Sundas, 22nd of Last Seed 3E 420

A year after arriving in Ald'ruhn, he had no luck with the job he wanted as a City Volunteer Guard. Instead became the assistant manager of the Ald Skar Inn. Now at the age of seventeen, he decided to leave Ald'ruhn for reasons he himself doesn't even know. He packed up his belongings and went to the major city, Balmora.

(Middas. 23rd of Last Seed 3E 420)

It's been a few days since he moved to Balmora and his nightmares of Alva, Mannimarco, and all of his past deeds returned once again causing him restlessness. Night had fallen and he went out for a night stroll. After a few minutes of wandering, he spotted a man, about his age, looking around frantically. Lantrius curiously approached him.

"Hey, are you alright?" he asked nearing him

The Imperial drew his sword. "Stay back!"

"Hold on." Lantrius stopped in his tracks quickly raising his hands. "Is there something wrong?"

"Are you with the Dark Brotherhood? Are you here to kill me?" the Imperial questioned quickly with his sword still raised

In a serious tone Lantrius said, "No. If I were, you or I would probably be dead right about now."

The Imperial slightly lowered his sword, guard still up, and Lantrius lowered his hands.

"What's your name?" he asked the cautious man

"Cornelius. What are you doing outside?"

Lantrius slowly walked closer to Cornelius, "I'm new to Balmora and I thought a quick night stroll would help me familiarize the city." He lied slightly. "Why are you outside? You're more vulnerable to archers."

"That may be true, though there is more room to maneuver when outside."

"Taking the risk I see. I'll see you arou-"

He was cut off from arrow that flew straight over their heads. They both quickly looked to where it came from and found five men covered in the notorious brotherhood leathers.

"Damn it! I missed, Reemal." The archer said disappointingly

"I hadn't noticed." The man in the front said sarcastically. "Cornelius, Sithis is waiting!"

"Care to tell me why you're after me?" Cornelius curiously asked, his readying his stance.

"Our contact stated, 'We don't need Imperial scum around here'." Reemal answered. "We're doing melee tonight, boys. 'Useless Archer', you stay back and be ready when I give the signal." Reemal commanded and they circled around the two.

Lantrius sighed, "Looks like I've walked myself into another kill fest." Cornelius slightly glared at him with suspicion with his attention still fixed on the enemy. "I'll get two. You can handle two enemies at once right?"

"I can try. I've never really been in combat before."

"Oh boy." Lantrius said with concern and readied his stance as well.

Reemal whistled and three men, except Reemal, attacked at once.

Lantrius quickly launched two steams of fire onto both of his chosen targets. Their bodies were instantly engulfed in flames sending them into a fleeing panic. Cornelius luckily blocked and parried multiple attacks and eventually struck down one leaving Reemal left. Reemal looked over to find two of his men laying on the floor with their carcasses now charred and found Cornelius' friend nearing him as well. He then signaled the archer.

The archer fired an arrow missing Lantrius and hit Cornelius' arm. Lantrius formed a massive fire ball and threw it at the archer to buy some time. He printed to help Cornelius. Cornelius was knocked to the ground and Reemal raised his sword ready to finish his target off. Then he unintentionally let his guard down and spotted the other one nearing him. Cornelius took this opportunity to stab Reemal's stomach causing him to collapse onto one knee. Realizing he was about to lose, he used a quick teleporting spell and disappeared leaving one of his men behind.

Lantrius turned his attention to the archer and advanced towards him. Too close to shoot an arrow, the archer bravely drew his knife. Once Lantrius got close enough, the archer kept needlessly slashing through the air to keep the dangerous man at bay. Lantrius felt a familiar spell fill his entire body and he timed the assailant's swings to disarm the knife.

Once he did and broke the assassin's hand, he felt stronger and the blood-lust grew. He drew in closer with more killing intent, scaring the man and caused him to frantically plead let him go. Grabbing his throat and grew even stronger, Lantrius lifted the entire body off the ground and squeezed his neck with extreme force. While choking him, he slowly froze the throat into ice with his choking hand and shattered it. The body and head dropped onto the ground with a loud thud.

Cornelius walked up to him. "By The Nine, I sure don't want to pick a fight with you."

"Word of warning," Lantrius began to telling him and looting the body, "I've killed an ogre and troll with my bare hands and I don't even know how I pulled it off." He looked past Cornelius' shoulder, "Oh look, the guards are here."

"We got reports of screaming and yelling." One guard said. He looked at the bodies and saw one of the assassin's leathers. "Dark Brotherhood." He noted to the other guard and addressed the two civilians, "There is no charge of any kind for self-defense and are free to go."

"We'll take it from here." Another one said.

"You have a nice night gentlemen." Lantrius told the guards catching a scoff.

Lantrius and Cornelius walked into the local tavern and sat down at the bar.

"Drinks on me." Offered Cornelius.

"Sounds good." Lantrius chuckled

Some time passed in silence and Cornelius cleared his throat after taking the last sip from his drink. "We got off on the wrong foot so let's start over." He said with a smile and held his hand out "Cornelius Krexerich. Average commoner and temple groundskeeper. What's your name?"

Lantrius, too, smiled and shook his hand. "Lantrius Trovicci. Fairly new to Morrowind and ex-necromancer."
