The remaining month and a half of the summer holidays were spent much like the first the only difference was that they had to be more careful when they would choose to go out looking since the Marauders had been joining them for remainder of the holidays.
Alphard had been pleased with this turn of events, he had watched the three kids in his care become like teenagers whenever the Marauders where around. He'd watch Draco disappear with the boys down to play quidditch, he'd watch Hermione help the boys with several of their last minute.
The most noticeable change he had seen was in Kaira, any time the Marauders where around he watched as she became a lighter person. On the night the three boys would stay at his place, he more often than not had found Kaira huddle up in Remus' bed, the boy himself surround her in protective layer of himself.
As they started back at school Alphard was slightly disappointed to not have a house full of noise but he knew there was no other choice.
It was only a few weeks into the school term for them to get into a routine, Hermione had come up with a great idea of shutting any of the drain pipes leading away from the school in order to keep the Basilisk close by for when they had Newt to help catch it.
While it was Hermione and Draco's turns to be running the tunnels Kaira found herself curled up on the lounges of the common room waiting for their return. It was late into the night, the common room had long since be deserted, the fire had become embers and she was researching a possible ways to blind the basilisk.
She was writing notes on a piece of parchment when two hands come in front of her eyes covering them. Two lips came to rest on near her ears.
"Guess who?" Remus whispered into her ear causing a smile to spread across her face. She pulled his hands from her eyes and kissing his palms.
"What are you doing awake?" Kaira asked as she packed away the books that had been resting on the lounge and moving to the coffee table. She noticed his lack of shirt as he wore only night pants once he had come to sit down beside her. She tried to keep her eyes from wondering down his chest and stomach to his snail trail that disappeared into his pants.
Remus' nostrils flared as he watched her eyes roam his body, he found it satisfying that she like looking at him. He often felt self-conscious of people looking at his scares but seeing her watch him.
"I felt like you were awake" Remus muttered at he moved slightly closer to her, brushing some of hair away from her shoulder then leaving his hand on her bare shoulder, she was only wearing a singlet top. He felt her breathing pick up as he touched her.
"Oh, I was just doing some research" Kaira mumbled as moved to throw her legs over his. She was only wearing shorts so Remus' spare hand came to rub her smooth exposed legs causing goose bumps to rise on them.
He could smell what kind of effect he was having on her with every touch and his wolf was becoming more and more unsettled by the smell. Remus gave a small jump when he felt her lips come to plant small kisses on his neck.
"Relax, Remus. You did very well when you kissed me on the train" Kaira mumbled as she nibbled at his jaw up to his ear. Getting a little bit of confidence he brought her face up to his planting a kiss on her mouth and getting her to move so she was straddling his lap. It wasn't long until Kaira started running her tongue against his lips asking for entrance.
As their tongue duelled for dominance she felt Remus' hand ghost around the hem of her shirt, Kaira pulled one of her hands away from where they had been threaded in his hair to his hand at her shirt. Thinking she was going to move his hand away he went to pull back but she moved his hand under her shirt giving him her permission.
He gained more confidence from that, his hand wondering its way up to her breast. He gave it a soft squeeze as his hand cupped the flesh causing a soft moan to flood into his mouth from her. Remus leaned back to look at her, her face was flushed, eyes closed and mouth slightly open and slightly bruised from their kissing.
He gave her breast another squeeze which caused not only a moan in response but her hips buck causing a shiver of friction to run up his spin as she moved against his tightening night pants. The small groan that came from him made a smirk appear on Kaira's face. She did it again causing his spare hand to grip her hip tightly to hold her in place.
"I don't think this is a good idea now" Remus breathed as he removed his hand from her breast and brought it to her other hip. Kaira gave him a pout and leaned forward to lean her head against his shoulder.
"You can't work a girl up like that Remus and just leave her hanging" Kaira mumbled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned back again playing with the hair at the base of his neck.
