Chapter 5:
The next morning found us sitting at the Slytherin table eating, chatting and waiting for our schedules. "How smart are you really?" Draco asked after swallowing bringing the attention of the other Slytherins that are also at the table.
I gave a small smile towards Draco, "All of my subjects I held back in but you will have to find out how much I held back for yourself." Draco groaned knowing that was all he was going to get out of me while Dudley just kept eating but the new thing was his smirk. While all the other Slytherins seemed to grow with curiosity that was hidden by their masks. But once you have such a mask like mine the others just show everything like they weren't wearing the masks.
When schedules were being passed out Snape practically threw mine at my face before gliding away but it was more like stalking back to his chair. Making Dudley and Draco scowl at the back of Snape also trying to burn him to hell with their stares. I knew Snape was going to have one hell of a time trying to get me alone but then again I would too. Where the hell do these thoughts keep coming from, I just sigh with that thought line. Taking a look at my schedule I couldn't help the smirk that came onto my face when I saw DADA was the first class; time to shock everyone about how much I held back in DADA even with my solid O+.
Coming to sit with a three person seat where I sat between Draco and Dudley wondering what we would be doing today. All the Slytherins now knew something about the fact I was holding back and are all looking at the Grey Trio. But I wasn't worried call me arrogant but I knew for a fact I was at Auror level 2 for the DADA which is beginning level for there is 10 levels.
The slamming of the door made the Gryffindorks jump bringing light/quiet chuckles from the Slytherins. Some Gryffindors growled but that upped the chuckles, "Quiet," Professor Snape said when he was at the front of the classroom. "Today will be working on nonverbal magic with most of," here he paused trying to figure out the word, "you dunderheads unable to do it." He sneered at the Gryffindors while somehow glaring at me from the corner of his eye. "Get to work," Professor Snape snarled at us.
I looked to Draco and Dudley shrugging already knowing how to do this but I didn't know if the others knew how to. "I don't know how to do it," Dudley and Draco said together looking towards me. I nodded to them.
"To use nonverbal spells you have to picture every little detail and the change you wish. For using defense spells and the likes, you have to picture in your mind the words to the spell, who you are aiming at and the outcome," I muttered to them before moving them back and telling Draco to put up a shield. I brought my wand out and thought the words expilliramus aiming towards Draco. The signifying green light shot out of my wand towards the shield Draco put up absorbing my nonverbal spell.
"How can you do that?" Hermione shrieked coming into my personal bubble.
I pushed her back with Draco and Dudley blocking Snape's view, "I thought you were a know-it-all if you can't figure out nobody can." I sneered still looking at Hermione while knowing that Dudley and Draco were smirking.
"Now go away mudblood," Draco said to Hermione making her storm off. The three of us high-fived before I went back towards teaching Draco and Dudley. Once Draco somewhat got nonverbal spells down Snape gave fifty points to Slytherin making the three of us scowl in anger. When the class ended most of the Slytherins were coming around with me and they too were upset and confused as to why Professor Snape was acting this way towards a fellow Slytherin even if he once was a Gryffindor.
The rest of the day past with Draco and the rest of the Slytherins were impressed with what I knew and the fact I didn't care if they played with the Gryffindors except for Neville. Neville was a great friend I thought to myself as I sat eating dinner. Surprisingly or not Draco was getting along rather well with him and kept telling me that I was a great teacher for how much I taught Neville. Neville came to be known as unofficial Slytherin in Gryffindor colors.
The night came and everyone was asleep but my insomnia was kicking in making it near impossible for me to sleep. That's one thing most people at Hogwarts don't know about me making it difficult for me to tell someone for the simple fact that they wouldn't believe me. Though because of my insomnia it made me very well rounded in all of the classes Hogwarts offer even the ones I wasn't in. Plus learning anything and everything I could get my hands on about the wizarding world and the muggle world.
I decided to go to the room of requirement while picking up my invisibility cloak and IPod. Putting the ear buds in I started out of the Slytherin common room listening to Skillet the song being Monster. Thoughts ran through my mind about Tommy boy, Draco who I know has the dark mark on his left arm and Professor Snape. Leading me to think on how to get rid of the dark mark and playing with the idea that paseltounge is the key.
Coming to the room of requirement I paced three times before the door popped up, I went in breathing a sigh of relief once I took the cloak off. The room I was in had two black leather couches, muggle exercise equipment and a table with some snacks and drinks. The walls were a deep forest green color and soft cream carpet for the flooring. Perfect, I thought with a smile changing into exercise clothing.
Changing the music on my IPod to upbeat music I started on the treadmill. The first and only thought I thought was how was the room of requirement able to use muggle equipment? I spent an hour on the treadmill before wrapping my wrists and hands before using the punching bag. Getting my rage and anger out about everything and anything that can anger me. Breathing deeply threw my nose as sweat poured down my face after an hour with the punching bag. Lastly I spent an hour doing yoga to unwind my now sore muscles.
Flopping on the couch I felt sore but in that pleasurable manner slowly drinking a bottle of water. Sarcastic clapping went up with a load roar making my head snap up. Of course, I thought bitterly, it had to be you Snape.
"How is it Potter, that I'm not surprised to find you here?" Snape said leaning slightly back against the door staring at me with blank eyes. The word bloody hell kept running through my mind with a blank face staring back at him. I kept staring at him wondering what I could say as one of Snape's eyebrow rose with each moment. "I'm waiting Potter."
I sigh before rushing out, "I couldn't sleep, insomnia, so I come to try and be able to blow off steam so I can sleep," all in one breath. Se-Snape looked me up and down before the room changed into a sparing room.
"If you want to blow off steam so badly, you could have just asked," Snape muttered sarcastically to me while saying under his breath, "and make you look like a fool." I frowned in slight anger but mostly in exasperation.
"Fine," I sarcastically replied back before hopping onto the sparring stage. "What are the rules?" I asked curiously.
"No Dark Arts and the winner has the person down with no wand," Sev-Snape's look you could tell in his mind he was saying not like you can you dunderhead. I nod my consent feeling giddiness boiling in my gut. I haven't been this excited to have a spar with someone in a long time.
We started almost instantly with mild curses and hexes before I saw the beginning signs of a pattern. I wonder as I dodged to left and went into a roll on the ground to the right how well he knows muggle tactics; he never said I couldn't use what I know. I faked left while throwing a stupefy over towards the right which gave me enough time to bend to my glamorred knife pouch that is around my thigh without Snape seeing. Moving out of the way of a borderline dark cutting curse I quickly put an invisible spell on the knife. This will be my end game.
This strange dance we were in continued for the next five or so minutes before I saw my opening. Snape's stance was shoulder length a part, I took it. I did a dive bomb towards his open legs in the same moment Snape realized what I was up to. I pushed some magic into the push off as he said expelliarmus taking my wand to him as he turned and caught me. "I win Potter," Snape said holding his wand to my throat.
I whispered the counter curse for the invisibility spell and replied, "No, it looks more like a draw to me Professor," digging the knife a little more into his neck drawing his attention to it. Something flickered across Snape's black eyes before it was gone making me think it was pride, before he stood up walking towards the door.
I stood up going towards a water when I was flung across the room landing in a painful heap. "Don't underestimate your opponent Potter," Snape muttered out looking over his shoulder towards me before vanishing through the door just like he came. I stood up looking where Snape used to be before great bellowing laughter tore out of me. Now knowing that this whole duel was just to see what I knew and what I would do. Shaking my head I headed out back towards the Slytherin dorms not hearing Snape award Slytherin fifty points for thinking outside the box.
