Chapter 5 A pirate's life
*Grand Line-Lucy*
In just a few days, Lucy was slowly beginning to adjust to her new pirate life. It has been nearly a week since she left Fairy Tail, and at the moment, the entire crew, including herself, were dealing with a terrible storm. Lightening and thunder rang throughout the sky while the sea was creating monster-sized waves. Franky and Chopper were trying to steer the ship away from any whirlpools or debris.
"Whoa! This is getting intense!" Franky exclaimed.
"Yo ho ho ho ho! And it just seems to be getting rougher!" Brook exclaimed as he was thrown across the ship by the wind without even caring.
"Guys, hoist the sails! And hurry, or else we'll capsize!" Nami shouted. Lucy, Sanji, and Zorro all started doing just that.
"I don't get it! It was just sunny not too long ago!" Lucy shouted as she pulled the ropes.
"It's the bizarre weather of the Grand Line! Logic means nothing around here!" said Sanji.
"Yeah, so if you want to survive out here Princess, you better learn to tough it out in stuff like this!" said Zorro.
"What did you call me!?" Lucy shouted with a vain on her forehead.
"Guys, this is not the time to be arguing!" Usopp cried as he clung to the mast.
"Then why don't you help us then!?" Luffy shouted as he tried tying things down with Robin.
"You guys got this under control! I'm just sending you some moral support!" Usopp said while shaking like a dog.
"You are such a coward!" most of the crew yelled. With the storm leaving as quickly as it appeared, the crew was finally able to get out of the storm's range. Everyone began fixing everything that was wrecked or tossed around by the storm.
"Jeez. That was exhausting." Lucy sighed as she leaned on the railing of the ship.
"Lucy darling. I brought you some refreshments, since you must be so tired after all that hard work." said Sanji as he held a drink in front Lucy.
"Oh, thanks Sanji." said Lucy. Sanji left and obviously went straight to Robin and Nami. Lucy let out a small laugh before taking a swig of her drink.
"Hey Lucy! That was some storm huh?!" Luffy said excitedly as he slapped Lucy on the back, causing her to spit out her drink. She coughed and hacked a few times since Luffy almost caused her to choke.
"Jeez, don't sneak up on someone like that when they're drinking something." Lucy said.
"Haha! Sorry!" Luffy said with a wide grin. Seeing that goofy grin, Lucy couldn't help but smile warmly at the her young pirate captain.
"It's fine. Anyway, I've been meaning to say, you're crew really is a strange one isn't it?" asked Lucy.
"Oh yeah. They're all so fun to have around. We've gone on so many adventures!" said Luffy.
"Really? Then, tell me about them." Lucy said while setting her head on her hand.
"Alright then. But, I don't know where to start!" Luffy said while grinning, hopping onto the railing to begin to tell the crew's story.
Luffy was soon going on and on about all of their adventures like Captain Kuro, Arlong Park, Logue town, the Millennium Dragons, Desert countries, Sky island, Enies Lobby, and Thriller Bark. Before Lucy knew it, she became entranced in Luffy's long explanation of his crew's adventures. To her, their adventures sounded like only things she cold dream of doing.
*With Fairy Tail*
After nearly a whole week, out of every Fairy Tail member who was out looking, not one of those special keys have been found. Right now, only Team Natsu, Team Shadow Gear, Gajeel, Lily, and the Thunder Legion were inside the guild hall, along with Master.
"Gah! This is taking to long!" Natsu complained, slamming his fist onto a table.
"Like I said Natsu, these keys are really hard to come by. We just have to keep hoping they come up, and soon." Levy said.
"She's right Natsu. We have to be patient and hope the others come across one soon." said Erza.
"But Lucy could be in serious danger right now!" shouted Natsu.
"You think we don't know that ash breath!?" Gray said, snapping while slamming his hand on the table.
"What was that ice princess!?" Natsu snapped back. Once again, the two seemed to be about to fight.
"No fighting!" said Erza after hitting them both over the head.
"A-aye..." they both squeaked out.
Watching the small group from the upper level, Makarov simply sighed as he could only shake his head. He soon was simply looking out one of the many windows the guild hall had, his thoughts and worry being more than obvious.
"Lucy, my child, please be safe." Makarov muttered to himself.
*With Lucy*
Luffy had just finally finished talking about all of his and his crew's adventure stories, he and Lucy ending all the way near the head of the Thousand Sunny. By now, Lucy was stuck looking upon Luffy with awestruck eyes like that of a child.
"That all sounds so amazing! Do all pirates live like that?" Lucy anxiously asked.
"Oh yeah! Pirates go on all kinds of adventures and do all kind of fun stuff. It even makes people stronger." Luffy answered.
"Really!? How strong can they become!?" asked Lucy.
"Super strong! And bet that will be you one day." said Luffy. Hearing those encouraging words made Lucy's heart flutter, even if it was for just a moment.
"Really? You think I can become strong like you guys?" Lucy said.
"Yeah. I mean, you have the life of a pirate now don't ya'?" Luffy said.
Lucy let out a small gasp after hearing that. She got a distant look in her eye and soon stared at her guild mark. After staring at for not too long, Lucy had small smile on her face and used her other hand to grip and cover her right hand, along with the guild mark.
"That's right. I live like a pirate now." said Lucy.
"Hahaha! Awesome! And just wait, we'll have some real fun soon!" cheered Luffy.
"Yeah." mumbled Lucy, bashfully messing with her hair. Almost right after, Sanji could be heard calling everyone to eat the food he just prepared.
"Oh! Come on, time for food, I hope there's a bunch of meat!" Luffy said, eagerly takinging Lucy's hand to have both of them dash across the deck.
Unlike a few days ago, Lucy didn't struggle against Luffy's grip. Now, she even feels comfort and safety from his hand, enjoyably keeping up with Luffy's pace to be able to keep her own grip on Luffy's hand for as long as possible.