"Sorry, I just don't want to do things like this in the common room" Remus told her, Kaira gave him a soft smile and made to moved off his lap but Remus kept her firmly in place. "Please don't move just yet"
Kaira's eyes darted down to find Remus at nearly full mask under her, she settle back against his thigh watching the slight blush rise up on his checks. A cheeky smile came across her face as he looked away. She kissed the corner of his mouth.
"It's okay Remus" Kaira said with a small giggle. "I could always help you with that" Kaira whispered into his ear, she heard him gulp before answering.
"No, its okay just give me a few minutes" Remus strained a smile at her.
"It might be better to calm you down if I wasn't sitting on your lap though" Kaira mumbled as she traced a scare on his chest.
"I like having you this close but" Remus told her as he moved his hand to stop her tracing bring it up to his lips and kissing it.
Kaira smiled and leaned forward to rest her head back against his shoulder, she was content in his arms like this. Her eyes grew slowly heavier the longer she stayed there, his hands rubbed gently up and down her back.
They sat like that for well over an hour Remus had just started to nod off to sleep and Kaira had been well and truly asleep when the portrait swung opened and Hermione with Draco in toe walked in.
Kaira bolted up right turning on Remus' lap to look at them causing Remus to jump. Kaira moved slowly off his lap and seated herself on the lounge beside him.
"Ahh, see you had a better night then we did" Draco snarked as he stretched his side.
"Shut up Draco, now that your back I'm going to head up to bed" Kaira said as she moved to pack up all the books. She smiled to Remus as he helped her grab the last few before excusing himself to his own bedroom. Hermione smiled at her knowingly which only got a rude face in return as Kaira disappeared up the stairs of the girls dorm.
Remus had slept a little after his time with Kaira, he'd still managed to wake early on a Sunday morning when he didn't really need too. He could hear Peter snoring in the bed next to him and could tell that Sirius was still asleep but he could hear James moving around in his bed.
Sitting up he looked across the room to find James sitting up in his bed looking through a magazine, a muggle one by the looks of it.
"Hey Prongs" Remus started getting the boys attention, "I need your advice on something"
"Yeh, whats up mate?" James asked back, Remus darted his eyes over to Sirius, who looked to still be sound asleep before moving from his bed over to James settling himself at the end of it.
"It's about Kaira" Remus started James looked at him expectedly. Remus glanced over at Sirius making sure he was still asleep before looking nervously back at James, "How do we…. You know?"
"You know what Moony?" James asked with a small laugh.
"You know….. doing you know" Remus tried give James the hint of what he was talking about. James was quiet for a few moments as he looked at his friend before his face changed to understanding.
"Oh! You mean sex" James exclaimed loudly into the quietness of the room much louder then Remus would have like.
"Keep your voice down Prongs" Remus said as he shhhed him his eyes darting over toward Sirius again to see that the boy hadn't been disturbed.
"So you want to know how to do it?" James asked his friend.
"No, I know what to do with it" Remus said getting slightly annoyed, "I want to know how to work up to it"
"Oh, you know, You kiss and touch each other" James started but was interrupted by a loud groan coming from Sirius.
"Oh my fucking god, amateurs" Sirius groaned as he flung his bed cover back and moved towards James' bed. "Why in Merlin's names are you asking James the virgin for sex advice? It's like the blind leading the blind"
"I know stuff" James protested.
"Yeh? With who prongs? Dreams don't count" Sirius said as he sat himself between the two boys.
"Hey he's asking me for advice not you" James poked Sirius in the shoulder as Remus rubbed his hands over his eyes wishing for a hole to open and swallow him up.
"Yeh, James if he listens to you, he's going to make that poor girls first time a painful experience" Sirius snarked back. "Now listen here Moony, the thing about women, you really need to get them in the mood… hey wait where are you going Moony?"
Remus retreated into the safety of the bathroom away from Sirius, the last he needed was to know he had gotten sex advice from Kaira's father.
Sirius started pounding on the door.
"Remus mate there's no need to be shy about it" Sirius yelled through the door.
