Chapter 2 Welcome aboard
After landing on the Strawhats ship, Lucy quickly took out her katana and quietly made her way around the ship. After not too long, she found and snuck into a room that was full of people snoring in hammocks. Lucy passes every hammock in order to pick out which one the captain was in. Lucy tip toed around until she one person who was snoring that had a scar under his left eye with a straw hat on.
"This must be him." Lucy thought. She shakily lifted up her katana so that she clenched it with both hands when the blade was pointing downward.
"I...I just need to stab his arms so he won't fight back. It won't kill him." Lucy mumbled. She raises the sword up and was about to plunge it into his right arm, but she suddenly stopped after feeling a cold metal point on her neck.
"Hey, just what do you think you are doing?" a deep voice said behind her. She slowly turned her head around to see someone with light green hair and a cold stare holding a sword behind her.
"Ah crap..." laughed Lucy nervously.
Magnolia*
(TIMESKIP...MORNINING)
Team Natsu were all just on their way to Lucy's to tell her the lie they thought up about the mission. Natsu was the first to reach her apartment, of course not using the door.
"Hey Lucy!" Natsu shouted after jumping through her window.
"Why didn't you use the front door flame brain?" said Gray while the rest of the team came in. But when they did, Lucy wasn't there.
"She's not here?" said Wendy.
"Lucy, are you home?!" Happy called out, flying through the apartment. There was no answer.
"You guys, I found a note that's labeled for us." Erza said. They all gathered around Erza as she read what was on the note.
Dear Team Natsu,
If you are reading this, then you've barged into my apartment to tell me an excuse about the S-class mission. I heard everything. I'm sorry I'm such a disappointment to you guys. So, I did what Natsu would've done and took a S-class job myself. Don't bother coming after me. I know I'll be punished when I get back, so I'm gonna do this mission on my own to the very end.

All of Team Natsu stood frozen after hearing what was on the letter. Most of them gained looks of guilt and shock sketched onto their faces.
"You mean...Lucy heard everything we said?" Wendy said, beginning to sob. Charla did her best to comfort her.
"...What kind of friends are we?" Erza cursed, her fists shaking.
"We never should've said those things about her!" growled Natsu. Happy simply began balling his eyes out.
"I just hope she's ok." said Gray, keeping one hand over his eyes.
Strawhat ship*
Lucy, now tied up, sat on the deck of the ship surrounded by the Strawhat crew. A women with long black hair, a young teenage girl with short orange hair, a young man with blonde hair covering one of his eys while smoking a cigarette, a tall man with greenish hair who had sunglasses and wasn't wearing proper pants, a small reindeer looking animal, a guy with a long nose, the man with light green hair, and the captain, Strawhat Luffy.
"Alright, who are you and what are you doing on our ship?" the green haired swordsman asked harshly.
"It's...it's Lucy." she mumbled.
"Moss head, you better be more kind to this lady." the blonde haired man said.
"Unless you've forgotten, I caught her trying to assassinate our captain." the swordsman snapped back.
"...I-I wasn't going to assassinate him." Lucy gained the courage to correct them, speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. All eyes were turned back on her again.
"Hey guys, I found something in her bag." the little animal called out, poking his upper body out of Lucy's back now holding a piece of paper.
"Don't go looking through my stuff!" exclaimed Lucy. The woman with orange hair took the piece of paper out of it's hand, or hooves.
"Luffy, this your wanted poster." said the girl with orange hair to the one in the strawhat.
"Really?" Luffy said while picking his nose.
"Is it just me or does he seem like an idiot?" Lucy thought.
"Oh yeah, we forgot to tell Brook." said the long nosed one.
"I'll go get him." said the blonde haired man as he left. Luffy then walked over to Lucy and squatted down in front of her.
"So, how'd you get on board?" asked Luffy.
"Well, I guess you can say, I was transported here." Lucy said nervously, thinking he wouldn't believe her.
"You can teleport!? That's awesome!" Luffy shouted with stars in his eyes. Lucy sweat dropped anime style at seeing him act so childish.
"It doesn't matter how she got here, it matters what she's doing here." said long nose. They all looked at her with questioning eyes.
"Well...I came here on a job for my guild." said Lucy.
"A guild?" asked the women with black hair.
"It's a place where people who use magic join together to take jobs and go on quests." Lucy explained. Just mentioning magic got many different reactions from the pirates, som being excited, others shock, and one more scared than anything.
"You can use magic!?" Luffy exclaimed.
"Y-you better know...I-I'm not afraid of you...even if you have powers..." long nose said from a distance with his legs shaking.
"Hey guys, I'm back." the blonde man said as he came back with Brook.
"Yo ho ho ho ho! Why, who do we have here?" said the person behind the man with the cigarette. When Lucy saw him, her jaw hit the floor.
"A talking skeleton!?" shouted Lucy.
"Yeah. Isn't he funny?" Luffy laughed. Lucy still kept her distance from the skeleton.
"Don't worry. He just ate the revive-revive fruit." the orange haired woman said.
"Revive-revive fruit?" Lucy said.
"It's just one of the devil fruits." the woman with long black hair said.
"What are devil fruits?" asked Lucy.
"They're special fruits that give people powers." said the swordsman. The first one to more specifically show the meaning of a devil fruit's powers was the small animal.
"It's true. I'm a reindeer, but one that ate the human-human fruit." said the reindeer, showing off turning into a complete reindeer.
"I ate the gum-gum fruit, making me a rubber man." Luffy said as he stretched out his cheek.
"And I ate the flower-flower fruit. I can make any of my limbs bloom anywhere like flowers." the black haired women said as she made multiple arms appear around Lucy's feet.
"And this may not be devil fruit related, but I also happen to be a cyborg, and a super one at that!" the guy with the sunglasses said, striking a pose. Lucy's eyes showed confusion at first, but they soon changed to have stars in them as she looked at them in awe.
"Wow. You guys are really amazing then." Lucy said. Suddenly, Luffy's face lit up.
"Hey, why don't you join my crew?!" Luffy said excitedly.
"What!?" exclaimed Lucy and almost everyone else.
"Luffy, are you insane?! We just met this girl!" yelled long nose.
"But she can use magic." Luffy said with a big grin.
"Um...and what if I refuse?" Lucy said nervously.
"We have you tied up, we can just throw you over board." Luffy answered like it was a joke. Lucy let her jaw drop again.
"Hehe. That's cold Luffy." the swordsman said.
"I wouldn't mind having a beautiful girl like her on board!" the blonde guy said with hearts in his eyes.
"So...I either join or die at sea. Doesn't give me much of a choice." Lucy said with her eye twitching.
"Yay! We got a new crewmate! Lucy!" Luffy cheered.
"What have I gotten myself into?" Lucy thought.
