Chapter 6:

The week past in a blur of classes while showing my true nature, chatting with Dudley, Draco, the slytherins and the other houses. I was still friends with most of Gryffindors when they realized I was still me. While Hermione and Ronald tried to get anyone and everyone they could who would listen to the 'truth' about how I was becoming a Dark Lord. The professors saw the change I was bringing and they tried to help in any way they could the only one who seemed angry about this change though was Dumbly otherwise the week was more or less normal.

It was now the weekend and to be honest I was bored and thoughts of Sirius started to come back. That is why at this very moment I was in the library researching anything and everything about the veil while hoping that there was some way to get him back. I sat there with a book open with blank eyes not seeing what was written. I was slowly starting to become more and more depressed when I remembered a legend.

Pulling the stack of books towards me I found the book. Opening to the right passage I read it again and again not believing but hoping it was at the very least partially true. When the Ministry first came to be there was a rumor that they had a powerful mage that was able to create a transporting device to the world of the dead. The rumor came to be when muggles started to disappear for no reason. For there were no diseases at this time nor true killers. Months and months passed with no seeming search to find this killer.

When one day the Ministry announced that the killer was caught and executed and the people had nothing to worry about. Many speculated that the killer was pushed through the device. It was just a rumor until the powerful mage came out and told the people the truth. In retaliation the people stormed into the Ministry with a captive of which was the mage. When the people saw the device they pushed the mage through but before they could the mage said "I will be back."

The people shared what the device looked like. They said it was like a mirror or a veil that just gave off a bad vibe. One month passed when people started disappearing again and no one even the Ministry knew who was behind this. After a month people stopped disappearing and many years past when the powerful mage was found dead in front of the Ministry. No one knew if he was the one who killed those people nor did anyone know how he escaped out of the device. In the end it is still a mystery to this day. - Unknown.

The week past slowly for I kept thinking of that legend and what it could mean, Sirius and my growing crush for Severus. While thinking of Severus and yes I can admit his real name in my mind; wondering and pondering a way to make an attempt at apologizing to Severus. Which again lead me of thinking about the legend. These three things buzzed around my mind such as multiple vultures.

I told Dudley and Draco that I would be at the black lake if they needed me being thankful it was a Saturday. I knew that Dudley was concerned about me and I also knew that soon rather than later that Draco would catch on. When I finally reached a cove that sat right against the lake but was also covered by the surrounding trees, fully knowing that I was only a couple hundred yards away from the Forbidden Forest.

I sat there watching the dark ripples of water as a gentle breeze caressed the water. I guess the main reason I am out here though is because I can't deal with all my feelings and need to get at least one major part of my chest. Right now that would be to apologize to Severus but how? How would he know I was genuine? Questions with no real answers.

I must have sat there for a while for when I finally got out of my head it was just starting to get dark out. The fact is simple that I finally had a plan of action for the apology. The second thought that accord dealt with the fact I missed lunch and dinner knowing the fact that both Dudley and Draco would chew me up and spit me out. So I made a detour to the kitchens to get some grub and to talk with Dobby.

Rubbing the pear with my index finger I entered and all at once I was surrounded by excitable house elves. "I wish to speak with Dobby," I called out while the other house elves went back to what they were doing, "how are you doing Dobby?" Kneeling down to look at a good friend.

"I s being goods the great Harry Potter," Dobby answered bouncing up and down which pulled a small smile to my face.

"May I ask for some food Dobby?"

"Of courses Harry Potter," Dobby replied leading me to a small table motioning his hand for me to sit of which I did. Dobby snapped his fingers together and on the table appeared a small five course meal, I glared slightly at Dobby.

"Dobby you know I won't be able to eat all of this," I stated in a deadpan voice.

"Of courses I know Harry Potter that why I have this," Dobby snapped his fingers again and two potions appeared on the table. Taking a closer look I recognized both potions. One being a stomach soother and the other being a stomach liner both supposed to help a malnutrition starvation eat sizeable amounts.

"You brat," I snarled playfully making Dobby laugh and smirk at me. After the potions I dug into this feast of delicious foods, it was times like this that I absolutely love Dobby.

To say the next day would be hard would be an understatement and I couldn't help but feel nervous and afraid of what was to come. Dudley and Draco seemed to know something was going on or wrong but didn't push, instead they tried to get my mind off of what I am going to do. The day passed way too quickly and before I knew it I was sitting on my bed watching Severus leave his room and start his parole. Finally Severus left the dungeons and I waited about five minutes before leaving the common room under my invisibility cloak. When I reached Severus's private rooms I stopped to check for wards and the likes. To say he had powerful wards was the understatement of the year it took me about thirty minutes to disable the warnings that would warn Severus and to create a hole in the wards so I could sneak in.

I checked the map again to see that Severus was at the Astronomy Tower, I sighed in relief. I did a quick look around and was surprised at what I saw. I was in the living room and there was a couch and a black leather chair with a coffee table while the walls were colored in dark green and red wood flooring. I easily spotted the pensive on a bookshelf.

Making sure there was no memories already in the pensive I started to gather all the memories of my life at the Dursleys and what I felt when I saw Severus's memories. Taking my wand I put it to my head and slowly pulled the memories out before dropping them into the pensive. Sadly I forgot how stealthy Severus could be including how fast his stride usually is.

"Mr. Potter," was said in a very calm voice by the door making me freeze not knowing what to do. "And what are you doing Mr. Potter?" Severus snarled out. I looked up to him but quickly looked back down after seeing the barely controlled rage and confusion. "Well considering you won't tell me and you were messing around with my pensive we, both will go in."