"Go away Sirius, I don't want advice from you" Remus said, "It's just wrong"
"She may be my cousin mate but she still a girl" Sirius yelled again through the door a loud groan came from the other side. You have no idea was all Remus could think,
"Please Merlin, just drop it Sirius. I don't want to talk about it anymore" Remus groan, he heard Sirius give a huff and mutter a fine as he moved away from the door.
Remus calmed down from his embarrassment before opening the door and heading back out to his bed. He changed into his clothes and headed down stairs, Sirius still finding this amusing dressed quickly and followed after him. James too followed down to the Great Hall which was surprising full for a Sunday morning. Remus sat himself down at the Gryffindor table trying his best to ignore Sirius.
"Honestly Remus, you can ask me anything mate" Sirius tells him as he pours himself some pumpkin juice.
"Please Sirius, I'm begging here, just stop" Remus groaned again as he hung his head regretting ever opening his mouth.
"Fine, fine" Sirius put his hands up in mocked surrender but a smirk appeared on his lips as he looked towards the entrance of the Great Hall seeing who had just arrived. He watched as Kaira and Hermione walked in deep in conversation with each other.
He waited for the to take a seat before he smiled at Remus.
"Fine, I'll just go talk to Kaira" Sirius told him before darting from his seat towards Kaira. He heard Remus call out towards him.
"Sirius, no no no, Sirius stop" but as Remus moved from his seat Sirius had already sat himself down in front of the girls.
"So, Kaira, our little Remus is a little bit worried about having sex with you" Sirius started not wanting to miss his chance as he could see Remus coming at him from the corner of his eye. Kaira chocked on the tea she had been drinking coughing as Hermione starting patted her back.
"Sirius, I don't think this is any of your business" Hermione said as she continued to pat Kaira's back.
"Nonsense, now Kaira I tried to impart….." Sirius started back Remus hand came across his mouth stopping him.
"I'm so sorry, I tried to stop him" Remus' face was bright red just like Kaira's was. She had stopped coughing but her hands covered her face she nodded acknowledging Remus' words.
"Sirius, I'm going to take my hand away and you're going to stop okay" Remus told the Black heir, Sirius nodded his head. But the moment Remus removed his hand Sirius started up again. Which caused Remus to slam his hand back over Sirius mouth.
"I'm just going to go" Kaira said as she stood from the table. "Find me later Remus" she smiled softly at him before leaving the the Great Hall. Remus released Sirius glaring at the dark haired boy.
"Why can you never drop a subject?" Remus scolded as he moved back to his spot at Gryffindor table. Hermione had been joined by Draco who she was now filling on what had happened.
"I'm a little hurt that you wouldn't come with this to me Remus. I mean you went to James, who's a fucking virgin" Sirius said which caused James to glare not wanting his statues revealed to the entirety of Hogwarts.
"Because it's weird she's you dau…. cousin for Merlin sake" Remus had to catch himself.
"Well not really, I mean I barely know her. I don't really see her as family" Sirius told him with a shrug.
"Trust me Sirius, one day you're going to see her as family and be disgusted that you gave one of your friend's advice on how to have sex with her" Remus told his a he started eating his breakfast. He froze momentarily to think on if Kaira had taken any food with her, he didn't remember seeing her take any. He would have to take her to the kitchens and hope that this made up for the incident with Sirius.
"Okay, I guess if you put it like that. I'll back off but you can always ask me if you need too" Sirius shrugged feeling somewhat dejected at his best friend.
"Padfoot, if it was any other girl I would" Remus tried to comfort him.
Though Sirius really hadn't given up, he would talk to James who would tell Remus later. Peter joined them a little bit later and the four boys set about planing there next big prank. They spent hours trying to think of something original for their sixth year.
The boys spent most of their day on this prank by the time they had agreed on some of the things it was late in the afternoon. Remus' stomach had growled from missing lunch as after they finished breakfast they moved up to their dorm and hadn't come out since.
Remus sat on his bed as he listened to his friends nap, spending a lazy afternoon napping was normal for the Marauders. He had the map spread out in front of him looking it over carefully. He moved through the floors looking for any sign of Kaira. When he finally should her he saw she was sitting in an dead ended corridor on the seventh floor.
