Chapter 7:

The days passed in a blur with Draco, Dudley, and I were becoming closer than ever while Ron and Hermione were becoming the pair to stay away from. Dumbledore had been trying to get me alone for a while now but at the end of the day Draco and Dudley never left my side and I them. Severus well that on the other hand was a challenge. He seemed to enjoy our "detentions" where he taught me about potions and in return I taught him how to cook. Otherwise nothing really happened, and it was nearing Christmas break and I still had no idea what to do.

"Well we can't go back to Mum and Dad," Dudley muttered as he passed the rubber ball to me. "And we sure as hell can't stay here with Dumbledore staring out you like a pedophile waiting for its next prey to walk into his trap."

I shook my head knowing that was true but still sent shivers down my body as I threw the ball up in the air a few times before sending it back to Dudley. "I am getting emancipated doesn't mean that I can do anything yet and it has already been advanced and the earliest it will be approved is after Christmas break." I watched Dudley stare at the ball and the ceiling before bouncing it off a few times obviously thinking about what I said.

The door opened to show a disheveled Draco, "Well life is never boring around you Pothead."

"What do you mean?" as I tried to get my mind to focus on Draco instead of the trouble that Christmas first brought around for me.

"Dumblefuck just tried to corner me and thank god there was some snakes that came to my aid," Draco replied sounding just like a snake. He flopped down on his bed as Dudley passed him the ball which Draco caught like a snitch.

"Your bloody shitting me, right?" Dudley asked stupidly as he put his hand underneath his head, so he could see Draco.

Draco tossed the ball back and forth in between his hands as he replied, "Yes, so I know, we know that you both need to get the hell away from this place."

"Don't we know it," Dudley and I stated at the same time before we all were quiet trying to puzzle through this bullshit.

Someone knocked on our door before I went to go answer it, "Yes?" I asked politely as I saw the little firstie.

"Professor Snape wanted to see you three in his office, right away," the little kid stated before turning away not knowing if he should stay or not.

"Huh, wonder what Godfather wants," Draco said stretching himself out like a lynx before leading us to Snape's office. The walk was silent each of us trapped in our own thoughts and confusion. I knocked softly before a sigh left my lips, pondering the meaning of life would be easier. The door swung open to the view of Snape grading papers at his desk beckoning us in and of course Draco went forth. I wonder if he should have been in Gryffindor with how he acts, I thought to myself following anyway.

Severus-Snape finished grading the paper to look up at us but somehow, I knew that he stared at me longer than the rest before speaking. "I have heard some rumors going around about you Mr. Potter."

"Somehow that isn't that surprising to me Sir," I replied already trying to pinpoint where this could be going.

Snape scoffed at me in diffusion leading me to suspect where this is going, "Draco, I heard from your parents this evening too, is it correct that Mr. Potter and Mr. Evans are invited to stay at the manor this Yule?"

Draco glanced at me with confusion before looking back at his Godfather, "Yes that is true Sir. Why are you asking for it is hypothetically speaking because of a certain Headmaster?"

My eyes widen slightly as my eye turned deep lavender with anger and understanding coming through and yet the motive still is an unknown. "Hypothetically speaking if I wasn't a professor and as your Godfather to you I would have to say yes… The issue arises that no one trusts the Malfoy name, not with the association of him."

The motivation suddenly comes clear as day, "He's wondering if I'm going dark?!" Snape just stares at me letting me know deep in my gut that yes that is correct.

"Blah, if you're going dark the world must be ending," Dudley muttered blandly like oatmeal with no flavor. Sometimes I wonder if he takes the words right out of my mouth, I thought staring at the stack of papers wondering if I should be angry, hurt, or down right pissed the bloody hell off.

"That is why I needed to talk to you three," Snape stated just as blandly making me wonder if I could con him for a pensive of that conversation.

"Great he wants to hold you within his sights which means he won't let you leave without a fight or go to the Weasleys for the holiday," Draco grumbled leaving me wonder who leaked this information for the Headmaster to know.

"How did the F-Headmaster know what was going on?" I asked softly turning my attention back to Snape.

"That's not the biggest worry Harry," Dudley stated softly making my head turn to the side gently. "He won't let you leave unless you can prove to him that you are still on speaking terms with the know-it-all and the weasel while proving to him that you are trying to make Draco see the "light"."

"He needs reassurance before agreeing to anything," Draco softly said, and my hands balled up just knowing what was going to happen. Snape must have realized it too because he was already shaking his head in a no motion.

"You are not going to bring the potions class into it Potter!" he snarled out trying to look intimidating as Dudley and Draco shared a look with tiny smirks on their pale lips.

"But, he could have me doused with a love potion if we don't go through with this," I sadly said with pitiful eyes, a worried brow, and a small frown on my face.

"I knew that you would take those "detentions" as bonding moments between us," Snape grumbled quietly, disgruntled.

"All in agreement, then?" I asked lightly with my previous vanishing just as quickly as it appeared.

"You know I never agreed to this Potter!" Snape snarled.

"We know Professor," we all stated with now full-blown smirks.