Severus grabbed me and before I could say anything I was pushed into the pensive. The memory didn't start immediately making me be able stand and see that Severus was to in the pensive. I stiffened and tried to fight my way out but it was no use Severus held me tight against his body to make sure I couldn't leave.

"Take Harry and RUN!" James Potter yelled making Lily take little Harry and run up to his nursery. The front door burst open and something hit the ground knowing this was James.

"Remember Hadrian that mommy loves you," Lily mumbled before kissing the toddler. "No matter what happens I Love You."

The nursery door blew open showing a man in his sixties, "Move aside mudblood."

"Not Hadrian, no take me instead, no, no, no," Lily kept repeating this still standing in front of Harry's crib even when the man repeated his one sentence twice before he shot of the Killing Curse. Before the curse hit Lily she was able to turn to Harry and say one last time, "I love you," then she was hit and on the floor dead. Than the man turned to Harry and shot the same curse off.

The curse hit but then a golden shield came out of little Harry's pores making the curse rebound to the man. The man could do nothing as it hit making his spirit scream vanishing out the window while unleashing loads of dark magic. The house started shaking making little Harry use the rest of his magic to create a shield around his deceased mom and him before passing out.

I had tears running down my face for this was the most detailed memory of what happened. I looked to see Severus and saw a deep founded guilt and I knew that he was the one who passed along the prophecy. I squeezed Severus's arm before letting go, "I forgive you." Before I could see Severus's reaction the next memory started.

At age three a young Harry stood on a stool making to an outsider believe it was a feast when in reality it was for a walrus, baby killer whale and a horse like woman. They feasted and teased Harry for the simple fact he wasn't allowed to eat any. Afterwards he cleaned the dishes but the baby whale knocked the plate out of his hands before telling the walrus man. The fat man took the small three year olds hand over the stove burner and held it there as the child yelped, pleaded and sobbed but yet he didn't let go. At least not until there was third degree burns on the child and the man threw little Harry in the cupboard saying to keep quiet.

"I still have the scars," I whispered sadly to Severus closing my eyes in despair. The next memories went in a similar fashion of something happening and I being 'punished'. I commented on things like from their punishments if I still had scars and dropping minor glamors that held the worse scars. By the time I knew that the memories were coming to an end I was silently sobbing.

Being forcibly evicted from the pensive I fell to the floor on my knees, I didn't try and stand up or look to Severus. "I would never speak about what I saw in the pensive last year, I couldn't, not with what my childhood was like," I said loud enough for Severus to hear. I stood and saw Severus handing me a drink that looked like it was fire whiskey, I nodded my head in thanks. He motioned for me to sit so I did not meeting Severus's eyes.

I took a sip out of the glass giving a small smile when the fire swallowed me whole before settling as a hot coal in my stomach. "Why?" I looked up to Severus seeing that he wasn't meeting my eyes, "Why show me all of that Harry?"

Finally Severus looked up and I caught his eye before replying, "Because we all need someone to lean on especially people that been through what we have and will do to protect the ones we love. Also because I saw myself staring back at me every time I was near you," I leaned over and squeezed his hand before letting go.

Severus let out a bark of a laugh shocking me to no end, "Your just like your mom," I smiled in happiness at knowing more information about mom. Severus then got very angry, "You foolish man I don't care about you."

I smirked, "I never said I cared about you," Severus sputtered in outrage, "but if you wish for me to care about you why not start off as friends." I took another sip of fire whiskey before going on, "Besides I want to be your friend."

Severus sat back down in his chair taking a gulp and then a sip, "Why me?" he snarled out but I could see the curiosity plain as day.

"For the same reason I chose to go against Dumbledore I believe, no I know that your worthy of being my friend and I you," I replied calmly not even sounding the slightest tipsy. I watched Severus closely as a blank mask came over his face so I decided to break said mask. "Also I want someone who could understand me," I said shyly not really wanting to admit it but am willing to by putting my pride aside.

I heard Severus move but didn't look up and then I felt the couch dip but I couldn't move it felt like I was spelled to not move. He put his hands over my shoulders giving a light squeeze before speaking, "I wouldn't be adverse… to being your friend." I smiled gently as my emotional eye turned light blue for happiness and peace. "We would have to keep it on the down low," he said before standing and started to pace in front of me.

"I know," I stated firmly stopping Severus in his tracks, "and I don't mind."

Sneaking back into the common room I was shocked into freezing, again, "Anything you would like to tell me?" Draco questioned. I stared at him not knowing what to say. "Well I can guess but I want to hear it from your mouth."

"I um talked to Snape and um we came into an agreement," I stated trying not to blush but I knew that Draco saw it.

"You Like him, how long?" Draco demanded.

"Wait, you aren't disgusted?" I ask sitting on the cracked leather couch next to Draco staring him in his storm eyes.

"That would make me a hypocrite," Draco stated the fact. I looked at him with surprise in my eyes, he looks at me and starts laughing, "You really didn't know."

I shook my head in a negative, "Yeah, I do like him," I say with a stupid little grin. Draco takes a look at my face and laughs, "Wait who do you like?" I look at him but he won't meet my eyes.

"Promise you won't get mad," he asks shyly. When has he ever been shy I wonder to myself before wondering why he would expect me to get to get mad when I realized.

"You like Dudley," I say slowly with a grin beginning to form. "I won't be mad at you dating Dudley if you don't get mad if I start dating Snape.

"Deal," Draco says looking relived and I nod to him.

Before I say, "So Dudley," I say wagging my eyebrows at Draco with a leer.

Draco punches my arm before saying, "Bastard."

While walking to his room to his bed to get some sleep I reply, "Bitch." Laughing at the face Draco makes before crawling into bed and my last thought before peaceful sleep over took was that today was a good day.
