out of Kaira's grip moving towards the door, he merely walked past James and Sirius. The two boys gave the werewolf a confused look before following after, Kaira ran her hands over her face, things had just gotten so much more confusing.
After pondering on her thoughts for half an hour, Kaira went to find Hermione and Draco, but instead she came across Grace cleaning the kitchen up. Grace offered her a soft smile as she gestured for Kaira to have a seat at the breakfast bar.
"I won't be able to get much sleep until Harold gets back" Grace says as she wipes down the benches.
"It's understandable, you've been married for a long time" Kaira says as she looked at the older witch.
"Harold the old romantic, would go on and on about how he was in love with me from the moment we started school together. I didn't notice him till we where in our 5th year I think it was, by that age I was already engaged to one of the other pure blood families.
"But Harold wouldn't have it, and to be completely honest I didn't want to marry someone my parents picked out for me. So we started dating and my family disowned me. I had secretly been stashing away funds so I didn't hesitate to leave and since then Harold has been by my side"
"He's an amazing man, it must be where James get it from" Kaira smirked as she remembered several of James' failed attempts at wooing Lily through the year.
"Yes, I've heard much about the beautiful Lily Evans. James has been quiet smitten with her for a while now. I just hope he is being a gentleman" Grace smiles soft, "I raised him to be a gentleman and if I find out he's being anything but that boy will suffer greatly"
Kaira glanced over the older women, this had been one of the rare times she had seen Grace Potter look like her true Black heritage. It had been the same with Andromeda, while Andromeda looked a lot like Bellatrix she didn't have the black personality traits.
She was a soft heart, but attack Nymphadora or Ted in anyway you seen the Black Heritage seeping through. It was a side Kaira, herself tried to keep buried. She didn't want to be like Bellatrix even though she knows she had come very close to it many times.
"You aren't able to hide from who you really are Sweetheart. It seems to be one of the many things you and Remus have in common" Grace tells Kaira as though she was reading the younger witches mind.
"He fights what he is" Kaira muttered. Grace gave a sigh and walked around the kitchen counter sitting into the stool next to Kaira.
"His father has made him that way, I've know Remus's father for a long time and when Remus was bitten Lyall isolated Remus. He and Hope moved Remus around a lot and while it was no fault of theirs they weren't good at hiding their fear. I think this is when Remus started to hate himself"
"I didn't realise it was that bad for him" Kaira mumbled, while Remus had told her small things in the future about his life he never mentioned his parents.
"I'm glad he is friends with James, Sirius and Peter. I met him a few times before he started at Hogwarts, he was extremely shy and held back from everyone but since being at school he's become more at peace with himself"
"He still doesn't accept himself, and if he doesn't it will just make the changes worse on him" Kaira mumbled somewhat defeated, she remembered what he was like in the future.
"Then teach him to accept himself, the boy is as stubborn as a hippogiff but I know if anyone can get him to it would be you my dear. He looks at you with so much passion and love, it's a very strange look to see on someone so young" Grace leaned forward placing her hand on Kaira's in comfort. "Don't give up on that boy dear, he deserves a strong girl like you".
Kaira was about to say something else when the coin in her pocket started vibrating. She excused herself from the room giving Grace a small smile and moved towards the stairs. She looked through the many rooms trying to find Hermione and Draco. She could hear the three Marauders laughing in one of the rooms which she assumed was James' bedroom.
Once she had finally found them, she found Hermione and Draco sound asleep on a double bed. Hermione had her head buried in Draco's chest with him having both his arms wrapped around her. Kaira softly moved closer to the bed, she poked Draco in the should a couple of times until his arms started blinking open.
Holding a finger to her lip Kaira jerked her head towards the door, gesturing for him to follow her out into the hallway. Once they had both tip toed out and closed the door behind them, Kaira pulled the ring out of her pocket.
"You don't need to go back right now" Draco whispered.
"I promised that I would go as soon as he let me know"
"Kaira it's the middle of the night"
"I have to go Draco" Kaira told him.