Finding this odd he pulled on a pair of shoes and keeping the map in hand moved his way out of Gryffindor Tower and up to the seventh floor corridor. As Kaira came into view Remus found that she was sitting on a stone bench just staring at the wall in front of her.
Her mouth quirked up into a smile as she notice Remus coming towards her, she closed her eyes and concentrated on what she wanted before opening her eyes and looking towards Remus hearing the wall in front of her carved out.
Kaira took his hand when he was close enough and pulled him towards the door. He looked up at the door in surprise before looking down at the Map.
"This isn't on the map" Remus said as he looked at her.
Kaira giggled, "Of course it's not, your future self once told me that because you never had need for it, it never appeared for you. It's the room of requirements" Kaira said as she opened the doors and pulled him into the room.
"It's weird when you say it like that" Remus mumbled as he allows himself to be dragged in.
"It bothers you that I knew what you were like in the future" Kaira mused as she walks into the room. It was dimly lit and had a few lounges scattered around. "The room of requirements is what it says. It will become whatever it is required to become. I wanted a relaxing place for us to talk and this is what it's given me"
Remus took in the room, it wasn't overly big but it was cosy for its size there was a fire off in the distance. He watch Kaira take a seat on one of the lounges closet to the fire.
"You said that we never had need for this room so that's why we never found it but why did you have need of it?" Remus asked as he sat down beside.
"When I was in my 5th year at Hogwarts, we had this awful toad of a women as our defence teacher she along with the ministry believed that we didn't need a practical education, so we were made to stop. Then she tried to overtake the school and at that time the war was starting back up again we didn't want to caught off guard and the some of the Slytherins where getting worse so we needed a safe place to do this. Then one of fellow Gryffindor's came across the Room of Requirements and it became our safe haven"
Remus was quiet for a little while as she spoke, he hadn't seen much of the war as it was now but Kaira, Hermione and Draco always moved around as if they were constantly walking through a graveyard. Their faces would become pained when some people where talked about or when they talked to different people.
"The war in your time was bad enough that the kids still at school felt the need start training for it" Remus mumbled.
"No, it was more that Voldemort was after someone our age that we started learning to fight. Plus, this person he was after always found himself in dangerous situations" Kaira snorted slightly as she thought of all the situations Harry managed to get himself into.
"What is Sirius like as a father?" Remus asked wanting to turn the subject away from war.
"I don't really know" Kaira mumbled as she looked at him. "Something happened when I was young which sent me to live with his cousin Andromeda, so I grew up with them. I didn't really meet Sirius until I was nearly 14 but even that was by accident. He was always a lot more focused on other things when I was around after that so we didn't get much of a chance"
Kaira trailed off after that. She had always put her feelings to the back with it came to her father, she had watched how he treated Harry like a son and paid little mind to her but she would brush it off as Harry's life being in danger and needing someone. But she knew there was always an underline note of jealousy when it came to Harry.
"What could have possibly happened that made him focus on something other than his daughter?" Remus questioned as he looked slightly furious at hearing this.
Kaira looked around, bitting her bottom lip slightly. "The war was starting and well he hadn't been involved in most of my life. I mean for him I went from being this tiny child to being a teenager with issues" Kaira shrugged as she excused him.
Remus looked at her thoughtfully, then he thought about Sirius character. It didn't seem right to him that Sirius would just ignore his daughter, surely after everything he had been through with his own parents he would have been a better parent.
"Don't think too much on it Remus" Kaira told his as she leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek.
"But now it makes sense that you keep Sirius at a distance. You don't want to get hurt again" Remus looked at her softly as he assessed her. He had noticed a while ago that she and Sirius had a lot of similar traits. Their loyalty being one of them though both acted differently with it.
The two spent hours in the room just talking and occasionally making out. When it finally come time to dinner they emerged from the Room of Requirements holding hands and smiling softly to each other. At dinner they got a few looks from the Marauders and became bright red when Sirius patted Remus on the back telling how proud of his he was.
Sorry it's only short guys but hopefully the next one will be longer a lot of things to get though in that one.
