Chapter 65

Black Hole Catastrophe

Lilymon digivolve too… Rosemon!

Zudomon digivolve too… Vikemon!

Even through Izzy's computer screen, the two megas looked amazing. Even if it did take a bit of Tai and Matt's ego in the process.

"I have no idea what you are even talking about." Tai remarked and looked away from the laptop.

"Yeah, that was never the case at all!" Matt muttered as he too looked away. Strangely, his gaze snapped right to Tai after saying that.

"Does it really matter you two?" Sora snapped and found herself in the crosshairs of both boys. "At the very least, we should be racking our heads on who that weird dude holding Meicoomon is."

Her gaze shifted over to TK and Kari, who were currently typing something into their phones.

"Maybe." Kari remarked, glancing up from her phone for a second to see if the battle had really changed. Once she was certain that nothing had, the phone became the digidestined's top priority once more.

"Oh yeah!" Joe announced and pumped his fist in the air. "Give him everything you got!"

Vikemon somehow managed to hear his human's encouragement, giving a just barely visible wave.

"You too, Rosemon!" Mimi added as she pushed herself closer to the screen.

Beauty Shock!

Rosemon slammed her whip into Imperialdramon, letting forth electricity into the dragon. How exactly I'm not entirely sure.

Viking Axe!

Vikemon's morning stars shot out, quickly making their way towards their opponent. This was then followed by Leomon throwing his sword, which was sadly not a named attack.

"Boo." Leomon remarked as a new sword appeared in his hands. "Cool!"

So he did it again. For good measure of course. He found it to be just as it satisfying as the first time, with none of the drawbacks that one would expect.

"Make it stop." Imperialdramon whimpered, swords now sticking out of various points of his body. "What must I do for you to stop hurting me?!"

Forbidden Temptation!

But, it would seem that the digimon he was currently facing at the moment weren't the listening type.

"I'm sorry."

Mega Death.

With that, the battle shifted. But not in an obvious way at first. To those observing the battle, everything looked alright. His opponents would probably report a similar story when this all ended. But not for either of them. No, they were going out… for good.

"This is the end." Imperialdramon remarked as he felt his body get pulled closer and closer to the projectile. His vision faded and he embraced the dark, just a catching a glimpse of a familiar boy.

"Imperialdramon!"

"Davish?"

Those were the last words he could get out, especially as his body digivolved down to Paildramon. Then it split, finally leaving behind a pair of blobs.

Davis Motomiya wasn't sure what to think in that moment.

"Aren't you going to grab DemiVeemon and Leafmon?" the gogglehead inquired, but no one answered. "Kari, TK?"

For some reason, a shiver came over him. So he buttoned up his vest, only to have it come back twice as hard. His next attempt at warmth involved rubbing his hands together. But all that seemed to do was make him pant a bit and increase the general emptiness within.

"Answer me, dammit!"

For a few brief seconds, hope seemed to come in the form of a couple of the digidestined glancing in his direction. But it turned out to be a false positive, as a weird-looking kitty cat with wings appeared and tore the just as weird lion digimon into a red mist.

"Okay…"

From the reactions of the digidestined, it would seem that this digimon was important to them. But how so, Davis wasn't entirely sure. Personally, it seemed like a complete disconnect, as if he was watching two shows at once. Nor was it helped by the fading of his body.

"Crap, crap, crap."

The gogglehead began scrounging through his pockets, searching for the one possible thing that could maybe save him.

Somehow, he managed to find it.

"Digi-port open!"

Of course, things rarely do go to plan.

Notes:

Originally, this was planned to be the twentieth entry and would've had everyone dying. Since it's a black hole and all. But, I never liked how it turned out. This I feel turned out a lot better.

Also, Beauty Shock is an actual attack that Rosemon can use... somehow.