"Fine, give me a few and I'll come with you"
"No, stay with Hermione she might need you if she has a nightmare" Kaira gave a teasing smile as she gestured towards the door with a jerk of her head.
"I think she still hates me" Draco mumbled as he ran his hand through his hair.
"I don't think she hates you as much as she used to" Kaira patted his shoulder in reassurance before giving his a nudge towards the door. Once he was back inside she turned and started down the stairs but she was stopped only a few steps down by a hand grabbing at her upper arm.
Turning she found Sirius and James looking at her suspiciously, they pulled her back up the stairs and into who she assumed was James room. The room was decorated in Gryffindor colours and by the looks Grace had conjured more beds for the room.
"Where are you going so late?" Sirius demanded, Kaira's eyebrow rose at him. Tilting her head slightly.
"Why would I be going anywhere?" Kaira faked confusion at the boys.
"Cut the act we heard you and Draco talking in the hall, you're going to meet someone" James says as he twirls his wand through his fingers.
"And the way you act towards certain people at the Malfoy Ball, I wouldn't be surprised you working for them" Sirius hissed as his wand hand twitched like he would be read to attack.
Kaira softened slightly, these were scared boys. These weren't the people she knew in the future, though she never knew James. She looked behind the boys at Remus who was looking at his feet whilst he sat on one of the beds.
"What you saw at the Malfoy Ball, Sirius was me using who I am to get information. You don't realise how much power you actually had as a Black" Kaira said softly. "If you wish to know who I'm meeting you're more then welcome to come along but you'll all need more suitable clothing"
"What's wrong with what we are wearing?" James accused. Kaira moved to the wardrobe looking through the clothing.
"If all three of you are coming then you need to change into these" Kaira told them as she pulled out jeans and black shirts. Hurry up and get changed, we need to go to my place before we head off".
She waited outside the room for them to get changed, she snuck them down stairs and past Grace back to the sitting room she had snuck out of earlier. Once she was sure they where far enough away from the Potter house Kaira turned to them.
She pulled a bracelet out from her pocket, feeling the magic vibrate in her hand.
"It's a Portkey to home" Kaira explained, she had Draco make up several different types of Portkeys for situations like this and she was thankful to have made a few made for the bar as well. Knowing a situation like this one would arise at some point.
James and Sirius looked hesitant for a few moments but Remus was the first to reach for it. She offered him a small smile as he wrapped two fingers around it. The two other boys exchanged looks before doing the same thing.
They took off moments after all four of them were touching the bracelet. Moving quickly through the air, then before long landing on the ground in front of Alphard's house. Kaira let herself in telling the boys to make themselves at home while she darted up stairs to change. Sirius took no time throwing himself on the closest lounge chair in the sitting room while Jame and Remus took a few more minutes settling down. They heard Kaira walking around in the bedroom upstairs.
"What's going on?" Sirius looked at Remus.
"How would I know?" Remus questioned back dodging the original question.
"Because you seem to know more then your letting on" James said as he looked towards his wolf friend.
"She came back earlier smelling like other werewolves. I think that's where we are heading to now" Remus told them.
"You can smell things like that?" James asked a small child like fascination crossed his face.
"Lately I've been able to smell a lot more things " Remus mumbled as he heard Kaira walk down the stairs. She came down wearing tight leather pants, a tight leather crop top and a leather jacket that was a little bit lose on her.
Remus looked her up and down as he took in her appearance, a side of him took great pleasure in seeing her dressed so provocative but another side was disgusted with himself at the thoughts that crossed his mind as he remember just who she was.
Kaira ushered them out the door now that she was ready and produced another portkey. Once all three of the boy and herself had a hold on it they vanished from in front of Alphard's house and appeared in the same street she had been in earlier.
She walked ahead of them as she approached the door. The two wolves guarding the door looked her up and down again before looking at the boys behind her. Remus was tense under there intense stare as they watched him before giving a nod and allowing them in.
Remus sensors went into overdrive as he entered the bar, the amount of wolves that where in the one area made his head start to spin. He moved closer to Kaira subconsciously as he watched eyes turn towards her, her appearance got her a lot of attention from many of the men in the room that he didn't like. He was already on edge being so close to the full moon, his agitation levels were at a new high with all the information he'd received in the past few hours.
He watched as Kaira leaned against the bar telling something to the bartender before watching him disappear up a corridor. He could hear Sirius and James talking quietly behind him about the bar and never knowing there was a bar for werewolves before. Both boy didn't seem to mind that they where getting attention for being neither a werewolf or mate. The trio walked over to where Kaira leaned against the bar her arms crossed over her chest. Her face was stoic as she flicked her eyes around the bar.
"How did you find this place?" James question as he got close enough.
Kaira's eyes flicked quickly to Remus before landing back on James.
"A friend of mine brought me here a while ago" Kaira told him her eye flicking to the corridor, she felt Remus tense beside her as Alister appeared, she could understand why Alister did resemble his father a great deal. The only real difference between the two was the eyes, Alister's eye weren't distorted by his wolf form like his fathers were.
Alister's approach stalled slightly as he took in that Kaira hadn't come alone this time but as he took in the trio with her the only one that worried him was the wolf with them.
"You didn't come alone Kaira" Alister stated as he leaned against the bar with her.
"Remus has never been to a wolf bar before he was curious, the other two come as a package" Kaira lied so easily, she while she would tell Alister when they were in his office what they trio where really doing here the rest of the bar that was eavesdropping didn't need to know the truth.
"Shall we get down to business" Alister gestured to the corridor, Kaira smiled softly as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a fist full of gallons and put it on the bar.
"Their underage, so no alcohol" Kaira said as she gesture to the boys before following Alister up the corridor.
Remus stood there clenching and unclenching his fist as he watched Kaira disappear his temper was walking a very thing line. He tried to concentrate on Sirius trying to convince the bartender that he was actually of age but was failing miserably at doing so. After a length debate with the bartender the trio was finally given three glasses of pumpkin juice much to Sirius dismay.
"Mate, did you honestly think he was going to believe you" James chastised Sirius giving him a slap on the back. He turned his attention to Remus finding her wolf friend extremely tense. A guy walked up to stand beside Remus as he ordered his drink.
"That bitch your's kid?" The guy questioned, James jumped as he watched Remus move quicker then he's ever seen him before grabbing the guy by his shirt.
"The fuck's it to you?" Remus snarled out, everyone in the bar seemed to freeze at this. James and Sirius froze for a second before moving to try and intervene. The guy Remus had grabbed shoved him back against the bar causing both boys to hold in their movement.
"Bitch like needs a proper wolf" The guy smirked but it quickly dropped as Remus shoved him particularly hard backward causing him to nearly lose his footing. Almost snarling as Remus grabbed the guy again and shoved him forcefully into the bar. His eyes had flashed yellow as his wolf takes over his movements.
James jumped as he watched the change in his best friend grabbing Remus around the shoulders trying to pull him away.
"Remus, mate calm down" Sirius said as he put a hand against his best friends chest.
"Yeh that's it bitch boy, run away" Remus hand moved to fast for either James or Sirius to react to, just before it was about to hit the guy in the face it was snared by Alister's tight grip bring the ensuing fight to a grinding holt.
Remus's yellow eyes flicked up to Alister's face, another snarl coming up his throat only to be stopped by a smaller hand coming to rest on his arm. His body relaxed and the wolf within him back down as Kaira's touch brought Remus back to the surface.
"What the problem here gentlemen?" Alister questioned as he let go of Remus hand allowing Kaira to grab ahold of it. But Remus was in slight shock as he took in the scene around him, he pulled his hand away from her as his eyes dart around the bar.
"Just telling this boy whats, what Boss" the guy remus had previously had pin against the bar told Alister.
Alister gave the man a weary glance as he looked back at Kaira. He nodded to the two man holding position at the entrance to come grab the guy.
"This is the second time you've caused trouble in this bar mate. Your out for tonight, come back with a bit more of a level head next time" Alister told him as the door guards came and escorted the man from the bar.
"I want everyone to listen to me" Alister called to the remain bar. "Anytime you see this girl come into the bar, you don't see her or anyone else she bring into the bar. You fuck with them you deal with me understood?"
There was a chorus of 'Yes Boss' that went around through out the bar. Alister motioned for the four of them to follow him to his office after he was sure everyone in the bar understood the new rule. Once the four of them were tucked away in the office Alister sat down behind his desk heaving a heavy sigh.
"You need to learn to accept your wolf more kid" Alister said with another sigh to Remus.
"Don't tell me what I should accept, after your father turned me into this monster" Remus snarled at him, James gave an undignified snort.
"Please Remus, you fold your socks, your not a monster" James told him with a small laugh. Sirius nodding his head in agreement clapping his wolf friend on the back.
"Yeh mate your that scary you leave treats out for the house elves" Sirius told him causing a small chuckle to come from Kaira, she didn't know he did that.
"Wolf been worse since Kaira's had been around" Alister stated as he watched Remus head bow in acknowledgment. "Ah, it makes sense now, she's your mate but you haven't bonded yet"
"Wait, What?" James exclaimed as he looked between the three in front of him. He couldn't understand how she could be because he was sure Remus would have told him.
"Remus only found out tonight" Kaira explained to them softly, "When we were in the sitting room together its when I informed him"
"And how long have you known?" Sirius snarled his question at her, she flinched slightly.
"Awhile, I didn't intend to keep it from him but I seen how he acted towards his wolf" Kaira admired while the Remus from her time while still not in tune with his wolf didn't actually have any problem with her being his mate. This Remus did.
"That will be an issues but the really issue the fact that you walk around with a claim mark but an incomplete bond. It irritates the wolf knowing your walking around as completely unclaimed" Alister informed them.
"How do they complete the bond?" James asked with a slight tilt of his head, Kaira's face went red at the thought of them knowing about her soon to be sex life.
Sirius who already guessed at what it would be merely elbowed his best friend in the ribs, james let out an undignified whine rubbing at his ribs mumbling about. Kaira fidget with her hands as she looked down at the ground she could feel Remus eyes on her and she tried her hardest not to look up at him.
"I think we've covered everything now" Kaira mutter to Alister.
"Of course, I'll get back to you with any information I can get" Alister said as he extended his hand to Kaira which she took. Once they had left the office and out into the bar, Kaira gave Alister one final wave before they left.
After getting far enough away and being able to use portkey to go back to Alphard's house, Kaira again disappeared up stairs to get changed while the boys stayed down in the sitting room.
"Mate, what ever she has on you there is no way she's your mate" Sirius told Remus as he took a seat.
"She is. From the first moment we saw her a Diagonally I felt drawn to her" Remus mutter, "Ive cursed her to a life she would never have wanted"
Sirius and James looked at each other they knew how down on himself Remus could get but they had always hoped that when he found a girl he like it would bring out a different side of him.
"Mate" James started putting a hand on Remus' shoulder, "She isn't shying away from you. If anything she seems to want to be closer to you. Why don't you give this a chance, why don't you at least try. Like we said before your not a monster, your our friend Remus"
"Yeh mate, I mean I may not like her very much but if she can make you happy I'm willing to try with her" Sirius smiled at him giving him a smack on the back. "Maybe what the boss wolf said was right, maybe you need to be more in tune with your wolf side"
"I've never wanted to be, he's always had more violent thoughts, more calculated" Remus muttered as he buried his head into his hands.
"What's he like when your around Kaira?" James questioned as he seated himself on the lounge encouraging Remus to sit down beside him.
"He's different. He's quiet and content when she's around. She brings calm to both of us" Remus told them as he thought over the times he had been alone with Kaira how she made him feel content.
"That's a starting point, maybe by accepting the bond between you and Kaira is a great place to start with" James said as he rubbed his chin.
The two other boys gave a nod to this agreeing that starting the next day Remus would start trying to become one with his wolf and Sirius would try to put aside his distrust towards Kaira giving the girl the benefit of the doubt.
